    KEBERLANJUTAN PERIKANAN TANGKAP DI KOTA TERNATE PADA DIMENSI EKOLOGI

    The objective of this study is to determine sustainability status of fisheries captures at Ternate city bases on ecology dimension using RAPFISH approach. RAPFISH (Rapid Appraissal for Fisheries) approach, that is a technique ordination multi-discipline and non-parametric that used to evaluate and determine the fisheries status, in the case of sustainability. This research indicates that in general sustainability index fishery captures in Ternate city exists from criterion 51-75 (fair sustainable status). Fishing gear of hand line has index value highest sustainability (72,58%), whereas index lowest sustainability is fishing gear of tuna long line (54,01%). Simulation Result Monte Carlo indicates that spreading of index plots sustainability it is at distance that not far and each other nearest with position of sustainability status ordination until support determination appropriate of sustainability status ordination analyzed. Sensitivity Analysis shows that attribute migratory range, range collapse, and catch pra-matuary are attribute that very high effect on value of sustainability fisheries captures index at ecology dimension in Ternate City

    KAJIAN EKONOMI PEMANFAATAN SUMBERDAYA IKAN TERI DI KABUPATEN AGAM, PROVINSI SUMATERA BARAT

    The objective of the research is to determine optimum allocation of anchovy resource utilization in Tanjung Mutiara Waters at Agam District, West Sumatera Province. The research calculates optimum values of production level, effort, and benefit value or rent of anchovy resources. Optimum allocation is calculated by growth function of surplus production. This model uses component of real cost and price from price index consumer (IHK). Biological parameter of r, q, and K are estimated by using model CYP (1992). Analytic resolving by using program of MAPLE 9.5 to anchovy resource at discount rate 29% obtained optimal biomass (x*) for anchovy 1,921.52 ton, optimal yield (h*) 1,563.95 ton and optimal effort (E*) 2,709 trip with rent of resources Rp 2,886,878,358, and rent of overtime Rp 9,920,544,186. Result of calculation of optimum allocation of anchovy resources shows that fishing effort (E*) as much 2,709 trip with amount of fishing gear unit is 21 bagan (lift net)

    Mane’e adalah salah satu bentuk pengelolaan tradisional tentang perikanan karang yang masih dipegang teguh oleh masyarakat di Kepulauan Nanusa, Kabupaten Kepulauan Talaud, Propinsi Sulawesi Utara. Mane’e mengandung arti pernyataan kesepakatan dari masyarakat setempat untuk mempersiapkan alat tangkap ikan dan pengoperasiannya secara bersama-sama pada waktu dan lokasi tertentu. Mane’e itu sendiri sangat terikat dengan hukum adat yang di sebut Eha’, yaitu larangan bagi semua orang untuk tidak mengeksploitasi sumberdaya alam pada suatu periode waktu tertentu (biasanya melalui penutupan daerah dan musim penangkapan ikan); kemudian tidak mengijinkan siapapun untuk memasuki pantai dan perairan terumbu karangnya selama satu tahun. Eha’ ditetapkan oleh lembaga adat lokal bersama-sama dengan pemerintah setempat dan lembaga keagamaan.Alat tangkap ikan secara tradisional terbuat dari tumbuhan perambat (seperti akar) yang banyak tumbuh di hutan Kepulauan Nanusa, yang disambung-sambung membentuk tali sepanjang 3000 – 5000 m; dimana pada setiap jarak 10 cm diikatkan janur daun kelapa. Alat tangkap dipasang melingkar pada rataan terumbu yang merupakan lokasi mane’e, dengan kapal kayu pada pagi hari saat pasang tinggi. Para penyelam dengan jarak tertentu mengikuti tali dan menggiring gerombolan ikan perlahan-lahan ke pusat lagoon ketika air sedang bergerak surut. Hasil tangkapan umumnya terdiri dari ikan-ikan karang.Beberapa petanyaan penting yang muncul dari penelitian ini dan perlu jawaban pada kegiatan penelitian berikutnya adalah: Mengapa sejumlah besar ikan-ikan karang dapat ditangkap dengan mudah hanya dengan menggunaka tali yang terbuat dari tumbuhan perambat?     Efektivitas Bubu Lipat Modifikasi dan Penggunaan Umpan Cacing Tanah (Lumbricus rubellus) pada Penangkapan Spiny Lobster (Panulirus spp.) di Perairan Pesisir Timur Teluk Palabuhanratu Jawa Barat

