Get PDFStaphylococcus aureus is a common pathogen causing a wide range of infectious diseases in humans and animals. This bacterium secretes a variety of exoproteins, including toxins known as superantigens, such as toxic shock syndrome toxin-1 (TSST-1) and enterotoxins. Staphylococcal superantigen-like (SSL) proteins are a family of exoproteins showing structural similarities with superantigens but no superantigenic activity. This family is composed of 14 members (SSL1-SSL14), and recent studies have revealed that these members exhibit various immunomodulatory activities: e.g., inhibition of antibody and complement functions, impairment of leukocyte trafficking, modulation of receptor functions, inappropriate activation of immunocytes, and inhibition of blood coagulation. These activities have been proposed to contribute to immune evasion of the bacteria. The interactions between SSL proteins and their target molecules in the host immune system and the pathophysiological roles of SSL proteins in the bacterial infections are reviewed in this article
Examining the Effects of Off-the-Pitch Activity on Competitiveness in a College Soccer Team
Get PDF本稿は，大学生のサッカーの競技力向上とオフザピッチの活動の関係について検討することを目的とした。大学サッカー部が実践しているブラインドサッカーを題材としたイベントの取り組みについて，中心的に関わった学生 7名のインタビュー調査を実施し SCAT法にて分析を試みた。分析の結果，「外部（一般社会）との関わり」「他者への想像」「ブラインドサッカーの意義」「サッカーとの関わり・影響」の 4つの構成概念が抽出された。オフザピッチにおける本イベントの実践は，学生たちのコミュニケーションの質的向上を促し，主体的な思考と行動が引き出されたと考えられる。こうした能力がサッカーをする前提となり大学サッカー部の戦績に影響したことが示唆された。This pape rexamines the relationship between the development of competitiveness in university soccer players and their off-the-pitch activities. We interviewed seven students regarding their participation in an event to experience blind soccer organized by their university soccer team and analyzed their responses utilizing the SCAT method. Through this analysis, four constructs were determined: "Relationship with the outside（general society）," "empathy for others," "significance of blind soccer," and "relationship with and influence on their soccer. "Participation in this off-the-pitch event appeared to have improved the quality of communication between students and elicited independent thought and action. It is suggested that these traits are essential for success in playing soccer and impact the results of the university soccer team as a whole.論文 / Article

Get PDFこんにち、国際社会において薬物政策に変化が見られるようになっている。薬物政策はどのような方向へ向かおうとしているのか。また、日本における薬物政策にも変化の兆しを見つけることはできるのだろうか。本稿を通じて、国際社会における近年の薬物政策を概観し、これまでの刑事司法の考えに基づく不寛容主義や厳罰主義を乗り越え、人権や健康権の視点から治療や支援を行なうモデルへと転換がはかられようとしていることが見えてきた。一方、日本の薬物政策では、従来の徹底した取り締まりを貫き、国際社会で注目されているハームリダクションの視点を導入する考えはいまのところ見られない。しかし、医療や社会復帰を支援するプログラムなどが少しずつ取り入れられはじめ、新しい視点から薬物問題の解決を図ろうとする動きは生じている。Today, the international community is seeing changes in drug policy. In what direction is drug policy going? Can we also find signs of change in drug policy in Japan? Through this article, the author was able to gain the following viewpoints. First, some countries in the international community aim to overcome intolerance and strict punishment based on the idea of criminal justice and to provide treatment and support in terms of human and health rights. Secondly, in Japan’s drug policy, there is currently no idea of sticking to the conventional thorough crackdown and introducing the perspective of harm reduction, which is drawing attention in the international community.
