National food security is a problem that must be tackled together, especially in the new normal era caused by the covid 19 pandemic. The yard of the house to produce food is one of the concepts of using yard land both in rural and urban areas to support national food security by empowering potential local food. The yard is not only to create beauty and coolness, but also to improve the economy of each family. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of the community in the use of yard land during the Covid-19 pandemic, to determine the pattern of yard use, and to determine the effectiveness of using yard land in rural areas, especially residents of Carawali Village, Sidrap Regency, in supporting food availability. The data analysis used in this study was an experiment with a one group pre-test post-test design model. In this design, an initial measurement (pre-test) was carried out, after which certain treatment was given, then a re-measurement was carried out (post-test). Sampling in this study using snowball sampling. The results showed that the use of yard land in supporting the food availability of residents in Carawali Village, Watang Pulu District showed that the percentage of the answer scores for the program effectiveness variable described from several questionnaire questions to respondents was in the range of values of 50 - 100%, which means that it is included in the effective criteria
Tekstur Tanah dan Respons Tanaman Tanaman Tomat pada Lahan Masam Diaplikasi Asam Humat dari Sari Kulit Buah Kakao
Acidic land is underutilized as agricultural land because of its lack of nutrients and minimal water content. At the same time, acid land is widespread in Indonesia. This study aimed to determine the soil texture and response of tomato plants after applying manure and humic acid from cocoa pod extract. Humic acid was extracted from cocoa pod skin compost using the Tan method, while soil texture was measured using the pipette method. The experimental design used was a randomized block design with 3 treatments of giving organic matter to acid soil, including untreated acid soil, acid soil + manure, and acid soil + manure + humic acid. The results showed that acid soil + manure treatment could reduce the sand fraction up to 53%. In addition, there was an increase in values for all growth and production parameters of tomato plants, including plant height, number of leaves, and tomato fruit weight in acid soil. The addition of manure + humic acid to acid soil can also increase tomato plants' wet weight, dry weight, and root volume

The sample in this research is purse seine which has a length of 800 m, 900 m, 1000 m, and 1200 m. The composition of the fishermen's catch during the study was skipjack, mackerel, lemuru, and layang. The test results using ANOVA in the treatment of the ring seine length group obtained the value of F-count is 40.275 or significant (0.000). The ANOVA test on replications obtained a value of F-count is 1.623 or a significance value (0.082), meaning that the length of the 1200 meter seine had a significant effect on the fishermen's catch, while the number of replications, namely the observation time during the study year, had no significant effect on the fishermen's catch
Sifat Kimiawi Hidrolisat Protein Ikan Gabus (Channa striata)
Fish protein hydrolyzate (HPI) is a dry protein dosage form with more than 60% protein content. HPI is produced from breaking down fish protein into simple peptides and amino acids through the hydrolysis process by enzymes, acids, or bases. The HPI snakehead product is expected to increase the product's added value because it can be applied in the food and non-food fields. This study aims to obtain the papain enzyme concentration that produces the best HPI through the total residual solids (%) test and the degree of hydrolysis test. In addition, to get the proximate value of HPI flour with the best papain enzyme. Based on the total residual solids test (%) and the degree of hydrolysis (%), the best value was obtained in the treatment of adding 20% papain enzyme. This resulted in a value of 13.25% water content, 0.045% ash content, 20.81% protein content, and 0.28% fat content
Pemberian Enzim Papain Dosis Berbeda dalam Pakan Komersial pada Pemeliharaan Benih Ikan Bandeng (Chanos chanos, Forsskal)
Feed is one of the problems in the milkfish (Chanos chanos, Forsskal) hatchery. The commercial feed contains protein that fish have not optimally utilized. One solution to increase protein absorption is the addition of papain enzymes. This engineering aims to analyze the application of papain enzyme in commercial feed on milkfish fry on survival, growth, feed efficiency, and RNA/DNA ratio. The test fish were milkfish fry with an average weight of 0.0003±0.0 g/head with a density of 15 fish/L. The engineering method used a completely randomized design method with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments tested were administering papain enzyme in commercial feed dosages: 0.5%; 1.50%; 2.25%; and control. The engineering results showed that the administration of papain enzymes with different doses had a significant effect (P<0.05) on the relative growth rate but had no significant effect (P>0.05) on feed utilization efficiency, survival rate, and RNA/DNA ratio of milkfish fry. The highest relative growth rate value was obtained at a dose of 1.5%, which was 4.77±0.06%/day, while the lowest was found at a dose of 0.0% (control), which was 2.86±0.65%/day. The best feed efficiency value during engineering was obtained at a dose of 0.50% papain enzyme treatment of 78.0±29.3%. The highest survival rate in control was 34.6±3.70%, while the lowest was at a dose of 2.25% at 24.9±0.68%. Furthermore, the highest RNA/DNA ratio was obtained at a 1.50% papain enzyme dose of 0.85±0.14/mL, while the lowest was in control with an RNA/DNA ratio of only 0.76±0.06/mL. Water quality parameters during engineering are still within a reasonable range for milkfish fry maintenance

Strategi Pengembangan Agribisnis Hortikultura di Luwu Utara: Suatu Pendekatan Kelembagaan dan Eko-Geografi
The North Luwu Regency Government has established a policy of developing horticultural agribusiness areas and strengthening the distance between the regional center and rural areas as producers of fruit and vegetable commodities. However, the support for the potential of natural resources is still a matter of debate between institutions. The purpose of the research was to describe the potential of eco-geographical resources and the level of importance of the institutional system in the development of horticultural agribusiness. The data that has been obtained were analyzed through two approaches, namely the data concerning the eco-geographical aspect which was analyzed through a regional complex approach. Meanwhile, data concerning social and institutional aspects were analyzed through the Interpretative Structural Modeling (ISM) approach. The results showed that all aspects of eco-geography including topography, marble level, soil type, and rainfall, were potential resources in horticultural development. Although all aspects other than the amount of funding, desperately need effective management. ISM analysis showed that horticulture development requires strategic program support, namely: (1) development of transportation facilities, (2) effectiveness of inter-institutional coordination, (3) program legitimacy and socialization, equal distribution of vision and mission of horticulture programs, (4) optimization of the role of institutions, (5) strengthening commitment between sectors, (6) increasing knowledge, and (7) developing strategic programs. Overall, the program will be easier to implement when it is supported by a strong institutional system
