Penggunaan NaCL dan Asam Sitrat untuk Memperpanjang Umur Simpan dan Mutu Cabai Rawit (Capsicum frutescens L.)
Chili cannot be stored for a long time in a fresh condition because it was a living structure that is still carrying out metabolic reactions. Chili after harvesting still maintains the physiological system as it was still attached to the plant. Metabolic reactions will trigger chili damage quickly. The efforts to prevent this should be made to maintain the quality and shelf life of chilies by minimizing metabolic processes, such as suppressing the rate of respiration through regulating the environmental conditions of storage and use of preservatives. The study aimed to determine the effect of concentration of NaCl and citric acid on the shelf life and quality of chili. The study was arranged using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with a combination of types and concentrations of preservatives. with the treatment of NaCl concentrations of 1%, 2%, 3%, and Citric Acid respectively 1%, 2%, 3%. The parameters observed were weight loss, shelf life, texture, total microbes, and vitamin C content. The results showed that the use of preservatives significantly affected the shelf life and quality of cayenne pepper. The preservative NaCl 3% given a better effect on cayenne pepper, in terms of the lowest weight loss of 22.8%, the maximum shelf life of 78 days, the number of microbes 12 cfu/g sample, and the texture is rather soft after storage
Pengaruh Sistem Pertanaman Terhadap Pertumbuhan, Produktivitas, dan Viabilitas Benih Pasca Simpan Beberapa Genotipe Sorgum
The sorghum-cassava intercropping system is a solution to the limited land for planting sorghum in Lampung Province, which is a cassava production area. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of the cropping system on the growth, production, and vigor of the six months' shelf life of the seeds of five sorghum genotypes. The research was conducted on agricultural land in Karang Endah Village, Jati Agung Subdistrict, South Lampung Regency (5.28° SL 105.27° EL) at 82.3 masl and at the Laboratory of Seed and Plant Breeding, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. The experiment was arranged factorial in a split-plot and repeated as 2 blocks. The main plot was a cropping system consisting of a monoculture cropping system (p1) and an intercropping system (p2). Subplots consist of five sorghum genotypes consisting of Pahat (g1), GHP-1 (g2), GHP-3 (g3), GHP-5 (g4), GH-33 (g5). The sorghum that is planted intercropping with cassava is between 2 rows of cassava plants with 15 cm spacing in rows. On every two rows of cassava, a row of sorghum is planted. The spacing of cassava is 80 cm x 60 cm. The results showed that the intercropping system affected the number of leaves but showed better results at 71.20 g stover dry weight for GHP-1 and 50.10 SPAD for GH-33 for leaf greenness. The difference in cropping systems affected the productivity of sorghum seeds on seed weight per panicle, namely 31.83 g for GHP-3 which showed the largest yield compared to other genotypes but had no effect on the number of seeds per panicle. The treatment of five sorghum genotypes affected the germination rate by 36.83% / day for GH-33 and total normal germination by 84.50% for GH-33. Strong normal sprouts were 89% found in GH-33 from monoculture crops
Manajemen Pengendalian Mutu Dalam Produksi Agribisnis pada Kelompok Wanita Tani Ayu Tangkas
Quality control is needed by the company to improve the quality of the products produced so that they are by the company's standards and by consumer desires. Maintaining the quality of the products made is also necessary to reduce the company's quality assurance costs. The research objective was to analyze the quality control of the products produced and identify the factors that damage the products produced by the Ayu Tangkas Women Farmers Group (WFG). The method used in this research is the Statistical Process Control (SPC) method with analysis using the p-control chart and the Fishbone Diagram. The population in the study were all products produced by WFG Ayu Tangkas in December 2019. The results showed that the quality of snacks made by WFG Ayu Tangkas, as many as 4280 pieces, were under control. This can be seen from the 28 points between the Lower Control Limit (LCL) and Upper Control Limit (UCL). There are only two points that are above the UCL control limit. The factor that causes deterioration in Ayu Tangkas WFG snacks' quality is that the ingredients are not measured with certainty using only the snack maker considerations. Besides, they do not use manufacturing machines, so that the sizes are often not the same because there is no definite SOP for the manufacturing process. There is no promotion so that snacks are made still at a constant volume and the use of firewood in the manufacture so that the heat generated is unstable, causing the snacks to burn and break frequently
Kualitas Fisik dan Kandungan Protein Kasar Silase Kulit Buah Kakao Berbeda Klon Sebagai Pakan Ternak
