Pandemic Covid-19 and Uncertainty
Get PDFPurpose: This study focuses on entrepreneurial intention among students. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence student entrepreneurship interest as a career orientation in an uncertain environmental situation.
Design/methodology/approach: The statistical analysis method used is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) where each is measured using several indicators, how uncertainty affects Career Orientation and Entrepreneurial Intentions. This research was conducted on students of the Management Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Bhayangkara University, Greater Jakarta. This research was conducted by distributing questionnaires to 300 students using a simple random sampling method.
Findings: The results of this study want to obtain a model that shows that uncertainty affects career orientation and student interest in entrepreneurship.
Research limitations/implications: Future research is expected to explore the factors that influence student entrepreneurial intention and all aspects that encourage student career orientation. Practical implications: By involving more significant respondents in different research units, it is hoped to be used as a reference for knowledge and the basis for educational practitioners in development and decision making.
Originality/value: The uncertainty of the situation is a heavy blow to the business world and the economy in general, especially business actors who are just starting their business. Historically, individuals who undertake the creation of new ventures are considered to have started an entrepreneurial career.

Employee Orientation, Training, and Development in improvements of Employee Performance at University in Surabaya
Get PDFPurpose: This study aims to determine the effect of employee orientation, training, and development on the performance of university employees in the city of Surabaya.
Design/methodology/approach: The research uses an explanatory quantitative approach. The population in this study were all Universities in Surabaya, amounting to 84 units. Sampling technique with total sampling. Data collection is done using google Forms. The data collected were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis, t-test, and F test.
Findings: Factors of employee orientation, training and development individually influence the performance of University employees in Surabaya. The results of the study state that work development have a dominant influence on the performance of university employees in Surabaya

Findings: The essence of entrepreneurship is to build an entrepreneurial atmosphere so that students like challenges, are creative, innovative, and have the courage to take or manage risks (character).
Research limitations/implications: Imagine if all graduates in Indonesia had entrepreneurial characters, of course Indonesia would rise to become an authoritative country in the eyes of the world. Indonesia will have strong competitiveness, its economy will be independent, and its image will improve.
Practical implications: The formulation of the problem in this study is how the entrepreneurial attitude of students so far and how the needs of teachers and students for teaching materials that can improve the entrepreneurial attitude of students.

Determining the Timing of Investment in Mutual Fund Products using the Double Exponential Smoothing Model
Get PDFPurpose: As we know, COVID-19 affects the economy of most of the world, one of the investment media that continues to grow is mutual fund investment. This study aims to find the right time to invest by studying data in the previous period.
Design/methodology/approach: In this study, we collect daily data on Net Asset Value (NAV) prices from January to September 2021, by analyzing calculations using the double exponential smoothing method to predict the time with the lowest price for investing.
Findings: The results showed that this study was able to predict the right time to invest in mutual funds using the Holt Double Exponential Smoothing method using the actual smoothing data parameter of 0.9 (alpha) and the trend data smoothing parameter of 0.1 (beta) with produces a Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) value of 0.85343. The right time to invest in this research is determined on November 2, 2021 with an estimated net asset value (NAV) of 2348.644032.

Electronic Word of Mouth (E-Wom), Celebrity Endorsement and Lifestyle in The Interest of Buying Online Shop Products
Get PDFPurpose: This research is motivated by the rise of commerce via the internet or so-called electronic commerce (E-commerce). From a businessman's point of view, this is an opportunity for them to increase their business by creating an online shop that is included in several marketplaces. Electronic Word of Mouth (e-wom) includes testimonials from someone who has bought, then there are also figures who are fond of using the product, namely Celebrity endorsers and student lifestyle. The purpose of this study is to reveal how these aspects influence buying interest.
Design/methodology/approach: The method in this study uses a quantitative approach by describing multiple linear regressions. The sample research method used is non-probability sampling with the consideration that all populations cannot be used as a sample. The sample obtained was 200 students.
Findings: Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of E-WOM on the interest in buying online shop products, there is a significant influence of celebrity endorse on the interest in buying online products, there is a significant influence of lifestyle on the interest in buying online shop products, there is an effect of E-WOM, Celebrity Endorse. and lifestyle simultaneously on the interest in buying online shop products.
Research limitations/implications: All respondents of this research are student.
Practical implications: Result of this research can be used as references in creating interest in buying online product.

