    Kefasihan Bahasa Hadis Nabi dalam Perubahan Kata Kerja

    Temuan penelitian ini adalah pola peralihan atau ʻudūl dalam hadis adalah salah satu karakteristik sastrawi dari hadis. Peralihan kata kerja, baik dalam jenis kata kerja yang satu wazan maupun antar kata kerja yang berbeda, bukanlah suatu penyimpangan kebahasaan. Pendekatan pragmatik menemukan alasan-alasan yang tepat dalam pola peralihan tersebut. Tulisan ini akan menguatkan seri penelitian Sahrawi dalam “Al-Tadāwulīyah ʻInd ʻUlamāʼ al-ʻArab” (2005) dan Abdul-Raof melalui tulisannya dalam jurnal Language berjudul “Arabic Rhetoric: A Pragmatic Analysis” (2009) yang menegaskan bahwa pola perubahan kata dalam teks keagamaan Alquran dan hadis merupakan keistimewaan keduanya, bukan titik kelemahan. Hal ini didasari pada kerangka teori ilmu simantik dan pragmatik yang melingkarinya. Penelitian ini bersifat kualitatif yang bersifat penelitian pustaka (library research) menggunakan pendekatan ilmu dilālah yang diterapkan Ghayyats Baboo melalui tulisannya dalam jurnal Dirāsat fī al-Lughah al-‘Arabīyah wa Adabihā berjudul Dilālat Al-ʻudūl fī Siyāgh al-Af‘āl (2013). This article strengthens Sahrawi\u27s research series in "Al-Tadāwulīyah ʻInd ʻUlamāʼ al-ʻArab" (2005) and Abdul-Raof in his article in Language Journal entitled "Arabic Rhetoric: Pragmatic Analysis" (2009) which determines the pattern of changes in the words in the religious texts of the Qur\u27an and hadith is an advantage, not a weakness. This is based on the semantic theory of evolution and the pragmatics surrounding it. It is qualitative research with library research methdo that uses scientific research applied by Ghayyats Baboo through his writings in the Dirāsat fī al-Lughah al-‘Arabīyah wa Adabihā Journal entitled Dilālat Al-ʻudūl fī Siyāgh al-Af‘āl (2013). The finding of this study is the pattern of transition or ʻudūl in the hadith is one of the literary characteristics of the hadith. The transition of verbs, both in the type of verb that is one wazan or between different verbs, not a language deviation. The pragmatics theory is finding the right reasons in the transition pattern

    Jamiat Kheir dan Al-Irsyad: Kajian Komunitas Arab dalam Modernisasi Pendidikan Islam Awal Abad XX di Jakarta

    Sejak  abad 18 Orang Arab telah berbondong-bondong mendatangi tanah Batavia karena dianggap tempat yang memesona dan menjanjikan. Sejak itu pula orang Arab telah menjadi salah satu bagian multikulturalisme di Jakarta. Mereka berkecimpung dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan dan mencoba berbaur dengan orang Pribumi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran komunitas Arab di Jakarta dalam modernisasi Pendidikan Islam di awal abad XX di Jakarta. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan melakukan wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Wawancara dilakukan kepada tokoh-tokoh-tokoh Jami’at Kheir dan Al-Irsyad; Observasi, dengan mengunjungi langsung sekolah-sekolah yang dimiliki oleh organisasi Jami’at Kheir dan Al-Irsyad; Dokumentasi dengan mengamati naskah-naskah pendirian awal sekolah Jami’at Kheir dan Al-Irsyad.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa orang-orang Arab telah memainkan peran yang cukup penting dalam pendidikan Islam di Jakarta. Mereka bersumbangsih besar dalam modernisasi pendidikan Islam di Jakarta pada awal abad 20, melalui dua organisasi yang didirikannya di Jakarta, Jami’at Kheir dan Al-Irsyad. Mereka mengabdikan diri dalam pendidikan Islam dan mencetuskan konsep baru sistem pendidikan Islam di Jakarta. Since the 18th century Arab People had come to the land of Batavia because it was considered a charming and promising place. Since then, Arab People have become a part of multiculturalism in Jakarta. They are involved in various aspects of life and try to blend in with the Indigenous people. This study aims to analyze the role of the Arab community in Jakarta in the modernization of Islamic Education in the early XX century in Jakarta. The method used in this study was qualitative by conducting interviews, observation and documentation. Interviews were conducted with prominent figures of Jami\u27at Kheir and Al-Irshad; observation, by visiting schools directly owned by the Jami\u27at Kheir and Al-Irshad organizations; documentation by observing manuscripts of the early establishment of the Jami\u27at Kheir and Al-Irshad schools. The Arab People had also played a significant role in Islamic education in Jakarta. They contributed greatly to the modernization of Islamic education in Jakarta in the early 20th century, through the two organizations was founded in Jakarta, Jami\u27at Kheir and Al-Irshad. They devoted themselves to Islamic education and sparked a new concept of the Islamic education system in Jakarta

