IDENTIFICATION OF MORAL VALUES IN EARLY CHILDHOOD GAMELAN GAMES
This research is specifically conducted to find out and focus on the identification of moral values contained in gamelan games at Budi Pekerti Kindergarten Sleman Yogyakarta. Researchers will use qualitative research with a descriptive approach in carrying out research in the field, exploring and processing data. Then the researcher obtained findings in the field which stated that there were several moral values such as character values that appeared in gamelan games at Budi Pekerti Kindergarten, including: sensitivity, harmony, self-adjustment, self-confidence, cooperation, socialization, being able to position themselves according to the demands of the times and perseverance. These values start from gamelan learning which is prepared through planning activities tailored to children's abilities, then implementing appropriate activities so that they can be realized and evaluations used in playing gamelan to see the development of successful behavior in the implementation of gamelan learning. Field results also show that activities/toys/learning carried out by carefully designing concepts will make it easier for teachers or coaches to achieve the expected goals, as well as gamelan games on children's character values at Budi Pekerti Kindergarten Sleman Yogyakarta
ACCULTURATION OF BETAWI DANCE AS A FORM OF SPREAD OF CHINESE CULTURE (SIPATMO DANCE STUDY)
The cultural component of the group itself is gradually assimilated into other cultures. The openness of a community will cause its culture to be influenced by the cultures of other communities, which can lead to cultural acculturation. Chinese culture is one of the cultural blends in the Jakarta area. The Sipatmo dance first appeared in the 17th century and advanced in the 18th century under the leadership of Memeh Karawang (originally Tan Gwat Niao). The purpose of this study is to determine the existence of the Sipatmo Betawi dance and the acculturation of the Betawi dance with Chinese culture. Therefore, descriptive research methods are used because this research aims to obtain answers related to people's responses, opinions, and perceptions. The results of these findings state that many residents do not know that the Sipatmo dance is a traditional Betawi dance that originates from there. Many of them do not know that the Sipatmo dance, which is also known as the Cokek dance, was originally a complementary dance performed during rituals at a temple. Even if this ownership is to be registered to clarify the category of regional culture, this depends on the art holders who are domiciled as citizens spread across the various administrative areas concerned
ANALISIS BENTUK DAN MAQOM SHOLAWAT TARKHIM DI MASJID JAMI’ ASSAGAF, PASAR KLIWON, SURAKARTA
Penelitian ini berawal dari ketertarikan mengamati takmir Masjid Jami’ Assagaf yang selalu konsisten mengumandangkan Sholawat Tarkhim, yang dipancarkan melalui pengeras suara yang berada di menara masjid, pada setiap menjelang adzan di waktu sholat Subuh, Dhuhur, Ashar, Mgrib, kecuali sholat Isya’, karena waktu antara Magrib ke Isya’ digunakan untuk kegiatan rutin (pengajian). Aktifitas tersebut sudah berlangsung sejak tahun 1990, hingga sekarang (2024). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami bentuk pelaguan Sholawat Tarkhim di Masjid Jami’ Assagaf, yang dilafalkan oleh Mahmoud Khalil Al Hussary, dan menjelaskan dampak dari Sholawat Tarkhim terhadap Masyarakat sekitar Masjid Jami’ Assagaf. Dalam penelitian ini dikaji menggunakan teori bentuk musik dan teori fungsi musik. Teori bentuk musik digunakan untuk mempermudah dalam menelaah dan memahami bentuk lagu Sholawat Tarkhim, dan teori fungsi musik digunakan untuk mengetahui fungsi lagu Sholawat Tarkhim. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: pertama, bahwa bentuk pelaguan Sholawat Tarkhim memiliki 3 (tiga) bagian yakni Verse, Courus, dan Reff. Kedua, bahwa Sholawat Tarkhim menggunakan Maqam Bayati, namun memiliki ciri khas irama sendiri. Ketiga, Sholawat Tarhim yang dikumandangkan di Masjid Jami’ Assagaf memiliki dampak positif terhadap masyarakat sekitar. Kata Kunci : Sholawat Tarkhim, Masjid Jami’ Assagaf
THE CULTURE OF TOLERANCE IN THE SHORT FILM "WEI"
