    The Sinau Lake is one of the oxbow lakes in Kapuas Hulu, West Kalimantan, which will be used for various purposes, but limnological data is not available. The research objective was to obtain data on the structure of the phytoplankton community and the water quality conditions of Sinau Lake so that it could be used as preliminary data for management and utilization. Samples were taken using purposive sampling method. Water quality is still good with a high plankton diversity index, low dominance and high evenness. Water quality still support the life of aquatic biota or aquaculture

    This study aims to compare several extraction methods to obtain the active component of the qualitative Curcum rhizome. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive analysis. Curcuma rhizome used comes from 4 types of plants Curcuma xanthorriza (temulawak), Curcuma domestica (turmeric), Curcuma mango (temu mangga) and Curcuma zedoaria (temu putih). The extraction method used consisted of maseration, reflux and soxhlet method. From the research result it was found that all three extraction methods can be used (maceration, soxhletasi and reflux) to extract the curcuma rhizomes. The result of phytochemical test of metabolite secondary detectable and very strong both of atsiri and non-essential oil group is using reflux method then new method of soxhletasi and then maceration method

    The duration of submersion and the level of acid concentration which are the decisive factors to succed the chemical scarification. The duration of submersion should be adjusted to the level of seed skin thickness, the level of acid concentration and the type of acid used. This study aimed to analyze the inmersion effect of kemiri sunan seeds in sulfuric acid solution to break the seed dormancy and to get the most effective time of submersion in order to break the dormancy of kemiri sunan seed. The experiment was conducted in the greenhouse for 2 months (62 days). The randomized complete design was employed as experimental method. There were 4 treament tested, i.e : (1) control (without immersion in H2SO4 solution); (2) immersion in H2SO4 solution for 10 minutes; (3) immersion in H2SO4 solution for 20 minutes and (4) immersion in H2SO4 solution for 30 minutes. The results of research showed that control gave the best results in term of the percentage of germination (G), mean daily gremination (MDG), and germination rate (GR).Lama waktu perendaman dan besaran konsentrasi asam yang ditentukan merupakan faktor penentu dalam keberhasilan skarifikasi kimia. Lama waktu perendaman harus disesuaikan dengan tingkat ketebalan kulit benih, besaran konsentrasi asam yang ditentukan dan jenis asam yang digunakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh perendaman benih kemiri sunan dalam larutan asam sulfat terhadap pemecahan dormansi benih dan mendapatkan lama waktu perendaman yang paling efektif dalam rangka pemecahan dormansi benih kemiri sunan. Percobaan dilakukan di rumah kaca selama 2 bulan (62 hari). Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan yang terdiri dari (1) kontrol (tanpa perendaman dalam larutan H2SO4 20%); (2) perendaman dalam larutan H2SO4 20% selama 10 menit; (3) perendaman dalam larutan H2SO4 20% selama 20 menit  dan (4) perendaman dalam larutan H2SO4 20% selama 30 menit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa benih yang dikecambahkan pada perlakuan tanpa perendaman memberikan hasil terbaik dalam hal persentase benih berkecambah, rata-rata jumlah benih berkecambah per-hari, dan rata-rata hari benih berkecambah

    Study of biology  reproductive selais Terang Bulan (Kryptopterus bicirrhis) fish  in Mentulik village of Kampar Kiri River  is conducted in February – July 2017. As for the goal of the research is to examine aspects of fish reproduction K. bicirrhis include sex ratio,  development of the gonads, fecundity, spawning season and also spawning patterns. Fish K. bicirrhis totaled encounter 40-tail fish tail consists of 30 males and 10 females, fish tail with sex ratio of 3:1. Average total body length and weight Milter is the 8.2-11.5 cm (2.47-5,31 g) and females 8.4-11.5 cm (2.64-5,05 g), with a pattern of growth are allometrik negative. The level of maturity of the Gonads (WGP) males and females fish found in the WGP II-IV. Fecundity egg K. bicirrhis totaled  10,657 grain, and has a pattern of spawning are total spawner.Penelitian Biologi Reproduksi ikan selais Terang Bulan (Kryptopterus bicirrhis) di Desa Mentulik Sungai Kampar Kiri dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari – Juli 2017. Adapun tujuan penelitian yaitu untuk mengkaji aspek reproduksi ikan K. bicirrhis meliputi nisbah kelamin,  perkembangan gonad, fekunditas, musim pemijahan dan juga pola pemijahan. Ikan K. bicirrhis yang didapatkan berjumlah 40 ekor terdiri dari 30 ekor ikan jantan dan 10 ekor ikan betina, dengan nisbah kelamin 3 : 1. Rerata panjang dan berat total tubuh ikan jantan adalah 8,2-11,5 cm (2,47-5,31 g) dan ikan betina 8,4-11,5 cm (2,64-5,05 g), dengan pola pertumbuhan bersifat allometrik negatif. Tingkat Kematangan Gonad (TKG) ikan jantan dan betina ditemukan pada tahap TKG II-IV. Fekunditas telur K. bicirrhis berjumlah  10.657 butir, dan memiliki pola pemijahan yang bersifat total spawner