    Busana, Tubuh, dan Maskulinitas Hegemonik dalam Novel No Knives in the Kitchens of This City

    This article discusses how the author describes Sawsan\u27s body and clothing and whether Sawsan is controlled by a system of hegemonic masculinity and male gaze. This study uses descriptive-analytical method to get a detailed description or description of the main character in Khaled Khalifa’s novel No Knives in the Kitchens of this City as the object of the study. The data in this study are all corpuses related to the main character collected by marking, rewriting, and grouping according to the research questions raised. All data collected ware analyzed qualitatively with relevant concepts and approaches. The study indicates that the main character, Sawsan, was a woman who opposes and even destroys the rules and customs of her family and is dubbed as irrepressible. In addition, this study also shows that Sawsan looked an independent and uncontrolled woman; though her body and clothing remain under control of a system that occupied her perception of herself as a woman. Based on the data analysis it can be concluded that Sawsan is dominated by male perceptions including hegemonic masculinity and man\u27s gaze towards her body that influenced her psychological conditions such as being proud, confident, and insulted. Artikel ini membahas bagaimana pengarang mendeskripsikan tubuh dan busana Sawsan dan apakah Sawsan terkontrol dengan suatu sistem yang disebut maskulinitas hegemonik dan male gaze.  Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif-analitis untuk mendapatkan deskripsi atau uraian detail mengenai tokoh utama di dalam novel No Knives in the Kitchens of this City karya Khaled Khalifa sebagai objek kajiannya. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh korpus yang berhubungan dengan tokoh utama yang dikumpulkan dengan cara menandai, menuliskan kembali, dan mengelompokkan sesuai dengan pertanyaan penelitian yang diajukan. Seluruh data terkumpul dianalisis secra kualitatif dengan konsep dan pendekatan yang relevan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tokoh Sawsan merupakan seorang perempuan yang menentang bahkan merusak tata aturan dan adat istiadat keluarganya sehingga dijuluki sang pemberontak. Selain itu, hasil penelitian ini juga memperlihatkan meskipun Sawsan terlihat sebagai seorang wanita yang mandiri, bebas, dan tidak bisa diatur; tubuh dan busananya tetap terkontrol oleh suatu sistem yang menguasai persepsi akan dirinya sendiri sebagai seorang wanita. Berdasarkan analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa Sawsan dikuasai oleh persepsi laki-laki termasuk maskulinitas hegemonik dan male gaze terhadap tubuhnya dan mempengaruhi keadaan jiwanya seperti membuat bangga, percaya diri, dan terhina. يكشف هذا المقال عن شخصية سوسان في رواية خالد خليفة بعنوان " لا سكاكين في مطابيخ هذه المدينة"، وهي امرأة متمردة تعارض قواعد عائلتها وتُلقب بـ "المتمردين". على الرغم من أن سوسن تبدو مستقلة ولا يمكن التحكم فيها، إلا أن جسمه وملابسه يسيطر عليهما نظام يتحكم في تصوره لنفسه. و تتناول هذه الدراسة كيف يصف المؤلف جسد سوسن وملابسه وما إذا كان سوسان يسيطر عليه نظام يسمى الذكورة المهيمنة ونظرة الذكور أو نظرة الذكور. و تستخدم هذه الدراسة طربقة وصفية تحليلية للحصول على بيانات وصفية من الوصف والتفاصيل في الرواية. بناءً على تحليل البيانات، استنتج الباحث أن سوسن تهيمن عليه تصورات الرجال بما في ذلك الذكورة المهيمنة ونظرة الذكور نحو جسمه وتؤثر على حالته العقلية مثل جعله فخورًا، واثقًا، ومهينًا

