Get PDFGli affect studies, un campo di studi che ha origine negli anni Novanta in ambito anglofono grazie soprattutto al lavoro pionieristico di Brian Massumi e Eve Kosofsky Sedgwick, hanno permesso di riconcepire le categorie ermeneutiche affermando la centralità non tanto dei soggetti, quanto piuttosto della loro interazione. La in-between-ness degli studi ha permesso altresì di mettere in discussione i dualismi che hanno permeato il pensiero occidentale, proponendo invece un’indagine di tipo non descrittivo che superi i tradizionali confini tra le discipline in cui viene incasellato il sapere. La pubblicazione di The Affect Theory Reader (2009) costituisce il momento cardine nella sistematizzazione degli Affect studies con il delinearsi di alcune genealogie, proposte nel volume da Melissa Gregg e Gregory Seigworth, che riflettono le varie direzioni prese da questi studi nella rilettura di Gilles Deleuze e Silvan Tomkins. Successivamente la critica femminista e neo-materialista ha individuato nell’affetto una componente incorporata che sovverte tanto i principi deterministici quanto quelli di libero arbitrio

Get PDFThis article offers a new interpretation of The Turn of the Screw. The reader is not asked to choose between ghosts and hallucinations, but rather to understand that James’ intention was to include a ghost story in a story of hallucinations. These two stories intertwine and transform into one another. Nonetheless, the mental dimension remains prevalent: The Turn of the Screw is a tale of identity or rather of the dissolution of the principium individuationis and the consequent establishment of a “confusive regime”. The rise in personal pronouns is the detail that points to and confirms this interpretation.This article offers a new interpretation of The Turn of the Screw. Il flusso e il ghiaccio. Del pensiero binomiale nella cultura europea (1865-1923)
Get PDFFra gli ultimi decenni dell’800 e i primi del ‘900 un vasto gruppo di intellettuali attivi in differenti campi (letteratura, filosofia, sociologia, critica letteraria, critica artistica, ecc.) imposta il proprio discorso sulla base di rigide coppie binomiali (la più famosa e duratura è quella concernente i concetti di Kultur e Zivilisation) tese a differenziare su principi giustappostivi e a-dialettici due campi d’indagine sempre in radicale contrasto. Benché lo schema interpretativo si adatti a settori quanto mai eterogenei (siano queste le conformazioni consociative ‘comunità’ e ‘società’ in Ferdinand Tönnies, le espressioni artistiche di Rinascimento e Barocco di Heinrich Wölfflin, i concetti di ‘anima’ e ‘forma’ del giovane Lukács o quelli di Riforma e Controriforma del Malaparte fascista, ecc.) le caratteristiche assegnate ai rispettivi termini del binomio si ripetono pressoché identiche da un’analisi all’altra. Dove uno dei termini risulta legato alla catena metonimica dell’Essere e ai concetti di universalità, saldezza, rigidità, unità, ecc., il secondo riferisce alla sfera del particolare, dell’apparenza, della disgregazione, della fluidità, ecc. L’articolo analizza, seguendo alcuni esempi, tanto l’espressione di questa cultura quanto le ragioni del suo formarsi in opposizione allo sviluppo e poi all’egemonia della cosiddetta ‘filosofia della crisi’.Between the last decades of the XIXth century and the first years of the XXth century, several European intellectuals active in different fields (literature, philosophy, sociology, literary critic, art history, etc.) develop a discourse based on rigid dichotomies (the most famous of which is the one regarding the concepts Kulturand Zivilisation) aimed at differentiating, on non dialectical principles, two cultural fields always in radical contrast. Although the same scheme is applied to very different intellectual grounds (the social conformations of ‘community’ and ‘society’ in Ferdinand Tönnies, the artistic expressions of Renaissance and Baroque in Heinrich Wölfflin, the concepts of ‘soul’ and ‘form’ in the young Lukács, or those of Reformation and Counterreformation in the fascist intellectual Curzio Malaparte, etc.) the features attributed to the respective elements of the dichotomiesrepeated across the different analyses. If one the two elements is related to the idea of Being and to the concepts of universality, firmness, rigidity, unity, etc., the second one refers to the particularity, the appearance, the disaggregation, the fluidity, etc.My article analyzes, following several examples, both the manifestation of this culture and the reasons behind its formation

