    The Role of Scientific Consultant Librarians in Supporting Academic Research Case Study: Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta

    Many university libraries have provided various facilities that support the information needs of the academic community. However, quite a few students still experience difficulties in finding the sources of information they need and sometimes even have no other alternative to get the appropriate information. In order to meet the demands of the information and research needs of the academic community, especially in the era of society 5.0, the University Library of Muhammadiyah University (UMY) provides scientific consultation services which have now developed into the AskMYLibrarian service. The purpose of this writing is to explain the role of consultant librarians at the UMY Library through the AskMYLibrarian service at the UMY Library. This research uses mixed methods. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and interviews. The research began by distributing questionnaires to 35 respondents consisting of 7 lecturers and 28 students who had used the AskMYLibrarian consultation service, both offline and online. Based on the results of the questionnaire, it was found that 77.1% of respondents strongly agreed that scientific consultation services were important to support academic community research. The consultation service menu provided includes consultation services related to searching for information sources, using a references manager, writing and paraphrasing techniques, guidance on submitting Sinta and Scopus indexed journals, simple data processing (SPSS, PLS, NVivo), and Vosviewer

    E-Handbook as a Guide to Information Technology-Based School Library Management

    This research aims to develop a guidebook for information technology-based school library management, as well as determine the level of product suitability in guiding school library managers in school library management which includes technical services and library services by the National School Library Standards. This research method uses research and development (Research Development) with the Borg Gall model starting from the stages of research and data collection, planning, initial product development, initial trials, revision 1, field trials, and final revisions. The preparation of the guidebook was carried out by collecting data through a literature study. The sampling technique uses the method of accidental sampling, using 11 respondents. The validity of the data was tested by calculating the percentage of product validity, while data analysis used the mixed method. The results of the research are in the form of a guidebook for information technology-based school library management which is packaged in a form flipbook. Based on the results of validation tests and field trials, this guidebook is suitable for use. This is proven by the assessment results given by media expert validators who obtained a feasibility score of 93% or can be categorized as Very Valid, apart from that, a categorized eligibility percentage of 95% was also obtained as Very Valid from the assessment results provided by material expert validators. During the field trials, the feasibility results were 88% or could be categorized as Very Valid. The overall results of the assessment scores given to products that have been developed can be categorized as Worth it to be used as a guide for school library management

This information is obtained from various sources, one of which is from libraries. In the current digital era, the development and changes in reading interest have begun to shift from regular libraries to digital libraries or what are often called Online Libraries. Digital libraries are quite flexible and provide many conveniences to their users. This study uses a quantitative method with a descriptive approach.     Libraries face challenges in attracting public attention in the digital era, and the use of social media is increasing. Therefore, it is important to explore how social media can be used as an effective promotional tool to raise public awareness of library services. This study aims to analyze library promotion strategies through social media and identify their benefits and impacts on interactions between libraries and users. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method, which involves collecting and analyzing literature related to the use of social media in library promotion. The study results indicate that social media can increase user engagement, expand audience reach, and facilitate two-way communication between libraries and the public. In addition, visual content and active interaction on social media platforms have proven effective in attracting user attention. Social media is a very potential tool to promote library services, increase public awareness, and build stronger relationships between libraries and their users

    INFORMATION SEARCH PATTERNS OF DEPRESSION SUFFERERS IN FULFILLING MENTAL HEALTH INFORMATION NEEDS

    This study aims to find out the model of information search process are carried out by depression sufferers at Cahaya Bunda Cirebon Mother Children Hospital to obtain information, especially regarding mental health by using the information seeking behavior model by Kuhlthau known as ISP (Information Search Process). The research method used in this study is a qualitative research method with a case study approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and literature studies. The results of the study show that the construction that depression sufferers go through from the stage of uncertainty to understanding and in this search for information there are 6 (six) stages, namely The initial stage, aware of the need for information so that the search for information is motivated by motivation in searching for information; Topic Selection Stage; Information Search Stage;  Crosscheck and validation stages to expert individuals including psychologists/psychiatrists; Collection Stage, collecting information that has been sorted; and Final Stage, characterized by storing information for oneself and the emergence of feelings of satisfaction and relief.     Comparative Analysis of the Effectiveness of the Faculty Library with the Diponegoro University Library

    Documentation is one word that has been mentioned so far. But actually this word The university library is a supporting institution established to support the activities of the university's academic community where it is located. The university library policy states that the Higher Education library is part of higher education support activities. With the existence of a library, universities can fulfill their obligations to their citizens. The purpose of this study is to find out how enthusiastic the Diponegoro University community is towards the faculty and university libraries. Descriptive qualitative methods were used for this study which passed a questionnaire approach. The results of this study, First, there is a low frequency of visits by users to college libraries, both Diponegoro University libraries and faculty libraries. Second, many respondents stated that faculty libraries do not yet have adequate library service quality, so that users find it difficult to find the information they need. Third, many respondents prefer to visit Diponegoro University libraries to find information.. This research is not perfect but it is hoped that it will be useful for faculty and university librarians to evaluate and develop their respective libraries

    Survey on The Need of Labelling Tools Kit

    Labelling books is one of the technical activities in the processing section of the library. This research is an initial study of the need to provide tools for labelling books, so as to provide convenience in the technical process of pairing bibliographic information in one book. The survey method was conducted on 21 librarians working in school libraries in West Java province. The results obtained were that every school librarian already had technical competence in processing library materials, and stated that they needed tools for the process of placing book labels. The librarians state that labelling is one of the library management activities to make the align collections or shelving easier for librarians so that collections can be accessible to library users. It is also beneficial for shelf reading to check if a library collection is improperly shelved and effectively locate missing or stolen books In addition to accessibility and shelf reading purposes, spine labels also give a sense of tidiness in the library because they are aligned and have the same size label used
