No full textThe background of this research is needed location selection priority to the fishing port development in one region. Defining this priority is important because 1) there is restricted allocation fund to the fishing port development and 2) the fishing port has been existence that can be influenced to other fishing port development. This objective research is defining the fishing port development priority at Rembang Regency and using Analytical Hierarchy Process Method to achievethis objective. Research result indicates that Tasik Agung coastal fishing port is main priority to develop, and the further priorities are Sarang Medur fish landing place, Karang Anyar fish landing place, Tanjungsari fish landing place and Pandangan fish landing place. Sustainability of fishery resources utilization often less attention in fulfilling demand of global market following with increasingly of human population. This problems will generate degradation of marine ecosystem with increasing magnitude and scale. To overcome those problems, an important approach is by increasing public awareness in management of fishery resources. . Fishery development concept is actually focusing on increasing prosperity by increasing employment opportunity and ensuring resources sustainability.By increasing fish consumption and domestic income will generate fishery sector development, however resources and environmental sustainability, will be the main priorit. No full textNeed to be improved the existence of change for direction and development target in national, regional and international level, claim sensitivity of fishery sector to anticipate the condition. The objectives of the research are analyze fishery effort by taken into considerations: environmental influence, central government policy, local government policy to fishery sector performance and development target of Central Java fishery, and dominant factor which influence. To analyze complicated relation of each variable of fishery effort environment, central government policy, local government policy, capture fishery effort performance, processing industry performance, and development target of central Java fishery are used structural equation model (SEM) analysis with AMOS version 6 software. Collecting data conducted to 228 responder by using closed questionnaire which designed so responder gave opinion by choosing scale number which had scale 1-5 liker scale. The result show chi-square value (1128,994), probability (0,000), CMIN/ DF (1,634), GFI (0,805), AGFI (0,769), TLI (0,912) and RMSEA (0,053), at recommended value gyration, so the model have fit. From 15 examined hypothesis, there are 6 significant hypothesis that are hypothesis 6, hypothesis 7, hypothesis 8, hypothesis 11, hypothesis 12 and hypothesis 15, while hypothesis 1, hypothesis 2, hypothesis 3, hypothesis 4, hypothesis 5, hypothesis 9, hypothesis 10, hypothesis13, and hypothesis 14, proven not significant. No full textDevelopment of fish processing industry in Indonesia obtain a new momentum since issuing the act No. 31/2004 regarding fisheries and determining of agriculture revitalization in the National Development Agenda 2004-2009. The strategy that can be carried out to accelerate development of fish processing industry is development of Prime Fishery Products, those are high quality, safety, competitive and high value added fishery products. The aim of research is to improve quality of public policies in development of fish processing industry, by analyzing factors those have role to Prime Fishery Products, which are (1) public policy related to quality and safety assurance, (2) entrepreneurial orientation, and (3) human resource competency. The research sample is frozen fish processing plants located in Banten Province, Jakarta Province, West Java Province, Central Java Province, Yogyakarta Province and East Java Province. The research is used the descriptive method survey and compiled data are analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method. The result of research is point out criteria of Prime Fishery Products that strongly influence is competitiveness, followed by quality and safety assurance. While value adding is not significantly influence. All determinant factors of Prime Fishery Products are significantly having roles. The leading role is entrepreneurial orientation, followed by public policy and human resource competency

Full text linkKapal perikanan merupakan salah satu unsur dalam menentukan keberhasilan operasi penangkapan ikan. Pembuatan kapal perikanan di Indonesia secara umum masih bersifat tradisional. Kayu digunakan sebagai material utama dan dibutuhkan ketersediaan kayu dalam jumlah yang besar. Saat ini, produksi kayu dari hutan di Indonesia semakin menurun sehingga menyebabkan kayu menjadi terbatas dan harganya tidak ekonomis, sehingga perlu adanya efisiensi penggunaan kayu. Tingkat efisiensi ini dilihat dari tingkat pemanfaatan material kayu pada pembuatan konstruksi kapal. Penelitian ini penting dilakukan dengan alasan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi serta keefektifan pembangunan kapal kayu di Indonesia terutama pada penggunaan material kapal, salah satunya adalah gading-gading. Pemilihan gading-gading sebagai fokus bahasan pada penelitian ini dikarenakan gading-gading merupakan salah satu konstruksi utama kapal yang berfungsi sebagai rangka kapal. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode survey, yaitu galangan kapal rakyat UD. Semangat Untung di Desa Tanah Beru, Bulukumba, Sulawesi Selatan. Objek penelitian ini adalah kapal perikanan yang memiliki 29 gading-gading dengan tipe U bottom, round bottom, dan V bottom. Analisis data dilakukan dengan membandingkan volume kayu terpakai dengan volume kayu awal serta mengelompokkan gading-gading berdasarkan tipenya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pemanfaatan kayu untuk pembuatan gading-gading mencapai 85,53%. Nilai ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan kayu untuk gading-gading cukup efektif