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas bubu lipat modifikasi dan penggunaan umpan cacing tanah pada penangkapan lobster. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen penangkapan dengan pola Rancangan Acak Kelompok, dimana digunakan 2 jenis bubu lipat, yaitu bubu lipat modifikasi pintu samping dan bubu lipat standard dan perlakukan 2 umpan, yaitu cacing tanah dan tembang (standar) dengan ulangan sebanyak 20 trip penangkapan. Hasil tangkapan terdiri dari target utama dan by-catch. Komposisi hasil tangkapan utama adalah lobster 31 ekor (33,7%), terdiri dari 3 spesies, yaitu lobster hijau pasir (Panulirus homarus) 29 ekor (31,5%), lobster hijau (Panulirus versicolor) 1 ekor (1,1%), dan lobster mutiara (Panulirus ornatus) 1 ekor (1,1%). Hasil tangkapan sampingan (HTS) atau by-catch dengan total 61 ekor (66,3%) yang terdiri dari kelompok krustasea (rajungan) 33 ekor (35,9%), kelompok moluska (sotong-Sepia sp.) 22 ekor (23,9%), kelompok ikan (kerapu tutul-Epinephelus maculatus) 5 ekor (5,4%), dan kelompok krustasea (udang ronggeng-Squilla mantis) 1 ekor (1,1%). Penggunaan bubu lipat penelitian dan jenis umpan berbeda nyata pada taraf nyata 5%, dimana bubu lipat standar lebih baik dalam menangkap lobster dibandingkan dengan bubu lipat modifikasi. Sedangkan bubu lipat yang menggunakan umpan cacing tanah lebih baik dibandingkan dengan bubu lipat yang menggunakan tembang (standar). Bubu lipat modifikasi dapat mereduksi by-catch hingga 50% dibandingkan dengan bubu lipat standar

    There are 13 catching tools for fisheries that usually used in Belitung Regency, but those still need to be developed based on characteristic of each sub region in Belitung Regency. This research aim is to determinate the appropriation between all fisheries catch tools to each sub regions in Belitung Regency. This research is held in Sijuk, Tanjung Pandan, Badau, and Membalong Subregions in Belitung Regency. Analysis that used in this research are descriptive analysis, fish resource analysis, feasibility analysis for catch fisheries effort and Location Quotient (LQ) analysis. The result are there 13 fish catch tools usually used in Belitung Regency, and there are only seven fish catch tools that appropriate with each sub region, they are troll lines, large stationary fish trap and bubu that suitable if developed in Sijuk Sub-region, with each LQ value 2,49; 1,32; and 1,61; boat seine and drift gill net that suitable if developed in Tanjung Pandan Sub-region, with each LQ value 1,88 and 1,84; trammel net that suitable in developed in Badau Sub-region, with LQ value 2,83; and the last is boat fishing platform that suitable if developed in Membalong Sub-region, with LQ value 5,40. The conclusions are Sijuk could become basis for troll lines, large stationary fish trap and bubu; Tanjung Pandan could become basis for boat seine and drift gill net; Badau could become basis for trammel net; and Membalong could become basis for boat fishing platform

    The objective of this research is selecting applicable fishing method in the term of applicable fishing development for fishermen empowerment and optimally resources exploitation.  This re-search is conducted to indentify the feasible instruments of applicable fishing for improvement ba-sed on biological, technique, social and economical aspects.  The method applied in this research is survey.  In the research, comparative study is conducted to identify reliable fishing units out of number of fishing units (purse seine, payang, gill net and beach sine) based on biological, tech-nical, social and economical aspects.  The result of research shows “floating gill net” is first priority for category of biological aspect.  While technical aspect puts purse seine on its first priority, and social aspect put purse seine and beach sine on its first priority, as well as economical aspect for business efficiency criteria put purse seine on its first priority and for investment efficiency criteria put payang on its first priority.  Purse seine is the most appropriate fishing unit for first priority in development based on biological, technical and social aspect as well as economical aspect.Key words: beach seine and purse seine, gill net, payan