This study aims to determine the physical quality and crude protein content of cocoa pod husk silage (CBC) from different clones. The pods used came from six clones, namely Sulawesi1 (S1), Sulawesi2 (S2), Local 01 (L01), local 02 (L02), local Padantana (LP), and a mixture of all clones (S1+S2+L01+L02+LP), which is referred to as mixed silage. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with silage treatment of cocoa pod husks for each clone with 30% rice bran added. Meanwhile, the bran was not added to mixed silage. The data were analyzed using the analysis of variance test (ANOVA), and the Duncan test followed the difference between treatments. The results showed that the silage of all clone treatments had good physical quality with a distinctive sour fermentation aroma and a color that did not differ much from the original color of each clone's cocoa pods. There are differences in crude protein content of mixed cocoa pod husk silage and between clones. The highest crude protein content was found in mixed silage, namely 6.02%, and the lowest in local clones 02, namely 4.80%
Substitusi Viterna Plus pada Pakan bagi Pertumbuhan, Kelangsungan Hudup dan Rasio RNA/DNA Udang Windu (Penaeus monodon, Fabr)
This engineering aims to determine the effect of the dose of vitamin plus administration on artificial feed on the growth, survival, and RNA / DNA ratio of tiger prawn larvae (Penaeus monodon, Fabr). The study was compiled using four vitamin Plus dose treatments, and each experimental unit had two cycles. The treatments used were: giving vitamin plus 5 mL/kg, 10 mL/kg, 15 mL/kg in artificial feed, and control without giving vitamin plus. The results showed that the average weight gain during tiger prawns' engineering activity was observed to increase over time. Absolute growth of tiger prawns with the addition of vitamin plus dose of 15 mL/kg was the highest total growth, which was 101.77 ± 0.29 g, and the lowest was in control 83.07 ± 2.87 g. The highest daily growth rate was the addition of vitreous plus a dose of 10 mL/kg 1.47 ± 0.01% / day, and the lowest was the control, namely 1.10 ± 0.02% / day. Furthermore, the addition of vitamin plus with 10 mL/kg showed the highest survival value was 96.2 ± 1.6%, and the lowest was in control, namely 84.7 ± 0.6%. The highest to lowest survival rates were ten treatment doses, respectively; 15; 20 mL/kg, and control. The highest RNA / DNA ratio value of tiger prawns was produced at the addition of a dose of 15 mL/kg of 1.025 ± 0.029, and the lowest was at a quantity of 5 mL/kg, namely 0.618 ± 0.05
Faktor-Faktor yang Mempengaruhi Keputusan Petani Padi Memilih Kredit di Bank (Studi Kasus Kecamatan Wonomulyo Kabupaten Polewali Mandar)
This study aims to determine and analyze the influence of partially and the influence together with farmers' income, interest rates, loan amount, credit repayment period, credit distribution process, collateral/credit, and credit services to the decision of rice farmers to choose credit at the bank. The population in this study were rice farmers who took credit at the bank, both those who were still active in a credit or had paid off who were domiciled and were members of farmer groups in Wonomulyo District, Polewali Mandar Regency, West Sulawesi Province. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis and coefficient of determination. The results showed that the farmers' income partially had a negative and significant effect on the decision of rice farmers to choose credit at the bank. The amount of credit and credit services has a positive and significant effect on the decision of rice farmers to choose credit at the bank. The interest rate, repayment period, credit distribution process, and collateral/collateral do not significantly influence the decision of rice farmers to choose credit at the bank. Farmers' income influences the decision of rice farmers to choose credit at the bank
Indikator yang Mempengaruhi Tingkat Ketahanan Pangan di Kabupaten Bungo Provinsi Jambi
The purpose of this study is to know the value of the indicator of food security levels, to assess food security levels, and to understand the indicators that most affect food security levels in the bungo county of the jambi province. The basic method for this study is the institutional survey of taking secondary data to agencies in order to know the food security index.For data analysis using multiple liniear analysis. The accuracy of the model is tested using statistical tests, namely the t-test, F-count and coefficient of determination adjusted for R-sq. Studies indicate that there are 3 unequal indicators for food security: households with a proportion of 65% spending in their total coin income is quite poor (21.42%), women's education over 15 years of age (10%) and the health-care ratio of people to very low population densities (2.75). And the other 6 variables that have been consistent with the country's high surplus ratio of consumption to food production (0.038), people who live below the world's poverty line are resilient enough (10.11%), people with no access to electricity with extreme resistance (4.25%),Residents with no access to clean water in highly resistant conditions (39.39%), highly resilient predatives (18.24%) and highly resilient life expectancy at birth (99.74%).The food safety index in the bungo district is in a very resilient state with an index of 0.06. The indicator that particularly affects food security levels is the ratio per health-care to population density.This study aims to determine the value of the indicator ratio of the level of food security, to