The Feasibility and Utility of Gratitude Intervention for Suicidal Internet Users
application/pdfGratitude has received attention as a protective factor that contributes to suicide prevention, and several studies have shown that gratitude intervention in hospitalized patients has a suicide prevention effect. We conducted a gratitude intervention for suicidal internet users, and examined the feasibility and effectiveness of the intervention. This is a single-arm study of gratitude intervention ("counting blessings") among Japanese internet users with high suicidal ideation (N = 225). The experiment consisted of a baseline period of approximately 4 weeks and an intervention period of approximately 4 weeks. The main factor measured was suicidal ideation. The dropout rate was 16.5% during the baseline period and 24.5% during the intervention period. Commitment to gratitude intervention was significantly associated with reduced suicidal ideation, after controlling for mean suicidal ideation in the baseline period and other demographic variables. Gratitude intervention has the potential to develop into a suicide prevention tool that can be used by suicidal internet users who do not necessarily have access to psychiatric care.研究ノートdepartmental bulletin pape
Survey of Waka University Students on Their Attitudes toward Going out During the COVID-19 Pandemic
application/pdf\n本研究では、和光大学の学生を対象に、コロナ禍での外出についてどのような意識を持っているのか、個人差に焦点をあて検討することを目的とした。「コロナ禍での外出に対する意識」尺度が作成され、223名が回答を行った。因子分析により、「外出自粛へのネガティブ感情」「外出自粛へのポジティブ認識」「外出時の罪悪感」「外出時の感染不安」「外出時の平静さ」「外出時の高揚感」の6因子が得られた。これら6 下位尺度によりクラスター分析を行い、「外出不安群」「外出自粛享受群」「外出享受群」「外出葛藤群」「外出平静群」の5 タイプを得た。続いて分散分析により5タイプのストレス反応の違いが検討された。考察では、作成された尺度が測定する概念、外出に対する意識に関する5つの学生タイプの違い、ならびに今後の課題が議論された。研究ノートdepartmental bulletin pape
Science Classes Based on Children's Cognitions Research
application/pdf理科という科目は、観察・実験を手段とするため、教師側が想定する学習者像は「無垢な状態」で授業内容を受け入れる存在と考えられがちである。筆者自身の理科授業観が転換した経験を踏まえ、理科授業における学習論の変遷にふれることで、子どもなりの自然事象の捉え方(子どもの科学)に着目する意義について述べた。
教育研究において、子どもの自然認識を研究することは、学習者の意味構成を促進する理科授業の構築に結実する。そのための方法論を吟味することで、積極的な意味構成者としての子どもとかかわる教師(授業者)の立ち位置を明らかにすることができる。和光大学で教育・研究に携わってきた8年間は、大学生に、「大学生」はもちろん、「子ども」、「教師」という存在を行き来する想像力を培ってもらうことだった。departmental bulletin pape
Reconsidering the Mythology of Goddesses : With Special Reference to the Sun Goddess/ Kingship-Protecting Goddess
application/pdfTwo themes are treated in this paper: The first is that we could perhaps obtain better insights by analyzing visual symbols more intensively in the myths and religions of areas and ages where and when there were no or scarce written records; The other consists of actual analyses of the myths and religions of goddesses of such areas and ages. I argue that there is a possibility that a type of Sun Goddess/Kingship-protecting Goddess existed in the Eastern Mediterranean area of the Neolithic and Bronze ages and in Japan during the Bronze/Iron age (i.e. From the Yayoi era to the Tumulus era).
本稿では二つの課題を検討してみた。一つは文字資料が「ない」あるいは「少ない」地域や時代の神話と宗教を、図像を活用することでより知ることができるのではないかという考え方であり、第二に、そのための対象としてそうした地域や時代の女神について選択し、比較し、そしてある種のタイプとして確定する作業である。主な対象としたのは1.新石器時代から青銅器時代の東地中海世界と2.青銅器/鉄器時代(弥生時代から古墳時代)の日本である。そしてそれら地域では太陽女神/王権女神が共通して存在したのではないかと論じた。departmental bulletin pape
Japanese Pacifism in Embryo : “ Heiwa( Peace)” and Pacifism
application/pdfNihon-Heiwa kai, or The Peace Society of Japan, was established in 1889, and the Society published its journal Heiwa( Peace) from 1892 to 1893. Nihon-Heiwa kai was the very first society in Japan which sought to realize pacifism. Pacifism seemed to be on a rising tide in the world at the end of 19th century, because peace societies were established in one country and another and the first international peace conference took place in 1889. Nihon-Heiwa kai tallied with the universal trend.
The aim of this article is to analyze the characteristic elements of pacifism of Nihon-Heiwa kai, by surveying Heiwa. Among those elements at the first stage of pacifism in Japan, what counts is that, with lofty ideals as well as courage or unconquerable spirit, war was denied as absolute evil and that soldiers were no better than slaves because of their voluntarily abandoning human rights.
Beyond more than a century, Japanese pacifism in embryo, shown by Heiwa, suggested to us its similarity with the anti-nuclear weapon movement, because, with regard to the absolute evil, war is to the pacifism what nuclear weapon is to the anti-nuclear weapon movement.