    Indole Acetic Acid (IAA)  is an important that could improve plant growth. Actinomycetes is one group of bacteria that could produce IAA. The purpose of this study was to examines the potential of actinomycetes from Siak, Riau Peatland in producing IAA the effects to red pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) germination. The result of this study was collected 21 isolates of actinomycetes which able only to produced  IAA in SCB (Starch Casein Broth) medium with tryptophan addition. The produce highest IAA in L225 isolate with concentration 37,70 ± 1,00 µg/ml by medium SCB with typtophan addition. 14 isolates gave respons for length of sprouts parameters and 20 isolates gave effect to the root length parameters for red pepper seeds with incubation for 15 day.Indole Acetic Acid (IAA) berperan penting dalam memacu pertumbuhan tanaman. Aktinomisetes merupakan salah satu kelompok bakteri yang mampu menghasilkan IAA. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyeleksi aktinomisetes dari tanah gambut Siak, Riau dalam menghasilkan IAA dan pengaruhnya terhadap perkecambahan tanaman cabai merah (Capsicum annum L.). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan 21 isolat aktinomisetes hanya mampu menghasilkan IAA pada medium Starch Casein Broth (SCB) diperkaya triptofan. Produksi IAA tertinggi dihasilkan oleh isolat L225 dengan konsentrasi 37,70 ± 1,00 µg/ml pada medium SCB diperkaya triptofan. Ada 14 isolat aktinomisetes memberikan respons terhadap panjang kecambah dan 20 isolat memberikan pengaruh terhadap panjang akar pada benih cabai merah dengan inkubasi selama 15 hari

    The objective of this research was to assess the response of Jatropha curcas to indigenous Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF) and P fertilizers applications in former coal mine fields. This study used a single factor Randomized Block Design which is a combination of mycorrhiza and P fertilizer consisting of 10 levels (without FMA and without P fertilizer, without FMA and 25% recommended doses of P fertilizer, without FMA and 50% recommended doses of P fertilizer, without FMA and 75% recommended doses of P fertilizer, without FMA and 100% recommended doses of P fertilizer, FMA and without P fertilizer, FMA and 25% recommended doses of P fertilizer, FMA and 50% recommended doses of P fertilizer, FMA and 75% doses of P fertilizer, FMA and 100% recommended doses of P fertilizer), with recommended doses is 150 Kg SP 36 / ha The observed variables were N, P, K uptake and Jatropha curcas yield. The results showed that the symbiotic of Jatropha curcas with FMA combined with 50% recommended dose of P fertilizer gave the best N, P, K uptake and Jatropha curcas yield in Coal Post-Mining Land

    Struktur Komunitas Fitoplankton di Perairan Muara Sungai Bengawan Solo, Ujung Pangkah, Jawa Timur

    Estuary is one of an aquatic ecosystem that has something unique, because it is a meeting area of the fresh and sea water.  This study aimed to analyze phytoplankton structure community in estuary of Bengawan Solo River, conducted from January to June 2001 at ten stations distributing from river, estuary and sea. Data analysis was done to evaluate species composition, abundance, diversity, evenness, and dominance indices of the phytoplankton.  Clustering based on the phytoplankton abundance was done by using Bray Curtis index.  Based on the study, the phytoplankton in the estuary of Bengawan Solo River consisted of 5 classes and 33 species such as. Bacillariophyceae (19 species), Cyanophyceae (2 species), Crysophyceae (3 species), Chlorophyceae (3 species) and Dinophyceae (6 species). Phytoplankton abundance varied, at the river station was 1026-3005 inde/l, the estuary was 5098-19727 inde/l, and the sea was 4206-8697 inde/l.  Diversity Index (H) was 0, 29-2, 24, Evenness Index (E) was 0, 02-0, 98, and Dominant Index (C) was 0, 12-0, and 88. There were 3 groups according to clustering analysis based on the phytoplankton abundance using Bray Curtis Index (55%)