    Asbab Al-Nuzul as Historical Criticism on The Emergence of Revisionist Islam

    This study was aimed to construct early of Islamic history by using sources of asbab al-nuzul. The use of the history of asbab al-nuzul was expected to provide a critique of the revisionist’s view of the early of Islam. This study used two methods, the historical critical method and hermeneutics. Data on in this study focused on asbab al-nuzul al-Qur’an by al-Wahidi. The study concluded that the asbab al-nuzul, which seen as an exegesis device, basically was a historical device that provided historical narrative and context in the early days of Islam. Because of this, asbab al-nuzul was used by many commentators as a tool for understanding the Qur’an. This research found that Islam emerged in Hijaz with a number of narratives asbab al-nuzul that mentioned. Likewise, it was found the intersection of Islam with other religions indicated that Islam was not exclusive and was not a continuation of these religions. Islam was present in a mulitireligious society. Islam existed to restore the deviation of worship performed by the majority of the Arab. The criteria required in the asbab al-nuzul could be considered valid because they could fulfil the historical assumptions set by the revisionists

    Perceived Usefulness and Ease of Use as Predictors of Early-year Lawyers Satisfaction with Law Pavilion Electronic Law Reports

    This study examined perceived usefulness and ease of use as predictors of early-year lawyers’ satisfaction with Law Pavilion Electronic Law Reports (LPELR). Descriptive survey design was adopted and questionnaire was the instrument used to collect data. Total population sampling was adopted to select sample size. A total of 300 copies of questionnaires were administered on the respondents. However, only 248 copies were returned completely filled and validated for the study. The Cronbach alpha reliability for the study is 0.782. It was found that there is strong positive relationship between perceived ease of use and perceived satisfaction and that there is positive relationship between perceived usefulness and perceived satisfaction. The study findings show that electronic law reports are easy to use and useful for early-year lawyers in their legal research. The study concludes that, as much as the law profession is conservative in nature, the use of e-law reports is making inroads to the profession. It was recommended that technical service provision by LPELR should be improved significantly. Above all, electronic law reports licensors should ensure that task importance of electronic law reports is given utmost consideration when they are designing the system qualities of e-law reports

    Sexism of Gender in Arabic Vocabulary and Its Influence in Social Culture

    This study aims to explain how the linguistic elements of Arabic language reflects the social life of its users or society. This qualitative research relies on Arabic words and sentences as the main data taken from literatures and other written documents. The collected data are analysed qualitatively using a sociolinguistic approach to explain how the society use the Arabic words or sentences in their social interaction. The research reveals that Arabic language is one of the international languageswhich has the highest content of gender sexism among other languages in the world. Each Arabic word and sentence contain a gender identity (masculine and feminine). The Arabic or sentences that have a masculine identity are strong, strong, primary needs, and independent; whereas, the Arabic words or sentences that have a feminine identity are more likely to have the characteristics of cleanliness, health, secondary needs, and dependent. It can be concluded that the mastery of Arabic language requires not only the understanding of its words and sentences, but also its users’ social life where the Arabic Language grows and develops. In other words, the use of Arabic language cannot be separated from the ideology, culture and social life of its users. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan bagaimana unsur-unsur linguistik bahasa Arab  menggambarkan kehidupan social masyarakat penggunanya. Penelitian kualitatif ini mengandalkan kata dan kalimat bahasa Arab sebagai data utama yang diambil dari literatur dan dokumen tulis lainnya. Data terkumpul dianalisis secara kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan sosiolingistik untuk menjelaskan setiap kata atau kalimat bahasa Arab yang digunakan oleh sebuah komunitas masyarakat dalam  interaksi sosial. Dalam penelitian terungkap bahwa bahasa Arab merupakan salah satu Bahasa internasional yang mengandung muatan seksisme gender paling tinggi di antara Bahasa-bahasa lain di dunia. Setiap kata dan kalimat bahasa Arab memuat identitas gender (maskulin dan feminine). Kata atau kalimat yang beridentitas maskulin memiliki sifat kokoh, kuat, kebutuhan primer, dan independen; sedangkan, kata atau kalimat yang beridentitas feminin lebih cenderung pada sifat yang berkaitan dengan ketertiban, kebersihan, kesehatan, kebutuhan skunder dan dependen. Dapat disimupulkan bahwa memahami bahasa Arab tidak cukup dengan memahami kata dan kalimatnya, namun perlu juga memahami kehidupan sosial masyarakat penggunanya di mana Bahasa Arab tersebut tumbuh dan berkembang. Dengan kata lain, Bahasa Arab tidak akan lepas dari ideologi, budaya dan kehidupan sosial masyarakat penggunanya. تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى وصف الرموز في اللغة التي تعرض المجتمع. اللغة العربية من اللغات الدولية التي تحتوي على أعلى المحتويات للتمييز الجنسي في العالم. و تحتوي اللغة العربية في كل كلمة على هوية جنس (ذكورية وأنثوية). تشرح هذه الدراسة أن الجمل ذات الهويات الذكورية لها احتياجات قوية، قوة، أولية، واستقلال. في حين أن الكلمات التي لها هوية أنثوية من المرجح أن تكون سمات تحتوي على أمور تتعلق بالنظام والنظافة والصحة والاحتياجات الثانوية و التبعية. و يستخدم منهج اللغة الاجتماعية، لشرح كل كلمة عربية، لأن اللغة هي طموح مجتمع في التفاعل الاجتماعي. و يشير هذا البحث إلى أن فهم اللغة لا يكفي لفهم كلمات ورموز اللغة فقط، ولكن من الضروري فهم المجتمع الاجتماعي حيث تنمو وتطور اللغة. بمعنى آخر، كانت اللغة العربية وفقا لإيديولوجية الناطقين و ثقافتهم و حياتهم الاجتماعي

