    Nowadays,venture capital is not  known on the field of marine and fisheries, while this sector has a problem in capital needed.  Challenges of capital needed  have became a classical problem on fisheries sector, so it requires a comprehensive solution by all parties.  The existence of venture capital on the one hand who actually provide the opportunity is big enough to bridge and help solve the problem.  But on the other hand, until this time there is no model for the appropriate use of venture capital in the fishery.  The goal of this research is to analyze the role of venture capital funding in the fishery, to analyze the impact/influence of the venture capital  fishery and determine the development of policy scenarios for the development of venture capital fisheries.  This research is conducted in the Tegal District because this area has a lot of fishermen who receive assistance from the venture capital PT Facilities Central Java Ventura. approaches of this reseach are descriptive analysis, regression analysisand Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA).  The results of  this research are venture capital have positif or significant influence to the performance of fisheries sector in Tegal District if its  operated appropriate with early criterias or terms of venture capital ditribution and it is need specific criterias terms in venture capital credit distribution, such as ship lifespan, fisherman experiences and capital quantity that distributed.   Key words: capture fisheries, performance, Tegal District, venture capita

    ANALISIS BIONOMI IKAN KARANG DI PERAIRAN KABUPATEN RAJA AMPAT, PROVINSI PAPUA BARAT

    The fishery resources of Raja Ampat Regency in West Papua Province have shown a declining trend in terms of total production. In order to sustainably manage the fishery for future utilization, a baseline analysis needs to be carried out as a tool for sustainable management. This paper attempts to indicate baseline performance of fisheries from bioeconomic perspectives. One of important results of bioeconomic analysis is that currently there is no indication of overfishingyet in Raja Ampat areas. Total production in open access level has showen 3.97ton per week. Effort in sole owner level (MEY) has showen 9,06 trip per week. Economic rent undersole owner regimeis around Rp.43.040.425,19 per week. This condition has shown that catch per unit effort has been efficient, so that fish harvest has been better and will be followed by maximum economic rent.Keywords: bionomic analysis, fisheries resources, open access, Raja Ampat-West Papua, sole owne

    Fisherie resources utilization in Residency of South Lampung as so far has faced on larger potency of fisheries capture while the management is not optimally done yet. This situation has indicated the low productivity of fishing units including the existing fleets as well as unsupported fishing gears facilities in traditional basis. In other hand, in general, the human resources are rare with low management capability. As consequence, technology transfer (adoption) to the lowest level fishermen is constrained. Fishermen slowly use existing technology and be more diversified in business activities. In addition, fishermen\u27s access on capital loan is limited. This research conducted in marine region of South Lampung Residency. The required information is including potency of natural resources, human resources, institution, and available facilities. Data and information on fisheries will be prioritizing to analyze. The data analyses are including standardization of fishing unit, biological aspect analysis, environmental aspect, sustainability and financial feasibility. As we know, fishing units are technical unity in catchments efforts that usually consisted of the Fishermen, vessel and fishing gears. According to the analysis result on fisheries resources and selection on existing fishing units, the expected output should resolved specified for fisheries problems in the regency. In other hand, fishermen expected be to increase the production. Increasing on fisheries product will have significant impact on fisheries activities and fishermen\u27s income. By improving the fishermen\u27s income, the fishermen welfare will be improved

    ANALISIS GENDER TERHADAP KEGIATAN PERIKANAN PANTAI: KASUS KABUPATEN SUBANG, JAWA BARAT (Gender Analysis of Coastal-Fisheries Activities: Case of Subang District, West Java Province)

    The Subang district is located in the north coast of Java Island. One of its economic sources is fisheries. Fifty percent of its production comes from sea. Women  have multiple roles in fisheries activities, such as trader, fish-processor, and financial administrator, but their roles are not documented. This research is aimed (1) to analyze whether the Subang District coastal-fisheries activities have been gender responsive, and (2) to make a coastal-fisheries action plans which is gender resporuive. The data analyses using Gender Analysis Pathway (GAP) and Moser Analysis. The results of  research show that (1) coastal-fisheries activities of Subang District have not yet gender  responsive, and (2) the action plans consist of capacity building, increasing education level, fostering community participaticm, improving local-based fisheries technology, and increasing employment opportunity.Key words: coastal-fisheries activities, gender, small-scale fishermen

    The capture offisheries sustainability is management and the utilization of fish resources which can guarantee the availability of that resources continuously. In this research, the sustainabili ty status offisheries in Manado city has been examined through ecological, economic, sociological, technological, and ethical approaches by employing RAPFISH technique. The status of the purse seine fishery in this region is 53% of the fisheries sustainability which is classified as good fisheries. Meanwhile, tuna long pole­ lines and gillnets fisheries status are 57.5% and 60.1 %, respectively, of the good fisheries sustainability. Improvement of this status can be carried out by improving the severalattributes qualities, among others: wage, other income and sector employment (economy); socialization offishing, environmental knowledge and kin participation (social); pre-sale processing, gear selectivity and fishing power (technology); alternatives and just management (ethics).Key words: sustainability, fisheries status, coastal cit

