Overcoming Foreign Language Anxiety (FLA) (part 1)
Foreign language anxiety (FLA) has long known to be one of the crucial factors that will interfere with a person's performance in mastering a language other than their native language (Rokiah & Misieng, 2012). This article will discuss the theory of foreign language anxiety (FLA), its impact on language proficiency and the most likely causes of this anxiety. This paper will also examine whether a person's communication weakness is closely related to foreign language anxiety. The study will run on first-year students who will start a new semester session in April 2021. The proposed study will start in 2021 and will complete by the end of January 2022. The study will use the FLSCA questionnaire constructed by Horwitz et al.(1986) and students' ability level will be measured by the university yearly placement test. This study is more of action research where students' anxiety about English will be monitored according to stages, which are at the beginning and the end of the first term semester, and the beginning and end of the second term semester. The level of foreign language anxiety of students will serve as the basis for selecting suitable language teaching methods for the freshman . Test anxiety which is one o f the variables in the theory of foreign language anxiety, will be avoided by replacing the English class examination throughout the semester with group work with group or pair work assignments
Enhancement of Cornified Envelope-Related Gene and Protein Expression by Carba Cyclic Phosphatidic Acid in Normal Human Epidermal Keratinocytes
The aim of this study was to examine the effects of carba cyclic phosphatidic acid (ccPA) on cornified envelope (CE) formation and keratinocyte differentiation. ccPA-treated keratinocytes showed higher mRNA and protein levels of differentiation markers and CE components than untreated cells. These results suggest that ccPA could serve as therapeutic targets for treating skin barrier dysfunction because of their roles in upregulating genes and proteins associated with CE formation and keratinocyte differentiation
Effect of Lactic Acid Content into on during Miconazole Eye Drops to be Used for Infection Preventive
Purpose: The aims of this study were to prepare a 0.1% Miconazole (MCZ) eye-drop solution and to evaluate the stability and physical properties of the preparation. Methods: For 0.1% MCZ eye-drops (containing 1mg/mL MCZ), a Normal Saline Solution (NSS)-added system in which MCZ injection was diluted with NSS, an L-lactate Ringer’s Solution (LRS)-added system diluted with LRS and NSS, and a lactic acid-added system diluted with lactic acid and NSS were aseptically prepared. The storage conditions for the NSS-added system were dark condition (25°C, RH84%), cold condition (4°C), and severe condition (40°C, RH82%). The LRS-added system and the lactic acid-added system were stored only at 4°C.Results: MCZ eye-drops diluted with physiological saline showed a reduction in MCZ content to approximately 90% after 2 weeks of storage at 4°C, and precipitates were confirmed in the eye-drop solution. The pH was maintained at 4.8 and the osmolality at 280mOsmol/kg. When lactic acid was added at concentrations of 1% and 0.5%, MCZ precipitation was confirmed after storage for 4 weeks, and the MCZ content decreased to ≤ 90%, with a pH of approximately 3.0-3.5. However, when 0.3% lactic acid was added, the MCZ content was maintained after 4 weeks, but the pH dropped to about 3.9.Conclusion: These results suggest that storing MCZ eye-drops at 4°C for 7 days is reasonable. In addition, the storage period could be extended up to 4 weeks under conditions of 25°C, RH84% or 40°C, RH82%. MCZ eye-drop solution containing 0.3% lactic acid can remain stable for 2 weeks when stored at 4°C.This is an open-access article distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License, which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original author and source are credited
Hydrogen Peroxide-Triggered Conversion of Boronic Acid-Appended Insulin into Insulin and Its Application as a Glucose-Responsive Insulin Formulation
p-Boronophenylmethoxycarbonyl (BPmoc) is a protecting group for amines that is removable by treatment with hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). We prepared BPmoc-modified insulin (BPmoc-Ins) and subcutaneously injected the formulation into diabetic rats. The results demonstrated that BPmoc effectively sealed the blood glucose (Glc)-lowering effects of Ins. Conversely, coinjection of BPmoc-Ins and Glc oxidase (GOx) resulted in reduced blood Glc levels, indicating that Ins was generated from BPmoc-Ins through the following reactions: oxidation of endogenous Glc by GOx; production of H2O2 accompanied by Glc oxidation; removal of BPmoc residues by H2O2. These results show the potential of BPmoc-Ins for a Glc-responsive Ins release system

Japanese National Railways Transport Improvement Plan and Tokyo Godo Response in Interwar Period
This paper covers the business alliance between the Japanese National Railways before the war and Tokyo Godo Transport Co., Ltd., which was a major company in the small transportation industry. The proposal presented by the Japanese National Railways was to properly use trucks to streamline transportation in the Tokyo district. Tokyo Godo was trying to rationalize the transportation method in order to accept this proposal. This idea was implemented. However, the development of truck transportation has been rapid, and further use of trucks has progressed under the surface. This plan had to be abolished immediately. The importance of the business alliance shows that the investment-saving Japanese National Railways had to cooperate with the small transportation industry. It is a future task to proceed with case studies of business alliances and consider the ideal state of the transportation industry as a whole.通巻第44号, 論文 / Article
Inter-regional Population Migration by Gender using Extended Gravity Formula ― A Case of Mie Prefecture ―
This paper aims to understand the actual situation, clarify the determinants and prediction of inter-regional population migration in Mie Prefecture after the end of Japan’s highgrowth period in 1975. The inflow and the outflow population migration functions (4 patterns) by gender during the observation period in the years 1975 to 2017 were estimated by the Extended Gravity Formula. Then, I analyzed the factors of the migration decision based on the contribution rate and performed the prediction simulation from 2018 to 2030. As a result, the contribution rate of Extended Gravity is high for both population inflow and outflow, and ‘the ratio of job offers to applicants’ has almost no effect. In addition, the population inflow has a high contribution rate of housing conditions, and the outflow has a high rate of ‘the school enrollment’. Furthermore, in Mie Prefecture, a policy to prevent population outflow is necessary because excess population will continue attracting good companies and resulting wage increases.論文 / Treatise
