    The relationship between perceived employability and subjective career success among teachers

    Individuals have two assessments in viewing career success, one of which is assessing success subjectively. Career success is success that comes from internal criteria of individuals. Among the many evaluations of career success, it is obtained through work experience. This work experience makes individuals evaluate their abilities, which is called perceived employability. In the context of teachers, these abilities are used to face the work environment in the future. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between perceived work ability and teachers' subjective career success. The study population consists of male or female teachers who hold appointment letters as permanent or non-permanent teachers at a foundation or as civil servants (ASN), and have at least five years of work experience, selected using quota sampling from 20 schools. The method used in this study is correlation analysis. The instruments used in this study were the perceived employability scale and the Subjective Career Success Inventory (SCSI). This study used the Pearson Product Moment correlation test analysis technique, and the results were analysed by dimension. The results of this study indicate that the internal perceived employability dimension is related to the subjective career success dimension, including the dimensions of recognition, quality of work, influence, authenticity, personal life, growth and development, and satisfaction. Furthermore, the external perceived employability dimension is related to the subjective career success dimension, including the dimensions of recognition, quality of work, influence, authenticity, and satisfaction. In conclusion, the internal perceived employability dimension is related to all dimensions of subjective career success. Meanwhile, the external perceived employability dimension is not related to all dimensions of subjective career succes

    Work readiness in final-year students: The predictive value of work motivation and social support

    In 2023, Indonesia reported approximately 7.86 million unemployed individuals, with a notably low employment absorption rate among university graduates. One contributing factor to this issue is the insufficient level of job readiness among graduates, which hinders their ability to secure employment. This study aims to examine the extent to which work motivation and social support predict job readiness among final-year students at Ahmad Dahlan University. The research involved 100 participants selected through purposive sampling, a form of non-probability sampling. A quantitative research approach was employed, utilizing validated scales to measure job readiness, work motivation, and social support. Content validity was established through expert judgment. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression via SPSS version 16.0. The findings indicate that work motivation and social support collectively predict job readiness. However, while work motivation significantly contributes to job readiness, social support does not show a statistically significant effect. These results underscore the crucial role of internal factors particularly individual motivation in enhancing the job readiness of final-year students as they transition into the workforce, particularly within the context of the Indonesian labor market

    IDENTIFIKASI AWAN KONVEKTIF PADA KEJADIAN HUJAN ES BERBASIS DATA RADAR CUACA (STUDI KASUS KARANGANYAR 21 MARET 2025)

    Hujan es merupakan fenomena cuaca ekstrem yang jarang terjadi, namun dapat menimbulkan dampak signifikan terhadap lingkungan dan aktivitas masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi karakteristik awan konvektif yang memicu kejadian hujan es di Desa Badranasri, Kecamatan Karanganyar, pada 21 Maret 2025 dengan menggunakan data radar cuaca dan satelit. Data yang digunakan meliputi citra satelit Himawari-9 dan data radar cuaca dari Stasiun Meteorologi Ahmad Yani Semarang, yang kemudian diolah menggunakan perangkat lunak SATAID dan RainDART. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa suhu puncak awan turun drastis hingga -76°C, menandakan awan telah menembus tropopause. Reflektivitas maksimum pada produk CMAX melebihi 60 dBZ, mengindikasikan konveksi kuat. Produk VCUT memperlihatkan puncak awan mencapai lebih dari 18 km dengan reflektivitas tinggi di bagian bawah, yang menandakan adanya akumulasi es akibat lemahnya updraft. Produk ZHAIL menunjukkan probabilitas kejadian hujan es di atas 80% pada pukul 09.10 UTC, bertepatan dengan lokasi kejadian. Berdasarkan keempat analisis tersebut, kejadian hujan es di Karanganyar terkonfirmasi sebagai hasil dari proses konvektif yang intens. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya pemanfaatan radar cuaca dalam deteksi dini fenomena cuaca ekstrem di wilayah tropis

    Analgesic and anti-inflammatory activities of the extract of Polypodium feei mett roots

