Purpose: In this research, Knowledge Sharing, Experience, Obedience Pressure, and Professional Audit Ethics effect auditor judgment in Surabaya and Sidoarjo Public Accounting Firms (KAPs).  It seeks to resolve contradictions in earlier research and increase empirical data on audit knowledge exchange. Methodology: The quantitative technique employed Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) using SmartPLS software.  Purposive sampling chose 120 auditors from 15 KAPs with at least 2 years of audit experience and a bachelor's degree.  Primary data was acquired using 5-point Likert scale questionnaires for all dimensions, including moderating effects. Findings: The investigation indicated that Knowledge Sharing, Experience, Obedience Pressure, and Professional Audit Ethics significantly influence Audit Judgment.  Of the moderating factors examined, only one had a meaningful impact on the connection between the variables and Audit Judgment.  The research affirms the significance of these characteristics in formulating good audit judgments and supports the perspective that robust knowledge-sharing channels, with expertise, ethical commitment, and adherence to regulations, improve the quality of auditors' conclusions. Application of Activity Based Costing Method in Cost Calculation

    No full text
Purpose: This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Activity Based Costing (ABC) method in cost calculation for service units at the Orthopedic & Traumatology Hospital in Surabaya and to compare the results with the conventional costing method currently used by the hospital. Design/methodology/approach: The studies employ a descriptive-comparative method with a quantitative and qualitative approach. The data used include the hospital’s financial reports, particularly unit-level income statements, as well as information from interviews regarding activities and costs within each service unit. Data analysis was carried out in three stages: documenting costs, identifying activities and cost drivers, and calculating costs using the ABC method. Findings: The results show that the ABC method provides more accurate and relevant cost calculations because it is based on the actual activities performed in each unit. Cost calculations using ABC also yield more reasonable unit-level profit and loss results compared to the conventional method, which still allocates costs based on revenue percentages. These findings indicate that applying the ABC method can assist hospital management in determining fairer, more transparent service rates that reflect the resource consumption of each unit. Analysis of Management of Legal Consequences of Service Provider Default on Project Delays: A Legal Study and Relational Approach to Dispute Prevention

    No full text
Delays in construction work execution represent one of the most common forms of default that trigger disputes between employers and contractors. Within Indonesia’s civil law framework, such default entails legal consequences including delay penalties, compensation, contract termination, and enforcement of performance bonds. This study examines these legal implications under the Indonesian Civil Code (KUHPerdata), Law No. 2 of 2017 on Construction Services, and several Supreme Court decisions with permanent legal force namely Decisions No. 294 PK/Pdt/2014, No. 3053 K/Pdt/2011, and No. 60 K/Pdt/2020. The research adopts a normative juridical approach supported by secondary data from literature review and judicial case analysis. It also proposes a dispute-prevention hypothesis founded on effective communication through guanxi, dynamic relationship, and personal approach, aimed at reinforcing loyalty and preventing conflict. The findings reveal that Indonesia’s positive legal system remains sanction-oriented and emphasizes legal certainty, whereas sustainable dispute prevention requires a paradigm grounded in relational trust. Integrating relational approaches into construction contract practice may establish equilibrium between legal certainty and substantive justice

Sustainable Land Management (SLM) Practices in Drylands: How Do They Address Desertification Threats?

Desertification poses a significant and growing threat to drylands worldwide, profoundly impacting biodiversity, livelihoods, and food security. These regions, covering approximately 41% of the Earth's land surface and inhabited by over 2 billion people (United Nations, 2019), are particularly vulnerable due to their low precipitation and fragile ecosystems. Desertification, driven by climatic variations and human activities, leads to the degradation of land, diminishing agricultural productivity, deteriorating water quality, and exacerbating poverty (D'Odorico et al., 2013). In response to these challenges, Sustainable Land Management (SLM) practices have emerged as critical tools in combating desertification and restoring ecological balance in drylands. SLM encompasses a diverse array of strategies aimed at sustainably managing land resources to enhance soil fertility, conserve water, and support resilient agricultural and pastoral systems. These practices not only mitigate the adverse effects of desertification but also contribute to the sustainable development goals by improving ecosystem health and supporting local livelihoods. This paper explores the various SLM practices implemented in drylands, evaluating their effectiveness in mitigating desertification threats through a synthesis of case studies and scientific evidence. By highlighting successful strategies and identifying challenges in the adoption and implementation of SLM practices, this study aims to provide insights into enhancing sustainable land management strategies in the face of escalating desertification pressures. &nbsp

    No full text
Purpose : This study aims to determine the effect of the 7p service marketing mix strategy which includes product, price, promotion, place, people, process, and physical evidence, on patient decisions in choosing a hospital. Design/methodology/approach: the appropriate type of research is explanatory and the approach used is quantitative. The number of samples is 100 people, namely some inpatients at Hospital X, with the Accidental Sampling technique. Data were collected by means of observation and distribution of questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression inferential statistical analysis, and assisted by SPSS version 2023 application processing media. Finding: The results obtained are that product, price, promotion, people, process, and physical evidence have a significant effect on patient decisions in choosing a hospital, while place has no significant effect. Practical implications: this study suggests that hospitals add service products (home care services), provide larger parking spaces and be located in the hospital environment because parking is one of the physical evidence considered by patients/visitors to choose a hospital Originality: this study found that place has no significant effect on patient decisions in choosing Hospital X, possibly because this hospital is a special hospital, so patients ignore the less strategic location of the hospital as a consideration in decision making Paper type: research pape

A Comprehensive Literature Review on The Role of Leadership Styles In Implementation Of Strategic Plans In Malawi State-Owned Enterprises

The development of strategic plans has become sort of a cliché in recent years. However, studies show that developing a strategic plan is way easier than implementing it. The aims of the study are to find out the role that leadership styles play in the implementation of strategic plans and to recommend the most appropriate leadership style for use during the implementation of strategic plans. Data for this study was sourced from relatable previous studies from across the globe and those close to Malawi. The literature was sourced online using Google Scholar search engine. The findings show that indeed, leadership styles have a role to play when it comes to the implementation of strategic plans. The most common leadership styles are transformational, autocratic, democratic, laissez-faire and transactional. The study recommends the use of all other leadership styles except autocratic which is deemed to be oppressive to the team. All the other leadership styles encourage teamwork, commitment and working towards the same goals
