    The objectives of this research are to improve: (1) the learning motivation in the Vocational Competency subject matter through the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) learning model; and (2) the learning achievement in the Vocational Competency subject matter through the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) learning model.This research used the classroom action research with two cycles. Each cycle consisted of three meeting. Each meeting lasted for 2 x 45 minutes. Its subjects were the students as many as 33 in Grade XI-Light Vehicle Engineering Program 4 of Ganesha Tama Vocational High School of Boyolali. The research was collaborative in nature among the researcher, subject matter teacher, observer, and students. It began with simulation on the subject matter teacher. The data of research were collected through observation, test, questionnaire, and documentation. The procedure of research included the following stages: (1) action planning, (2) action implementations, (3) observation and interpretation, and (4) analysis and reflection.  The result of research shows that there is an improvement of learning motivation and achievement in the Vocational Competency subject matter in terms of process and product through the application of the NHT learning model. In cycle I the learning motivation was 73.61%, and it became 77.30% in cycle II. Moreover, the number of the students who gained improvement in the learning achievement was 22 (66.67%) in cycle I, and 27 (82.00%) in cycle II

    The use of a steam carburetor is one way to reduce exhaust gas emissions where it works by mixing fuel and air in the room with an evaporation process so that the air and fuel mixture is more homogeneous. This study aims to see (1) the effect of using a steam carburetor on exhaust gases on a Supra X motorcycle; (2) the effect of using variations in exhaust gas emissions on the Supra X motorcycle; (3) the effect of using steam carburetors and fuel variations on the exhaust emissions of the Supra X motorbike. This research is a research, quantitative, descriptive, comparative, with experimental methods. The research used the 2x2 method which consists of independent variables using steam and conventional carburetors as well as variations of pertalite (RON 90) and pertamax (RON92) fuel. Exhaust gas emission testing is guided by the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) with three repetitions, for 20 seconds times the test The results of the study are as follows: First, the use of a steam carburetor produces lower exhaust emissions compared to conventional carburetors on a 100cc Supra X motorcycle. Second, pertalite fuel (RON 90) produces lower exhaust emissions compared to Pertamax fuel (RON 92). Third, the effect of using the type of carburetor and the type of fuel that produces the lowest exhaust emission, namely the steam carburetor using the combined splash and bubbling method with pertalite fuel with an average of 0.52% CO and 273.67ppm HC.

    The Purpose of this research are to know chemical composition, find micro structure, find impact strength, find speciment’s hardeness level on allumminium cast wheel before and after Tungsten Inert Gas welding. The speciment on this research is aluminum cast wheel or aluminum velg. The data analysis on this research is a comparative descriptive method, that the observation result is analyzed by description. And then compare the observation result between the data before TIG welding or before conducted preheating and PWHT. The parameter of analyze data are included: the testing of chemical composition, microstructure, hardness and impact. Based on the result of this research, it can be concluded that the cast wheel material is aluminum type cast alloy AA.445.2 which has non-heat treatable characteristic. The research results show that the microstructure of Al grain in the HAZ region fused with primary aluminum (α-Al) and grain Si alloy formed between the primary α-Al. The impact strength value on the welded speciment is higher than impact strength value before welding those are 0.0616 J/mm2 and 0.0384 J/mm2. Hardeness level on the speciment before welding processes is 103,381 VHN. The number is higher than after on the welding area, the hardeness level is lower too that is 44,051 VHN, whereas the hardeness level an the HAZ is a 37,943 VHN and 35,465 VHN on the base material

