Drug therapy for malignant melanoma: current status and future prospects

Get PDF本論文は1930年代の堤防労働の構造的問題を明らかにするため，フーヴァー政権とローズベルト政権を比較検討する。ミシシッピ川下流の連邦治水事業は，失業対策と被災地復興の両面から着手された。だが，その実態は黒人作業員に対する長時間労働と賃金未払い，暴力と差別であった。NAACPとAFLの待遇改善交渉は，黒人作業員の労働時間と日当を改善した。その一方，陸軍工兵司令部は黒人作業員を分断する労働慣行を維持し，差別撤廃運動の拡大を阻止した。This paper compares the Hoover and Roosevelt administrations in order to clarify the structural problems of levee work in the 1930s. Federal flood control projects on the lower Mississippi River were undertaken with the dual purposes of an unemployment policy and disaster recovery. However, the working condition was long working hours, unpaid wages, violence and racial discrimination against black people. Negotiations by the NAACP and AFL for enhance the working conditions improved working hours and daily wages for black workers. Meanwhile, the Army Corps of Engineers maintained labor practices that divided black workers, preventing the expansion of the anti-discrimination movement.departmental bulletin pape
Radical resection for pleomorphic liposarcoma of preperitoneal fat origin: a case report
Get PDFIntroduction: Liposarcomas are frequently occurring tumors that account for 20% of malignant soft tissue tumors. They frequently occur in the thigh, popliteal region, buttocks, retroperitoneum, and other areas, with very rare cases of tumors originating from the preperitoneal fat. The World Health Organization (WHO) has classified liposarcoma by their histological types as well-differentiated, myxoid, round cell, pleomorphic, and dedifferentiated. The pleomorphic type is relatively rare and is associated with poor outcomes. Here, we report a very rare case of a pleomorphic liposarcoma originating from the preperitoneal fat.
Presentation of Case: A 48-year-old man was admitted to our hospital with a left abdominal mass. Contrastenhanced computed tomography of the abdomen revealed a mosaically enhanced tumor, 7 cm in diameter, between the dorsal side of the left rectus abdominis muscle and the ventral side of the inferior epigastric artery and vein. The tumor was surgically removed. Histopathological examination revealed a pleomorphic liposarcoma originating from the preperitoneal fat.
Discussion: Liposarcomas frequently occur in the thigh, popliteal region, buttocks region, retroperitoneum, and other areas. Reports of pleomorphic liposarcomas originating from the preperitoneal fat are very rare. In this case, the patient remains alive without tumor recurrence 5 years after the surgery because of the complete tumor resection. Conclusion: For tumors originating from the preperitoneal fat, surgical removal needs to be considered if there is a possibility of the lesion being a liposarcoma, as in this case.departmental bulletin pape

人工的に生成された風速変動の特性
Get PDFThe current study designed and fabricated multi-fin active wind variation devices (WVDs) and evaluated their wind speed characteristics with the long term aim of reproducing atmospheric flow in a lab environment. Two WVDs designed for the study are: (1) upwind WVD which consists of 24 square and triangular fins and is installed upwind from the test section and (2) downwind WVD which consists of 3 rectangular fins and is installed downwind from the test section. Experiments are conducted for several combinations of rotational speed and rotational angle and the amplitude of wind speed variation (uA) which is the difference between minimum and maximum wind speeds for each cycle is used to describe the characteristic of the WVDs. For the upwind WVD, values of uA decrease significantly with downstream distance. uA is large for larger rotational angle, but the effect of rotational speed is not very significant. For the downwind WVD, magnitude of uA uA does not vary significantly with streamwise location and maintains strong correlation with the cyclic motion of the ATG fins.departmental bulletin pape