    The Pattern of Science Transmission: A Study on Ibnu Hajar al-Asqalani in Teaching and Writing

    This article aimed to identify the transmission patterns of knowledge carried out by Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani in his intellectual activities. Since the article focused on historical topics, the historical method was applied by analyzing historical facts from its sources. The result obtained was the existence of transmission patterns of knowledge that had been carried out by him in intellectual activities, namely teaching and writing books. Through teaching activities, the target of the transmission of knowledge was the student. Many of his students who later succeeded in becoming scientists who famed. Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani, of course, had a big contribution in delivering them to be scientists. On the other hand, through the activity of writing the book, the target of the transmission of knowledge was the reader. The various books that he wrote had been used as reading material in getting knowledge. As a conclusion, Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani had chosen the most effective pattern in the activity of transmitting knowledge, including patterns that were not bound by time and location

    Dimensi Tasawuf dalam Musik Religi Bimbo, 1974-1980: Sebuah Kajian Sejarah

    This article discusses Islamic da\u27wa delivered through music with its song lyrics. The purpose of this study is to uncover Islamic da\u27wa in Bimbo songs. Bimbo\u27s type of music is categorized as seasonal music which is only popular at certain times, especially the month of Ramadan. The research used a historical approach to uncover the development of Bimbo songs, and a semantic approach is also used to analyze the meaning and Sufism message contained in their song lyrics. Based on data analysis conducted, it is known that in Indonesia, Bimbo was a music group established in Bandung in 1974 that pioneered religious music and songs. Bimbo started its career through pop music with love, politic, environment, and humor themes. For six years, the Bimbo music group has sung more than 50 songs adopted from Taufiq Ismail \u27s Islamic poetry some of which were about Sufism. The theme of Sufism in Bimbo songs illustrates the deep inspiration of the singer and creator so that it becomes separate preaching that is easily accepted by the community. It can be concluded that Bimbo, the religious music group was famous for its musical character and Islamic poetry which contains the Sufiems values. Artikel ini membahas tentang tema tasawuf sebagai dakwah Islam yang disampaikan melalui seni musik dalam syair-syair lagu. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengungkap dakwah Islam dalam lagu-lagu Bimbo. Jenis musik Bimbo dikategorikan sebagai musik musiman yang hanya populer pada saat-saat tertentu, khususnya bulan Romadhan.  Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan sejarah untuk mengungkap perkembangan lagu-lagu Bimbo. Pendekatan semantik juga digunakan untuk menganalisis makna dan pesan tasawwuf dalam lagu Bimbo. Berdasarkan analisis data yang dilakukan, diketahui bahwa di Indonesia, musik religi Islam dipelopori oleh kelompok musik Bimbo asal Bandung pada 1974. Bimbo mengawali kariernya melalui musik pop yang bertemakan cinta, politik, lingkungan, dan humor atau jenaka. Selama enam tahun kelompok musik Bimbo telah menyanyikan lagu dengan syair islami karya Taufiq Ismail sekitar lebih dari 50-an lagu, bahkan ada yang bertemakan tasawuf. Tema tasawuf dalam lagu-lagu Bimbo menggambarkan penjiwaan yang dalam pada penyanyi dan penciptanya sehingga menjadi dakwah tersendiri yang mudah diterima di kalangan masyarakat. