    PERTUMBUHAN DAN PRODUKSI PADA TUMPANGSARI RUMPUT GAJAH ODOT-KEDELAI DENGAN BERBAGAI JARAK DAN WAKTU TANAM

    Diversification is one solution to increase crop yields. The intercropping system is an example of agricultural diversification. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of various elephant grass cv. odot planting distances and various soybean planting times on the growth and production of elephant grass cv. odot and soybean in an intercropping system. The research was conducted from September 2020 - February 2021 in Kalongan Village, East Ungaran Sub-district, Semarang District, Central Java Province. The 2 × 4 factorial experiment with randomized block design and 3 repeats were used in this study. The first factor is planting distances of elephant grass cv. odot (J) which are 60 × 90 cm (J1) and 45 × 90 cm (J2). The second factor is soybean planting times (T), which were 26, 19, 12, and 5 days before trimming of elephant grass cv. odot for T1, T2, T3 and T4. The parameters observed for elephant grass cv. odot were height, the number of tillers and production, while for soybean were height, the number of leaves and productivity. The data obtained were processed using Analysis of variance (ANOVA) and then the parameters that had a significant effect were tested with Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at a 5% level. Treatment of planting distances and planting times did not significantly affect the growth of elephant grass cv. odot, soybean growth, and productivity of elephant grass cv. odot. Planting distances treatment did significantly affect soybean productivity. The combination treatment of 60 × 90 cm planting distance on elephant grass cv. Odot and 26 days before trimming of elephant grass cv. odot on soybean planting time is the best result for intercropping of elephant grass cv. odot and soybean.Diversification is one solution to increase crop yields.     Sunflower is a commodity that has the potential to be developed as a raw material for producing vegetable oil because it contains high levels of vitamin E. This plant has wide adaptability and requires areas with full sun. However, only certain varieties are able to grow and develop optimally in various agroecosystems. So we need information regarding the suitability of varieties with specific conditions of a location. This study aims to obtain information about varieties that are adaptive to new openings in the highlands of Alahan Panjang, Solok Regency, West Sumatra (1,620 masl) based on growth and yields achieved. The experiment was designed using a Randomized Block Design (RAK) with 3 groups and 5 levels of treatment, namely sunflower varieties. The varieties include IPB BM 1, Ring of fire, Russian Mammoth, Hoppy Black Dye, Black Russian, and Kanigara. The varieties of Russian Mammoth, Ring of Fire, and Hopi Black Dye have better growth when viewed from their adaptability in the research location. Meanwhile, based on the weight of seeds/plant, the percentage of pithy seeds, and the weight of 100 grains the Russian mammoth variety had the best results.Bunga matahari merupakan komoditi yang memiliki potensi untuk dikembangkan sebagai bahan baku penghasil minyak nabati karena mengandung vitamin E yang cukup tinggi. Tanaman ini memiliki daya adaptasi yang luas serta membutuhkan daerah dengan sinar matahari penuh. Diperlukannya suatu informasi mengenai kesesuaian varietas dengan kondisi spesifik suatu lokasi, diketahui bahwa tidak semua varietas mampu untuk tumbuh dan berkembang optimal pada berbagai agroekosistem. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh informasi perihal varietas yang adaptif pada lahan bukaan baru di dataran tinggi Alahan Panjang (1620 mdpl) berdasarkan pertumbuhan dan hasil yang dicapai. Penelitian telah dilaksanakan pada bulan April - November 2021 di Alahan Panjang, Kabupaten Solok, Provinsi Sumatera Barat. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan ialah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 3 kelompok dan 5 taraf perlakuan varietas bunga matahari (IPB BM 1, Ring of fire, Russian mammoth, Hoppy black dye, Black russian dan Kanigara). Varietas Russian mammoth, Ring of fire dan Hopi black dye memiliki pertumbuhan yang lebih baik dibanding tiga varietas lainnya, namun berdasarkan hasil varietas Russian mammoth dan Ring of fire memiliki bobot biji / tanaman terbaik yakni 27,17 g dan 24,57 g. Sedangkan untuk karakter 100 biji, varietas Russian mammoth dan Black russian memiliki hasil yang terbaik yaitu 5,91 g dan 5,26 g, sehingga varietas - varietas tersebut memiliki peluang untuk dikembangkan lebih lanjut.Kata kunci : Adaptif, Bunga matahari, Dataran tinggi, Lahan tidu

