    The heat stress plays an important role for reducing feed utilization, blood profile, growth performance, and its influence performance and economic loss. Supplemented of diallyl n-sulfide of garlic is one the efforts to avoid the negative impact of heat stress. One hundred anh twenty five of female quails, 11 weeks of age, were used ini this study to investigate the impact of garlic diallyl n-sulfide (Dn-S) on metabolic of quail glycogenolysis pathway. Animal sample were obtained at 11 wk of age ramdomly assigned to five groups of treatment. Each group of treatment involved 5 replicates with 5 quails each (25 laying quails per group). All of the groups were provided basal diet and orally administered with treatements group i.e. group of thermoneutral zone (24°C) without Dn-S; group of heat stress (38°C) without Dn-S; group of heat stress (38°C) and 75 µL of Dn-S; group of heat stress (38°C) and 100 µL of Dn-S; group of heat stress (38°C) and 125 µL of Dn-S. Based on the result in this experiment showed that heat stress contibutes of the increase of glycogenolysis and metabolic compund, also enzime which is catalized its pathway. The Administered of 125 µL of Dn-S decreased glycogenolysis rate, effectivelly. In conclusion, Dn-S plays the main role to avoid exrtacelluler osmotic and metabolism fluctuation related heat stress.

    Seeding media have a large role in helping to accelerate germination and seed will have a different response to certain media. Seeding media is needed so that the potential viability of seeds can be optimal. Media in nurseries have a large role in helping accelerate budding. The study was conducted in the greenhouse of the Laing Solok Experimental Garden, West Sumatra. The research aimed to know the composition of the media that can improve the viability of cinnamon (Cinnamomum burmanii) seeds. The study was arranged in a completely randomized design with 7 treatments: wastes ash distillation of citronella, burnt husk, sawdust, soil + wastes ash distillation citronella, ground + burnt husk, sand, and soil. All experiment treatment were repeated 5 times. Each treatment was used 30 seeds of cinnamon with a spacing of 5 x 5 cm. The parameters observed included percentage of growth, vegetative growth (seed height, number of leaves, leaf length and leaf width), root length, number of roots, biomass (wet and dry weight of seeds, root wet and dry weight). The results showed that the best growing media for recalcitrant cinnamon seeds were sawdust and soil + ash of citronella refining waste. The growth percentage of the two media were 76.00% and 64.00% respectively, the best vegetative growth, with the wet weight of the seeds respectively 0.74 g and 0.71 g, root wet weight 0.19 and 0.13 g, seed dry weight of 0.25 and 0.23 g, root dry weight of 0.11 and 0.06 g. The best total leaf chlorophill content in both types of media was 0.026 and 0.034

    Teak (Tectona grandis) is one of the leading tree species in Indonesia with a very high economic value. This study's objective was to determine the proper concentration of Murashige and Skoog (MS) media, and Thidiazuron (TDZ) for in vitro callus induction of T. grandis shoots. The design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) factorial experiment. The first factor was the concentrations of MS media (1/2MS and MS full strength). The second one was TDZ concentrations consisted of five levels, i.e 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 ppm. The best medium observed was M2T2 ((½ MS + 2 ppm TDZ), which successfully induced yellowish-white and whitish-green compact calli on all evaluated explants in 16,25 days with 55% of browning explants. Overall, the media being assessed can be used for callus induction on T. grandis shoots

    The reproductive process's success is mostly determined by the conditions of the male and female who are married. Male quality is determined by testicular size, libido, and, most importantly, semen quality. One of the factors that determine testicular size and libido is nutrition. Moringa is a type of vegetable that has excellent nutritional content. This study aimed to determine the effect of Moringa leaves on scrotum circumference and libido of Bali cattle. This study used 12 male Bali cows with a bodyweight of 150-200 kg aged 2-4 years, divided into two treatments: cows without Moringa leaves and cows given Moringa leaves. Moringa leaves (room dried) were given as much as 0.1% of body weight in the morning for 13 weeks. Data were collected once a week. Furthermore, the data obtained were analyzed using SPSS with the T-Student Independent Sample test. The results showed that cows given Moringa leaves were not significantly different from cows that were not given Moringa leaves (control treatment) in the initial seven periods of the study (P> 0.05). Still, after that period (weeks 8-13), there was a significant effect. very significant (P <0.01). In contrast to the libido, the scrotal circumference size of Bali Cows given Moringa leaves was significantly different from the control treatment (P <0.01). This means that Moringa leaf supplementation can increase the scrotal circumference and libido at the 8th week of Moringa leaf supplementation

    Availability of pepper seeds continuously, good quality, and free from stem rot disease is still limited at the farmer level. This study aims to determine the composition of the planting medium and the best concentration of organic fertilizers in spurring pepper seeds' growth. The study was compiled using a two-factor factorial design based on a randomized block design. The first factor is the media's composition for planting sand, compost, and soil in 5 levels, namely 1:0:1, 1:1:0, 1:1:1, 1:2:1, and 2:1:1. The second factor is applying liquid organic fertilizer (POC), made from forage. It consists of three levels of concentration, namely POC 10 ml, 20 ml, and without POC (control). Fifteen treatment combinations were repeated three times. The results showed that the combination of POC and the composition of the planting medium could stimulate pepper seedlings' growth. POC 20 ml/liter and the composition of the media of sand + compost + soil 1:1:0 and 1:1:1 resulted in the best shoot lengths, namely 13.91 cm and 13.23 cm, respectively. The planting medium of sand + compost + soil with a composition of 1:1:1 was able to spur the emergence time of pepper cuttings faster, namely 19.13 days after planting, and the number of leaves was higher, namely 5.40