analyze the level of food security, and to determine the indicators that most influence the level of food security in Bungo District, Jambi Province. The basic method in this study is an institutional survey in the form of secondary data collection to agencies to determine the food security index. For data analysis using multiple linear analysis. The results showed that there are 3 indicators that are not suitable for food security, namely households with a proportion of expenditure of 65% of total income whose condition is quite bad (21.42%), education of women over 15 years of age with low conditions (10.14%) and the ratio of health workers to population density in very low conditions (2.75). The other 6 variable conditions are in accordance with the level of food security, namely the ratio of normative consumption to food production with a high surplus condition (0.038), the population living below the poverty line with sufficiently resistant conditions (10.11%), the population without access to electricity with very resistant conditions ( 4.25%), people without access to clean water with very resistant conditions (39.39%), children under five with very resistant stunting (18.24%) and life expectancy at birth with very resistant conditions (99.74%). The food security index in Bungo Regency is included in a very food resistant condition with an index of (0.06). Identifikasi Potensi dan Pemanfaatan Tumbuhan Obat di Hutan Produksi Kecamatan Sinoa Kabupaten Bantaeng Sulawesi Selatan
The purpose of this study was to determine the potential and benefits of medicinal plants found in production forests in Sinoa District, Bantaeng Regency. The type of data collected was quantitative and qualitative data, including types and quantities of medicinal plants, local names, parts of plants used, and types of diseases that can be treated with these plants. Vegetation analysis results showed that the diversity of medicinal plants as many as 13 species from 10 families. Vegetation which has the greatest potential at the level of the tree namely Pinus (Pinus mercusii) with a potential of 194, at the pole level was Avocado (Persea gratissima) with a potential of 100, at the sapling level namely Coffee (Coffea arabica) with a potential of 640, and at the seedling level ie Bandotan (Ageratum conyzoides) with the greatest potential is 17500. Plant parts that utilized were leaves, roots, fruits, seeds, sap, and bark. All of these parts used to treat diseases such as shortness of breath, headache, toothache, cough, diarrhea, fever, malaria, high blood pressure, diabetes, suppurating ulcers, beriberi, immune system, festering skin inflammation, and increasing brain intelligence. Besides that it can treat kidney stones, wounds, sore throat, eye medication, dry the wound, neutralize the poison boils, canker sores, bruises, swelling, and sprains
Efek Dominasi Peran Gender Terhadap Keberlanjutan Pola Nafkah Usaha Budidaya Murbei dan Pemeliharaan Ulat Sutera
Mulberry cultivation and silkworm maintenance are household agro-industries with short production processes, which can be done by men and women and produce quickly. The research aims to analyze the role of gender in the household of mulberry cultivation and silkworm maintenance and analyze the effect of gender roles' dominance on the sustainable livelihood of the mulberry cultivation and silkworm maintenance. This research is a qualitative descriptive with case studies in nine businesses of mulberry cultivation and silkworm maintenance in Sabbangparu District, Wajo Regency. Research informants were purposive. Data were analyzed using a qualitative approach. The results showed that gender roles in roles allocation (reproductive, social, productive), economic allocation, and power allocation were dominated by wives (consecutively 51.94%, 47.08%, and 52.48%). High-income households, wives play a dominant role in allocating the positions while the power allocation tends to be decided together (husband and wife). The dominance of gender roles (husband and wife) in households does affect the sustainability of livelihood. Therefore, the husband and wife's involvement becomes necessary so that the mulberry cultivation and silkworm maintenance can run well and sustainably
Analisis Hubungan Rantai Pasok Terhadap Kualitas Rumput Laut di Kabupaten Bantaeng
The government's demand to improve the quality of production and business development not in accordance with a condition of development of seaweed cultivation in Bantaeng Regency, South Sulawesi as a center for seaweed development, which is still relatively low. The low production and quality were influenced by various factors. This study aims were to identify the structure of the seaweed supply chain, analyze post-harvest handling, and describe the quality of seaweed in Bantaeng Regency. The total sample of 27 respondents taken by purposive sampling. This research used a qualitative descriptive approach and SWOT analysis. The results showed that the seaweed supply chain business actors in Bantaeng Regency were still in the open market negotiation process with their respective roles. Farmers play a role in seaweed farming activities, traders collectors play a role as an intermediary for information. Providers of capital for farmers and the quality of seaweed in this area is still relatively low