Full text linkMuara Angke fishing port is one of fishing ports in DKI Jakarta which is dominated by small fishing vessels (less than 30 GT). In order to ensure safety at sea, those vessels require maintenance periodically. Consequently, shipyard which is located close to the port is the important industry to meet the demand of fishing vessels maintenance. Indirectly, shipyard’s adopted technology influence the quality of maintenance. The technology level assessments conducted by Fauzan et al. (2009) and Natapraja (2010) in two shipyards showed the technology contributions in those shipyards were classified at normal contribution and semi modern level with slight difference in TCC (0.447 compare to 0.415). Based on their results, the smaller shipyard had a bigger TCC than the larger one. Therefore, in this research, there will be analysed the causal factors of the differences. This is a descriptive comparative research and as the main object of research is the technology level assessment from two shipyards. The result showed the factors affecting the assessment were shipyard conditions, resource person’s reliability and different assessors’ perception. Moreover, it was noticeable that computerize gave a significant effect on shipyard’s technology level. Good knowledge in assessment’s criteria, either qualitative or quantitative may determine the accuracy of assessment’s result

Full text linkThis research is aimed to identify the performance of capture fisheries in Ternate city. Performance of these include the development of number of capture fisheries households /RTP, fishing boats, fishing gear, fishing production, post-harvest handling, fishing areas and fishing seasons. The result showed that the average growth of number of capture fisheries households in Ternate city decreased by 2.67%. Fishing boats structure is still dominated by small-scale fisheries (87.85%). An average of amount fishing gears occurred in purse seine (24.55%/year). The development of average annual production of capture fisheries in ten last years increased by 14.61% to the type of fish caught are dominated by skipjack (Katsuwonus Pelamis). Post-harvest handling is fresh consumption (15.854,87 tonnes). Catching fish was conducted in the Maluku Sea (WPP 716) and season arrests were made throughout the year and peak season in January-April and September-October

No full textThis paper discusses on static stability of Muncar purse seiner. The purse seiner data was obtained from the previous research which discussed on its design and constructions. A case study method was applied in this research. The objective of the research is to determine stability static quality of Muncar purse seiner.Some analysis was applied in this research such as, ratio dimension analysis, hydrostatic analysis and static stability value of the ship. The result showed that, ratio dimension of the ship (L/B, L/D, B/D) followed general range of Indonesian purse seiner, its coeffisien of fineness were within a range of purse seiner in Indonsia as well. Based on static stability analysis with 7 (seven) operational conditions taken into account, showed that the ship had good stability and suitable for non-extrem waters operationed

No full textCondition of fisheries manpower makes important role on supporting policies for the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries. Especially in fishery sector, the manpower competency is proved by issuing deck and engine certification of competency. The certificate is one of the fishing vessel personnel standard certificate which implemented the international mandate of IMO, FAO and ILO. The recent problem is how far demand of the manpower meets the supply, due to rapid development of vocational high school chiefly on producing middle level of fisheries manpower. The hypothesis is that demand and supply of middle fisheries manpower be inline and appropriate. The study is conducted to indicate middle fisheries manpower and fishing vessel at existing condition, to predict the need of manpower and to recommend strategic formulation for the manpower development. Existing condition of manpower and fishing vessel are conducted on the frame of survey. Projection of the manpower need was done by regression approach, and the recommendation for the manpower development is based on management strategic stages. Result of study covered time series of supply of manpower and fishing vessel quantity. Demand projection for manpower seemed unbalance of the supply and recommendation has been proposed. The study pointed out that the fisheries manpower supply just meet a demand about 10% of the necessity of sertified fisheries manpower. Projection of fisheries manpower for 2010 as 39,270 peoples. Main recommendation from the study is appropriate infrastructure and facilities as standardize to be provided