    Spiny lobster (Panulirus spp.) merupakan komoditas perikanan laut unggulan yang memiliki nilai ekonomis penting dalam perdagangan tingkat lokal maupun internasional. Kegiatan penangkapan lobster merupakan salah satu kegiatan usaha perikanan tangkap andalan bagi masyarakat nelayan, karena dengan kuantitas hasil tangkapan lobster minimum dan kualitas yang prima, akan tetap memberikan keuntungan usaha sekaligus meningkatkan pendapatan. Di Indonesia, nelayan menangkap lobster dengan alat tangkap yang sederhana dengan tingkat usaha penangkapan skala kecil. Penggunaan bubu untuk kegiatan penangkapan lobster secara komersial belum banyak dilakukan, karena bubu yang digunakan oleh nelayan selama ini hanya untuk menangkap ikan, rajungan dan kepiting bakau. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Januari-Juli 2010 menggunakan metode desk study. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mempelajari perkembangan rancang bangun bubu lobster sebagai dasar upaya pengembangan desain yang efektif. Berdasarkan penelitian, diperoleh rancangan gambar desain bubu lipat satu pintu samping bentuk kotak dan bubu lipat satu pintu atas bentuk trapesium keduanya dipasang dengan pemicu pintu masuk. Efektivitas bubu lobster ini perlu diuji lebih lanjut, baik dalam pengujian skala laboratorium maupun skala lapangan

    Supply chain analysis is the one of framework analysis begin great quantities in the world of industry to increase additional value and competitiveness. In the supply chain concept, Fishing port is becoming one of the unity of fisheries supply chain system which is consists of fisherman, local grocery, processing industry, exporter until the consumer. The objectives of the study are to observe flow of supply chain in Palabuhanratu Archipelago Fishing Port (PPNP) especially around distribution activities. As a result of the analysis, PPNP can be able to supply the fisheries product for local market (Jakarta, Sukabumi etc) of 94%, and 6% for export market. There are uneffective coordination by the PPNP within the industries/exportir, fishermen and local seller.     DAYA PENGURANGAN HASIL TANGKAPAN SAMPINGAN (BYCATCH) DARI TIGA TIPE BYCATCH REDUCTION DEVICE (BRD) : PERCOBAAN TRAWL DI LAUT ARAFURA

    Study on the bycatch reducing capacity of three type of BRDs toward the bycatch was carried out in the Dolak waters in the Arafura Sea from 29 November until 9 Desember 2007. The objective of the research is to compare the reducing capacity of three types of BRD (TED super shooter, square mesh window, and fish eye) toward the bycath. The result of the research showed that from total 26 hauls 45 sppecies were identified comprises of 21 sppecies of fisher, 2 sppecies of shrimps and some sppecies of crabs. From those sppecies of fish 21 sppecies of economic fisher were utilized by the fishers. The result of wilcoxon sign test showed there is no statistically significant different in reducing the bycatch for three different types of BRDs. However, the fish eye reducing the bycatch up to 13.36% and the square mesh window 5.89%. In contrast, TED super shooter increasing the bycatch 4.66%. Those BRDs had influenced to the shrimp loss i.e 21.25% for the fish eye, 22.13% for the square mesh window, and 32.29% for the TED super shooter

    HASIL TANGKAPAN UTAMA DAN HASIL TANGKAPAN SAMPINGAN (BYCATCH) DARI PERIKANAN DEMERSAL TRAWL SKALA KECIL DI PERAIRAN UTARA JAWA BARAT

    The total catch from small scale demersal trawl fisheries is categorised into target catch and the bycatch. The target catch were identified during the research consists of 6 species which comprises of bago (Penaeus semisulcatus), jerbung (Penaeus merguiensis), kipas (Scylaroides squamosus), krosok (Parapenaeopsis sculptilis), ronggeng (Harpiosquilla rhapidae) and windu (Penaeus monodon) with the total catch of 271,59 kg (25,41%). The bycatch which is categorised as economic highly valuable consists of 4 species such as (Loligo sp) , kepiting (Scylla serrata), rajungan (Portunus sp) and sotong (Sepia sp) with the total catch of 154,97 kg (14,50%). Then the bycatch which low economic valuable consists of 30 species 642,27 kg (60,10%), from the total catch of 1068,83 kg. The morfology of fish were dominated by compress fish with the standard length range between 7 to 20 cm and width range between 0,2 to 2,3 cm

    Research on design considerations and estimation of forces of fish aggregating device was carried out in Pandeglang water’s Banten Province.  The main construction of fish aggregating de-vice consists of pontoon, wire, main line, attractor (coconut leaf), and sinker (main, bet-ween,attractant).  Total buoyancy force is estimated 2.743.896,59 gs, and total sinking force is 1.006.888,74 gs thefore the extra buoyancy force is 63.30%.  The buoyancy and sinking forces are smaller than breaking strength main line (6.500.000 gs), the main line still resistance in maximum condition of buoyancy and sinking force.Key word: buoyancy force, fish aggregating device, sinking forc