    This research aims to (1) develop an instructional material based animation software for CNC course, (2) evaluate instructional material for CNC course that has been developed. The research was conducted at the Department of Mechanical Engineering Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sebelas Maret University Surakarta. This research used Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) as research procedure, which consists of six stages, concept, design, collecting material, assembly, testing and distribution. Evaluation of instructional material for CNC course was performed by ask potential users to operate CNC instructional material that have been developed, then get response from potential users through a questionnaire. Potential users are divided into two categories, lecturers of CNC and CAM courses and students of Mechanical Engineering Education who take CNC and CAM courses in the academic year 2015/2016. Questionnaire for lecturers of CNC and CAM course reviewing instructional material from aspects of learning content, interaction, and presentation of the material. The questionnaire was given to 3 lecturers consisting of 15 point statements with Rating Scale as assessment system on intervals 1-5. Questionnaire for student reviewing instructional material from aspect of learning motivation as one of instructional material function. Questionnaire was given to 26 students consisting of 20 point statements with Likert Scale as assessment system on intervals1-5. The results of the research show (1) the development of instructional material for CNC course used Adobe Flash CS6 as main software with MDLC as development procedure, (2) the evaluation results show the instructional material for CNC course that developed gets (a) in aspects of learning content, interaction, and presentation of the material, the instructional material for CNC course gets very good category with percentage 90,22%, (b) in the aspect of learning motivation as one of instructional material function, the instructional material for CNC course gets good categories with percentage 78,39%

    This aims of this research are to determine the relationship of student micro teaching-learning achievement with student readiness to be a teacher.  An educational internship experience is essential to be analyzed as being a teacher.  The study population was 69 active students. Fifty-eight students taken as samples were determined by simple random sampling technique. The documentation method is used to analyze micro teaching and PPL learning achievement variables. The variable readiness to become a teacher is obtained through the questionnaire method. Various tests were carried out with the help of the SPSS Version 21.0 program. Normality tests, linearity tests, and multicollinearity tests were carried out as test prerequisites. The data analysis technique uses partial correlation and multiple linear regression with a significance level of analysis of 5%. The results of the study show that the student learning achievement of microteaching on the readiness to be a teacher has a positive and significant relationship. Student Internship experience influences the readiness to be a teacher. The learning achievement of microteaching and Student Internship experience is considered to make big effect for being a teacher.  Keywords: Learning achievement in Microteaching, learning achievement in Field Experience Program, preparedness to become teacher

    The purpose of this research are: (1) Investigate the influence of the type of electrolyzer on Hydrogen Eco Booster towards the level of exhaust emissions (CO and HC) 4 stroke motorcycle. (2) Investigate the influence of the kind of solvent on Hydrogen Eco Booster towards the level of exhaust emissions (CO and HC) 4 stroke motorcycle. (3) Investigate the influence of the type of electrolyzer and the kind of solvent on Hydrogen Eco Booster towards the level of exhaust emissions (CO and HC) 4 stroke motorcycle. This research was conducted at the Automotive Laboratory of Mechanical Engineering Education, Teacher Training and Education Faculty Sebelas Maret University of Surakarta used a Honda Supra X 125 motorcycle, year of manufacture 2013. This study is an experimental research. The method of collecting data used in the research is measurement method. The data obtained from the test results were analyzed using Two-Way Anova Test and followed by One-Sample T Test and Scheffe Test. The results of this research are: (1) There is a significance effect on the type of electrolyzer on Hydrogen Eco Booster towards to decrease the level of exhaust emissions (CO and HC) 4 stroke motorcycle, (Sig-value of CO gas=0.001 < α=0.05) and (Sig-value of HC gas=0.000 < α=0.05). (2) There is a significance effect on the kind of solvent on the Hydrogen Eco Booster towards to decrease the level of exhaust emissions (CO and HC) 4 stroke motorcycle, (Sig-value of CO gas=0.000 < α=0.05) and (Sig-value of HC gas=0.000 < α=0.05). (3) There is a significance effect interaction between the type of electrolyzer and the kind of solvent on the Hydrogen Eco Booster towards to decrease the level of exhaust emissions (CO and HC) 4 stroke motorcycle, (Sig-value of CO gas=0.000 < α=0.05) and (Sig-value of HC gas=0.000 < α=0.05). The lowest CO gas obtained on the Wet Cell type using the kind of solvent KOH with a decrease of 84.41%. The lowest HC gas obtained on the Dry Cell type using the kind of solvent NaOH with a decrease of 69.62%

