Populasi dan Aktivitas Mikroorganisme Rhizosfer Kedelai pada Entisol Akibat Pemberian Bahan Organik dan Pupuk Hayati
The Microorganism Population and Activity in the Rhizosphere of Soybean on Entisol caused by Some Organic Matter and BiofertilizerABSTRACT. The entisol productivity can be increased by using the organic matter as the organic fertilizer for example the waste oil palm (especially the empty fruit bunches of the oil palm) and the manure. Beside this, the Entisol productivity can be increased with used the biofertilizer for example Rhiphosant. Using the organic fertilizer and the biofertilizer also effect the microorganism population and activity in the rhizosphere. The objective of this research as to evaluate the microbial population and activity in the rhizosphere of the soybean as affected the organic matter and the biofertilizer on Entisol. This research was set up according to Factorial Randomized Block Design, there were the organic matter and the biofertilizer. Kind of the organic matter no the organic matter. the was oil palm, the manure, and the was oil palm + manures. Kind of the biofertilizer were without the biofertilizer and with the. There were 8 trial combinations with 3 replications so there were 24 experimental units. The parameters observed were the microorganism population and activity at 45 Days After Planting (DAP); The population of the total microorganism, bacteria, fungi, phosphate solubilizing microorganisms, rhizobium, and microorganism activity. Result of this study show that the first and the second factor were not significant to all parameters. Interaction between the organic matter with the biofertilizer only effected significantly to the fungi population

The Influence of NAA, 2-4-D and Lightness on Callus Development of Nilam Leaf (Pogostemon cablin Benth.) Tissue CultureABSTRACT. The research about the influence of NAA, 2-4-D and lightness on callus development of nilams leaf (Pogostemon cablin Benth.) Tissue culture had been done in cell and Molecular Biology Laboratory, Science Faculty of Syiah Kuala University, Darussalam, Banda Aceh since April to October 2006. This research using factorial experimental design with three factor (kind of auxin, auxin concentration and lightness). The result showed that kinds of auxin had not had any significant influence to callus development, but lightness and auxin concentration influence the callus development. Darkness treatment and the rise of auxin concentration increased to callus development
Pembuatan CMC (Carboximethyl Cellulose) dari Sellulosa Bakterial (Nata de Coco)
Production of CMC (Carboximethyl Cellulose) from Bacterial Cellulose (Nata de Coco)ABSTRACT. Bacterial cellulose (nata de coco) has been used as source of cellulose in CMC (Carboximethyl Cellulose) production. This research has been conducted to study the optimum formulation of CMC production from nata de coco. Factorial Randomized Completely Design was employed with two factors that were concentration of NaOH (10%, 15%, and 20%) and amount of NaMCA (10g, 3g and 16g). The result showed that concentration of NaOH and amount NaMCA significantly affected moisture content, degree of eterification (DE), yield, and viscosity. The combination of NaMCA at 16 g and NaOH at 15% produced the best treatment with characteristics: 10,12% of moisture content, 0,9 of degree of eterifiication, 40,40% of yield and 25,41 of viscosity
Preferensi Oviposisi Papilio demoleus L. (Lepidoptera: Papilionidae) pada Tiga Jenis Tanaman Jeruk (Citrus spp.)
The Ovoposition Preference of Papilio demoleus L. (Lepidoptera: Papilionidae) on the Species of Citrus (Citrus spp.)ABSTRACT. This research about the oviposition preference of Papilio demoleus Linnaeus on three species of citrus (Citrus spp.) has been done in butterflies encagement in FMIPA Syiah Kuala University Darussalam, Banda Aceh from April to July 2003. This research used experimental method by completely randomized design with three treatment and four replication. The treatment are jeruk siem (Citrus nobilis Lour), jeruk kasturi (Citrus milis Blanco), and jeruk nipis (Citrus aurantifolia Swingle). The observation was held from 8 oclock until 16 oclock for the number of eggs laying to each species of citrus. The result shown that the number of eggs laying indicate no significant on all species of citrus and between the number of eggs laying on the stem and another part around the host plant. A number of eggs laying under the surface of the leaves are more and significant from a number of eggs laying on the surface of the leaves. The eggs laying activity of P. demoleus started from 10 in the morning when the surrounding physical factor has supported for the butterflies to lay done its eggs. Activity get the point of culmination when observed at 12 oclock
Analisis Pertumbuhan Jagung akibat Pemberian Gambut dan Pemupukan Fosfat pada Tanah Mineral Masam Podzolik (Ultisol)
Corn Growth Analysis with Peat Application and Posfat Fertilization on Mineral Acid Podzolik Soil (Ultisol)ABSTRACT. The experiment to improve mineral acid soil productivity in Aceh that is potential to plantation. This experiment was conducted during the month of February until Mei 2006. It studied the effect of peat application, phosphate fertilization and the effect of the interaction. They were consist of sixteen combination of treatment with fourty eight plots. The experimental design was in randomized completely block design, there were two factors treatment. e.i. four level of peat namely; no pead, 10 ton, 20 ton, and 30 ton ha-1. The result shows that in general the application of peat and phosphate fertilization with different level were able to improve significantly the corn growth e.i.: crop growth rate, relative growth rate, net assimilation rate, and leaf area biomassa ratio, but they interaction were not significantly on 4 8 weeks periode. The interaction were significantly on 8 weeks to harvest periode however the two single factor show nonsignificantly. The interaction between pead application of 2 ton ha-1 and 100 ton ha-1 posfat fertilization gave a better result
Daya Saing Tanaman Kedelai Hasil Desikasi Herbisisda Paraquat dan Glifosat Terhadap Cekaman Gulma
The Competitive of Soybean Used as Dessicant with Paraquat and Glifosat Herbicide on Stress of WeedsABSTRACT. Herbicide might be use for desicant to increase soybean seed quality at rainy season, however not all herbicide can be used as dessicant. Seed with a better quality will growth faster than weed will, they will form leafy coronet that shaded the weed and be able to compete against to the weed. The experiment was conducted during rainy season at PT Syngeta-Cikampek, West Java, started from November 2003 to March 2004. This experiment that was the second experiment was arranged in two-factor randomized block design with two replications. The first factor was the 21 seeds generated from dessicacy test in experiment 1; the second factor was the invasion status of weed that consist of weed invated and weed free. The observed responses includes the weeds characteristics that consist of dominant value ratio and the soybeans response that consist of the height of the plant, the length of the root, the weight of 100 seed. The data was analyzed by Percentage Change Test, Least Significant Increase (LSI) Test, Stres Tolerant Index (STI) Test and continued by Directed STI, The result shows that the seed generated from paraquat herbicide dessicacy at dose of 0.4 kg a.a ha-1 applicated at R2 are more superior than other seed treated by any oyher treatment

