味蕾における情報変換機序
application/pdfRecent progress of physiological studies on the transduction mechanism of taste was briefly reviewed. The transduction mechanism of taste has been rapidly elucidated by patch-clamp studies, which make it possible to reveal the role of ion channels of taste cell membrane in generating receptor potentials. Recent electrophysiological studies including patch-clamp studies indicate that salty taste is transduced by an influx of Na ions through amiloride-sensitive Na channels in the apical membrane of taste cells and bitter and sour tastes by closure of K channels. Sweet taste and the taste of amino acids may be transduced via intracellular second messengers as cAMP, IP_3 or Ca ions.journal articl
平成2年における冠・架工義歯に関する統計的観察 : その2 架工義歯について
application/pdfA study was made of 194 bridges which had been fabricated for patients at the Prosthodontic Clinic of Matsumoto Dental College during 1990. Some of results were as follows; 1) 44.8% of the patients were males and 55.2% were females. 2) 89.2% of the patients were between 20 and 69 years old. 3) 68.6% of the bridges were fabricated as 3-unit bridges. 4) 80.4% were fabricated as 1-pontic bridges. 5) There were fewer bridge retainers for the lower anterior segment than for other segments. 6) 44.5% of bridge retainers were fabricated as full cast crowns. 7) 47.1% were fabricated for non vital teeth. 8) Of pontics, 25.4% were replaced for the upper incisor segment.journal articl
上顎左側側切歯および上顎両側犬歯の埋伏とともに下顎前歯部に強度の叢生をともなった症例
application/pdfWe recently treated a patient with impaction of the upper left lateral incisor and the upper bilateral canines, accompanied by marked crowding of the lower anterior teeth. Considering the direction of eruption and the morphological abnormalities of teeth, we extracted the upper left lateral incisor and the upper right canine. The upper left canine was preserved because we considered it possible to guide this tooth into right position. The lower canines were also extracted because this case required a high maximum anchorage. In this way, good occlusion was achieved. Although the retention period has elapsed, we will continue to watch this case carefully, including observation of the occlusal relationship.journal articl
動的治療後,咬合の安定をみたhigh angle caseの一治験例
application/pdfHigh angle case is said to be unstable in retention if mandibular plane is opened during treatment. Molars have a tendency to overerupt easily and growth direction will be changed to downward creating longer vertical dimension. Therefore, mandibular opening is a major concern for this kind of facial pattern. This present case shows high mandibular plane and long anterior vertical height, with a more prominent chin than that of a female of the same age. Four first premolars were extracted to correct crowding and control vertical dimension. Results show good stable occlusion and nice esthetic profile. Normal orofacial functions have been maintained during the four years retention period. Vertical dimension control is suggested to be a critical point to achieve a stable condition for high angle case in orthodontic treatment.journal articl
Hypercementosisの1症例
application/pdfIn this paper, a case of hypercementosis occurring in the maxillary left second molar of a 40-year-old Japanese man is reported. The tooth didn't participate in occlusion, and seemed to be involved in an apical periodontitis. Histopathologically the hyperplastic cementum consisted of cellular cementum, and cement lamellae were quite obvious. Concerning causes of this disease, though there are many factors to promote the deposition of excessive amounts of cementum, inflammation of periodontal tissue may have a close correlation to cementum hyperplasia in the present case.journal articl
長野県佐久地方における小児の顔面,頭部,歯の外傷についての実態調査
application/pdfActual state of trauma on the face and head was studied using 694 kindergarten and nursery school children ages ranging from 3 to 5 years in Saku, Nagano Prefecture, and the conclusion was as follows: 1. 46% The children experienced trauma on the face and head and 7% those included injury of trauma on the deciduous tooth. 2. Compared with past reports, root fracture caused by falling was noted at a high frequency, with injury while having something in mouth at 12.4%. It was highly noted that mucosa of maxilla was injured while a toy or a toothbrush was kept in mouth. 3. As for trauma of the tooth, crown fracture and root fracture including exposed pulp were noted at 48.9%, which was higher in frequency than that of dislocations at 35.8%. 4. Injuries frequently caused while keeping a toothbrush in the mouth were considered to be due to the health guidance given by the dental practicians to establish a custom of brushing teeth, telling parents, "let your child have a toothbrush as a toy".journal articl
An Opinion Survey of the Dental Curriculum at Matsumoto Dental College
application/pdfRecent dental curriculum consists of two columus, that is, basic science and clinical science in Japan. However, we regard current dental curriculum as important to comprise cultural sciences, social sciences and natural sciences under the present condition, such as the rapid development of science technology, the progress of dental health care quality, and the directivity of the community medical health care. We regard current dental curriculum as necessary to reform and fill up to satisfy the new academic development and social demand. Therefore we made this opinion survey for the purpose to make characteristic to examine dental surriculum. (The object and method of the survey) We selected 637 dental students in M.D.C. from the first grade to the sixth grade when students in finished clinical practice. Of 532 male students and 105 female students, opinion survey on dental curriculum was made. (Result) 1. As for the occupation of dental students' parents, it is notified that "medical doctor" rank first (29.2%) and "dental doctor" rank second (24.2%) and together they form 53 percent of the total, and "Company executives" rank third, and "self-employed" rank fourth. Howerver "Office worker" form 7.4 percent of the total and "Government worker" form 4.2 percent. 2. As for the motivation to become a dental doctor, it is notified that "advice of parent" and "stabilization of livelihood" form about 70 percent of the total at the point of admission. After admission to school, "stabilization of livelihood" and "too much payment of school expenses" have a majority. 3. As for ideal dental doctor to be desired, it is notified that "dental doctor to be kind to the patients" rank first, and "dental doctor who has excellent technique" rank second. 4. As for cultural sciences in liberal arts, it is notified that the higher the school year, the higher the percentage of the students who regard cultural sciences as necessary and important. 5. As for linguistics, it is notified that about 90 percent of the students regard English as most necessary, and about 50 percent of the students regard German as necessary. 6. As for natural sciences, it is notified that the ratio of the students who deny to regard "mathematics" and "physics" as necessary is high and the ratio of the students who regard "chemistry" and "biology" as necessary is high.journal articl
カエル水受容器におけるカルシウムとキナクリンの拮抗
application/pdfQuinacrine has been shown to inhibit reversibly Ca response of the frog (Nomura, 1975). In order to reveal whether the mechanism of the inhibition by quinacrine is a competition between calcium ions and quinacrine to receptor sites, Ca responses to various calcium concentrations with or without 10 μM or 100 μM quinacrine-HCl were examined using single fungiform papilla preparations dissected from the frog tongue. Response-concentration curve shifted to the right when quinacrine was added to the solutions. This indicates that qunacrine inhibits the Ca response by competing with calcium ions to receptor sites.journal articl
