B30 is a blend of 30% biodiesel produced from the transesterification process of vegetable oils and 70% diesel derived from fossil fuels. The use of biodiesel is still facing the problems such as high particulate value, water content, and reduced filter life, so it is necessary to improve the fuel-containing biodiesel with bio-additives. This study aimed to determine the effect of bio-additive addition on the characteristics of B30, performance and exhaust emissions of diesel engines, and to determine the best formula from two types of formulas, namely bio additive A (a mixture of turpentine oil, clove terpenes, and citronella) and bio additive B (a mixture of turpentine oil, clove terpene, and rhodinol). The concentration of bio-additive used in the engine performance test was 0.1%. The experimental data was then analyzed using descriptive analysis and one-way ANOVA on the 95% level of characterization testing. The best formula was found in formula B based on the performance test analysis, which increased the torque and power values by 18.09–24.58 Nm and 3.85–5.04 KW, respectively. Furthermore, fuel consumption increased in the bio-additive A by 1,238–1,546 mL/hour and bio-additive B by 1,215 – 1,515 mL/hour. Intriguingly, the CO2 and NOx emissions values decreased by 6–17.6% and 337–1,205 ppm, respectively. Nevertheless, it was observed that the smoke number increased by 2.85 – 6, 45 FSN in bio-additive B. Keywords: B30, biodiesel, bio-additive; diesel engine; essential oi

The aim of this research was to synergize waste from thebiodiesel industry in the form of sterol glycosides with purun waste from creative small-scale enterprises (SMEs)to produce renewable energy as a circular economy. The method applied was in the form of descriptive analysis, followed by identifying and characterizing waste found in the biodiesel industry, as well as various purunwastes, which were collectively sampled every day for 3 months, becoming the basis for developing innovativeproducts. Interviews were conducted on 60 purun craftsmen to confirm the circular economy program beingstudied. Observations were also made in the biodiesel industry and purun craftsmen. Data processing wasobtained from the results of experiments by making briquette products referring to several parameters whichwere the basis for standardizing renewable energy products. The synergy between the two actors, namely theBiodiesel Industry and SMEs in micro-scale circular economy activities, produced environmentally friendly- renewable energy which was very helpful for purun micro and small businesses in Purun Village, Banjarbaru,South Kalimantan. Renewable energy results were from various formulas developed with the main ingredientsderived from purun biomass charcoal and biodiesel industrial waste. The advantage of the product when severalother variables met the SNI standard 01-6235-2000 had a calorific value of 5.809 cal g-1 - 6.598 cal g-1, where5.000 cal g-1 which was the SNI for briquette heat could be exceeded. The calorific value produced is equivalentto bituminous grade coal having a carbon content of above 85%.Keywords: briquettes, calor, purun, sterol glycosides, SME

Transformative education is not negotiable. Along with the changing era, where generation Y and Z havethe character of their generations; they are very different from the previous generation. The various effects ofdigital disruption make it important in presenting transformative education. Transformative means that new waysare needed to ensure that a series of education can provide good outcomes for learning. The current challenges, embedding the character and attitude of statesmanship, critical thinking, and being able to provide creativesolutions to those around them are fundamental to producing superior learners. There are five compulsorysubjects, namely Indonesian, English, Religion, Pancasila, and Citizenship which are often still delivered inconventional ways. In this era, learning is required to produce noble values that are internalized as learners.Besides this, there are contextual things that need to be embedded in these Y and Z generation learners, especiallyin the context of changing times whose challenges are different and lead to sustainable actions that are grown togenerate benefits for their surroundings. This research was conducted with a transformative research approach, developed directly for three years at Padjadjaran University and then titrated three times so that it could producecompulsory course formulations and university characteristics that resulted in learning outcomes in the form ofmastery of values, attitudes, and basic skills needed as fundamental learners in the industrial era 4.0. Charcoal is a coconut derivative product produced from burning coconut shells. In this study, coconut shell charcoal was obtained from the by-product of copra processing. The processing of coconut shell charcoal produces emissions that pollute the environment, which are greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions equivalent to CO2-eq. Life cycle assessment (LCA) is a method that can assess the environmental impact of a product throughout its life cycle. Net energy calculation was carried out to determine the energy efficiency of charcoal production in the form of net energy value (NEV) and net energy ratio (NER). The LCA studied was gate-to-gate, namely from coconut shell transportation to processing into charcoal with emission function units per 1 kg of coconut shell charcoal product. The study was conducted at CV X, located in Sukabumi, West Java, Indonesia. The calculation results show that the raw material transportation stage produced 0.0626 kg CO2-eq/kg charcoal, while the pyrolysis stage produced 0.212 kg CO2-eq/kg charcoal. Energy efficiency analysis showed NEV 9,398.66 MJ and NER 1.09. Recommendations for improvement that can be given are to produce charcoal in one place with a copra factory and produce liquid smoke from the combustion of charcoal. Charcoal production in one factory with a copra factory could reduce the GHG impact by 48%, increase NEV to 12,823.19 MJ, and increase NER to 1.13. Utilization of smoke into liquid smoke increased NEV and NEV to 107,715.75 MJ and 2.03. Combining the two scenarios increased NEV and NER to 211,856.62 MJ and 2.10.
