The relationship between brand equity and intention to buy: the case of convenience stores
The research aims to identify the components of brand equity that affect consumer purchasing intentions and measure the effect of brand equity components on the intention of consumer purchases at the convenience stores in Ho Chi Minh City. The authors conduct the group discussions, expert discussion, and then analyze data from 200 valid questionnaires with four components of brand equity, namely perceived quality, brand loyalty, brand association, brand awareness. The results of Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) show that all four elements have a positive effect on the customer' intention to purchase in the convenience store of Ho Chi Minh City. In particular, the brand association factor has the strongest influence, followed by perceived quality, brand awareness, and brand loyalty. This research contributes that the results confirm the theory of Aaker (1991), Brown and Stayman (1992), Cobb-Walgren et al. (1995), MacKenzie (1986) in the new context of convenience stores in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Besides, the study gives some recommendations to help convenience stores improve the elements of brand equity and it, to enhance attraction for consumers
Technology of operational management in the activities of port elevators
The article deals with the main problems of port elevators, which lead to incomplete use of their capacities. They include: the problem of reducing the capacity factor of the elevator capacity, the problem of lack of rhythm of grain picking operations, the problem of inconsistency with railway transport, the problem of storage of different crops and crops of different quality, the problem of loss of time during the shipment of grain to the ship. The necessity of detailed planning of port elevators' operations by the determination of flows of work passing through the system, as well as the control of their implementation, is proved. The graphical model of implementation of the operational function of the port elevator is suggested, which will allow to coordinate its operations and to check the possibility of their implementation during the departure period of the ship. This model establishes the order of operations, as well as the main planning documents that regulate them. The use of a technological map of the implementation of the operational function for describing the list and sequence of basic operations for the formation of a ship batch and its shipment, conditions and requirements for their implementation, as well as information about the equipment used, is suggested. The graphical model and the technological map of the implementation of the port elevator's operational function provide information on the rational sequence and coherence of the operations' planning for the formation of the ship party and its shipment, which reduces the time loss, provides the opportunity to coordinate the work of the elevator with its transportation system
A hybrid approach to apply dematel in a multi-criteria setting
The DEMATEL method has been applied in the Decision Sciences in several studies. However, one has not been able to apply DEMATEL directly to a multi-criteria matrix formed by a set of alternatives and a set of criteria yet. In order to approach this, we propose a novel way to apply DEMATEL to a multi-criteria matrix for ranking a set of alternatives according to their performances in a set of criteria. For accomplishing this, we consider the set of alternatives in a classical multi-criteria problem as the set of components used in a usual DEMATEL application. To set up the influence degree among studied components, we used the preference index of PROMÉTHÉE II. Such preference index takes into consideration the performances of alternatives on all criteria to establish each influence degree. Thereby, we denote the influence degree by preference degree. This new approach is applied to a case study and results are compared against those of three multi-criteria methods. It is then possible to note small, understandable differences among the rankings. This hybrid approach has therefore shown to be theoretically sound and feasible to be used in the practice of Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis
Some aspects related to the human body plant
The paper presents some important aspects related to the human liver, which is a real human body's plant, having essential roles in human life, especially in the preparation of the food necessary for the organism, in the production of the various essential substances necessary for the body and the basic chemical elements. At the same time, the human liver has the role of detoxifying the body, processing and eliminating toxic elements from ingested foods. The liver secretes various substances necessary for the human body. The more we keep this vital organ healthier, the more human body becomes free, healthier, younger and vigorous. The liver is probably the organ with the most diverse functions in the human body. After ingestion of food, they are processed along the digestive tract and degraded to nutrients that will reach all tissues and organs in the body. The liver is an annexe of the digestive tract with a very complex structure. The morphological unit of the liver is the liver lobe. It has a pyramid shape and a length of a few millimeters. The liver contains up to 100,000 lobules

The objectives are essential for the company to remain in the market facing the limited resources and the strong competition. Thus, a case of study done, with typical view to data collect and analysis. The results indicate the use of feasibility technique, as NPV, IRR, Payback, LI and NUV are decisive for a good financial analysis. Adding to these techniques, a Monte Carlo method used to simulate a variable production condition
Brazilian air transport demand - a historical vision based on fuzzy approach
In the last fifty years, the air transport industry has undergone profound changes. Such changes could be expected to have caused changes in the demand structure of this important industry. The present study intends to analyze the possibility that this happened on the domestic segment of passengers. The work is based on a historical perspective of the evolution of the structure of this market from the fuzzy logic elaborated using fuzzy dual numbers for studies of planning of the sector, related to the period 2008 to 2015. The data used in the calibration of the model were collected from official sources of statistical information
Technology transfer and investments in brazilian public healthcare
This study’s objective is to understand the industrial and technological context involved in the offset policy and technology transfer developed in Brazilian public healthcare. Initially, the acquisition of linear accelerators for oncology treatments seemed to be a solution for the problem of long waiting lines in the Brazilian Single Health System (SUS - Sistema Único de Saúde), but the reality was different. Through the methodological procedure of a case study at a hospital renowned for its oncology treatments in the south of the country, it was possible to elucidate its ability to manage the public investment in relation to the industrial and technological context. The relevant findings show that, even with the limitations of the commercial agreement, the hospital at hand was able to, through knowledge, mitigate the difficulties of the offset policy and carry out the technology transfer with ease, due to its familiarity with the new technology. Through this analysis, based on the empirical context, it was possible to summarize the main benefits and setbacks that arise from the strategic and operational levels of the commercial agreement, both at its initial and final stages. This study hopes to spark new investigations on the topic in order to comprehend and intervene in different contexts and situations

Barriers to expand solar photovoltaic energy in Brazil
Renewable energy has promoted increasingly diffused propulsions in political, social and organizational environments because of their relevance to future climatic conditions and restrictions on natural resources that threaten environmental impacts. Brazil has enormous potential to exploit renewable energy, especially photovoltaic solar energy, since it has a daily solar incidence of between 4,500 Wh/m2 and 6,300 Wh/m2. However, the development of this energy in Brazil faces barriers that end up hindering its implementation and expansion. The objective of the research is to identify and measure the impact of these barriers to the expansion of photovoltaic solar energy in Brazil, through the modeling of structural equations. For the development of the article, interviews with managers of the solar energy sector were carried out all over the country. As for the methodology, it’s an exploratory research, cross-sectional and with a qualitative-quantitative approach. Moreover, concluded that: political and knowledge barriers negatively influence the implementation and expansion of photovoltaic solar energy in Brazil