    Snack food is one type of product produced by extrusion technology. Generally, extruded snack products are high in carbohydrates and low in protein because the main ingredients used are ingredients with high starch content, such as corn and rice. The protein content of extruded snack products can be increased by adding high-protein ingredients such as snakehead fish. The addition of snakehead fish to snack products can affect the physical and chemical characteristics of the resulting snack. The research aimed to study the effect of the size and concentration of fish grit on the physical characteristics (hardness, fracturability, color, expansion ratio), chemical (moisture content), and hedonic of the extruded snack product with the addition of snakehead fish grit. The study used a factorial completely randomized design consisting of 2 factors, namely factor A (fish grit size) in 3 levels (10, 12, and 20 mesh) and factor B (fish grit percentage) in 2 levels, namely (10%, and 15%). ). As a comparison (control) snacks were used without the addition of fish grit. All treatments were carried out 2 times. The size and concentration of fish grit did not affect the physical characteristics of the extruded snack, either hardness, fracture, or expansion ratio, except that the color of the extruded snack was influenced by the size of the fish grit but not influenced by the concentration or interaction between the size and concentration of the fish grit. The results of the sensory analysis showed that the combination of size and concentration of fish grit did not affect the panelists' acceptance of the sensory parameters of appearance, color, aroma, and texture but did affect the taste parameters.Snack food merupakan salah satu jenis produk yang dihasilkan dengan teknologi ekstrusi.  Umumnya produk snack tinggi kandungan karbohidrat dan rendah protein karena bahan utama yang digunakan adalah bahan dengan kandungan pati yang tinggi seperti seperti jagung dan beras. Kandungan protein dari produk snack dapat ditingkatkan dengan menambahkan bahan tinggi protein seperti ikan gabus. Penambahan bahan tinggi protein pada pembuatan snack dapat mempengaruhi terhadap karakteristik fisik dan kimia snack yang dihasilkan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mempelajari pengaruh ukuran dan konsentrasi grit ikan terhadap karakteristik fisik (hardness, fracturability, warna, rasio ekspansi), kimia (kadar air), dan hedonik dari produk snack ekstrusi dengan panambahan grit ikan gabus.  Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap Faktorial yang terdiri dari 2 faktor yaitu faktor A (ukuran grit ikan) sebanyak 3 taraf (10, 12, dan 20 mesh) dan faktor B (persentasi grit ikan) sebanyak 2 taraf yaitu (10%, dan 15%). Sebagai pembanding (kontrol) digunakan snack tanpa penambahan grit ikan. Semua perlakuan dilakukan sebanyak 2 kali. Ukuran maupun konsentrasi grit ikan tidak mempengaruhi terhadap karakteristik fisik snack baik hardness, fracturability, maupun rasio ekspnasi, kecuali warna snack dipengaruhi oleh ukuran grit ikan tetapi tidak dipengaruhi oleh konsentrasi mamupun interaksi antara ukuran dan konsentrasi grit ikan.  Hasil analisis sensori menunjukkan kombinasi ukuran dan konsentrasi grit ikan tidak mempengaruhi penerimaan panelis terhadap parameter sensori kenampakan, warna, aroma, dan tekstur namun berpengaruh terhadap paremeter rasa.Kata Kunci : ikan gabus, sifat fisik dan kimia, hedonik, snac

