No full textIl lavoro esamina criticamente le fattispecie a tutela anticipata, contenute negli artt. 270 bis ss. c.p. Con esse il legislatore ha inteso contrastare (rectius prevenire), anche con gli strumenti del diritto penale sostanziale, il fenomeno terroristico: dapprima, il terrorismo interno, poi quello internazionale (o transnazionale), nelle diverse forme che quest’ultimo è venuto assumendo, soprattutto dal 2001 ad oggi. No full textSea urchin gonads are exploited both for gastronomic and scientific purposes; thus, the production of large and mature gonads is essential. Natural populations of the Mediterranean Sea urchin Paracentrotus lividus are subject to increasing fishing ef- forts, due to continuous intensification of consumptions. Aquaculture practices may represent an answer, but the availability of artificial feeds accelerating the produc- tion of high-quality gonads in terms of size, taste, colour, firmness, maturity and via- bility of gametes is critical to boost the productions. The accessibility of cheap and effective feeds promoting the fattening of gonads and the quality of gametes is still a bottleneck slowing down the expansion of echinoculture practices. This investiga- tion is aimed at enabling the development of this strategic sector, by comparing the dietetic effects of fresh foods and a commercial feed for aquaculture, to four newly formulated feeds. The protein contents of diets were strongly related to the GSIs. The abundance of fatty acids appeared inversely related to the viability of embryos and abnormalities of larvae. The features of an ideal diet for this sea urchin were defined, based on the results of experimental trials, and the need for increasing levels of plant-derived proteins during the grow-out period was demonstrated
Epileptic encephalopathy in a patientwith a novel variant in the Kv7.2 S2 transmembrane segment: Clinical, genetic, and functional features
No full textKv7.2 subunits encoded by the KCNQ2 gene provide a major contribution to the M-current (IKM), a voltage-gated K+ current crucially involved in the regulation of neuronal excitability. Heterozygous missense variants in Kv7.2 are responsible for epileptic diseases characterized by highly heterogeneous genetic transmission and clinical severity, ranging from autosomal-dominant Benign Familial Neonatal Seizures (BFNS) to sporadic cases of severe epileptic and developmental encephalopathy (DEE). Here, we describe a patient with neonatal onset DEE, carrying a previously undescribed heterozygous KCNQ2 c.418G > C, p.Glu140Gln (E140Q) variant. Patch-clamp recordings in CHO cells expressing the E140Q mutation reveal dramatic loss of function (LoF) effects. Multistate structural modelling suggested that the E140Q substitution impeded an intrasubunit electrostatic interaction occurring between the E140 side chain in S2 and the arginine at position 210 in S4 (R210); this interaction is critically involved in stabilizing the activated configuration of the voltage-sensing domain (VSD) of Kv7.2. Functional results from coupled charge reversal or disulfide trapping experiments supported such a hypothesis. Finally, retigabine restored mutation-induced functional changes, reinforcing the rationale for the clinical use of Kv7 activators as personalized therapy for DEE-affected patients carrying Kv7.2 LoF mutations

No full textThere are two kinds of Power: subjective and objective. The former, repre- sents the desire of man. The latter, the real relationship between the individual subject and the totally Other. In this second meaning, the Power is originally the monstrous look of the mythical Gorgone, the look of death. The human culture, from ancient Greeks, inaugurated the public politics through the progressive built of visible and formal Institutions of Power. After two thousand and five hundred years, in the later modern age, the biopolitics rea- lized the catastrophic rationalization of society, producing the techno-bureaucratization of death (Shoà or Atomic Bomb). Now, in the actual postmodern age, the techno-informatics digital and algorithmic transformation produces a new kind of Power: the psychopolitics that is without place and formless. Nowadays the individual subject is happy to work for the Power that uses the desire of man for its own goal of empowerment. In this way, it appears again the look of the new, virtual Gorgone

No full text10 aprile 2019. Una giornata densa di significati. 2007/2008 erano gli anni della prima grande emergenza dei rifiuti a Napoli e in Campania. Si doveva fare presto. Molte le cittadine rurali con suoli fertili e pianeggianti che furono investite dai siti di stoccaggio e videro i loro territori sacrificati in nome di una solidarietà a senso unico. Centri storici minori, piccoli borghi rurali, testimonianze millenarie di una civiltà stratificata e dalla straordinaria capacità produttiva di prodotti di eccellenza unici al Mondo furono travolti da un’inaspettata paralisi del ciclo di gestione dei rifiuti urbani della grande metropoli. L’Agro Caleno, circa 700 kmq attraversati dalle reti ecologiche fluviali, dai canali di secoli di sistemazioni idrauliche dei Suoli per costruire nel tempo la più grande riserva agricola e zootecnica per la produzione del migliore cibo. La grande Campania Felix attraversata dalle Viae Consulares di età imperiale quando da Roma i traffici per il sud e per il Mediterraneo passavano per queste stesse terre dove ancora oggi imponenti vestigia non sono meta costante di flussi turistici diretti solo ed esclusivamente alle solite seppur importanti città archeologiche. L’Agro Caleno che vide anche l’imponente piano di sistemazioni urbanistiche di epoca fascista con l’Opera Nazionale Combattenti con l’infrastrutturazione delle campagne fino all’Agro Pontino nel Lazio. Strade, reti, canali per i suoli irrigui e infrastrutture primarie per insediare popolazioni che dovevano combattere la Fame; il Piano dei Mille Poderi. Ancora una volta Lazio e Campania Felix come in età imperiale di Roma erano unite in una straordinaria missione quella della produzione del cibo, generare ricchezza dalla Madre Terra per la straordinaria sapienza e operosità umana
