    Up to to this day, the way we operate the water faucet ( open and close it) are still the same as it used to be for hundred of years. Because the faucets are easily damaged if they are rotated frequently, especially if the faucets rotated vigorously, it will likely to fail. Manually filling the water reservoir will also leave people to always be vigilant in monitoring the water level. People often forget or ignored to turn off the faucet when the water in the sink was full, so what happens is that the water is flowing out of the sink and will indirectly result in wasted water and electricity. If this continues to happen, it can be considered less effective and less efficient. This tool makes it easy for people to carry out water filling activities in the bath so that it can increase the effectiveness and efficiency as well as comfort in carrying out such activities

    The objective of this study is to study the influence of anode-cathode displacement to corrosion potential distribution of reinforced concrete cathodic protection system. Reinforced concrete speciments with a length of 1000 mm, width of 100 mm, and a height of 100 mm were used. Three variations of anode-cathode displacement for the specimens were 5 mm, 10 mm, and 20 mm. Specimens were immersed in a solution of NaCl 3.5 % and treated by wet-dry cycle. Profometer 5 + was used to find the location of reinforcement without damaging the surface of the concrete. Half-cell potential digital meters was used to measure the corrosion potential value of steel reinforcement. The corrosion potential measurements after 12 weeks of wet-dry cycle shows that the most negative corrosion potential was obtained for 10 mm anode-cathode displacement, i.e-391 mV. While for 5 mm and 20 mm anode-cathode displacements were -374 mV and -378 mV. Therefore, the anode-cathode displacements might affect the distribution of corrosion potential on reinforced concrete cathodic protection system

    The function of solar collector is to increase the air that consist of absorber, air duct and glass cover. One of the factors that affect the collector output temperature increased is depend on high temperature absorber. An absorber serves to absorb heat from the sun, and heats flowing air in the air duct above the absorber. The heating of the air pass/route is greatly influenced by the flow patterns inside the collector. In this study the authors examined the use of variations absorber on solar collector. There were four variations of The absorber; iron sand, gram iron sand, asphalt hotmix, and iron sand asphalt. The research method is intended to determine the value of heat transfer by radiation, conduction and convection. Dimension of solar collector was used 300 cm x 80 cm. The best variation of absorber was gram iron sand type at the most optimum intensity of sun at 12 a.m-2 p.m

    This paper discusses the stress analysis of marine boil off gas pipe elbow. The piping system receives several loading conditions such as expansion load, occasional load, operation load, and sustain load, which are referred to as static loading conditions. As a result of the load conditions can be known stress distribution and examine the strength of the weld connection on the pipe elbow. The purpose of this research is to know the distribution of stress at the elbow of the pipe due to static loading conditions. The method used in this study using finite element analysis. The result of stress simulation in pipe elbow is 771 Pa and the result of calculation of stress in pipe elbow is 3,94 Pa. The result of piping system simulation shows the value of the pipe elbow e due to the load operation of 23151,34 kPa, the sustain load is 24918,91 kPa, the occasional load is 59110,83 and the expansion load does not produce the stress value. From the results of the analysis, the stress due to operating, sustain, and expansion loads are categorized as safe because they do not exceed the allowable stress values of each loading condition

    The boat propellers are needed for fishing boats in Aceh Province, considering that most Acehnese people geographically live along the coastline. Their income apart from farmers is fishermen. Currently, the metal ship propellers are imported from outside Aceh Province, so metal casting technology is needed to produce these ship propellers. There is already a small-scale industrial for metal casting, and the location is in Baet Lampuot - Aceh Besar District. The metal casting industry is currently producing rencong souvenirs to support tourism. However, when the Covid-19 Pandemic hit Aceh in particular and Indonesia in general, there are needed an alternative metal production business with other types of product variants, one of which was a ship cast-propeller. Based on this, Mechanical Engineering and FKIP Physics Department of Universitas Syiah Kuala improve the rencong metal casting industry to develop its products, to produce ship propellers through the Higher Education Leading Community Empowerment Program (PPMUPT) funded by the Ministry of Research and Technology /National Research and Innovation Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (RISTEK/ BRIN). The ship propeller product developed from waste metal, it recycled through metal casting technology. So the program and technology developed, is very useful not only for growing the regional economy but also in terms of handling the environment by recycling waste metal. Therefore, the community service program carried out by Mechanical Engineering and FKIP Physics Department of Universitas Syiah Kuala is right on target and in line with expectations

    Wudu is a routine activity carried out by Muslims before performing the prayer, and mosques are the most frequently visited places for performing prayers. A mosque is a social facility of a city or region. The comfort of a mosque is an important factor in seeing the comfort of a city or region. The wudu facility is the main facility in a mosque that needs attention, an ergonomic wudu facility will provide comfort for visitors. The city of Banda Aceh, as the capital of Aceh province, holds the status of an Islamic Sharia region, it is important to provide social facilities such as a mosque that provide a sense of comfort for its residents and visitors. The wudu facility from mosques in the city of Banda Aceh is relevant to be researched and discussed to see the level of comfort. From 20 samples of mosques in Banda Aceh City that has observed, it was found that in general the mosques in the city of Banda Aceh do not yet have wudu facility that meet design standards in accordance with the ergonomic concept. There are only 2 mosques (10%) found where wudu facility meets the standard ergonomic design, and even then, it is only for the standing position of wudu facility. In general, the dimensions of the wudu facility that meet the ergonomic design standards are the height of the faucets from the floor, while the distance between the faucets and the distance between the faucets and the standing / sitting position does not meet the standard. This is a note for the Banda Aceh City Government to pay more attention to the services of social facilities in its region, so that improvements can be made in the future

    Optimasi Bentuk Hip Stem Prosthesis untuk Kondisi Heel Strike dan Flat Foot dengan Menggunakan Topology Optimization Berbasis Metode Elemen Hingga

    The objective of this research is to analyze the results of the topology optimization model Hip Stem Prosthesis in heel strike and flat foot conditions. The simulation is done using software based on finite element method ANSYS Release 18.0. Analysis of heel strike and flat foot conditions was carried out on the design of the artificial pelvic bone AML (Anatomical Modullary Locking) model. The ball head diameter used in this research was 38 mm and stem length was 140 mm. The analysis is done by optimizing the hip stem prosthesis step by step according to the condition when walking. Loading is given to the hip stem prosthesis during heel strike and flat foot with a time history of 0,01 seconds and 0,2 seconds starting from the initial position of heel strike and ending with the flat foot position. The simulation results show that the stress distribution is evenly distributed and the size of the volume of the design region varies

    Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) is a method used by designers and engineers to design a product with a smaller number of components. The goal is to facilitate the manufacturing and assembly processes so as to reduce production time and costs. This article discusses the use of the DFMA method to redesign hand juicer product by changing the raw material from stainless steel to polypropylene plastic to make the product lighter, more practical and easier to clean. DFMA analysis on the redesign of hand juicer products shows a reduction in the number of product components from 6 components to 2 components. In addition, production time was reduced from 135 seconds to 120 seconds, while production costs were reduced from IDR166,000 to IDR56,200
