    ABSTRACTThe aim of this research are to: (1) know the stream direction of shallowgroundwater in the area of sugar palm flour industry at Daleman, Tulung, Klaten in2012. (2) know the quality of shallow groundwater to drink in the area of sugar palmflour in Daleman, Tulung, Klaten in 2012. (3) know the appropriatness of the shallowgroundwater to drink in the area of sugar palm flour in Daleman, Tulung, Klaten in2012.This research used descriptive qualitative method. analysis method. Thepopulation of the study is the entire shallow groundwater in the area of sugar palmflour industry in Daleman. The sampling technique used in this study is purposivesampling.Based on the result of the research, it can be conclused that: (1) The streamdirection of shallow groundwater in the area of sugar palm flour industry atDaleman,Tulung, Klaten 2012 goes to Bendo river. (2) The quality of shallowgroundwater from the well in the area of sugar palam flour industry atDaleman,Tulung, Klaten 2012is classified into 2 classes of water quality, those arewater quality of C class (medium) which is contaminated in middle level consists ofthree sample groundwater in Bendo; as well as the water quality of D class (bad) whichis contaminated in high level, consists of one sample groundwater in Margoluwih, twosample groundwater in Tuban and three sample groundwater in Bendo. (3) Based onthe appropriatness of groundwater quality to drink in the area of sugar palm flourindustry at Daleman,Tulung, Klaten 2012 show that the groundwater taken as sample isnot appropriate to drink..Keywords: Ground water, Quality for water, Sugar palm flour Industry

    ABSTRACTThe objective of research is to find out the effect of: (1) learning style on achievement motivation on the living environment material learning Achievement in the XI Social Science Graders of SMA Al-Islam I Surakarta in the school year of 2011/2012, (2) on the living environment material learning Achievement in the XI Social Science Graders of SMA Al-Islam I Surakarta in the school year of 2011/2012, and (3) learning style and achievement motivation on the living environment material learning Achievement in the XI Social Science Graders of SMA Al-Islam I Surakarta in the school year of 2011/2012. This study employed an ex-post facto method. The population was all XI Social Science graders of SMA Al Islam 1 Surakarta in the school year of 2011/2012 consisting of 176 students. The sampling technique used was random sampling technique consisting of 72 students. Technique of collecting data used for learning style and achievement motivation variables was questionnaire with likert scale. For data on student learning result, documentary technique was used.     The purposes of this study are (1) to know data distributions of geography mastery level on senior high school students based on national exam in Surakarta in 2010 – 2012; (2) to know differences of geography mastery level on national exam in 2010 – 2012 between state senior high school and private senior high school students, then between senior high school with specific accreditation category; (3) to know teacher problems on learning process on less geography mastery of senior high school students in Surakarta in 2010 – 2012.            This study is a mixed methods research. The population in this study is all senior high school in Surakarta. Sampling technique is non random sampling or non sampling. Data collection technique were interviews and documentary studies. Technique of analysis in this study is descriptive statistic for quantitative data and analysis of Miles and Huberman Model for qualitative data.            Based on data analysis, the result of this study can be presented as follows : (1) Data distribution of geography mastery level on senior high school students in 2010 – 2012 are 25% State Senior High School and 42% Private Senior High School have low geography mastery level. However, the level of geography mastery on senior high school students is increased. (2) Geography mastery level between state senior high school and private senior high school students, then between senior high school with accreditation A, B, and C category is increased. However, geography mastery level on state senior high school students better than private senior high school students. Whereas, geography mastery level on senior high school students with specific accreditation category can be concluded that there is no significant differences, because of good geography mastery level and low geography mastery level ratio is balanced in 2010 until 2012. (3) The problems learning caused the mastery lowly are low students competence, the learning process too monotonous, low students interest and motivation, lack the standard references ownership for teachers, teachers with recent graduates are slightly so that the majority of teachers have trouble to understanding the new material, low teachers activity in scholarly activities, absence of a laboratory for geography learning, and at least the role of government institutions in the standardized subjects implementation.Kata Kunci : Penguasaan/ daya serap, Pemetaan, Ujian Nasion

APPLICATION MODEL NUMBERED HEADS TOGETHER (NHT) TO INCREASE ACTIVENES AND RESULT OF LEARNING IN STUDY OF GEOGRAPHY ON THE BASIS OF COMPETENCIES IDENTIFY THE TYPES OF NATURAL SOURCES CLASS XI CHRISTIAN HIGH SCHOOL KALAM KUDUS SUKOHARJO IN THE SCHOOL YEAR OF 2011/2012.This research aim to to know the activeness and result of learning in study of Geography class XI Christian High School Kalam Kudus Sukoharjo in the school year of 2011/2012 with the model study cooperative Numbered Heads Together (NHT). The scope of the material on the basis of competencies identify the types of natural resources. Pursuant to result of research cycle the average activity of the students were still positive at 82.66% while the average amount of student learning outcomes in learning Geography 69.92 (76%). In Cycle II activity of students in the learning process has increased, marked by the average activity of the students were positive at 90.66% with the learning outcomes of students in learning geography also increased to 76.64 (88%). Complete to so that learn the student individually and also clasikal have been fufilled. As for complete boundary by clasikal 85% from amount of student getting value 67 up. From inferential research result that application model study cooperative Numbered Heads Together (NHT) can improve the activeness and result learning student in study of Geography

