Modified Training Circuit: an Effective Solution to Improve Handspring Skills in Floor Gymnastics
This study aims to analyze the effect of circuit training modification on improving handspring ability in floor gymnastics in students of the Jayapura City Special Sports School (SKO). The background of the study was based on the low mastery of handspring (only 30% of students were able to perform the technique correctly) which was indicated by weak arm push, hip flexibility, and balance. The method used was an experiment with a true experimental design, involving 30 students who were divided into experimental groups (provided with modified circuit training) and control (comparator). The intervention was given for 12 meetings, focusing on explosive arm muscle power training, hip flexibility, and balance. The results showed a significant increase in the experimental group (average 1.673) compared to the control (0.687), with a P value <0.05. These findings prove that circuit training modification is more effective in improving handspring ability because of its holistic and specific approach. This study recommends the integration of this method into the physical education curriculum to optimize floor gymnastics learning

The post-pandemic era has transformed athletes’ training habits, with social media emerging as a vital medium that supports independent training among student athletes. Despite its growing use, limited studies have examined its post-pandemic impact. This study aims to explore how social media contributes to athletes’ motivation, consistency, and independence in training when traditional facilities have resumed. Method: Using a qualitative design, eight student athletes were purposively selected. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model to identify key themes.
Findings reveal that social media platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube serve as alternative learning spaces for technical, physical, and mental training. They enhance flexibility, motivation, and engagement. Social media significantly supports self-directed learning and motivation, complementing conventional training methods while fostering independence, discipline, and innovation among student athletes in the post-COVID-19 context
Relationship between Coaches’ Leadership Style and Athletes’ Satisfaction toward Coach and Sports Performance Satisfaction at National and Provincial Levels
This study aims to determine the relationship between coaches’ leadership style and athletes’ satisfaction toward their coach and sports performance satisfaction among junior athletes at the national and provincial levels in West Java. The research employed a quantitative descriptive approach with an associative survey design. The sample consisted of 47 athletes enrolled in the Sentra Pembinaan Olahragawan Berbakat Nasional (SPOBNas) and Satuan Pendidikan Olahragawan Daerah (SPOBDA) of West Java, selected through purposive sampling. Research instruments included the Leadership Scale for Sports (LSS), Satisfaction Scale for Athletes (SSA), and Athlete’s Subjective Performance Scale (ASPS). Data were analyzed using Spearman’s Rank correlation test with a significance level of 0.05. The results revealed a strong and significant positive relationship between the coach’s leadership style and athletes’ satisfaction toward the coach (rₛ = 0.684; p < 0.01), but no significant relationship between leadership style and satisfaction toward sports performance (rₛ = 0.151; p > 0.05). These findings indicate that coaches’ leadership plays a crucial role in shaping athletes’ interpersonal satisfaction, whereas performance satisfaction is more influenced by internal factors such as motivation and personal experience. The study highlights the importance of adopting adaptive, participative, and humanistic leadership styles in the coaching of young athletes.

VALIDITY AND RELIABILITY OF THE INDONESIAN VERSION OF THE INTERNATIONAL PHYSICAL ACTIVITY QUESTIONNAIRE AMONG STUDENTS: A CONFIRMATORY ANALYSIS USING THE ACTIGRAPH GT3X+ ACCELEROMETER
Questionnaires and accelerometers are the most commonly used instruments by researchers to analyze physical activity. This study aims to evaluate the relationship between physical activity measurements using two methods: the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) and the Actigraph GT3X+ device. The study sample consisted of 27 male and 23 female students from Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. The instruments utilized in the research were the Actigraph GT3X+ accelerometer and the IPAQ. Data analysis was conducted by correlating the data obtained from the IPAQ and the Actigraph GT3X+. The results indicated that there was no correlation between IPAQ and Actigraph GT3X+ across various physical activity intensities. Further analysis is required, considering an increased sample size and minimizing self-reporting biases through a more structured approach to achieve more accurate results
SELF-HEALING AS A SOLUTION TO OVERCOME STRESS IN FINAL SEMESTER PHYSICAL EDUCATION STUDENTS AT UNIVERSITY
This study aimed to determine the effect of self-healing on the stress level of final students of sports education education at Muhammadiyah University of Jember. Self-healing is a process of treatment or healing that is carried out based on self-confidence and is also supported by the environment and also external factors. This study uses a quantitative method using a questionnaire instrument with a target of 20 participants from the sports education study program at Muhammadiyah University in Jember. The finding of this article is that the effect of self-healing is proven to be able to minimize stress levels when working on which students are often easily emotional, anxious, overthinking, and even difficult to digest material, therefore with self-healing students can be helped to reduce their burden of thought when working on a thesis
A QUALITATIVE EXPLORATION OF INDIVIDUAL MOTIVATION FOR INTERMITTENT FASTING SUPPORTED BY EXERCISE USING SELF-DETERMINATION THEORY
Obesity remains a global health issue with significant physical, social, and psychological impacts. One increasingly popular approach to managing obesity is the Intermittent Fasting (IF) diet. This study aims to examine the motivation and effectiveness of IF among fitness center members who also engage in regular exercise. Using the Self-Determination Theory (SDT) framework, this research explores internal and external factors influencing participants' commitment to IF.This qualitative descriptive study employed semi-structured interviews conducted at Idachi Fitness Metro Indah Mall. Thematic analysis following Braun and Clarke’s six-phase process was used to identify key themes. The findings revealed five categories of motivation: intrinsic regulation, identified regulation, introjected regulation, external regulation, and amotivation. Participants highlighted the benefits of IF, such as weight management, increased energy, and improved sleep quality. These findings underscore the importance of combining IF with exercise for achieving optimal health outcomes. Additionally, external motivations, such as social support and encouragement from trainers, often developed into intrinsic motivations as participants experienced health improvements. Further research is recommended to explore the long-term effects of combining IF and exercise on health and motivation
NUTRITIONAL INTAKE AND ITS IMPACT ON PHYSICAL ENDURACE AND STAMINA OF TAEKWONDO ATHLETES
Physical endurance is the body's ability to sustain physical activity for an extended period without experiencing excessive fatigue. Proper nutrition, physical endurance, and stamina are factors that influence performance, especially in taekwondo athletes. This study aimed to examine the relationship between proper nutrition and physical endurance and stamina. Using a correlational design and a quantitative approach, this study involved 30 athletes selected using a total sampling technique. Data was analyzed using SPSS 22 software. Dietary intake data was collected through a 24-hour food recall questionnaire for 4 consecutive days, while physical endurance was measured using the 12-minute run test (Cooper Test). The results of the analysis showed a significant positive correlation between nutritional intake and physical endurance/stamina, with a Pearson correlation coefficient r = 0.68 and p-value = 0.002, indicating that the better the nutritional intake, the better the physical endurance and stamina of the athletes. Dietary intake data revealed that 78.6% of athletes did not meet the recommended daily nutritional requirements, with 76.67% of athletes having a caloric intake of less than 110% of their daily energy requirements. This indicates that athletes with good nutritional intake have better performance during training and competition