    The limited scientific evidence on the analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects of Polypodium feei roots, despite their traditional use in rheumatism treatment, highlights the need for pharmacological validation. The study investigates the analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties of Polypodium feei roots, a traditional medicine used to treat rheumatism, in mice and rats with carrageenan-induced paw edema, using acetylsalicylic acid and tramadol as analgesics and diclofenac sodium as an anti-inflammatory. The writhing test results demonstrate that the extract of P. feei roots (EPFR) at dosages of 50 and 100 mg/kgBW lowered the writhing responses of rat significantly (p <0.01). The dose of 100 mg/kgBW provided more protection than acetylsalicylic acid at a level of 65 mg/kgBW. In the hot plate method, the extract increased the latency period significantly (p <0.05) as compared with the control. In the anti-inflammatory examination, the EPFR decreased edema of rat paws induced by carrageenan. The significant effect of the EPFR was shown by the dose of 100 mg/kgBW (p <0.05), but its inhibition was lower than that of a standard agent, diclofenac sodium. This study concluded that the EPFR may have peripherally and centrally analgesic activity and anti-inflammatory activity. This evidence supports the folklore claim of the efficacy of EPFR as traditional medicine for rheumatism

    In vitro assessment of antioxidant and photoprotective activities of torch ginger leaf extract (Etlingera elatior (Jack.) R.M.Sm.)

    The torch ginger plant (Etlingera elatior (Jack) R.M.Sm.) is a member of the Zingiberaceae family and is frequently called kecombrang in Java. This plant has been used as a traditional medicine and food flavor enhancer but is limited as a cosmetic ingredient. Flavonoids and phenolic compounds are examples of secondary metabolites found in this plant. Most flavonoid compounds show sunscreen activity due to the chromophore groups (conjugated single double bonds) capable of absorbing UV A and UV B radiation. According to BPOM Decree No. 17/2022, only listed ingredients in Annex 4 are considered as UV filters but natural herbal compounds with antioxidant properties are applied as sunscreens. This study focused on the in vitro assessment of antioxidant and photoprotective activity from E. elatior leaf extract. First, extracting a 70% ethanol extraction of torch ginger leaves, then evaluated the extract’s quality, its antioxidant activity via the DPPH assay, and its in-vitro photoprotective activity using a UV spectrophotometer. The results showed that the extract from E. elatior leaves possesses remarkably strong antioxidant properties, as shown by its IC50 value of 47.46 μg/mL, and the extract at concentration of 1000 μg/mL provided photoprotection activity calculated as an SPF of 24.05 (ultra protection), erythema transmission value of 1.18% (extra protection) and pigmentation transmission value of 3.49% (total block). It can be concluded that torch ginger leaf extract has high potential as a cosmetic natural ingredient because of very strong antioxidant activity and photoprotective ultra protection.

    Utilization of Google Maps API in the Development of the Integrated Monitoring Information System (SIMONIT) at the Department of Transportation, Dumai City

    This study focuses on the design and implementation of the Integrated Monitoring Information System (SIMONIT), utilizing the Google Maps API to support infrastructure management by the Department of Transportation of Dumai City. The system was developed to enable digital and integrated monitoring of various infrastructure elements such as Public Street Lighting (PSL), traffic lights, warning lights, road markings, and traffic signs. The research employs a descriptive method combining both qualitative and simple quantitative data. The findings show that the implementation of SIMONIT significantly contributes to operational efficiency, data accuracy, faster reporting, and improved transparency and accountability in public asset management. A total of 1,273 PSL points have been recorded in the system, with photo documentation available for approximately 90% and complete GPS coordinates. Additionally, the public complaint module registered 168 reports, with an 87% resolution rate and an average response time of only 1 to 2 days. This system also enhances decision-making capabilities and can serve as a reference for developing other digital public service platforms

    TekenToken Development: IoT based Cartesian Robot System for Prepaid Electricity Token Recharging Automation

    Manual input of the prepaid token on the electricity meter is prone to several drawbacks, such as the possibility of entering incorrect numbers or dealing with an electricity meter that is hard to reach, which makes the process inefficient and reduces precision. This may result in billing issues or an interrupted power supply. Automating the electricity recharging process will eliminate the need for manual input, making it much more efficient and significantly improving accuracy. TekenToken is an innovation in the field of robotics designed to automate the process of electricity recharging through prepaid tokens. This system utilizes a Cartesian robot, which enables precise movement along the X, Y, and Z axes to press the buttons on the electricity meter. TekenToken also incorporates an IoT system using an online database like Firebase, connecting the system to a mobile application that allows for long-distance remote control. By implementing a flexible system such as a Cartesian robot and IoT, TekenToken can also be modified for application in many other fields

