Cultivation of edible mushrooms with spent coffee grounds and utilization of its spent mushroom substrate as compost
Get PDFSpent coffee ground is the industrial residue yielded during the brewing process of coffee. Spent mushroom substrate is the agricultural residue obtained after harvesting mushrooms from the substrates. In the view of environmental protection, waste management of these agro-industrial residues is major issue both domestically and globally. Our final goal is to develop a resource-recycling agriculture using spent mushroom substrate obtained after harvesting mushrooms cultivated on substrates including spent coffee ground. In this study, we confirmed that oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) and enoki mushroom (Flammulina veltipes) could be cultivated on a coffee-substrate, which is a mixture of spent coffee ground and rice bran. Furthermore, it was found that spent mushroom substrate derived from coffee-substrates was available for the cultivation of maize. These results would be helpful for developing the resource-recycling agriculture not only in Japan but also other counties.departmental bulletin pape

人的資本経営に関する一考察 ― Cranet Surveyに基づく6ヵ国の比較研究 ―

Fabrication and performance test of the closed return wind tunnel
Get PDFTo visualize the flow field around solar car models and to measure drag, a small closed-loop visualization wind tunnel was constructed. This report describes the results of investigating the basic performance of the wind tunnel through velocity distribution measurements and drag measurements. The results of the experiment are as follows. As a result of the velocity distribution measurement in the wind tunnel, a flow field with an average velocity of 15 m/s was obtained. The two-dimensional velocity distribution was uniform. The results of the drag measurement on the circular cylinder were close to the known values.departmental bulletin pape

R&D Network Analysis Based on Joint Applications in Lithium-ion rechargeble Batteries
Get PDFWe analyzed the network structure surrounding an R&D project to explore external factors that contribute to the success or failure of a company’s R&D project. In considering the network structure, we considered a small-world network. The reason for this is that the small-world network is characterized by the following three points:
1. The density of strings (chute) (which corresponds to the linear part of the network) is low.
2. The average path length (the length of the shortest path between two possible points on the network = the average number of steps) is short.
3. The connection between points is not complete. The three points can be summarized as follows.

A Study on Relationship between Modern Technology and Society/Environment
Get PDFIn this paper, I have analyzed the relationship between technology and society primarily from the perspective of modernization. What can be pointed out here is that, first of all, under the influence of the purposefulness of utility and efficiency that modern society has placed emphasis on, there has been a strong tendency for technology to be positioned and valued as a means of creating useful things. This idea of usefulness led to the idea that nature was also “useful" to humans, leading to environmental destruction. Ethics such as technological ethics and environmental ethics are necessary to overcome these challenges. Environmental ethics is especially important for changing the perspective that prioritizes humans. It is also important to reduce dependence on the systems created by modern times and to take a self-governing attitude that involves oneself as a stakeholder in society. To this end, it is necessary to use technology of an appropriate scale. If the problems caused by technology do not lie with the technology, but with humans and society, who have to figure out how to utilize it, in the transition from modern to post-modern, we are facing a post-modern world that is different from the modern era.
