October, 2014.This research aimed (1) to find out the spatial transformation in urban sprawl process in Banyuurip Sub District in 2004-2014; (2) to find out the development of settlement existing in Banyuurip Sub District in 2004-2014; (3) to find out the social transformation occurring in Banyuurip Sub District due to spatial transformation in 2004-2014; and (4) to find out the benefit of current research to geography subject in the twelfth grade.The approach used in this research was the spatial one. This study was a qualitative research and the method used was case study method. Technique of collecting data used included (1) interview, (2) observation/direct observation, and (3) secondary data analysis. The data analysis was carried out using (1) observation on spatial transformation with image interpretation, (2) settlement development, and (3) societal social transformation process.Considering the result of research conducted, it could be concluded that (1) the fiscal spatial development occurring in Banyuurip is the centrifugal horizontal process and the urban sprawl type occurring in this sub district is the jumping one; (2) the settlement width in 2004 was 129,0499 Ha increasing by 1.293% in 2014 to 187,3633 Ha, (3) the social transformation occurring in Banyuurip Sub District characterized by the increase in population number in 9 villages, the increase in the constructed land width by 0.542%, the increase in the number of economic social facility, and the modernization occurring in communication field. (4) The benefit of current research was that it served as supplement to learning material of geography subject for the twelfth grade particularly in the Basic Competency of analyzing the distribution pattern and the spatial interaction between village and city for local economic development.Keywords: Urban Sprawl, Settlement Development, Spatial Transformation, Social Transformation
Kesiapsiagaan Komunitas Sekolah Dasar terhadap Bencana Rob di Kecamatan Sayung, Kabupaten Demak Tahun 2014 (Sebagai Bahan Pengayaan Pembelajaran Geografi Pada Materi Pokok Mitigasi dan Adaptasi Bencana Alam Kelas X)
ABSTRACTThe objectives of this research are to investigate: (1) the preparedness of Primary School teachers in Sayung sub-district to deal with inundation disaster; (2) the preparedness of Primary School students in Sayung sub-district to deal with inundation disaster; (3) the preparedness of Primary School institutions in Sayung sub-district to deal with inundation disaster; and (4) the preparedness of communities of Primary Schools in relation to spatial analysis of schools in coastal area in Sayung sub-district. This research used the descriptive qualitative research method. Its population was communities of 8 State Primary Schools exposed to inundation in Sayung sub-district. The samples of research were State Primary Schools in Bedono, Sriwulan, Timbulsloko, and Surodadi villages exposed to inundation, teachers, school institutions, and students. They were taken by using the snowball sampling technique. The data of research were collected through in-depth interview, observation, and documentation. The validity of data used triangulate. They were analyzed by using the cognitive test and attitude scale of teachers, students, and school institutions to deal with the inundation disaster. The results of cognitive test and attitude scale were to classify the preparedness of teachers, students, school institutions, and communities of Primary Schools to deal with inundation disaster. The results of research are as follows: 1) One Primary School has teachers with the high-category preparedness to deal with inundation disaster, and seven schools have teachers with medium-category preparedness to deal with inundation disaster. 2) Three primary schools have students with the high-category preparedness to deal with inundation disaster, and five schools have the medium-category preparedness to deal with inundation disaster. 3) Two school institutions have the high-category preparedness to deal with inundation disaster, and six school institutions have the medium-category preparedness to deal with inundation disaster. 4) Four communities of Primary Schools have the high-category preparedness to deal with inundation disaster, and other four communities of Primary Schools have the medium-category preparedness to deal with inundation disaster. EVALUASI PEMENUHAN SARANA DAN PRASARANA PENDIDIKAN SEKOLAH DASAR DI KECAMATAN KARANGGAYAM KABUPATEN KEBUMEN TAHUN 2014
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) mengetahui persebaran Sekolah Dasar; dan(2) mengetahui pemenuhan sarana dan prasarana Sekolah Dasar di Kecamatan Karanggayam, Kabupaten Kebumen Tahun 2014.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian survei, jenis penelitian survei dipilih untuk mendapatkan data yang lebih banyak terdapat di lapangan dan dapat melihat fakta-fakta mengenai variabel yang akan diteliti. Unit analisisnya adalah administrasi dengan pengambilan sampel yang dilakukan secara selektif, populasinya adalah seluruh SDN di Kecamatan Karanggayam dan sampelnya adalah 15 unit SDN yang diambil dengan pertimbangan tertentu. Pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini yaitu observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah teknik analisis peta dan menggunakan model gravitasi, analisis pemenuhan sarana dan prasarana pendidikan dari segi kualitas dan kuantitas serta analisis data sekunder.