"Wei" is a family-style short film released in 2020. This research will discuss religious tolerance in diverse societies like Indonesia. The film "WEI" is the subject of research that describes the values of religious tolerance through family relations in the film story. This research aims to know the meaning of tolerance in this film. The method used is narrative analysis; this film will identify the meaning, character development, and tolerance values in the story's beginning, middle, and end. The values of tolerance include recognition of family rights and mutual understanding between the film characters. This film illustrates that religious tolerance can grow through the appreciation of individual rights and understanding between different religious beliefs. This study concludes that tolerance is essential in social life, especially in the family, because tolerance itself is one of the reasons for the harmony of families with differences or religious convictions. As a family film, this film differs from some family films in Indonesia, where the main character, from the beginning to the end, has no dialogue. Still, the expression and character can explain the character's purpose to the audience in the film; this is the distinction between the Film Wei and the other family films
KAJIAN ESTETIKA BATIK SAWUNGGALING SURABAYA
Batik, warisan budaya Indonesia yang diakui UNESCO, mencerminkan identitas daerah yang unik. Batik Sawunggaling dari Surabaya menonjol karena warna-warna cerah dan motif berani. Penelitian ini menelaah estetika batik Sawunggaling dengan mengacu pada teori estetika Djelantik, menyoroti interaksi antara bentuk, substansi, dan presentasi dalam desainnya. Metodologi yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif, mencakup wawancara dengan pengrajin lokal dan tinjauan literatur. Analisis menunjukkan bahwa motif Sawunggaling, yang menggambarkan pertarungan mitologis antara ayam jago, bukan hanya hasil keterampilan artistik tetapi juga mengandung pesan kepahlawanan dan ketangguhan, mencerminkan etos budaya Surabaya. Estetika motif ini terlihat dari garis dan bentuk dinamisnya, serta bobot makna yang diungkapkan melalui simbolisme warna dan pola. Presentasi batik ini menggabungkan teknik tradisional dengan pengaruh kontemporer, menekankan kemampuan batik untuk beradaptasi dan tetap relevan dalam konteks budaya modern. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa batik Sawunggaling berfungsi sebagai ikon budaya yang menjaga identitas komunal dan kesinambungan sejarah Surabaya. Temuan ini memperkuat pemahaman tentang peran batik sebagai media ekspresi dan pelestarian budaya di era globalisasi, serta kontribusinya dalam mempertahankan warisan budaya melalui seni tradisional
BALI PAINTING MARKET: A BRIEF HISTORY AND EXPLORATION OF VARIOUS FACTORS AFFECTING ITS DEVELOPMENT
This article presents a brief history of the art market in Bali and explores the various factors that have influenced its development. We also examine how local culture, the tourist market, village networks, government policies, and the global art market have shaped the trajectory of Balinese art. These forces include the assumption of local culture to art, the commercialization along with the opening of the tourist market, the local network based on village lives, the state policy to promote Balinese art and culture, and the effects brought by the booming of the global art market dominated by financial capital. Local concepts with cultural specificity are pivotal in our analysis, for example, the role culture plays in art practice nowadays and before, and what influence it brings to the transformation from art for religious purposes to cultural products for commerce. In conclusion, we highlight that the Balinese art market stands apart from other local art markets worldwide due to its close connection with Bali's reputation as a renowned tourist destination. ANALISIS PEKERJAAN KURATOR PERTUNJUKAN PADA FESTIVAL GUGUS BAGONG 2022
Secara spesifik tujuan dari analisis pekerjaan adalah untuk menetapkan basis rasional dalam perencanaan terhadap kebutuhan-kebutuhan sumber daya manusia. Pada ranah berkesenian, khususnya di Yogyakarta, salah satu dinamika yang kerap ditemui adalah tingginya intensitas penyelenggaraan pameran dan pertunjukan. Hal ini berpengaruh pada rancangan untuk mengoptimalkan kualitas sumber daya manusia demi keberlangsungan agenda secara optimal. Artikel ini menyajikan informasi mengenai betapa pentingnya analisis pekerjaan dalam manajemen pada Festival Gugus Bagong 2022 yang diinisiasi oleh Padepokan Seni Bagong Kussudiardja. Desain penelitian menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Pendekatan naratif dalam penyajian data menjadi kesempatan untuk menggambarkan secara detail dan mendalam tentang temuan yang dihasilkan dari analisis data. Teks naratif digunakan untuk menggambarkan temuan penelitian secara rinci dan mendalam, memungkinkan pembaca untuk memahami konteks, kompleksitas, dan subtil dari data yang dikumpulkan. Melalui proses menginvestigasi peran dan tanggung jawab Kurator pertunjukan dalam konteks festival seni lokal, penelitian ini mencoba mengidentifikasi elemen-elemen kritis yang mempengaruhi kualitas dan keberhasilan kurasi seni. Temuan ini menguraikan aktivitas analisis pekerjaan yang berpengaruh pada keberhasilan kurasi seni melalui sinergi dan integrasi elemen kuratorial, teknis, dan sosial secara menyeluruh dalam konteks Festival Gugus Bagong 2022