    PENGARUH EROSI TERHADAP PRODUKTIVITAS LAHAN DAS WALIKAN KABUPATEN KARANGANYAR DAN WONOGIRI TAHUN 2012

    ABSTRAKPurpose of this research was (1) Determine the erosion in the watershed Walikan 2012.(2) To know the land productivity in the Watershed Walikan 2012. (3) To know theeffect of erosion on land productivity in Watershed Walikan 2012. This research usedquantitative – descriptive analysis method. The results show that the greatest class inthe watershed Walikan is very low class which has area of 5143.83 hectares or 91.86%,while the greatest land productivity class is high land productivity class which has areaof 1808.32 hectares or 55.69%. The influence of erosion on land productivity is -0.529which has mean moderate level, with negative correlation form. If there was ten-folderosion increasing, the land productivity was reduce to Rp 3.382.818,00 as well as ifthere was ten-fold erosion decrease, the productivity would increase byRp 3.382.818,00; the erosion give 27,9% as contribution major contribution influencingland productivity.Kata Kunci : Erosi, Satuan Lahan, Produktivitas, Pengaru

(2). Landuse and income level. (3). Education level and landuse with level income. This research is using a correlational descriptive method. The population of research is all farmers in Subdistrict of Jumantono for about 18.786 people. The technique sampling is using proportional random sampling technique for about 165 people. The data collection technique of education level variable, landuse, and income level are using quisionaire and observation. The analyze technique is using correlation technique and double regretion analyzis. Based on the result of this research can be concluded that there is no relationship between formal education level and income level. (2) Landuse has not significant relationship with income level. (3) Education level and landuse have not significant relationship with income level

    The objective of this research were (1) To find out the improvement of learning achievement in basic competency of describing living environment conservation in relation to sustainable development using STAD learning method. (2)To find out the improvement of the students’ geography learning achievement in the basic competency of describing living environment conservation in relation to sustainable development using STAD learning method. This study was a Classroom Action Research (CAR). The research was conducted in two sicluss. Each siclus consisted of determining the problem focus, planning, acting, monitoring, analyzing and reflecting. The subject of research was the XI IPS 2 Graders of SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta, consisting of 30 students. The data source derived from learning process in the classroom, result of evaluation test in siclus I, result of evaluation test in second siclus, geography learning motivation questionnaire of siclus I, geography learning motivation questionnaire of second siclus, and secondary data. Technique of collecting data employed were observation, document study, geography learning achievement test, and geography learning motivation questionnaire. The procedure of research used was self-reflection spiral model. The result of research showed: (1) the learning using Student Teams Achievement Divisions method could improve the geography learning motivation in the basic competency of describing living environment conservation in relation to sustainable development in second siclus. (2) The learning using Student Teams Achievement Divisions could improve the geography learning achievement in the basic competency of describing living environment conservation in relation to sustainable development in second siclus. Subjects were media experts, materials experts, educators, and learners. The technique of sampling used is proportional random sampling and data collection instruments using sheet media expert validation, materials specialists, educators, trial questionnaires, observations, pre-test and post-test and documentation.The results of this study are portal-based e-Learning Geography Moodle to enhance the ability of networking and spatial abilities obtain good results and declared unfit for use. The effectiveness of the use of E-Learning Portal-based on Geography Moodle to improve Networking obtain good results measured from the increased active learners in the class of liveliness by 25% (+ 9) of the amount students increased to 58.3% (+ 20 people) and more effective than the use of E-Learning Portal-based Edmodo Geography active learners which improves 38.4% (+ 15 people). Effectiveness of E-Learning Portal-based on Geography Moodle to enhance the Spatial Ability based on Independent Sample T Test shows t arithmetic 5.376 and  t table  1.66 (5% significance level) so it is more effective to use in the learning process.Keywords: E-Learning, Moodle, Spatial Skill

    Muh. Ario Bayu P. K5407033. SPATIAL ANALYSIS OF BASE TRANSCEIVER STATION (BTS) IN SURAKARTA 2012.Thesis, Surakarta:Teacher Training and Education Faculty. Sebelas Maret University. The objectives of research are: (1)To know the BTS spatial distribution pattern of Surakarta in 2012, (2) To know the signal’s range of BTS of Surakarta in 2012,(3)To know the characteristic of user mobile cellular phone on Surakarta 2012. The method used is a descriptive method.Population of this research is the all of BTS tower unit in Surakarta.The sampling technique used ofmobile cellular phone user was multistage random sampling obtaining 150 respondents were taken from different operators.The number of the each operator’s correspondents is based on the percentage of the number of BTS. This research is using primary data and secondary data. The interviews and questioners are the primary data since the documentation study for the secondary.The technique of data analysis are map analysis, nearest neighbour analysis and crossed-table analysis. This research conclude: (1)Spatial distribution of BTS tower of Surakarta in 2012 are majority located in Banjarsari, 67 units or 36,41% of the total number of BTS tower influenced by high population, wide area,and some important facilities which located in here. Most of BTS unit in Surakarta located in flat area. Distribution pattern of BTS in Surakarta is close to random with T=0,5989, (2)The signal range of BTS in Surakarta is about 1 kilometer per unit. It’s depicted from the signal range of BTS that available to cover all of Surakarta’s district, although we still can find blankspot area in several places. Considering the BTS distribution in Surakarta that close to each other and more over the existence of different BTS operator in one tower, we cab conclude that the main street and central of Surakarta became the most valuable area of celluler operator (3)The characteristic of the cell phone users in are majority graduated from senior high school with the age 15-24 year sold, income Rp 500.001,00 – Rp 1.000.000,00 and profession of the cell phone users as private member. Beside those varieties, price of the service is still become the main consideration for people in choosing operator
