    Apa yang Menjadikan Remaja Indonesia Bangga Terhadap Bangsanya?

    A person's pride in his nation is the main pillar to support the existence and sustainability of the country. Young Indonesians growing up in the era of digital democracy tend to develop a distinctive national identity and source of national pride compared to previous generations. Unfortunately, various things which become a source of pride for Indonesian adolescents towards their nation are rarely explored. This study aimed to identify various sources of national pride for adolescents in Indonesia. Around 385 respondents (aged 18 – 21 years), consisting of 313 females and 72 males involved in the study. The data in this study were collected using an open questionnaire containing one question, "What makes you feel proud as an Indonesian citizen?". The questionnaire was distributed on various social media platforms. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The results show that Indonesian adolescents are proud of their nation because of the diverse cultures, ethnicities, languages, religions, and cuisines in Indonesia, as well as the rich and beautiful natural resources and the good climate of Indonesia. Furthermore, young Indonesians are also proud of the local people’s quality and characters and the history and struggle of heroes. Various achievements of the Indonesian people have also become a source of pride for Indonesian youths. The findings indicate that the source of Indonesian adolescents' national pride focuses more on the given things than something that the Indonesian people achieve. Anak-anak muda Indonesia yang tumbuh di era demokrasi digital cenderung mengembangkan identitas nasional dan sumber kebanggaan nasional yang khas dibanding generasi sebelumnya. Sayangnya, sejauh ini, berbagai hal yang menjadi sumber rasa bangga pemuda Indonesia terhadap bangsanya tersebut masih jarang dieksplorasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap berbagai hal yang menjadi sumber kebanggaan nasional remaja di Indonesia. Sekitar 385 responden (usia 18 – 21 tahun) yang terdiri dari 313 perempuan dan 72 laki-laki terlibat dalam penelitian ini. Data dalam penelitian ini dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan kuesioner terbuka berisi satu pertanyaan, “Apa yang membuat Anda merasa bangga sebagai warga negara Indonesia?â€. Kuesioner tersebut disebarkan secara daring di berbagai media sosial. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis tematik. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa remaja Indonesia bangga terhadap bangsanya karena keberagaman budaya, suku bangsa, bahasa, agama dan kuliner di Indonesia, sumber daya alamnya yang kaya dan indah, serta iklim Indonesia yang baik. Selain itu, remaja Indonesia juga bangga dengan kualitas dan karakter orang Indonesia, serta sejarah dan perjuangan pahlawan. Berbagai prestasi yang dicapai oleh bangsa Indonesia juga menjadi sumber kebanggaan lain remaja Indonesia. Temuan penelitian ini mengindikasikan bahwa sumber kebanggaan nasional remaja Indonesia lebih pada hal-hal yang sifatnya terberi daripada sesuatu yang dicapai bangsa Indonesia.     Apakah Tugas Stroop Benar-Benar Menimbulkan Efek Ego Depletion? Kajian Eksperimen Pada Sampel Mahasiswa di Indonesia

    While there are pervasive canonical examples of the Stroop task effectiveness to induce the ego depletion effect, there were much less is known about how this paradigm used in the Indonesian samples. Our current study aims to investigate whether the Indonesian version of Stroop task would generate ego depletion effect. Seventy-five university students between the ages of 18 and 21 were randomly assigned into three groups, two depletion and one control conditions. The first and second groups respectively received incongruent and congruent Stroop stimulus through Psytoolkit online experimental psychology platform, and the third group received no stimulus. We administered the online Corsi block test to participants in the experimental group and compared their scores with the control group to determine whether or not ego depletion effect, induced by the Stroop task, had occurred. The findings of this online experimental study demonstrate that there were no significant differences (p > .001) in participants' spatial span scores across three groups. The findings of this study suggest that performing the Stroop task to elicit the ego depletion effect should be carried out with caution. Its implication and recommendation for future research are discussed in the paper