    Siderophore is an iron-chelating agent produced by plants and microorganisms under iron deficiency conditions. One of the microorganisms that ability produce siderophore is a fungus. This study aimed to determine the potential of endophytic fungi in creating siderophore. The ability of fungi to produce siderophore, especially Salicylate and Catechol using Potato Dextrose Broth (PDB) liquid media and Hathway Reagent. Eight isolates of endophytic fungi from local rice South Sulawesi have tested their ability to produce siderophore. Eight isolates of endophytic fungi before being tested were rejuvenated by growing on Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) medium for seven days. Each isolate was grown on a PDB medium before being tested. The absorbance is measured using a spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 560 nm with Na. Salicylate 700 nm with 2.3 DHBA as standard. The results showed that the isolates of E4 and E8 had the capability to produce siderophores. The results provide the latest information regarding endophytic fungi' potential from local rice in South Sulawesi as a siderophore producer

    This study aims to evaluate the growth and production of hybrid maize on ultisol soils using biochar and chicken manure to support sustainable agriculture. This study used a factorial design based on the randomized block design, which consisted of two treatment factors and three replications. The first factor is the dosage of biochar consisting of 4 levels, namely without biochar (control), 0.25 kg.m-2; 0.5 kg.m-2; and 1 kg.m-2. The second factor is the dose of chicken manure, consisting of four levels, namely without chicken manure (control), chicken manure with a dose of 0.25 kg.m-2; 0.5 kg.m-2; and 1 kg.m-2. The results showed that biochar treatment had a significant effect on plant height. The interaction between treatments has a significant effect on the weight of the ear without the cob. The best biochar treatment was at a dose of 0.25 kg.m-2 while the best treatment of chicken manure was at a dose of 1 kg.m-2

The role of the food crop sub-sector not only to food security but also contributes substantially to the increase of Gross Domestic Product, the provision of food, the provision of industrial raw materials, the increase of exports and foreign exchange, poverty alleviation, the provision of employment opportunities, the source of farmer's income and welfare Communities, and regional and national economies. This study aims: 1) To analyze the prospect of agribusiness system in corn commodity development in Parepare City which includes upstream agribusiness sub-system, Agricultural Business sub-system and downstream agribusiness sub-system; 2) To examine the policy strategy that can support the implementation of agribusiness system of corn commodity in Parepare City.  Location of research in Kecamatan Bacukiki Kota Parepare, Technic of data analysis used is qualitative discriptive analysis and SWOT Analysis.  The results showed that. L) the application of agribusiness system in corn commodity development in general is not maximal, 2) policy strategy that can support corn commodity development with agribusiness approach are: (a) optimize land utilization and improve performance of extension officer in development of corn farming, (b) Human resources development through training of both farmers and officers.     Gapoktan Tani Makmur is an association of farmer groups in Kartoharjo Village. The main product of Gapoktan is semi-organic fertilizer, namely organic NPK super granule with the trademark was ASLI (Alami Subur Lestari Indonesia). The problem faced is that Gapoktan is very dependent on factory microbes that were no longer produced in Purbalingga. There are many potential sources of beneficial local microorganisms, one of which comes from banana weevils. The purpose of this study was to describe the level of adoption and to analyze the factors that influence the adoption rate as the basis for the design of education about the manufacture of banana weevil MOL in Gapoktan Tani Makmur. Also, to determine the implementation, evaluate education based on the level of adoption and the factors that influence it. The method used is a quantitative approach with a survey method for data collection. The sampling technique uses random cluster sampling. The results showed that the measurement of the adoption rate before counseling was in the very high category of 82.9%, with the regression line equation Y = -2.695 + 0.124X1 - 0.558X2 + 2.182X3 + 1.958X4, with a determination coefficient of 0.829 or 82.9% . It means that the variable age (X1), an education level (X2), attitude towards change (X2), and courage at risk (X2) simultaneously affect the innovation adoption variable (Y) by 82.9%. Simultaneously, the rest is influenced by other variables or variables not studied. The extension's design follows the measurement of adoption rate and its influencing factors. The extension material includes the meaning, benefits, advantages, and MOL content of banana weevils for super organic NPK fertilizer. Real-life media outreach, PPT slides, and leaflets with adjuncts, lectures, and demonstrations. Evaluation of the extension design application, namely, evaluating the adoption rate of 38 target people with a very high category of 86.4%

    Pig livestock in Tana Toraja and North Toraja Regencies are made as a side business, especially by mothers and carried on for generations. Every morning the pork vegetables were picked and then processed with rice milling bran to become feed. Pork vegetable is the local name’s for sweet potato leaves (Ipomea batatas). Generally, pig farmer’s use concentrates mixed with yellow corn and smooth bran, which are referred to as local concentrates. Traditional breeders in Tana Toraja still use a number of concentrates which depend on the availability of feed. This study aimed to determine the effect of several types of concentrates on the performance of starter age pigs. The study used 9 male pigs and placed in 9 individual cage units and arranged in a Randomized Block Design (RBD), consisting of 3 treatments and 3 treatment groups based on body weight. The treatments consist of Local Concentrate + Pork Vegetable (P1), Local Concentrate + Factory Concentrate + Pork Vegetable (P2), and the Factory Concentrate (P3) by grouping based on body weight. The variables measured were diet consumption, weight gain, and efficiency of ration use. The results showed that the treatment had a significant effect (P <0.05) on Weight Gain, Consumption, and Ration Efficiency. The use of concentrated sources by mixing local concentrates, factor concentrates, and pork vegetables give the best for starter phase pigs