Get PDFCette contribution veut montrer comment les réflexions de Ferruccio Rossi-Landi (1921-1985), dont certaines inédites et présentées pour la première fois dans cette étude, enrichissent celles de Lucien Goldmann (1913-1970) sur les concepts d’idéologie, de réification et de vision du monde, permettant ainsi de comprendre l’usage possible de la sémiotique rossi-landienne à l’intérieur d’une sociologie matérialiste-dialectique de la littérature telle que Goldmann la concevait.This contribution wants to show how Ferruccio Rossi-Landi’s reflections, some of which are still unpublished and presented in this study for the very first time, enrich Lucien Goldmann’s ones on ideology, reification and vision of the world, thus permitting to understand the possible usage of Rossi-Landian semiotics in a Materialist-Dialectical sociology of literature as Goldmann used to conceive it
La parola silenzio
Get PDFQuesto lavoro indaga la figura del silenzio, come si sviluppa in alcuni poemi di Paul Celan. In particolare, analizza l’argumentum e silentio, un’inferenza vera basata sul tacere o sulla mancanza di risposta. In questo silenzio è in gioco la morte della lingua. La lingua tedesca, che è la lingua materna del poeta. Violentata dai nazionalsocialisti e annientata nei forni crematori. La domanda riguarda come sia possibile continuare a scrivere poesia in questa lingua, e come la poesia possa sostenere ancora il mandato etico che le impone di sottrarsi a quella violenza e all’imbarbarimento. Non solo, ma anche come sia possibile, attraverso la poesia stessa, riappropriarsi di quella lingua come lingua materna. A tale proposito, Celan propone un erschwiegene Wort, una parola che sia vinta, conquistata, strappata al silenzio dell’annientamento, e allo stesso tempo una parola silenziata: la parola silenzio. Una parola detta in silenzio che riconduca il più vicino possibile alle spoglie di quella lingua; tanto vicina da mostrarne l’unicità, da rivelarne le pause e le scansioni che la definiscono in proprio rispetto ad ogni altra. In tal senso, si potrebbe affermare che ogni lingua è materna nel modo in cui trova ritmo e misura rispetto a quanto non può dire. Al silenzio in cui tace (e muore) e su cui si articola, parla ed è messa in funzione. La lingua compie un’azione. Nella poesia di Celan è indicata dal termine Spruch. Gesto, come propongo di tradurre: attività e sospensione allo stesso tempo. Il gesto dà corso all’azione e la lascia in sospeso, non la conclude. Solo così può mostrare che la lingua c’è ed è materna. E che, in fine, le parole di questa non sono che ‘puri gesti’ – Unworten, come li chiama Celan. Testimoni veridici di qualcosa che c’è perché non c’è più.My work analyzes the figure of silence and the way it develops in some of Paul Celan’s poems. More in details, it examines the argumentum e silentio, a real inference based on withholding or lacking an answer. In this silence the death of the German language, Celan’s own language, is at stake. It was violated by the Nazis and slaughtered in the crematoriums. The question is how can it be possible to keep on writing poetry in this language and how poetry can still retain the ethical power which would force to avoid that violence, that barbarization. And furthermore, how can that language possibly reclaim itself as his mother tongue. In this regard, Celan proposes an «erschwiegene Wort», a word which is defeated, conquered, torn from the silence of destruction and, at the same time, a silenced word: the word silence. A word said in silence which could lead closer to the remains of that language, so close to reveal its pauses, its articulations, its own uniqueness. Accordingly, we could state that each language is motherly when it finds its rhythm and its measure around something it cannot pronounce. The language takes action. In Celan’s poetry this action is suggested by the word «Spruch» which I suggested to be translated through a linguistic gesture: it is action and its suspension at the same time. This is the only way to demonstrate that the language is at stake and it is motherly. And, in the end, its words are nothing but ‘pure gestures’ - Unworten, as Celan defines them: true witness of something that is there because it is no longer there

Get PDFIl contributo interroga il rapporto tra psicoanalisi e poesia a partire dal processo di soggettivazione che la pratica analitica offre alla singolarità: mentre il soggetto parla in analisi, qualcosa si scrive alle sue spalle. Il rapporto tra il corpo parlante e la scrittura viene così indagato grazie alla natura poetica dell’inconscio, al centro del quale si incontra l’oggetto pulsionale o il silenzio della parola. A differenza dell’esito nichilistico e mistico, l’esperienza analitica invita a scrivere ciò che non si può dire, sostituendo all’ideale dell’enunciazione poetica, incentrata sull’estro creativo dell’io, la tessitura del poema da cui ciascuno è costituito.The contribution questions the relationship between psychoanalysis and poetry starting from the process of subjectivation that analytic practice offers to singularity: while the subject speaks during the analysis, something is written behind his shoulders. The relationship between the speaking body and the writing is thus investigated thanks to the poetic nature of the unconscious, at the core of which one meets the object of the drive and the silence of the word. Unlike the nihilistic or mystical outcome, the analytical experience invites us to write what cannot be said, replacing the ideal of poetic enunciation, grounded on the creative ego’s enunciation, with the weaving of the poem from which each is constituted