    In vaname shrimp cultivation system, bacterial disease is a problem that often arises that mainly caused by the bacteria Vibrio sp. Sinbiotic application is one way to prevent disruption of the disease. Sinbiotic is nutritional supplements that  made from the combination of probiotic and prebiotic that can provide beneficial effects to the host. This research uses a local sinbiotic of probiotic bacteria Bacillus sp. D2.2, which comes from the traditional ponds in the Mulyosari village, Pasir Sakti district, Lampung Timur Regency, Lampung. Prebiotic that used in this research made from meal extracts of purple sweet potato that had the best capability to support the growth of bacteria probiotic Bacillus sp. D2.2. This research aims to know the effectivity of sinbiotic against the infection of vibriosis againts to vaname shrimp by doing analysis of clinical symptoms and tissue damage post test challenge using bacteria Vibrio harveyi. The results showed that addition sinbiotic gave effect to SR 6,25 %, MTD 13,80 hour, and clinical symptoms and then tissue damage is lower than without the feeding of sinbiotik.Pada sistem budidaya udang vaname penyakit bakterial merupakan permasalahan yang sering timbul terutama yang disebabkan oleh bakteri Vibrio sp. Aplikasi sinbiotik merupakan salah satu cara yang dilakukan untuk mencegah gangguan penyakit tersebut. Sinbiotik merupakan suplemen nutrisi kombinasi antara probiotik dan prebiotik yang dapat memberikan efek menguntungkan bagi inang. Penelitian ini menggunakan sinbiotik lokal berupa bakteri probiotik Bacillus sp. D2.2 yang berasal dari tambak tradisional di Desa Mulyosari, Kecamatan Pasir Sakti, Kabupaten Lampung Timur, Lampung. Prebiotik yang digunakan berupa ekstrak tepung ubi jalar ungu yang memiliki kemampuan terbaik dalam menunjang pertumbuhan bakteri probiotik Bacillus sp. D2.2. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas sinbiotik terhadap infeksi vibriosis pada udang vaname dengan melakukan analisis gejala klinis dan kerusakan jaringan pasca uji tantang dengan bakteri Vibrio harveyi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pakan sinbiotik mampu meningkatkan nilai SR 6,25 %, MTD 13,80 jam, dan memiliki gejala klinis serta kerusakan jaringan yang lebih rendah dibandingkan tanpa pemberian pakan sinbiotik

    Teak is the forest species with the highest economic value in Indonesia. It is especially important to many villages in Maluku Province.In order to manage for maximum profitability we need to first understand the pest species attacking this valuable tree species and to determine how much damage is caused. species were identified, and the intensity of pest attack determined.We identified two species acting as major pests;the lady bug , (Coccinella magnifica) and the snoutbeetle(Orchidophilus aterrimus ).The snout beetleand the lady bug were associated with severe damage on 64% and 56% respectively of the  trees sampled although the intensity of damage was low to mediumTeak is the forest species with the highest economic value in Indonesia.     This study aims to determine the optimal concentration of Bacillus licheniformis required in the formation of liquid sugar from cassava waste, the value of sugar and value starch contained in degraded cassava skin waste. The design used in this study was Completely Randomized Design (RAL) with 4 treatment concentration of cassava leaf extract (Manihot utilissima Pohl.), Ie 0 concentration, 1.5 ml concentration, 2.5 ml concentration and 3.5 ml of concentration B. licheneformis. Data were analyzed using analisis (ANOVA) followed by Duncan's range test (DMRT) with a 5% confidence level. The results of the study showed that all treatments had a significant effect on the administration of B. licheniformis concentrations. Treatment using 1.5 ml B. licheniformis concentration on cassava skin substrate weighing 1 gram after Duncan's test range (DMRT) with 5% confidence level resulted Reduction sugar value of 6.07%.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui konsentrasi  Bacillus licheniformis optimal yang dibutuhkan dalam penbentukan gula cair dari limbah singkong, nilai kadar gula serta  nilai amilum yang terkandung dalam limbah kulit singkong yang terdegradasi. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan konsentrasi ekstrak daun singkong (Manihot utilissima Pohl.), yaitu 0 konsentrasi, 1,5 ml konsentrasi, 2,5 ml konsentrasi dan 3,5 ml konsentrasiB. Licheneformis. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis (ANOVA) yang  dilanjutkan dengan uji duncan’s range test (DMRT) dengan taraf kepercayaan 5%. Hasil Penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa seluruh perlakuan pengaruh nyata terhadap pemberian konsentrasi B.licheniformis. Perlakuan dengan menggunakan konsentrasi 1,5 ml B. licheniformispada substrak kulit singkong seberat 1 gram setelah uji Duncan’s range test (DMRT) dengan taraf kepercayaan 5% menghasilkan nilai gula reduksi sebesar 6.07 %
