Spin-crossover cobalt(ii) complexes exhibiting temperature- and concentration-dependent optical changes in solution
Get PDFThis work investigated the spin states of the cobalt(II) complexes [Co(L1)2](X)2 (1·X; L1 = 4'-(4-N,N'-diphenylaminophenyl)-2,2':6',2''-terpyridine, X = PF6, BPh4) and [Co(L2)2](X)2 (2·X; L2 = 4'-(4-N,N'-dimethylaminophenyl)-2,2':6',2''-terpyridine, X = PF6, BPh4) in the solid state and in solution. In the solid state, 1·PF6 and 2·PF6, both containing smaller PF6- counter anions, showed gradual spin-crossover. In contrast, 1·BPh4 and 2·BPh4 remained in the high-spin state over the temperature range of 5-400 K due to a lower degree of molecular cooperativity. Each of the cobalt(II) complexes exhibited effects of temperature and concentration on their absorption spectra that were related to the spin states in various organic solvents. This work provides new insights into the spectroscopic properties resulting from the spin states of cobalt(II) complexes in solution.This article is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported Licence
Asymptotic analysis for confluent hypergeometric function in two variables given by double integral
Get PDFWe study an integrable connection with irregular singularities along a normally crossing divisor. The connection is obtained from an integrable connection of regular singular type by a confluence, and has irregular singularities along x = ∞ and y = ∞. Solutions are expressed by a double integral of Euler type with resonances among the exponents in the integrand.We specify twisted cycles that give main asymptotic behaviors in sectorial domains around (∞,∞). Then we obtain linear relations among the twisted cycles, and get an explicit expression of the Stokes multiplier. The methods to derive the asymptotic behaviors for double integrals and to get linear relations among twisted cycles in resonant case, which we developed in this paper, seem to be new.Creative Commons CC-BY 4.
Preventive/Ameliorative Effects of Curcumin Derivative CUD003 on Depression-like behavior
Get PDFうつ病は誰もが罹患する可能性のある精神疾患であり、その予防法および有効な治療薬が求められている。本研究では、クルクミン誘導体CUD003のLPS誘発うつ様行動に対する予防効果について検討した。CUD003の連続予防投与は、LPS投与によるうつ様行動発現を有意に抑制した。その効果はCurよりも低濃度で認められた。また、LPSによる血中の炎症性サイトカイン濃度（IL-1βおよびＴＮＦ－α）の上昇を、CUD003は有意に抑制した。以上の結果より、CUD003は、連続予防投与することでCurよりも強くうつ様症状発症を予防すること、それには炎症反応の抑制が関与することが示唆された。In this study, we investigated the possible mechanism of the preventive effect of CUD003 on depression-like behaviors induced by LPS in mice. Male BALB/c mice were orally pretreated with Curcumin or CUD003 for 5 days before single intraperitoneal administration of LPS (0.5 mg/kg). Plasma interleukin (IL)-1β and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α levels were evaluated. Furthermore, reactive oxygen species (ROS) level in the hippocampal CA1 region was assessed. Our results showed that CUD003 prevented depressive-like behavior induced by LPS. Moreover, proinflammatory cytokine levels increased in the plasma and enhanced oxidative stress with elevated levels of ROS in the hippocampus 24 h after LPS administration. Pretreatment with CUD003 suppressed all these changes. Fact-finding survey on awareness of food with health claims - Targeting general consumers and medical workers -
Get PDF保健機能食品（特定保健用食品・栄養機能食品・機能性表示食品）に関する理解の程度を明らかにすることを目的とし，2017年11月と2018年3月にインターネット調査を行った．対象者は，一般消費者300人と医療従事者（薬剤師，管理栄養士，看護師）392人を対象とした．調査項目は，対象者の属性（性別，年齢），健康食品の使用経験，保健機能食品の内容に関する認知と知識の程度である．本研究における健康食品の定義は「保健機能食品ならびに健康の維持向上を目的としたすべての食品」とした． 調査の結果，全対象者の半数以上が健康食品の使用経験者であった．一般消費者の約20％が健康食品を医薬品だと思う，医薬品に近いと思うと回答した．3種類の保健機能食品の認知および知識の程度は一般消費者が最も低かった．医療従事者における認知および理解は，職種による程度の差が見られ，管理栄養士が薬剤師，看護師よりも高い傾向を示した．保健機能食品のうち，特定保健用食品の認知度がどの集団においても高かった．これは，制度開始から20年以上が経過したためと考えられる．一方，2015年から制度が始まった機能性表示食品の認知度は，どのグループにおいても低い傾向にあった． これらの結果から，保健機能食品についての知識は医療従事者においても，十分ではない可能性が示された．今後は，一般消費者の保健機能食品の適正かつ安全な利用を目指し，医療従事者間での情報共有が必要である．同時に，保健機能食品を含めた健康食品に関する新たな情報提供体制の構築が必要である．また，一般消費者においては，自分の健康に責任を持ち，自ら情報収集を行うとともに，健康食品手帳（消費者庁）などの利用を進めることが望まれる．An internet survey was conducted in November 2017 and March 2018 with the aim of clarifying the level of understanding regarding foods with health claims (foods for specified health uses, food with nutrient function claims, foods with function claims). The subjects were 300 general consumers and 392 medical workers (pharmacists, registered dietitians, nurses). The items of survey included the subject’s attributes (gender, age), experience of using health foods, awareness and knowledge of the contents of foods with health claims. Health foods in this study were defined as “foods with health claims and all foods intended to maintain and improve health". From results of this study, more than half of all subjects had experience using health foods. Approximately 20% of general consumers answered that they think health foods are medicines or similar to medicines. General consumers had the lowest level of awareness and knowledge of the three types of foods with health claims. There were differences in the degree of awareness and understanding among medical workers depending on the type of job. Registered dietitians tended to have higher awareness and knowledge than pharmacists and nurses. Among foods with health claims, awareness of foods for specified health uses was high in all groups. This was thought to be due to the reason that more than 20 years have passed since the system was started. On the other hand, awareness of foods with function claims, which the system was started in 2015, tended to be low in all groups. These results indicate that knowledge of foods with health claims may not be sufficient, even among medical workers. From now on,information sharing among medical workers will be necessary to ensure the appropriate and safe use of foods with health claims. Simultaneously, it is necessary to establish a new system for providing information on health foods including foods with health foods. It is also expected that general consumers to take responsibility for their own health, collect their own information, and use health food handbooks (Consumer Affairs Agency)