    The objective from this research is to find Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) how the learning implementation design (RPP) made by TKR teachers at SMK Negeri 2 Sukoharjo that meets Higher Order Thinking Skills elements; (2) implementation of learning activities carried out by TKR teachers at SMK Negeri 2 Sukoharjo; (3) implementation of learning assessments made by TKR teachers at SMK Negeri 2 Sukoharjo which leads to elements of higher order thinking skills. This research is a mixed methods research. Data sources came from 98 students from TKR XI, Teachers of Smk Negeri 2 Sukoharjo. Data techniques include questionnaires, documentation and observation. This study uses data validity using sampling techniques and the Slovin formula. The research procedure consists of research methods, preparation of research instruments, data collection, data analysis, drawing conclusions. The conclusion is (1) The Learning Implementation design (RPP) made by TKR class XI teachers at SMK Negeri 2 Sukoharjo has damaged it to fulfill the elements of higher-order thinking skills; (2) The implementation of learning activities by TKR teachers at SMK Negeri 2 Sukoharjo has attempted to implement learning activities that lead to higher-order thinking skills; (3) The assessment or evaluation of learning made by TKR teachers at SMK Negeri 2 Sukoharjo has led to elements of measuring higher-order thinking skills

    The purpose of this study were: (1) to know the effect of adding various variations of camphor powder in pertalite to the moment of torque and power of the 2010 Yamaha Vixion, (2) to determine the effect of using iridium spark plugs on the torque moment and power of the 2010 Yamaha Vixion; and (3) investigate the effect of adding various variations of camphor powder in pertalite and the use of irridium spark plugs to the torque moment and power of the Yamaha Vixion 2010. This study uses a Yamaha Vixion 2010 motorbike with police number AD 2057 BO, and framework number MH33C1005CK959299 This study uses an experimental method design. These data are analyzed by descriptive statistics which means describing the data collected only in the way it is. The results of the study are as follows: (1) There is the effect of adding various camphor powder to pertalite fuel on increasing maximum torque and power in a combination of 1 gram / liter pertalite and camphor powder, (2) There is the effect of using torque and power iridium spark plugs lower than using standard plugs, (3) There is the effect of adding various camphor powder in pertalite fuel and iridium plugs used are a decrease in torque and power in all treatments

    In this modern era, almost every student has a smartphone. They use it everyday, not only for communication but also education purpose.  Technologies can be used in education by developing an instructional material based on a smartphone. The aims of this research to improve an e-publication module by identifying the student profile. MDLC (Multimedia Development Life Cycle) model is used. It consist of 6 stages: concept, design, collecting material, assembly, testing, and distribution. The student's profile was identified by using a learning style questionnaire and preference assessment. It consists of defining references, module frameworks, and storyboard. Encompasses system testing and testing by experts was taken. Professional teacher in education and instrument expert was invited and did assessment. They evaluated instructional material has made. The research showed the developed module is dominated in the form of text. Learning system media based e-publication compatible with low specs smartphone. Expert score reach 78.87%, it mean good instructional media. Teachers as the subject of this instructional media earned 96.4%. Its mean E-publication help students to learn better

    The objective of this study to specify the effect of the use of model variation free flow exhaust and spark plug racing against torque, power and the noise level generated. This research is descriptive quantitative experimental method. The sample used is the Supra X motorcycle 125d which uses exhaust components and the plugs are standard. Data obtained from the measurement of torque, power and noise levels using a tool Sportdyno V3.3 and Sound Level Meter to perform replacement treatment models as well as the free flow exhaust racing spark plugs compared to standard conditions. The research show that use of exhaust and spark plugs have signification variations were tested. Of all the test results obtained torque decreases from all experimental treatments. Lowering the lowest torque obtained on the use variations of free flow exhaust and spark plug racing. At the same usage also generated the increase in power and the noise level of the most significant