The Role of Competitive Advantage as Mediating The Effect of Strategic Planning on Company Performance

Design/methodology/approach: The steps are first, determine the influence of strategic planning on competitive advantages; second, determine the influence of competitive advantages on company performance, third determine the role of competitive advantages as a mediating variable from the influence of strategic planning on company performance.
Findings: The results showed that strategic planning has a positive and significant effect on competitive advantages and organizational performance. Competitive advantage has a positive and significant effect on organizational performance. Competitive advantage played a role in mediating the effect of strategic planning on company performance.
Research limitations/implications: The research data set had collected using a questionnaire. After the data set had collected, an analysis had been finished using PLS
Practical implications: Strategic planning can improve company performance through increased competitive advantage as an intervening variable.

Motivation And Competency Factors Influencing Tutors Performance In Educational Equality Of Study Group Musi Banyuasin Regency
Get PDFPurpose: The lack of motivation and competence in the performance of tutors in the education equality of study groups in the Non-Formal Education Unit of the Musi Banyuasin Regency was the background for this research. The purpose of this study is to prove the influence of motivation and competence on the tutor's performance.
Design/methodology/approach: The population in this study were all Group Equality Tutors, total to 70 people. Primary data used from questionnaires by respondents. Sample selection is done by simple random sampling. Data management techniques used the SPSS version 20 program and tested it using multiple linear regression equations.
Findings: The results of the study simultaneously produce an R2 (R square) of 0.169 indicating the variable competence and work motivation affect tutor performance by 16.9%, and the remaining 83.1% is influenced by other variables. While partially there is an influence between motivation on performance that produces a tcount of 3.501, and there is no influence between competence on performance with the result of a tcount of 1.820
The Effects of Entrepreneurial Leadership, Recruitment and Innovation on Learning Organization and Organizational Performance of Four Star Hotels in East Java
Get PDFPurpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of entrepreneurial leadership, recruitment and innovation to learning organization and organizational performance at four-star hotels in East Java.
Design/methodology/approach: The research design used an explanatory research approach, with the research sample being the leadership or management of a four-star hotel in East Java, with a total sample of 71 respondents. The analytical technique used is SEM-PLS (SEM-Partial Least Square).
Findings: The results of the analysis conclude that there are five accepted hypotheses, namely (1) entrepreneurial leadership has a positive and significant effects on learning organizations, (2) recruitment has a positive and significant effects on learning organizations, (3) innovation has a positive and significant effects on learning organizations, (4) innovation has a positive and significant effects on organizational performance, (5) learning organization has a positive and significant effects on organizational performance.
Research limitation/implications: The rest, there are two rejected hypotheses, namely (1) entrepreneurial leadership has no significant effects on organizational performance, and (2) recruitment has no significant effects on organizational performance.

Small Enterprise Challenges and Responses to the COVID-19 Crisis
Get PDFPurpose: This study proposes a framework combining crisis challenges and response actions for crisis survival of small enterprises during the COVID-19 pandemic in Bangladesh.
Design/methodology/approach: We adopted a qualitative research design using a multiple case study method collecting data from four small firms in Bangladesh.
Findings: The findings of this study are expected to contribute to the literature on the small enterprise and COVID-19 context, providing useful insight into crisis survival for small firms, especially in developing countries.
Research limitations/implications: To counter these challenges, firms adopted short-term and long-term response strategies that resulted in survival for these businesses.
Practical implications: We derive a conceptual framework for crisis survival based on the learnings from the cases that would enable small firms to build resilience to crisis episodes. Additionally, we suggest recommendations that small enterprise owners and policymakers can adopt to improve the resilience during exogenous crisis periods.

Household Challenges, Family Dynamism and Online Learning under COVID-19 Pandemic in a South African University

Design/methodology/approach: The researchers conducted a research at one of the University of Technology in South Africa, situated in the Province of Kwa-Zulu Natal, in Piet ermaritzburg. The main aim was to determine the challenges posed by online learning while students were at home,
compounded by COVID-19 pandemic.
Findings: The results of the analysis show ed the connection
between family dynamics such as family settings, online learning and the impact of COVID-19 pandemic in this regard. It can then be concluded that there is a significant influence between family setting, such as bereavement, divorce, lack of internet connection and overcrowding at home, COVID-19 and the adjustment to online learning.