    The cocoa bean fermentation process is carried out to improve the quality of cocoa beans as industrial raw materials such as the formation of aroma, color, flavor and can increase the selling value. This study aims to examine the quality of the results of the addition of mixed culture and single culture Lactobacillus plantarum and determine the best quality of fermented cocoa beans with the addition of mixed culture and single culture Lactobacillus plantarum. The cocoa beans used for fermentation were RCC clones from Nglanggeran, Gunung Kidul. This study used a randomized block design (RAK) with different concentrations of yeast and bacteria, namely: single culture 5%, 10%, 15% and mixed culture 5%, 10%, 15% with a long fermentation time for 6 days. Cocoa beans without yeast and bacteria inoculum were used as controls. The single culture and the mixed culture used influenced the different results. The best treatment using a single culture was a single culture of 10%, while the treatment with the addition of mixed cultures was a mixed culture of 10%. The results of the research analysis of some of the best parameters as follows: 37.85?C temperature measurement; pH 5.37; yield 31,369; seeds 100 grams 76.25; water content 7.848%; lactic acid 0.1125%; acetic acid 0.281%; reducing sugar 5.1065; total fat 50.70%; and cut test organoleptic test the preferred treatment by the panelists was Mixed Culture 5%.The cocoa bean fermentation process is carried out to improve the quality of cocoa beans as industrial raw materials such as the formation of aroma, color, flavor and can increase the selling value.     Komposisi Dan Distribusi Plankton Prakemunculan Nike Di Perairan Teluk Gorontalo Provinsi Gorontalo

    The purpose of this study was to determine the composition of the abundance of Nike pre-emergence plankton in the waters of Gorontalo Bay, Gorontalo Province. Sampling was carried out in the Nike catching area at the time of Nike's pre-emergence using a plankton net mesh size of 25 m which was drawn horizontally on the water surface layer with a depth of (30-100 cm) fourth reasons of the Nike pre-emergence period, namely from July to September 2021. The results showed that spatially temporally plankton had a high abundance at the location where Nike fish appeared and the abundance of plankton affected the appearance of Nike fish on the first day in the water-soft Gorontalo Bay, while Nike had eating habits from the Bacillariophyceae group which was the group with the highest abundance spatially and temporally during the study.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui komposisi kelimpahan plankton prakemunculan nike di perairan Teluk Gorontalo Provinsi Gorontalo. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan di wilayah penangkapan nike pada saat prakemunculan nike dengan menggunakan plankton net mesh size 25 µm yang ditarik secara horizontal pada lapisan permukaan air dengan kedalaman (30-100 cm) selama tiga musim periode prakemunculan nike yaitu dari Bulan Juli sampai Bulan September 2021. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara spasial temporal plankton memiliki kelimpahan yang tinggi di lokasi kemunculan ikan nike dan kelimpahan plankton mempengaruhi kemunculan ikan nike pada hari pertama di perairan Teluk Gorontalo sementara nike memiliki kebiasaan makan dari kelompok Bacillariophyceae yang merupakan kelompok dengan kelimpahan tertinggi secara spasial temporal selama penelitian

Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam bentuk percobaan di Green House Fakultas Pertanian UMI dan Laboratorium Mikrobiologi Balai Penelitian Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan.  Penelitian dirancang dalam bentuk rancangan acak lengkap yang terdiri dari  empat perlakuan yaitu media tanam tanah (tanpa bahan organik)  media  tanah + bahan organik sekam,  media  tanah + bahan organik arang sekam dan media tanah + bahan organik sekam dan arang sekam. Setiap perlakuan diulang empat kali dan setiap ulangan digunakan tiga polybag tanaman.  Adapun parameter yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah kadar P-total, P-tersedia, derajat infeksi mikoriza, pertumbuhan tanaman inang yang mencakup tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, panjang akar dan volume akar.  Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan bahan organic sekam dan arang sekam meningkatkan ketersedia hara fosfor sebesar 9,5% dibandingkan tanpa pemberian bahan organik, meningkatkan infeksi mikoriza pada akar tanaman, serta menghasilkan pertumbuhan  tanaman kedelai yang lebih tinggi, jumlah daun yang lebih banyak dan akar yang lebih panjang

    As farm managers, farmers must apply financial behavior to ensure that their farms achieve good agricultural performance. Farmers in the city of Pontianak mainly grow horticultural products, especially vegetables. Therefore, the aims of this research are to determine the financial behavior level and vegetable cultivation performance level of farmers in Pontianak City, farmers' financial behavior affects the performance of vegetable farming in Pontianak City, and formulate efforts to improve the financial behavior of vegetable farmers. This study was conducted in the North Pontianak area of Pontianak City, West Kalimantan, with 90 farmers as respondents. Data were analyzed using descriptive, SEM-PLS with SmartPLS 3.0 tools and qualitative. According to data analysis, the financial behavior of vegetable growers in North Pontianak is classified as poor, and vegetable cultivation in North Pontianak is classified as poor. Additionally, the financial behavior of vegetable farmers in the North Pontianak region has a positive and significant impact on agricultural performance. Pontianak City A formalized effort to improve the financial behavior of vegetable farmers in the North Pontianak District is to provide socialization, training, mentoring, and strengthening with regard to financial reporting, particularly good financial management for growing vegetables

