Development of Bactericidal Photocatalytic Paints for Clean Interiors and Its Environmental Education (II)
論文Photocatalytic paints for “clean interiors” have been developed to reduce the risk of infection in rooms. Six colors of photocatalytic paints were prepared using TiO₂, Fe₂O₃, and WO₃, and their photocatalytic bactericidal effects were evaluated under visible-light or ultraviolet-light irradiation. “A coloring workshop and lecture” for high school students was successfully held as a part of environmental education initiative.departmental bulletin pape
A fundamental study on the converting temporary housing to permanent residences after Nankai Trough Earthquake - A comparative study of Kochi City and Kami City -
論文Kumamoto Prefecture’s approach to timber temporary housing was distinctive. Unlike traditional timber pile foundations, reinforced concrete foundations were utilized, which were subsequently repurposed as permanent housing, thereby challenging the conventional definition of “temporary” housing. Some of the timber temporary houses were converted into permanent residences, while others were demolished. Previous research indicates that the original land use of the site is a critical factor in determining the feasibility of conversion. This study aims to identify suitable sites for converting timber temporary housing into permanent structures following a large-scale disaster and to simulate the layout of these housing units to enhance disaster preparedness.departmental bulletin pape

Studies on Carrier Transport Properties by Impedance Spectroscopy in Organic Thin-Film Solar Cells Using p-Type Semiconductor PM6
Organic thin-film solar cells (OSCs) are regarded as promising candidates for nextgeneration photovoltaic devices. However, the active layer of OSCs typically consists of a bulk heterojunction (BHJ) structure composed of p-type and n-type semiconductors, in which multiple processes—such as exciton diffusion, charge separation, carrier recombination, and carrier transport in both p-type and n-type materials—occur concurrently during photoelectric conversion. Due to these complex, multi-step mechanisms, it is extremely challenging to elucidate the detailed photovoltaic processes in OSCs. In this study, impedance spectroscopy was considered a useful technique for evaluating the charge transport properties of OSCs. Specifically, OSCs were fabricated using PM6, which has recently attracted attention as a high-performance p-type semiconductor material, in combination with either PCBM, a conventional n-type material, or Y6, a non-fullerene acceptor that has gained increasing attention in recent years. The photovoltaic performance of these devices was evaluated, and their built-in potential and charge transport characteristics were analyzed using impedance spectroscopy.論文:Paperdepartmental bulletin pape
The Disasters that Changed America, The Great Mississippi River Flood―Racial Discrimination, Economic Crisis and Migration―
This paper examines the impact of the 1927 Mississippi River Flood from the perspectives of racial discrimination, economic crisis, and great migration. The great disaster exacerbated racial discrimination in the affected areas, but at the same time, through the newspaper’s disaster reporting, it increased the political influence of black people. Furthermore, the economic damage caused by the disaster had a significant impact not only on the affected areas but also on financial capital in the North. As a result, America sought to shift from laissez-faire to large-scale government intervention. Furthermore, the flood prompted black people in the South to migrate to the North, spreading racial discrimination throughout the United States.departmental bulletin pape