Growth Response of Soybean with Mycorrizal Inoculation at Critical Condition of Aluminium and Draying DoubleABSTRACT. High level of aluminium in acid soil can restrict nutrient and water. Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF) have been shown to decrease plant yield losses in acid soil. The objective of this study was to examine the growth responses of green house-grown soy bean colonization by AMF. The experiment was conducted at Cikabayan experimental of Bogor Agricultural University from August 2003 to February 2004. Six genotypes soy bean that result of root bioassay treated by Al by saturated (Al 25 %, Al 50 %, and Al 75 %), field capacity (80 % and 40 % FC) and Inoculated by mycorrhizae (without AMF and by AMF). Root and shoot dry matter were higher in mycorrhizal than in non mycorrhizal plants

Recommendation of Potassium Fertilizer Site Specific for Rice PlantABSTRACT. Fertilizer use efficiency is changing greatly depending on soil properties, fertilizer type, irrigation and level of intensive cultivation. A site specific potassium (K) experiment was conducted to formulate the fertilizer recommendation of K for rice plant in different K soil status. The objective of this research were to select a proper soil test method, classify the soil test value of K into two or more classes and fertilizer recommendation of K to rice plant. In this study it was found that the method of NH4OAc 1N pH 7 was the best technique for soil analysis. Based on the method, there are 3 available classes of K i.e. low, medium, and high. The soil with the highest availability of K does not require fertilizing with K, because it has been fulfilled by the water irrigation and straw. The fertilizer recommendation of K for rice plant at medium class is less than low class
Pengaruh Berbagai Jenis Bokasi dan Dosis Terhadap Perubahan Status Hara Makro (N, P dan K) Tanah Salin dan Pertumbuhan Tanaman Jagung (Zea mays L)
Effect of various Types of Bokasi and Dosages on the Change of Macro Nutrient (N, P and K) on Saline Soil and the Grewth of Maize (Zea mays L)ABSTRACT. The research was aimed to find out the effect of various types of bokasi and dosages on the change of macro nutrient (N, P and K) on saline soil and the growth of maize. The research method was a randomized complete block design factorial, consist of two factors. First factor was types of bokasi made from some organic matters decomposited using EM4 I,e. paddy hay, sawdust, and gamal. Second factor wa dosage I.e. 10 ton ha-1, 15 ton ha-1 and 20 ton ha-1. The experiment had three replications so that there were 27 experiment units. Observed variables were chemical soil properties (pH H2O, N total, P available, and K exchangeable at 60 days after incubation), plant growth (plant height at 30 and 60 days after planting, dry weight on top of plant and dry weight on the root at 60 days after planting. The result showed that application of various types of bokasi and dosage gave significant effect on al variable observed. Bokasi from gamal gave the biggest changes of all of observed variable, followed bay paddy hay and sawdust. The higher the bokasi dosage were given, the bigger the changes were occurred on all of observed variable. There were no significant interactions between bokasi types and dosage

The Efficacy of Pendimethalin Herbicide Mixtures and its Effects on Weed and Yield of SoybeanABSTRACT. Field research has been conducted in Experimental Farm of Agriculture Faculty University of Syiah Kuala Banda Aceh from March to July 2006 for evaluation efficacy of pendimethalin herbicide mixtures and its effect on weed and yield of soybean. Pendimethalin+imazetaphyr herbicide at dosage of 1.0 kg+70 g.a.i. ha-1 could decrease dry weight weed and increase percentage of weed control. Dried seed yield were higher when pendimethalin+imazetaphyr herbicide was applied at dosage 1.0 kg + 70 g.a.i. ha-1