    A Hybrid SMOTE-PSO-LSTM-GRU Model for Enhanced Android Malware Detection

    As the use of Android devices increases, malware threats are becoming increasingly critical and often undetected by conventional methods due to data imbalance and dynamic behavior in network traffic and application activities. This study aims to answer the question of whether a hybrid deep learning model equipped with optimization and data balancing techniques can significantly improve the performance of malware detection. We propose a novel architecture that integrates SMOTE to balance the class distribution by oversampling minority malware samples, an LSTM-GRU network to learn sequential behavioral patterns, and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) to optimize model hyperparameters. The model is trained using a real-world dataset that includes labeled network and application activity logs. Compared with baseline models such as standard LSTM and GRU, our approach shows significant performance improvements, with an F1 score of 98.3%, an accuracy of 98.8%, a precision of 98.1%, and a recall of 98.5%. These results indicate that the proposed model not only addresses the major challenges in Android malware detection but also has strong potential for application in real-world mobile security systems

    Online Handwritten Recognition for Learning to Balinese Script

    The Balinese script is a valuable cultural heritage. However, in recent decades, the use of Balinese script has significantly declined, especially among the younger generation. This is due to several factors, including the influence of technology and the lack of effective educational resources. The development of information and communication technology has supported the younger generation to communicate with each other online. Therefore, the younger generations are more interested in communicating by using technology instead of handwriting. However, it is possible to integrate handwriting and technology using handwriting recognition. The purpose of this study is to develop handwriting recognition in writing Balinese especially for young learners. Handwriting recognition in writing Balinese brings many advantages including reducing paper waste. Handwriting recognition also motivates young learners to practice handwriting using digital writing instruments on mobile devices, laptops, or desktops. This study developed handwriting recognition in a web-based application using the Bootstrap framework and employing the Jaccard Similarity and Pearson Correlation Coefficient algorithms. The sample data used are the Balinese script characters ha, na, ca, ra, ka, da, ta, and sa, collected from 10 young learners. The accuracy comparison results of the two algorithms are JS algorithm = 0% and PCC algorithm = 79%. The contributions of this research are: (1) the design of a web-based Balinese script learning system integrated with handwriting recognition technology; and (2) the application of Jaccard Similarity and Pearson Correlation Coefficient algorithms for handwriting recognition evaluation

    Estimating the Economic Value and Determining Factors of Unused Medicines Among Households in Cibarusah District, Bekasi Regency

    The accumulation of unused and expired medicines in households poses significant economic, health, and environmental challenges. This study aimed to estimate the economic value of unused medicines and identify factors contributing to their accumulation among households in the Cibarusah District, Bekasi Regency, Indonesia. A cross-sectional survey was conducted from May to June 2025 involving 354 households selected using a convenience sampling approach. Data were collected through structured, face-to-face interviews with validated questionnaires and analyzed descriptively using Microsoft Excel 2021 and SPSS version 29. Results showed that 71.5% of households stored unused medicines, representing an estimated total economic value of IDR 25,271,179, or an average loss of IDR 99,886 per household. Expired medicines accounted for 28.5% of all stored items, with a mean value of IDR 114,897 per household. Analgesics, antipyretics, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), and antigout agents were the most frequently stored drug classes (20.1%), followed by gastrointestinal medicines (15.2%). The primary reasons for medicine accumulation were recovery from illness (70.9%), drug ineffectiveness (15.8%), and expiration (28.5%). Most respondents were female (67.2%), aged 36–55 years, and had completed secondary education. When extrapolated to all 32,515 households in Cibarusah District, the potential economic loss due to unused medicines reached approximately IDR 1.18 billion. This study highlights the substantial economic burden associated with household medicine storage and the need for improved public awareness of rational medicine use. Strengthening educational programs, involving community pharmacists in household medicine management, and establishing structured medicine take-back systems are essential to reduce pharmaceutical waste and its economic impact. These findings contribute valuable local evidence to support national strategies for promoting sustainable and responsible medicine use in Indonesia
