    Kehidupan Akhirat Perspektif al-Ghazali

    No full text
The belief in an afterlife has been held by nearly all followers of religions and belief systems since ancient times, long before the advent of Islam, up to the present day. Within the Islamic community, differences in understanding the hereafter arise due to variations in interpreting the Qur’anic verses that are somewhat ambiguous (mujmal). Al-Ghazali, in elucidating the teachings about the afterlife, consistently refers to his opinions based on Qur’anic verses and the sayings of the Prophet. In his elaboration, it can be observed that he follows the flow of information from the Qur’an and the Prophet’s sayings. This means that in his explanations, he often clarifies the meanings contained in the Qur’anic verses and relevant sayings of the Prophet, either literally or figuratively.

    Teologi Agraria: Rekonstruksi Konsep

    No full text
This writing seeks to reconstruct the concept of theology of the land (agrarian theology). It is a perspective that the issue of unequal access to agrarian resources is not only a socio-economic issue but also related to religious issues, especially the interpretation of a doctrine by key religious figures. In other words, the inequality of access to agrarian resources becomes more entrenched due to the legitimacy that claims the ‘good’ values of religion presented by these religious leaders. Therefore, Agrarian Theology aspires to become an instrument to break the stagnation that has long been dominated by both the ‘religious rulers’ and the excessive rulers of agrarian resources, resulting in endless poverty. Thus, the ‘stagnation’—if this term may be used—of the agrarian movement that has mostly operated at the socio-economic-political level can become more solid and have new ammunition. In this context, agrarian struggles are not only a social issue but also a struggle to uphold religious values

Hassan Hanafi: Biografi dan Pemikiran Teologinya

    No full text
Hassan Hanafi was a renowned Egyptian thinker and reformer known for the concept of Islamic Left. Islamic Left emerged when various methods of renewing Muslim societies over several generations yielded only relative success, and for some, outright failure, especially in addressing issues of underdevelopment. Islamic Left drew inspiration from the surprising success of the Islamic revolution in Iran, which captivated the world. Islamic Left sought to develop religious reform not only in confronting contemporary threats such as colonialism, protectionism, capitalism, underdevelopment, and oppression, as championed by al-Afghani. It also aimed at the reconstruction of the reformatory religious thought itself

    Sumbangan Fundamentalisme pada Tindak Terorisme

One form of the prevalent social phenomenon in recent times is fundamentalism. This article explores another form of fundamentalism that gives rise to radicalism, and even terrorism, which has been commonly associated with religion, hence termed religious fundamentalism. In Islam, fundamentalism is not purely a religious phenomenon but more of a social phenomenon taking on religious dimensions. Fundamentalism refers to religious movements that act radically to achieve their goals, claiming the authenticity of religious teachings. Accusing fundamentalists as the instigators of violence is unfair if we only blame religious fundamentalism; modernity also plays a role in the violence in the world. Both religious fundamentalism and modernity contribute to nurturing acts of violence. The main cause that spawns fundamentalism is social change

The dynamics of the world have entered a new phase marked by the collapse of the Soviet Union. In the past, the Soviet Union was a superpower and a formidable adversary for the West, especially America. The new powder keg is Islam versus the West. The West is alleged to be dominated by Jews. Paul Findley, for example, mentions the formidable influence of Jews in America, affecting members of Congress and the Senate, as well as executives. Many presidents of that superpower are said to be rendered powerless, even kneeling under the pressure of lobbyists. This article will attempt to analyze various upheavals and imbalances caused by the hands of Zionist Jews throughout history

Gerakan Anti Korupsi dan Restrukturisasi Gaji Pegawai Negeri

    No full text
The momentum and fervor in combating corruption currently underway cannot be separated from the green light and political will provided by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY). In the previous period, anti-corruption efforts were half-hearted and sluggish because some high-profile corruption suspects received protection from powerful individuals, resulting in their cases stagnating. For example, the case of Abdullah Puteh was only expedited after President SBY allowed the Governor of NAD to be questioned. Similarly, cases involving several regents, mayors, and members of regional councils in various areas could only be seriously investigated after President SBY granted permission, as the examination of state officials must be authorized by the president. However, the determination in the legal process of combating corruption must be carried out by professional human resources, supported by adequate salaries and welfare. Therefore, the fight against corruption cannot be separated from the restructuring of employee salaries, resulting in more effective anti-corruption measures

Science and religion are two important aspects that encompass human life. They complement each other within the individual, or conversely, they are at odds, demanding humans to choose between them. The latter stance characterizes the development of science in the modern era, where science becomes secular as it is solely based on the empirical and rational, while religion is not. In Islamic history, science and religion developed alongside each other. Islamic teachings often contain messages to observe the universe as a sign of the Creator\u27s existence. Therefore, the development of science during the Islamic golden age was rapid. The issue of science and religion remains intriguing to study because modern science, which was initially hoped to solve human problems, has now become a problem for human life

He was the first initiator of crystallizing the Qiraat into seven, which eventually became known as the Seven Qiraat. This paper will discuss the role of Ibn Mujāhid in the Science of Qiraat