    The COVID-19 pandemic made much influence to human being life, having a systemic impact, life regulation, and stressing situation in Indonesia families. They got depressed and new normality adaptability which determines the functioning and well-being of the family in the future. This study aims examine the adaptation of new normality in terms of family resilience and self-disciplined behaviour. This study used a quantitative approach with a random sampling technique of 253 housewives in Yogyakarta. Data were collected using Google Form (3 scales of adaptation, resilience and seld-descipline).  The results the regresion analysis showed that there was a slight contribution among family resilience and self-disciplined behaviour to the adaptation to new normality of housewife subjects (F count> F table, namely 117.657> 10.597 and Sig F < 5% (0.000 < 0.05). ThIn addition, In addition, the Pearson corellation of the 2 minor hypothesis of this study proved r value .651 between adaptation variable to Self-dicipline and another one with r value .641 between adaptation and family resilience.  The effective contribution of the two variables to adaptability is 48.5%, while the remaining 51.5% is influenced by other variables. These results support the researcher's assumption that mother's resilience and self-disciplined behavior are able to adapt to the demands of the new-normality situation due to the COVID-19 pandemic

    Hubungan antara Mindfulness dengan Kecemasan akan Kematian pada Dewasa Madya

    Death anxiety is an unpleasant emotional state that a person experiences when thinking about death. Anxiety can have a detrimental impact on mental health, especially in the middle adulthood stage, who experience death anxiety more often. One of the effective strategies to deal with death anxiety is to have mindfulness. The concept of mindfulness can help middle-aged adults to stay focused on doing and interpreting every activity or situation without thinking about abstract things, such as death. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between mindfulness and death anxiety in middle adulthood. The total sample of 275 middle-aged adults was selected by accidental sampling technique. Data were collected using the Mindful Attention Awareness Scale (MAAS) and Death Anxiety Scale-Extended (DAS-Extended). The results of data analysis using the Spearman-Brown Formula showed that there was a negative relationship between mindfulness and death anxiety in middle adulthood. In other words, higher mindfulness will be associated with lower death anxiety, and vice versa. Therefore, mindfulness is associated with reduced death anxiety in middle adulthood. Kecemasan dapat berpengaruh buruk pada kesehatan mental, terutama pada usia dewasa madya. Tahapan usia ini lebih sering mengalami kecemasan kematian. Salah satu cara efektif yang dapat dilakukan dalam menghadapi kecemasan kematian adalah dengan memiliki mindfulness. Konsep mindfulness dapat membantu dewasa madya untuk tetap fokus mengerjakan dan memaknai setiap kegiatan ataupun keadaan yang dijalaninya tanpa memikirkan sesuatu yang abstrak seperti kematian. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan antara mindfulness dengan kecemasan akan kematian pada dewasa madya. Partisipan penelitian berjumlah 275 individu dewasa yang dipilih dengan teknik accidental sampling. Pengumpulan data penelitian dengan menggunakan Mindful Atttention Awareness Scale (MAAS) dan Death Anxiety Scale-Extended (DAS-Extended). Hasil analisis data dengan menggunakan Spearman-Brown Formula menunjukkan hubungan negatif antara mindfulness dengan kecemasan akan kematian pada dewasa madya. Dengan demikian, semakin tinggi keadaan mindfulness yang dimiliki individu dewasa madya, maka semakin rendah kecemasan akan kematiannya, begitupun sebaliknya.     Anger management is known to be challenging for adolescents because they often lack experience or coping skills to cope with complex emotions. Intense anger or unassertive anger expression may inflict severe problems on their social, physical, and mental health. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) based online intervention in improving anger management skills in four junior high school students. This mixed method research with the qualitative and quantitative results. The participants of this study are 12 – 15 years old with a high level of anger. The result showed that all participant level of anger decreased significantly, also their anger expression. Participants' anger management also increased significantly compare to the post-test and follow-up test (1-month interval). The qualitative result showed that all participants expressed that their anger management improved after the session. In conclusion, this online CBT proved to be effective in reducing adolescent anger levels and expression and increasing their anger management ability.Perkembangan signifikan pada aspek fisik, kognitif, sosial dan emosional, membuat remaja SMP memiliki tantangan dalam pengelolaan marah.  Intensitas kemarahan yang terlalu kuat maupun pengungkapan yang kurang sesuai seperti pasif maupun agresif, dapat berdampak negatif pada kesehatan fisik, mental maupun sosial remaja. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi experimental dan wawancara kualitatif, bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas intervensi kelompok daring berbasis CBT dalam menurunkan kemarahan dan meningkatkan kemampuan pengelolaan marah pada empat remaja siswa SMP. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini berusia antara 12-15 tahun (M=14) yang melaporkan tingkat kemarahan tinggi. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa terjadi penurunan kecenderungan marah, peningkatan pengelolaan marah, sementara tidak terdapat penurunan signifikan pada kecenderungan memendam marah partisipan saat post test dan follow up. Secara kualitatif, remaja merasa lebih mampu mengelola marahnya. Dengan demikian, intervensi dengan pendekatan CBT dapat membantu remaja SMP menurunkan tingkat kemarahan, meningkatkan pengelolaan marah, meskipun tidak menurunkan kecenderungan memendam kemarahan

