孟宗竹(Phyllostachys heterocycle f. pubescens)の香気成分とその生理活性について
There are various types of bamboo. This time, we considered the use of phyllostachys edulis that was cut down at the foot of the mountain. Bamboo powder (phyllostachys edulis) steam was distilled and the fraction was solvent fractionated. The whitening effect test was conducted for each fraction. As a result, in the tyrosinase activity inhibition test (Between Tyrosine and Dopa), it was confirmed that the hexane extract part had activity. In addition, for the oxidative stress protection test (d-ROM test), it was possible to clarify that the steamdistillate itself has antioxidant power.departmental bulletin pape
A case of surgical repair of greater sciatic hernia
症例は88歳,女性.左大腿骨頸部骨折に対して,当院で観血的整復固定術を施行された.術後16日目に肺炎を疑われ撮影されたCTで,右大坐骨孔ヘルニアを指摘され当科へ紹介となった.腹部骨盤造影CTでは右大坐骨孔をヘルニア門として小腸が脱出するヘルニアを認めた.腸管壁の造影効果は良好であり血流障害を認めず,その口側の腸管拡張も認めなかった.治療の緊急性がないと判断し,待機的にヘルニア修復術を施行する方針とした.腹腔鏡で病変部を確認し,併存ヘルニアが無いことを確認し,修復術は開腹操作で行った.術中所見として,15mm大の大坐骨孔をヘルニア門とする小腸の脱出を認めた.ヘルニア嚢を腹腔内へ翻転させ,ヘルニア門を縫縮した.術後経過は良好であり,術後9日目に軽快退院となった.坐骨孔ヘルニアは,坐骨孔をヘルニア門とした非常に稀な疾患であり,文献的考察を加えて報告する.departmental bulletin pape
For Better "Visibility" of Sign Language Online - Analysis Based on Questionnaire Survey and Color Universal Design -
新型コロナウイルス感染症拡大をきっかけに、ZOOMなどのビデオ通話アプリを利用する機会が急増した。手話でコミュニケーションをする聴覚障害者にとっても、これらのアプリは大変便利であるが、手話話者の服と背景の色の組み合わせによっては、手話が読み取りにくくなることがある。そこで、本研究では、オンライン上で手話会話を行うときに、より多くの人が手話を読み取りやすいと感じられる手話話者の服と背景の色の組み合わせを知るために、オンラインアンケート調査を行い、カラーユニバーサルデザインの観点から考察を行った。和歌山県北部の手話関連団体と聴覚障害者協会の協力を得てアンケートを実施し、計32名(聴覚障害者13名〈うち2名は色弱者〉、聴者19名)から回答を得ることができた。その結果、一般色覚者が最も見やすいと回答した黒い服と青い背景の組み合わせは,色弱者にとっては全36パターン中14番目の見やすさであった。一方、色弱者が最も見やすいと回答した赤い服と青い背景の組み合わせは、一般色覚者にとっては全36パターン中18番目であった。色覚特性に関わらず見やすいと評価された組み合わせは,青い服と灰色の背景、黒い服と灰色の背景であった。手話の見え方は、色や光などの複数の視環境要素によって左右されるが、情報保障という点からも、できるだけ多くの人にとって手話が適切に見える環境作りが必要不可欠である。The spread of the new coronavirus infection has triggered a rapid increase in the use of video-conference applications such as ZOOM. Although these apps are very convenient for the Deaf who communicate in sign language, some color combinations of the signer's clothing and the background could make sign language difficult to read. Therefore, in this research, an online questionnaire survey was conducted to find out which color combinations of the signers' clothing and the background made it easier to read sign language online, and the results were discussed from the viewpoint of color universal design. The questionnaire was conducted with the cooperation of sign language-related groups or organizations in northern Wakayama Prefecture and the Wakayama Association of the Deaf. 32 people (13 deaf people [2 of whom were colorblind] and 19 hearing people) answered the questionnaire. As a result, the combination of black clothing and a blue background, which was the easiest for non-colorblind people to see, was the 14th easiest for colorblind people out of a total of 36 patterns. On the other hand, the combination of red clothing and a blue background, which the colorblind responded as the easiest, was the 18th easiest out of the 36 patterns for the non-colorblind respondents. The combinations rated as easiest to see regardless of color vision characteristics were blue clothing and a gray background, and black clothing and a gray background. Although the visibility of sign language is affected by multiple visual environment factors such as color and light, it is essential to create an environment in which as many people as possible can see sign language easily from the viewpoint of information assurance.departmental bulletin pape
Small differences between primary and breeding sex ratios at the largest loggerhead turtle rookery in the North Pacific
Elucidating how sex ratio changes as a cohort ages may aid with understanding the relative recruitment of male and female adults to a population. In sea turtles, sex is determined by the incubation temperature, with males and females produced at low and high temperatures, respectively. At rookeries exposed to high incubation temperatures, the primary sex ratios are thus skewed toward females. However, because very high incubation temperatures also negatively affect the survival-related traits of female hatchlings, the female bias may be mitigated as the cohort matures and the adult sex ratio may be more male-biased than primary sex ratios. Here, we examined whether sex ratio changes from hatchlings to breeding adults at Yakushima Island, Japan, the largest loggerhead turtle Caretta caretta rookery in the North Pacific, which is not exposed to high incubation temperatures. The mean (±SD) primary sex ratio (% female) during 1975–2022, estimated from incubation durations linked to sand temperatures, were 24.7 ± 13.6%. Based on genotype data at three microsatellite loci from 26 females and their 291 offspring sampled in 2020 and 2021, we detected multiple paternity in five clutches (19.2%) and estimated 34 unique sires, which provided a breeding sex ratio (% female) of 43.3%. Small differences between primary and breeding sex ratios suggest similar survival rates for male and female offspring. This rookery is unusual in that it has male biased hatchling production, whereas most sea turtle rookeries have female biased hatchling production. The Yakushima rookery is likely resilient to climate warming.journal articl