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) persebaran SD di Kecamatan Karanggayam memiliki pola persebaran yang dilihat dari nilai gravitasi antara 2 wilayah, hasilnya menunjukkan nilai gravitasi tertinggi yaitu nilai dari interaksi antara Desa Kajoran dengan Desa Karangtengah yang memiliki nilai interaksi sebesar 668.888,9 dan nilai gravitasi terendah yaitu nilai dari interaksi antara Desa Pagebangan dengan Desa Kajoran yang memiliki nilai interaksi hanya sebesar 3.197,86.(2) pemenuhan sarana dan prasarana pendidikan dari segi kualitas mayoritas sudah baik, hanya sedikit yang rusak ringan dan rusak berat. Sedangkan dari segi kuantitas, untuk kelas keterjangkauan yang sangat mudah terjangkau dan mudah terjangkau pemenuhannya sudah memenuhi, tetapi untuk kelas keterjangkauan sedang, sulit terjangkau, dan sangat sulit terjangkau pemenuhannya kurang memenuhi.Simpulan penelitian ini adalah (1) Persebaran SDN di Kecamatan Karanggayam memiliki pola persebaran yang dilihat dari nilai gravitasi yang ditunjukkan dengan adanya interaksi antara kedua wilayah yang dihitung dengan menggunakan model gravitasi.(2) Dalam pemenuhan sarana dan prasarana pendidikan yang ditunjukkan dari segi kuantitas, hasilnya menujukkan bahwa semakin sulit terjangkau lokasi sebuah SDN maka semakin kurang memenuhi sarana dan prasarana pendidikan yang dimiliki oleh sekolah tersebut. Analysis of Land Carrying Capacity Based on The Supply and demand of water in the Jlantah Hulu Watershed Karanganyar at 2013 (for Learning Enrichment Geography substance in the Basic Competence of Environmental Utilization and Conservation for 8th Grade, 2nd Semester). Thesis, Teacher Training and Educational Faculty Sebelas Maret University. Surakarta. October 2014.This research aims to: (1) determine the level of water suplly in the Jlantah Hulu watershed at 2013, (2) determine the level of water demand in the Jlantah Hulu watershed at 2013, (3) determine the land carrying capacity between supply and demand of water level in the Jlantah Hulu watershed at 2013, (4) determine the direction of spatial planning in the Jlantah Hulu watershed at 2013 based on the level of supply and demand of water, and (5) to draft geography teaching materials on the basic competence of Environmental utilization and conservation for 8th grade, 2nd semester.This research is a descriptive research type, in which data collection and analysis methods supported by secondary data. Spatial approach was used in this study, while the population are the unit of watershed and land units in the Jlantah Hulu watershed. The implementation of this research using purposive sampling technique, and observation, documentation, interviews, and laboratory testing was used for data acquisition. The data analysis technique used to determine the water balance is done by comparing the water supply based on the water balance Thornwaite-Mather method and the water demand using Dumairi formulation. Spatial layout directives based on the function of the region by the method of scoring and weighting is done as the final outcome of this study.The results of this study concluded that (1) the water supply in the Jlantah Hulu watershed at 2013 was 42,071,119 m3, with the highest water supply in February was 10,590,853 m3, (2) the water demand in the Jlantah Hulu watershed at 2013 was calculated based on the use of land in the form of fields, irrigation (paddy), other forest, and settlements with a total water demand of 23,592,019.6 m3, (3) the carrying capacity of water resources in the Jlantah Hulu watershed at 2013 based on a comparison between the supply potential of water to the demand potential water is 1,783, so that there has been a surplus of water, (4) The arrangement of space on Jlantah watershed in 2013 based on the level of availability and water demand by classifying into 4 types of land use that other forest by 55%, rice fields by 10%, moor by 27% and settlement unchanged at 8%. The method used a quasi-experimental methods. Research subjects were students of class X Social 1 and X Social 2 Senior High School 1 Boyolali. The sampling technique used in the form of saturated sampling techniques and data collection instruments using tests and observations.The results of this study were 1) Based on the calculation that has been done shows that Pk <Pe is the control group had a smaller percentage than the experimental group. It can be concluded that the incident learning method is more effective than the method of discussion. 2) Based on the calculations have been done on the cognitive, affective and psychomotor learning outcomes experimental group better than the control group. It can be concluded that the incidence of learning outcomes with more effective method than the method of discussion. Better learning outcomes in the cognitive affective and psychomotor aspects indicate that the incidence of the use of the method on a model of problem based learning is better than the method of discussion.Keywords: Models of Problem Based Learning, Discussion Method, Incident Method, Process and Learning Outcomes
PENERAPAN MODEL PROBLEM BASED LEARNING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN MOTIVASI DAN HASIL BELAJAR GEOGRAFI (Pokok Bahasan Pelestarian Lingkungan Hidup Pada Siswa Kelas XI IPS 1 SMA Negeri 1 Ngraho Kabupaten Bojonegoro Tahun Ajaran 2013/2014)