    Fast and applicable seed quality testing methods are needed to support the availability of quality seeds that can be distributed. The Tetrazolium Rapid Test Method is a rapid test method that is currently being implemented in Seed Quality Testing Laboratories. Meanwhile, the Radicle Emergence/RE Rapid Test method is currently being developed to accelerate the supply of quality seeds. This research aims to determine a more precise, efficient, and efficient method. Accurate in predicting corn seed germination in the laboratory and field. This research was carried out in the laboratory using a completely randomized design and in the field using a one-factor randomized block design, namely varieties in the form of ten varieties of corn (Sukmaraga, Srikandi Ungu, Srikandi Kuning, Pulut Uri, Lamuru, Bisi 18, Bisi 2, P32, P35, and Betras 1). The results showed that the Tetrazolium Rapid Test and the RE Rapid Test had a very close correlation in estimating the value of Seed Germination in the Laboratory and the Field. Both methods can be used as Rapid Test methods in Seed Quality Testing laboratories. However, the RE Rapid Test is more economical and practical.Metode Pengujian mutu benih yang cepat dan aplikatif sangat diperlukan untuk mendukung tersedianya benih bermutu yang dapat diedarkan. Metode Uji Cepat Tetrazolium merupakan metode uji cepat yang saat ini sdudah diterapkan di Laboratorium Pengujian Mutu Benih.Sedangkan  metode Uji Cepat Radicle Emergence/RE saat ini sedang dikembangkan dalam rangka percepatan penyediaan benih bermutu.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk  mengetahui metode yang lebih tepat, efisien  dan akurat dalam menduga daya berkecambah benih jagung di Laboratorium dan Lapangan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap  dan di Lapangan dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok satu faktor yaitu varietas berupa sepuluh varietas Jagung ( Sukmaraga,  Srikandi Ungu, Srikandi Kuning, Pulut Uri, Lamuru, Bisi 18,  Bisi 2, P32, P35, dan  Betras 1).  Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Uji Cepat Tetrazolium dan Uji Cepat RE memiliki korelasi yang sangat erat dalam menduga nilai Daya Berkecambah Benih di Laboratorium dan di Lapangan. Kedua metode ini sama-sama dapat digunakan sebagai metode Uji Cepat di laboratorium Pengujian Mutu Benih.  Namun, Uji Cepat RE lebih ekonomis dan lebih praktis untuk dapat dilaksanakan

    The use of high-yielding strawberry varieties such as Sweet Charlie needs to be followed by proper propagation methods to produce large amounts of strawberry seeds quickly and free from disease. In vitro propagation techniques can be done through the formation of a callus. This study aims to determine the effect of the combination of NAA and CaP treatment on the in vitro induction of the Sweet Charlie strawberry variety leaf callus. This experiment was arranged using a completely randomized design (CRD) which consisted of 9 treatments, namely concentrations of NAA (0 mg L-1, 5 mg L-1, 10 mg L-1) and CaP (0 mgL-1, 1 mgL-1, 2mg L-1) which was repeated three times. The results showed that using NAA 5 mgL-1 was the best treatment to support callus induction of the Sweet Charlie strawberry variety in vitro. The supporting with the parameter percentage of callus formation reaching 100%, callus appearance time at 13.5 days after planting (DAP), callus diameter of 9.00 mm, callus weight of 0.52 g, and the percentage of crumbly textured callus was 50%.Penggunaan varietas unggul seperti Sweet Charlie perlu diikuti dengan metode perbanyakan yang tepat agar dapat menghasilkan bibit stroberi dalam jumlah besar dengan waktu yang singkat dan bebas dari penyakit. Teknik perbanyakan secara in vitro dapat dilakukan melalui pembentukan kalus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kombinasi perlakuan NAA dan CaP dalam induksi kalus daun stroberi varietas Sweet Charlie secara in vitro. Percobaan ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Desember 2021 sampai dengan Maret 2022 di Laboratorium Kultur Jaringan Teknologi Benih, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Padjadjaran. Rancangan percobaan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 9 perlakuan, yaitu konsentrasi NAA (0 mg L-1, 5 mg L-1, 10 mg L-1) dan CaP (0 mg L-1, 1 mg L-1, 2 mg L-1) yang diulang sebanyak 3 kali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penggunaan NAA 5 mg L-1 merupakan perlakuan terbaik dalam menunjang induksi kalus daun stroberi varietas Sweet Charlie secara in vitro, dengan parameter persentase membentuk kalus mencapai 100%, waktu muncul kalus pada 13,5 HST, diameter kalus sebesar 9,00 mm, bobot kalus sebesar 0,52 g dan persentase kalus bertekstur remah sebesar 50%. &nbsp