    As Covid-19 cases soared in Indonesia, various efforts have been made by the government to overcome the spike in cases. This study aimed to examine the model of compliance with the Covid-19 protocol for migrant Madurese through perceived risk of Covid-19, citizen trust, locus of control, and anti-vaccine attitudes. A total of 245 migrant Madurese community were recruited by purposive sampling. The results showed that the theoretical model of compliance with the Covid-19 protocol was built through Citizen Trust, Locus of Control, and Anti-Vaccine Attitudes, while risk perception as a moderating variable had no effect on the compliance with the Covid-19 protocol. The results also showed that risk perception did not have a significant effect on the compliance with the Covid-19 protocol, but risk perception was influenced by citizen trust and anti-vaccine attitudes. Citizen compliance and anti-vaccine attitudes only had a direct effect on compliance with the Covid-19 protocol without any mediating variables

    Literasi Kesehatan Mental dan Stigma Publik Sebagai Prediktor Sikap Terhadap Bantuan Psikologis Pada Mahasantri

    Abstract. This study aimed to examine the relationship between mental health literacy and public stigma with attitudes towards psychological help among Mahasantri Pesanmasa Unissula Semarang. A sample of 225 respondents as the research trial and 174 respondents as the research sample were involved in this study. The sampling technique used cluster sampling. The measuring instrument consisted of the attitude scale towards psychological help a= 0,720, mental health literacy scale a= 0.814 and public stigma scale a= 0,724. The data analysis technique used multiple regression and partial correlation. The results of the first hypothesis test obtained R= 0.286 and F= 7.608 with p= 0,001 (p<0,01) showed that mental health literacy was able to significantly predict attitudes towards psychological help among Mahasantri. The first partial test between mental health literacy and attitudes towards psychological help obtained rx1y= 0.253, p= 0,001 (p<0,01), showed that there was a relationship between mental health literacy and attitudes towards psychological help while the second partial test between public stigma and attitudes towards seeking profesional psychological help obtained rx1y= -0,043 p= 0,570 (p>0,05), meaning that there was no relationship between public stigma and attitudes towards psychological help among Mahasantri. Hasil uji hipotesis pertama memperoleh R= 0,286 dan Fhitung= 7,608, p= 0,001 (p<0,01), artinya literasi kesehatan mental mampu memprediksi secara signifikan sikap terhadap bantuan psikologis pada Mahasantri. Hasil uji korelasi parsial pertama antara literasi kesehatan mental dengan sikap terhadap bantuan psikologis memperoleh rx1y= 0,253 p= 0,001 (p<0,01), menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan antara literasi kesehatan mental dengan sikap terhadap bantuan psikologis sedangkan uji korelasi parsial kedua antara stigma publik dengan sikap terhadap bantuan psikologis enunjukkan nilai rx1y= -0,043, p 0,570 (p>0,05), artinya tidak ada hubungan antara stigma publik dengan sikap terhadap bantuan psikologis pada Mahasantri.