ANALISA PRINSIP PROXIMITY DAN SIMILARITY PADA KHAT DIWANI JALY KARYA HAMID AYTAC
The elements of proximity and similarity was basic principles in typographic design. So far, these elements have only been used on objects such as logos, animations, monuments, and graphic designs. Meanwhile, the study of artwork in the form of Arabic calligraphy is still very minimal, even though it also has these elements. This study aim to identify these elements in a piece of Yusuf surah: 101 written by Turkish calligrapher, Hamid Aytac in the Diwani Jaly khat type written in 1348 AH. This work has become a reference for calligraphy students today. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method, data sources are documents of calligraphy works written, then analyzed using gestalt theory in the form of proximity and similarity elements. The results showed that Hamid's work contains elements of proximity and similarity. The element of proximity is found in the writing of letters in the work that are close together in a balanced manner. The similarity element is found in the hollow of the letter ba' from the sentence rabbi which has a similar shape to the letter kaf from the sentence al-mulk, the letter tsa from the sentence al-ahadits, the letter ta' from the sentence al-samawat and the letter nun from the sentence anta. Then, the concavity of the letter ya' of the sentence ataitani has similarities with the letter ya' of the sentence allamtani. The nun of the sentence min is similar to the lam of the sentence ta'wil. While at the end of the verse, the similarity element is found in the letters wawu, ya’ and nun in the sentence tawaffani musliman wa alhiqni bi al-shalihin. This finding shows that Hamid's work has aesthetic value based on the typographic perspective in the form of the principles of proximity close edge and shape similarity
PERTUNJUKAN SILAT PANGEAN SEBAGAI ATRAKSI WISATA BUDAYA DI KECAMATAN PANGEAN KABUPATEN KUANTAN SINGINGI
Kecamatan Pangean memiliki banyak warisan turun temurun yang masih eksis sampai saat ini, salah satunya adalah seni bela diri yang cukup terkenal sampai ke belahan nusantara, seni bela diri ini dinamakan Silat Pangean dikarenakan berasal dan dikembangkan di wilayah kecamatan Pangean. Silat Pangean awalnya adalah seni bela diri yang tidak boleh dipamerkan dikarenakan kerendahan hati masyarakat Pangean, namun dengan seiringnya perkembangan zaman perlahan silat pangean mulai dimainkan saat penutupan laman (tempat latihan) tepatnya pada hari raya idul fitri setiap tahunnya, pertunjukan silat inipun menjadi daya tarik pariwisata yang dibanggakan oleh masyarakat Pangean sampai sekarang tentunya dengan dukungan pemerintahan setempat. Pariwisata pertunjukan seni silat pangean yang dibanggakan oleh masyarakat kuantan singingi tentunya harus terus didikung agar bisa berdampak baik bagi kesejahteraan dan kepopuleran pariwisata di rindonesia khususnya pada industri pariwisata di kecamatan pangean itu sendiri, dengan begitu sangat dibutuhkan peran aktif dari pemerintah, masyarakat dan swasta untuk berperan aktif membangkitkan pariwisata yang ada di daerah yang mempunyai banyak potensi pariwisata seperti Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi. MUSIC INTERACTION AND MOVEMENT IN JAVANESE DANCE: CASE STUDY ON BEKSAN BEDHAYA GANDAKUSUMA MANGKUNEGARAN STYLE
The music and movement patterns in Javanese dance occupy a significant position, which both of them have an integral relationship in forming the construction of a dance. It represented through the relationship between dance music and the technique of composing and executing movement patterns. This article examines the integral relationship between dance music and movement patterns to determine the importance of these two components in the formation of Javanese dance . The case study chosen to show this integral relationship is the Mangkunegaran style of Bêdhåyå Gåndåkusumå dance. The bêdhåyå dance is the result of absorption carried out by K.G.P.A.A. Mangkunegara VII (1916-1944) through a learning system at Kridha Beksa Wirama Yogyakarta. This research uses an ethnochoreological approach in the form of qualitative research. The position of dance as a multidimensional object in the ethnochoreological approach is seen through the choreographic dimension, which is expected to be able to describe the integral relationship between dance music and movement patterns in forming a Javanese dance construction. Data collection techniques were carried out through participatory observation, literature study, and interviews. Based on research results in the Bêdhåyå Gåndåkusumå dance, the technique for composing movement patterns always pay attention to the instrument colotomy of dance music. Gêndhing rhythms have contributed to realizing the aesthetic stability of the execution of a series of movements
