No full textWhen the Dutch language was used nation- wide in this country several decades ago, the Indonesian language had much been influenced by it. A lot of Dutch words were absorbed unto the Indonesian language. One of the influences which still exists up to the present time is about the transcription of the Dutch words having the isch sufixes transcribed into is in the Indone- sian language. Some other words have been transcribed in the same way such as: logisch into logis, egoistich egonstis, democratisch into demokratis, praktisch into praktis, historisch into historis, medisch into medis, etc

No full textThis paper aims to describe the similarity and the difference ofArabic and Indonesian verbal sentence structure. To get this goal used thecontrastive and comparative methods. The material object is limited by verbal sentence structure with it contains 1) single transitive sentence 2) double transitive sentence 3) intransitive sentence 4) semi transitive sentence, and passive sentence. The data resources taken from five Arabic and Indonesian grammar/syntax books chosen and analyzed quantitatively, such as describing. selecting, contrasting. and concluding. The result of analyzed data concludes some of syntax similarities between Arabic and Indonesian verbal sentence structure. This difference looks that the Arabic active verbal sentence structure more variety than Indonesian and Indonesianpassive verbal sentence structure more variety than Arabic

No full textBertahun-tahun sejak Snouck Horgronje mengadakan penelitian peleografi nisan makam kuna Aceh pada tahun 1906 Masehi(Tjndrasasmita, 1980:107), dan dilanjutkan sampai kini oleh generasi-generasi sesudahnya dengan obyek yang berbeda , belum ada satupun laporan mereka yeng mengentengahkan analisis terhadap Inskripsi syair yang dipahatkan pada beberapa nisan makam kuna yang sebenarnya telah mereka laporkan keberadaannya dan pembacanya itu.Namun, panntas disyukuri sebaba diantara mereka ada yang telah mengemukakan dan memaparkan data berkaitan dengan pembacaan inskripsi syair tersebut, seperti HasanMuarif Abrary (1980), A.Cholid Sodrie (1990), Lukaman Nurkim (1990) , dan lain-lain. Mereka belum sempat menganalisis persebaran nisan-nisanberinskripsi syair tersebut . Mereka uga belum membahas syair-syair tersebut secara mendalam. Hal itu mungkin juga karena adanya ikatan norma yang melekat dalam pembahsan arkeologi yang mengutamakan pembahasan benda-benda tinggalan masa lalu, bukan pembahasan materi syair yang terpahat pada benda-benda itu

The objectives of the research are 1. To investigate how women are described and positioned in the short story 2. To assess the implied attitudes of the author toward gender in the short story. 3. To identify the attitudes of the editors toward gender in the short story. The research results that; first women are described and positioned in the short story as suffered and powerless human beings. Second, the author implies that both women and men have ambivalent attitudes toward gender. Third, the editors let gender issues go to the public without qualification
