    Background : Water is an essential component of the environment for human survival. Provision of clean water should beable to fulfill the needs of the people because the limited of fresh water will ease the spread of various diseases in thecommunity, one of which is diarrhea. Diarrhea remains one of the important public health issue. In Manado diarrhealdisease is a disease that causes a potential Extraordinary Events from 2009-2012. This study aims to obtain an overviewof the water source and the incidence of diarrhea in the Tubir village Paal II district of Manado. Methods : This study is adescriptive study using survey method to get an overview of the water source and the incidence of diarrhea in the Tubirvillage Paal II district of Manado which held for 3 months since October 2012 – January 2013. Population of this study wasall head of families and the number of samples obtained by using the Lemeshow formula 1997 is 100 head of families whofulfilled the inclusion criteria. Result and Conclusion: The result of the study of the water source found that the watersource used for daily needs the most is the river (52%), followed by plumbing water (PAM) (23%), the walled well (22%),and the least is not walled well. In order to obtain the needs of drinking water the large sourced (41%) from water refill,following the wells (23%), plumbing water (PAM) (21%), and the least is the river water (15%). From the results obtained,it was concluded that the incidence of diarrhea found 100 respondents, there were (74%) of respondents claimedto experience defecated with liquid fecal consistency > 3 times daily (diarrhea), while (26%) respondents had defecated <3 times daily (not diarrhea).Keywords: water source, diarrhea, diarrhea incidenc

    The increasing problems as well as life expectancy become a problem that needs to be considered along number of elderly is consistently over time. Elderly Health is directed to maintain and improve the health and ability to remain productive; government efforts to organize health sports of elderly in health centers in order to improve the quality of life optimally. Therefore, the purpose of this study to determine how the challenges and obstacles of Eldery Sport Health programe in Community Health Centers of Manado City.This study using qualitative methods while the informants were the head of health centers and the holder of sport health programs incommunity Health Centers of Manado City.Data collection using in-depth interviews and observational methods. This research showed only founded in four community health centers which priority to implement it, while most of others not yet implemented due to some challenging and obstacles. The conclusion in the face of challenges, health centers must prepare trained personnel comply the aspects of quantity (amount) and quality (ability), provision of funds taken from operational health support if all activity must have the fullest, facilities and infrastructure are prepared to support the implementation of sport health programs; face of barriers, community healt center should socialize with the hope of can improve knowledge of the elderly and their families in the health sport benefits, and the cooperation with community organizations in the implementation of sport healt programs can be together.     Background: Universal Precautions are prevention acts that must be done by all of the health workers to prevent the infection spreading from the patients or vice versa. The purpose of this research is to measure the overview of the implementation of universal precaution in Kolongan Community Health Center. Method: The research method is surveillance descriptive research with total sampling method as the sample collecting method. Result: Accumulatively, there were (9.44%) of all the respondents do not always wash their hand appropriately according to the washing hands procedures and indications. For about (10.57%) do not always wear protective items either in cleaning up medical instruments or doing examination to patients. We found out that (13.33%) do not always decontaminate equipments and devices properly before and after using them. Nevertheless, all of the respondents agreed that there are proper needles and sharps disposals, and all of the respondents always dispose all needles and other sharps promptly to each of their disposals. Also, all of the respondents agreed that there are separated disposals for medical and non medical wastes, and all of the respondents always dispose the wastes properly to the separately disposals. Conclusion: in Kolongan Community Health Center, the overview of the implementation of universal precautions is good. Keywords: Universal Precautions, Infection, Kolongan Community Health Center