    Fisheries activities in Northern coast of Java, mainly small pelagic fisheries, have an important role in fisheries development in Indonesia. This research was conducted in September 2005 - January 2006 and designed to identify the status of small pelagic fish resources and determinant factors promoting fisheries efficiency. The fisheries was at over-fished stage as attribute by decreasing annual productivity, from about 108.92 ton in 1995 to 43.39 ton in 2004. The significant factors promoting the production included size of fishing boat, duration of fishing trip, level of experiences of fishermen and type fishing gear. Meanwhile, significant factors promoting business success (profit) was price of fuel (locally known, solar). The efficiency of production was 0.52 – 0.55 and the profit of capture fisheries business was around 0.36 – 0.38 respectively

    IDENTIFIKASI SISTEM PERIKANAN TUNA LONG LINE DI PPS CILACAP JAWA TENGAH

    Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi sistem perikanan tuna long line di Pelabuhan Perikanan Samudera (PPS) Cilacap. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada 19 Agustus -17 September 2009 di PPS Cilacap, Kabupaten Cilacap, Jawa Tengah. Analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis sistem. Berdasarkan analisis kebutuhan, pelaku yang terlibat adalah nelayan, perusahaan perikanan, pedagang, PPS Cilacap dan Dinas Perikanan. Formulasi permasalahannya adalah keterbatasan modal pemerintah, masih sedikitnya perusahaan perikanan tuna, dan sarana serta prasarana yang tersedia belum memadai. Hasil analisis diagam lingkar sebab akibat dan diagram input output mengidentifikasi bahwa sistem perikanan tuna bergantung pada fungsionalisasi usaha perikanan tuna, pelabuhan perikanan, aksesibilitas lokasi, kelembagaan dan peraturan/kebijakan. Untuk itu, sistem perikanan tuna long line di PPS Cilacap lebih baik diarahkan pada penambahan unit industri pengolahan perikanan tuna bukan pada penambahan unit penangkapan tuna long line, penguatan kelembagaan, peningkatan sarana dan prasarana pelabuhan perikanan serta aksesibilitasnya seperti sarana transportasi dan sarana cold storage. Hasil penelitian ini menjadi dasar dalam membuat pemodelan sistem perikanan tuna longline bagi pengelolaan dan pengusahaan sumber daya tuna secara berkelanjutan di PPS Cilacap

    ESTIMASI MUSIM PENANGKAPAN LAYANG (DECAPTERUS SPP) YANG DIDARATKAN DI PPN PEKALONGAN, JAWA TENGAH

    Estimation fishing season of layang (Decapterus spp) was carried out through data catch of layang from purse seine fishing units landed at PPN Pekalongan. The objectives of the research were to analyze the trend of catch per unit effort of layang (CPUE), to estimate the pattern of fishing season and fishing ground of layang. CPUE analysis was carried out by comparing the catch of fishing effort, the estimated pattern of fishing season was carried out by analysis of time series (moving average), and estimates of the fishing ground by ranking the value of the average monthly trip. During 2004 to 2008, the average CPUE of layang is 13.55 tonnes/trip to the range of 1.37 to 39.60 tons/trip. Fishing season layang is in January, February and May to December, peak season in November and off season in March. Potential fishing ground for catching layang was estimated at Lumu-lumu, South China Sea, Bawean, Matasiri and Karimun-Cirebon

    HUBUNGAN ANTARA BENTUK KASKO MODEL KAPAL IKAN DENGAN TAHANAN GERAK

    This paper describe results of the experiment of resistance from four different types of fishing boat hull in Indonesia such as U-bottom, round bottom, round flat bottom and akatsuki. The objectives of the research are to estimate the value of the resistance from different type of fishing boat hull, and (2) to estimate the type of hull which is the highest and lowest resistance.The research was carried out in the flume tank by using the model of fishing boat hull with scale 1 : 40.The four different types of hull were investigate in the water flow. The data of resistance were taken when the fishing boat in stable condition, heaving, pitching and moving to the right and left. The 10 data were taken from each different types of hull.The results of the experiment shows that the akatsuki type is the highest resistance, followed by U-bottom, round flat bottom and round bottom. The percentage of resistance from each type of hull shows that the akatsuki 0,19% higher than U-bottom. While the resistance of U-bottom 8,05% higher than round flat bottom, and the resistance round flat bottom 3,23% higher than round bottom