    Analisis Nilai Ekonomi dan Kelayakan Berbasis Skala Usahatani Padi Di Kecamatan Panai Hulu Kabupaten Labuhanbatu

    Up to now, employment in rural areas is still dominated by the primary sector, namely the agricultural sector. Especially the people in Panai Hulu Subdistrict, Labuhan Batu Regency, North Sumatra, still rely on the farming sector as a livelihood as a driver of the economy and to meet the needs of family life, which has a positive impact on improving the welfare of farmers. This study aimed to analyze the economic value and feasibility based on the scale of lowland rice farming in Panai Hulu District. The research analysis method is carried out by calculating the economic value and feasibility of farming by taking into account the economic value (production costs, revenue, income) and the feasibility value (B/C and R/C). The data collection method for this research was through interviews and field observations. The results showed the economic value and feasibility by grouping the average farmer with a land area scale of 0.5–1 ha per planting season. The research resulted in a production of 3,685 kg, total revenue of Rp. 15,430,370, the value of income obtained is Rp. 10,077,410. While the feasibility value of the Benefit–Cost Ratio (B/C) is 1.9 and the Revenue/Cost Ratio (R/C) is 2.9. Farmers with a scale of land area >1 ha per planting season produce 6,812 kg of production, total revenue of Rp. 28,363,030, and the value of the income obtained is Rp. 15,564,404. The Benefit – Cost Ratio (B/C) feasibility value is 1.3, and the Revenue/Cost Ratio (R/C) is 2.3. This value shows that the farming carried out is still quite feasible and appropriate compared to the costs incurred by farmers and has a positive impact on meeting the living needs of the farmer's family.Sektor lapangan pekerjaan yang utama di Kabupaten Labuhanbatu masih didominasi oleh sektor primer yaitu sektor pertanian dan  dalam penyerapan tenaga kerja, saat ini memang belum tergantikan. Peneliti melihat berbagai uraian permasalahan seperti lahan sawah yang pemanfaatan sistem pengairannya masih tadah hujan, ketergantungan ekonomi pedesaan pada sektor pertanian khususnya usahatani padi sawah dalam menciptakan lapangan pekerjaan. Banyaknya kontribusi yang diberikan sektor pertanian untuk menggerakkan roda ekonomi di pedesaan memang tidak dapat digantikan oleh sektor lain, khususnya untuk daerah Kecamatan Panai Hulu di Kabupaten Labuhan Batu. Metode analisis dalam penelitian dilakukan dengan menghitung nilai ekonomi dan kelayakan usahatani dengan memperhitungkan nilai ekonomi (biaya produksi, penerimaan, pendapatan) dan nilai kelayakan (B/C dan R/C). Metode pengumpulan data primer melalui wawancara dan observasi lapangan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian secara kualitatif dengan melihat gambaran keadaan lokasi peneltian, yang menentukan besar kecilnya nilai ekonomi dan kelayakan usahatani padi sawah seperti luas lahan yang dimiliki petani, jenis pengairan, serta pola curah hujan yang tidak menentu. Rata-rata pendapatan masih tergolong sesuai dan layak bila dibandingkan dengan biaya yang dikeluarkan petani baik dari segi pendapatan dan penerimaan petani dan memberikan dampak yang positif untuk memenuhi kebutuhan hidup keluarga petani Kata Kunci : Biaya Produksi dan Penerimaan, Pendapatan, Kelayakaan usahatani
