We constructed a mathematical model to predict the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) free radical scavenging capacity (IC50) for recently synthesized ferulic acid derivatives by machine learning with molecular orbital energy as an explanatory variable and IC50 as an objective variable. We compared 96 regression models including xgbLinear and neuralnet included in R/caret package. We were able to construct IC50 prediction models for these new ferulic acids by using xgbLinear, M5, ppr, and neuralnet as regression methods.速

Demand Trends, Restoration Issues, and Directions for Technological Development in the Telegraph and Telephone Business in Japan during the Postwar Reconstruction Period

    Get PDF
This paper examines the restoration of the telegraph and telephone business in Japan during the postwar reconstruction period. During the period 1945-1952, the Japanese government formulated and implemented a number of plans to restore the telegraph and telephone services, but restoration was delayed. This was due to the enormous damage caused by the war and the explosion of civilian demand that had been postponed. Under these circumstances, however, the Japanese electromechanical companies sought the right technological response to the conditions of the postwar reconstruction period, and they sought the direction of electronic technology.通巻第48号, 論文 / Articles JEL classification: L63, L78, N45, N65, O25, O38, O5

Regional collaboration activities to achieve the SDGs - Case study of environmental activities with Sakado City

    Get PDF
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), unanimously adopted at the United Nations Summit in 2015, are 17 comprehensive goals for the international community to achieve by 2030, which address a wide range of economic, social, and environmental issues in an integrated manner, with the aim of creating a society in which “no one is left behind.” Goal 4, “Education,” aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education for all and promote lifelong learning opportunities, while Goal 11, “Sustainable Cities,” aims to realize inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable cities and human settlements. Goal 17, “Partnerships for the Goals,” calls for collaboration among various stakeholders to achieve each goal.On the other hand, from the perspective of student learning, it is said that “experience,” which is “interaction between humans and the external environment,” is important, rather than one-way learning from teachers. In this context, we carried out environmental activities in collaboration with Sakado City in a seminar as part of our community collaboration activities towards achieving the SDGs at the university, and examined their effectiveness.論文 / Article 編集:城西大学・城西短期大学地域連携センター紀要編集委員

On active sonar-type wave scattering inverse problems fordifferent types of cavities

    Get PDF
In this paper, we survey the active sonar-type inverseproblem based on the wave equation. We adopt the enclosure methodand discuss the inverse problem of detecting different types of cavities. We address the issues caused by ‘mixed media’ by dividing them intotwo types: ‘separated’ and ‘non-separated’ for mixed media where thesign of the indicator function is not determined. Furthermore, in a newattempt, we assume high smoothness at the boundary of the cavitiesand perform a higher-order expansion of the indicator function

Managerial Ability and Earnings Quality in Japanese Firms : An Empirical Analysis

    Get PDF
This study investigates the link between earnings quality and managerial ability in Japanese firms using seven indicators for evaluating earnings quality. Accounting information is crucial in capital markets, facilitating efficient resource allocation. High-quality earnings information and the factors influencing it are essential. This study examines this relationship among firms listed on the Japanese stock market across 27 industries over 11 years. The positive correlation suggests that higher managerial ability corresponds with higher earnings quality, offering valuable evidence to academics and managers. This is the first empirical analysis of the earnings quality-managerial ability relationship in Japanese firms, thereby enhancing existing research.論

A Research Review on Game IP Expansion Strategies Utilizing the Metaverse

This study aims to systematically review prior research on the integration of the metaverse and game IP, clarifying theoretical issues and research gaps by providing a comprehensive overview across the domains of technology, user experience (UX), and institutional design. The study first examines the evolution of definitions and structural components of the metaverse, then categorizes and analyzes research related to UX design, virtual economies based on NFTs and blockchain, educational applications, and discussions on ethical risks. It further identifies three central axes of debate: (1) technological optimism versus social concerns, (2) economic value versus social value, and (3) UXcentered design versus institutional and structural approaches. Unresolved challenges such as the lack of theoretical frameworks for spatial co-creation and the insufficient empirical examination of AI-NFT integration are also highlighted. This review, through the integrated reorganization of fragmented prior studies, contributes to establishing an academic foundation for research on metaverse and game IP integration.論