    Family Planning Program is one ofthe government's effortsin thesuppression ofthe populationinIndonesiathroughthe use ofcontraception. One typeof contraception thatattracted manyIndonesian people is contraceptive injection method. Data from Teling Atas Public Health Center also indicate that most widely family planning acceptors use contraceptive injection method. The objective of this research was to obtain the description of the knowledge and attitude of family planning acceptors on the use of injection method at Teling Atas Public Health Center Manado. This was a descriptive study using survey method. Samples taken were the family planning acceptors of injection methodwho visited the family planning clinic of Teling Atas Public Health Center during November-December 2012, which amounted to 50 people. The research instrument used was a questionnaire containing each 10 questions related to knowledge and attitude. Results showed that the knowledge offamily planning acceptorswere 54% goodand 46% less, andthe attitudeof family planning acceptorswere 82% goodand 18% less.Conclusion:Based on the results of this research, the knowledge and attitude of family planning acceptors on the use of injection method is mainly good.     Lung Tuberculocis is one of public health problems in the world especially in developing countries including Indonesia. According to a WHO report in 2007, an increase which is quite high which found as many as 9.27 milion new casus (139 per 100.000) and mortality rate of 19.7 per 100.000 population. WHO recommended DOTS strategy (Directly Observed Treatment Short-Course) for lung Tuberculocis cope with minimum recovery target of 85%. This study has done research aims to reveal the Lung Tuberkulocis patients who seek treatment at the health center using DOTS in Bahu Malalayang I period January to December 2012. This study used a retrospective descritptive method with a population of as many as 58 patients. The results of the study in patients with Lung Tuberculocis scorer with male gender (56.90%), the age group 25-49 years (44.22%), BTA Sputum (+) (93.10%) and approximately (91.38%), did not have a history of co-morbidities. Study patients with new cases around (91.38%) and result of patients who recovered (91.38%), and the recovery rate with BTA (+) (94.23%). as well as sputum smear conversion (94.23%).     Improvement in working in an industry is barely seperated with computers. The use of computer can cause health problems, and are classified as occupational disease. Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) is the form of occuler and non-occuler that occur after working with computer. According to survey in  America and England, 12.4% and 9% patient with CVS went to Hospital for an eye checked.2 Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is one of syndrome that affect hand and has the higher potential to reduce everyday activity.4 The risk of being affected by CTS are more likely 10% for an adult, female has higher potential of being affected by CTS for 3 times more than male.5 This research are meant to analyze CIMB Bank’s worker about the cause of using computer for their health. The design of this research is descriptive and qualitive. The total informan that works using computer are counted as 20 workers. According to the research’s result, not every workers understood the side effect of using computer during work can affect their eyes. The same problem was found on the informan about the effect on using computer for their hand, less than half of the informan has no clue about the cause of using computer for their health.     Clean and Healthy Behavior is a picture of the family life’s pattern that’s always caring and keeping the healthiness of the whole family members. Clean and Healthy Behavior should be applied as early as possible to make a positive behavior of the health’s upkeep. The application of CHB in North Sulawesi in 2004 was only around 17,95% and for Minahasa was 16,67%. Those numbers are still far behind the 65% that was targeted in 2010. One of CHB’s Indicators is the availability of latrine. Latrine is made for people feces’ disposal. The latrine usage is purposed to keep the clean and health environment. This research is aimed to discover the relation between the CHB of household and the latrine usage in Children Development Center ID-127 Ranomuut District, Manado City. This research is an analytic research and using cross sectional method. The location is taken in CDC ID-127 Ranomuut District, Manado City with 68 respondents consist of parents of children in age’s 3-5 in CDC. The research that is examined by using chi square test in SPSS program, shows no significant correlation between CHB and latrine usage (p=0,000) and a strong prove to receive the null hypothesis which is no correlation between CHB and latrine usage in CDC ID-127 Ranomuut District, Manado City.     Background: Indonesia’s target of clean water usage in 2015 is 68.9% and 63.5% for sanitation, based on the world government’s commitment in Johannesburg on Summit 2002. According to the research by Jimmy Woodcock in 2011, only 20% of Indonesia citizens are having access to the clean water. Method: This research is aimed to know the description of water usage on teenagers in Children Development Center ID-127, Ranomuut District, Manado City. This research is a quantitative research. The population is 90 respondents consist of 41 males and 49 females, where the samples are teenagers in age’s 11-15. The data are presented by using distribution tables. Result: The research shows that 46.7% of teenagers are using water company facilitation as their source for daily needs. About 65.6% are using water filter as their drinking water source and although the 34.4% are using other sources, the water were boiled.. Most of them use the physically qualified water such as no color, no taste, no smell, and only 18.9% having several health complaints after using the water. Conclusion: Raising the awareness of teenagers about the importance of clean water by health promotion and attention from the environment may help in providing the safe and clean water for teenagers.Keywords: community, dengue fever, Knowledge, Maen village

    Maintaining cleanliness external genital organs is an early effort maintaining reproductive health. If behavior of External genital organs hygiene is not good, can cause infections of the reproductive organs. In fact the knowledge and awareness of adolescent girls on reproductive health is very low. The research objective was to determine the behavior description of external genital organs hygiene grader X student of SMA Negeri 1 Kawangkoan. This study uses descriptive quantitative cross sectional approach. The research sample was 50 students taken by simple random sampling. Data retrieval is done by filling out the questionnaire and analysised with univariate analysis.   The majority of respondents knowledge fit in either category, that is 32 respondents (64%), while 18 respondents (36%) poor. Good attitude either (54%), and measures either (52%). They should improve hygiene behavior genital organs eksternal. Keywords: behavior, cleanliness external genital organ

    Eating habits are behaviors associated with food, one meal frequency, pattern of food eaten, food distribution within the family and how to choose food. Purpose of research was conducted with the aim of eating known picture of scenic urban residential communities allandrew Malalayang I environment XI Manado city. The method of this study include descriptive study using survey method. The population of the whole of society is taken Permai housing environment Allandrew XI aged 25-55 years and amount to as many as 480 people with a sample of 90 people, systematic sampling with a random sampling technique. The data obtained through interviews using a prepared questionnaire. The results obtained rice (55%) bread (38.9%), soybean (78.9%), tahu (97.8%), fish (55.6%), chicken meat (34.4%), pork (65.5%), vegetables (70%), fruits (28.9%), fried bananas (46%), Crepes (50%), malabar (47.8%), tea (52 , 2%), coffee (37%) and milk (18.9). The conclusion of this study concluded that frequent type of food consumed from the staple food is rice and bread, vegetable side dishes are tempeh and tofu, animal side dishes are fish, chicken and pork, vegetables, fruits, food additives such as fried banana, martabak and malabar, while drinks such as tea, coffee and milk.