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa kelompok musik religi Bimbo terkenal dengan karakter musik dan syair islami yang mengandung nilai-nilai tasawuf. يناقش هذا البحث الدعوة الإسلامية التي يتم تقديمها من خلال فن الموسيقى في نصوص الأغاني. و الغرض من هذه الدراسة كشف الدعوة الإسلامية في أغاني بيمبو(Bimbo). أغاني بيمبو(Bimbo)   موسيقى مؤقتة تحظى بشعبية كبيرة في أوقات معينة فقط، خاصة في شهر رمضان. و الطريقة المستخدمة في هذا البحث هي الطريقة التاريخية و الدلالية. استنادًا إلى تحليل البيانات الذي تم إجراؤه، من المعروف أن الموسيقى الدينية الإسلامية في إندونيسيا كانت رائدة في مجموعة Bimbo الموسيقية من باندونج في عام 1974. بدأ Bimbo مسيرته المهنية من خلال موسيقى البوب (Musik Pop) بعنوان: الحب، والسياسة، والبيئة، والفكاهة. على مدار ست سنوات، غنت مجموعة بيمبو الموسيقية أغاني الشعر الإسلامي يؤلف توفيق إسماعيل أكثر من 50 أغنية، و أن هناك الأغاني بالموضوعات الصوفية. و يوضح الموضوع الصوفي في أغنيات Bimbo الإلهام العميق للمغني والمبدع بحيث يصبح عظة منفصلة يتم قبولها بسهولة في المجتمع. لذلك، استنتج الباحث أن مجموعة بمبو(Bimbo) الموسيقية الدينية تشتهر بطابعها الموسيقي والشعر الإسلامي الذي يحتوي على القيم الصوفية ويؤثرعلى تطور الموسيقى في إندونيسيا أيضا

    Literature and Society: Singir\u27s Structure and Function for the Javanese Santri Community

    AbstractThis article aimed to examine the structure of Javanese singir as an adaptation work of poetry tradition originating from outside Javanese culture and its function for the reading community. This study compared the six Javanese singirs of the library of Universitas Indonesia (Singir Ahli Suwarga, Singir Dagang, Singir Kiamat, Singir Nasihat Jaman Akhir, Singir Patimah, and Singir Santri) with some Arabic and Malay poetry and then discussed them in the social context of Javanese coastal communities. Through a comparative structural approach and sociological studies, this article found that Javanese singir was structurally linked with Arabic poetry rather than with Malay poetry. This could be found in the metrum system which was close to the metrum of kamil majzu’, and various rhyming patterns which were a combination of murabba’ rhyme and muzdawij. The influence of Malay poetry in the six singirs seemed to have little effect, which was limited to aspects of the rhyme pattern a-a-a-a, b-b-b-b that were not fully used. Through an examination of the connection between the six singirs and the reading community, this article also  found that there were two functions of singir; entertaining, and didactic functions that taught various social and religious aspects to the Javanese santri community

    Vagrants’ Communication Behavior in Interpersonal Relations in Jakarta

    Abstract The study aimed to know the communication management pattern of interpersonal communicationactivities among vagrants and other communities. The study made use of qualitative researchintended to get complete description of interpersonal communication phenomena that occurredamong vagrants and other communities. The research relied on observation and in-depth interviewswith ten vagrants which were spread in some places in Jakarta, Depok, Tangerang Selatan,Tangerang, Bogor, and Bekasi.  The collected data were analyzed using Johari Window theory toexplain which frame underlay how vagrants conducted interpersonal and intrapersonalcommunication. The result showed that vagrants did their communication activities by dividingthemselves into open and close areas. The other communication behavior was done throughmechanism management of impression which was made to manage and organize how to behave ininterpersonal communication and relation with others as a form of adaptation and an effort to keepharmony in social interaction and communication. It can be concluded that the vagrants are part ofthe social system and structure of the community that has traditions and culture that need to berespected and appreciated. Keywords: vagrant; self; impression management, Johari Windo