This research aims to : (1) determine the increase in students’ motivation to learn geography in grade XI IPS 1 SMA Negeri 1 Ngraho Kabupaten Bojonegoro using a Problem Based Learning model, (2) determine the learning outcome in geography in grade XI IPS 1 SMA Negeri 1 Ngraho Kabupaten Bojonegoro using a Problem Based Learning model.The research method used is Classroom Action Research. It was done in 2 cycles of 4 phases each : planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subject was SMA Negeri 1 Ngraho Kabupaten Bojonegoro in the second semester of the 2013/2014 school year for the subject of geography. The total number of students was 30, which consisted of 11 female and 19 male students. The data collection techniques used in this study were : documentation, observation, interview, and tests. The data analysis technique implemented was analysis of qualitative description.The result showed that (1) the use of a Problem Based Learning model (PBL) can increase student motivation in class XI IPS 1 SMA Negeri 1 Ngraho Kabupaten Bojonegoro within competence 3.2. To analyze environmental conservation in relation to sustainable development. This is demonstrated by the fact that, from observation precycle to cycle I, student motivation increased by 53,34%, from 13,33% to 66,67%. Cycle I to cucle II, student motivation increased by 20%, from 66,67% to 86,67%. (2) the use of Problem Based Learning model (PBL) can increase students motivation in class XI IPS 1 SMA Negeri 1 Ngraho Kabupaten Bojonegoro within competence 3.2. To analyze environmental conservation in relation to sustainable development. From observation precycle to cycle I, the number of students who completed the class grew from 16 students (53,3%) to 20 students (66,7%), an increase of 13,4%. Cycle I to cycle II, the number of students who completed the class grew from 20 students (66,7%) to 25 (83,3%), an increase of 16,67%.Keyword: Problem Based Learning, Study Motivation, Learning Outcomes

It was done within 2 cycle and each of them had 4 phases, that was planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subject was 32 students who sit in the X grade of social class in even semester at Senior High Scool 7 Surakarta, 2013/2014 academic year. Data collection technique being used in this study were : observation, documentation, questionnaire, and test. Data analysis technique being implemented was comparative descriptive analysis. The research outcome shows that (1) the implementation of authentic assessment is able for increasing student spatial ability on geography in human relationship and environment as the effect of hidrosphere dynamics material in X social grade at Senir High School 7 Surakarta on the second cycle. This could be seen from the attainment of spatial ability was more than 75%. On the secn cycle the amount f spatial ability were : comparation 84%, heirarki 78%, aura 79%, transition 78%, dan association 86% (2) the implementation of authentic assesment was able for increasing the students learning outcome on geography in human relationship and environment as the effect of hidrosphere dynamics material in X grade social at Senior High School 7 Surakarta on the second cycle. It could be seen from the accession of achievement indicator was more than 75% on the second cycle. The degree of accomplishment of the cognitive learning outcome on the second cycle was 81.25%. The degree of accomplishment of the affective learning outcome on the second cycle was 78.1%. The degree of accomplishment of the psychomotor learning outcome on the second cycle was 93.75%. ABSTRACTThe purposes of this study were: (1) determine the level of degradation which occurred in rice fields used brick mining in Salaman district (2) determine the level of productivity of paddy in rice field in Salaman District (3) determine the handling priority of rice field used brick mining in Salaman District (4) determine the implementation of land degradation in rice fields used brick mining in Geography learning in class XI of Senior High School.This study used qualitative methods with survey as the type of research. The approach used was spatial. The unit of analysis is a unit derived from an overlay of the Land Use Map, Soil Map, Slope Map, and excavation depth data, with the result was 10 land units. The technique of soil sampling used purposive sampling while the technique of respondent sampling was stratified purposive sampling. The techniques of data collection were field observation, interview, and documentation.The results of this study were: (1) Rice field degradation class in Salaman District consists of medium degraded land, which is 870.9 Ha (40.6%) on land units Sw-LC-I-0 and Sw-LC-I-30; low degraded land area, which is480.6 Ha (22.4%) on land units Sw-KLMK-II-0, Sw-KLMK-II-30, Sw-ACK-I-0, and Sw-ACK-I-30. (2) The decreasing of productivity between the origin land and the used brick mining land in the land units Sw-ACK-I-0 with Sw-ACK-I-30 worth of 281 kg/Ha, as well as on land Sw-LC- I-0 with Sw-LC-I-30 worth of 2597.4 kg/Ha. (3) Handling priority of rice field after brick mining in Salaman District consists of first priority on land units Sw-ACK-I-0, Sw-ACK-I-30 and Sw-LC-I-0, which is 1033.7 Ha (48.2%); Second priority on land units Sw-KLMK-II-0, Sw-KLMK-II-30, and Sw-LC-I-30, which is 317.7 Ha (14.8%). ANALYSIS OF LANDSLIDE HAZARD LEVEL AND DISASTER MITIGATION IN KARANGSAMBUNG DISTRICT OF KEBUMEN REGENCY YEAR 2013
ABSTRACT Purpose of this research was (1) To know the landslide type in Karangsambung District, (2) To know distribution of landslide hazard level in Karangsambung District, and (3) To know disaster mitigation is that done due landslide in Karangsambung District. This research used spatial description with survey method. The results show that (1) Landslide type in Karangsambung Subdistrict which consist of four types, those are falls, topples, slides, and flows. (2) The level of landslide hazard in Karangsambung subdistrict consist on two class of hazard and distribution as follows: (a) Class II is a high potency of landslide hazard whose large 3.290,92 hectares or 42,14 % and (b) Class III is enough high potency of landslide hazard whose large 4.518,22 hectares or 57,86 %.
