    COST ANALYSIS AND PROFIT CALCULATION OF CV LUMINTU: A BATIK MANUFACTURING CASE STUDY IN PEKALONGAN

    Abstract. Background : In many parts of Indonesia, many small and medium-sized manufacturing industries are the main source of livelihood for the population. Not a few of them are out of business because they are not able to sustain their lives every month (Rayadiani, 2015). In Pekalongan, the city is very famous for its batik is a lot of textile industry manufacturing woven fabric ATBM (Investor Daily, 2018) (Non-Woven Weaving Machine) and traditional batik is still able to survive by relying on uniqueness that cannot be duplicated by modern machines (Wiji, 2013). CV. Lumintu is a small-scale manufacturing medium size saw and the production produced is not bulk and not quite customized. Lumintu Workshop is owned by R Asyfa Fuadi. In addition to producing batik orders, R Asyfa Fuadi also sells batik products in a shape of fabric sheets with a fairly easy motive through a network of batik traders in Pekalongan and distributed almost throughout Indonesia. Problem: In this case, many manufacturing firms, let alone with traditional and small scale, do not have a good accounting and financial recording system. Rewards (pricing) made only on the basis of costs incurred for the product alone or guessing because of the absence of good calculations in the cost line. CV. Lumintu only records costs by guesswork only. With conditions that occur, the calculation of prices and profits are almost certainly wrong and can be one of the main causes almost bankruptcy of this traditional company. By doing cost analysis in this traditional manufacturing industry, the author can know and classify all expenses incurred during business process run by CV. Lumintu in everyday life. Apart from calculating the cost incurred, the author can also calculate and know the unit cost and also calculate the breakeven point of each product produced by CV. Lumintu. Methodology: The data collection will be done through the quantitative methodology. In this step, the researcher will have the calculation. Quantitative Research is the methodical correct examination of unmistakable ponders by methods for genuine, logical or computational strategies (Given, 2008). The data collection gained from the primary and secondary data, the primary data from CV. Lumintu which is from the owner itself, and secondary data woud be gained and used as a benchmark to the primary data. Result:The result of this research are (1) the old unit cost is Rp 61.762.233 and the new unit cost is Rp 66.693.394; (2) net income after tax is Rp. 73,548,030, and; (3) a new model of financial statement has to be made by CV Lumintu.Key words: Batik, Manufacturing, Financial Statement, Cost Analysis, Profit Calculatio

    THE DETERMINANTS OF DOMESTIC TOURISM: CASE IN iNDONESIA

    Abstract. Development of tourism in Indonesia can be seen from the number of tourist arrivals in Indonesia both domestic and international that continuously increase. It affects to the increasing in contribution tourism sector into Indonesian economy. Most of tourism activity in Indonesia is generated by domestic tourist which weight 96.60% during 2009-2016. Domestic tourism can contribute in consumption, value added, and employment to Indonesian economy. In 2019, Indonesian Minister of Tourism has target to increase contribution of tourism in GDP to 8%. The precise strategy is needed to achieve the target. With knowing the factor that can influence the number of domestic tourist to do domestic tourism activities, it can easier to make strategy to achieve the target. This research is conducted to investigate the impact of factors on domestic tourism in Indonesia. There are three factors of number of domestic tourist arrivals in Indonesia that will be used in this research; tourists’ income, price of goods and services, and number of accommodation. Panel data regression was used. Based on Hausman Test, fixed-effect panel regression is the appropriate model that describe the problem in this research. All independent variables were significantly affect number of domestic tourist arrivals with positive relationship. Fixed-effect panel regression indicate that 64.64% of the variation in Indonesian domestic tourist inflows could be explained all independent variables.     Abstract. Forecasting plays important role in every business. Most of business decisions are made under the conditions of risk and uncertainty. A company could lessen the adverse effects of risky by determining the demand prospects for its products and services in the future. Same goes to inventory management. With good inventory management, it ensure that the materials would be available in sufficient quantity and at the proper time for production to happen. This research’s aim is to determine the appropriate demand forecasting system and material requirement planning for tuna tofu product of Nikmat Lestari Company. Nikmat Lestari Company is one of the pioneer of tuna tofu producers in Pacitan that already has their product shipped to Jakarta. For determine the appropriate demand forecasting system for Nikmat Lestari, the forecasting method used in the analysis involved Time Series Forecasting method. The forecasting method was checked using measurement of forecast error tools. After finding the appropriate forecasting method with lowest error, determine the appropriate material requirement for tuna tofu. The result of this research showed that Winter’s Model is the most suitable demand forecasting system for Nikmat Lestari Company because it produces the most accurate forecast result and least forecast error. For the material requirement planning, Lot-for-lot is the most suitable for Nikmat Lestari Company because it has lower cost compared to EOQ method.Keyword: demand forecasting, inventory management, Material Requirement Planning, Nikmat Lestari Company, tuna tof

    Abstract - Banking is one of the pillars of economic growth and national stability to improve people\u27s lives from the financial sector. If we look at the history of Indonesian banking, conventional banks were operated much earlier than Islamic bank. Islamic bank was newly established on 1992 while Conventional banks was operated longer than Islamic Bank. Until now, banking industry in Indonesia is dominated by the conventional banking market. But along with the development of the banking world and the needs of the muslim majority in Indonesia to obtain financial services that are based on the principles of Islam which is the principle of profit sharing, the government published the Act No.7 of 1992 on banking. In conducting its operational activities the bank must work efficiently in order to grow faster and survive amid market competition.  In such circumstances, the assessment of bank efficiency becomes important since efficiency is a performance picture of the bank.This study measure VRS efficiency and CRS efficient of two group of banks that are conventional banks and islamic banks in Indonesia for period 2012-2017. The method used is non-parametric frontier  method using data envelopment analysis (DEA) with three input variables, total deposit, labor cost and fixed assets and two input variable, total loans and total income. This study used intermediation approach with output orientation.     Abstract.These days, as the effect of the technology advancement, internet keep growing rapidly. Internet has a role to help people in almost everything. This phenomenon created some new opportunities for people in conducting their business. The selling and buying activities can be done everywhere and without meeting each other, they can utilize their mobile. There are two big companies that successfully dominate the market in Indonesia, that are Shopee and Tokopedia. These two companies as the most used mobile shopping application in Indonesia have to maintain their quality of service in running their business. The purpose of this research is to compare the service quality of Shopee and Tokopedia mobile shopping application and also to analyze the differences using MS-QUAL dimension that are Contact, Responsiveness, Fulfillment, Privacy and Efficiency. The data collected is 200 respondents from each Shopee and Tokopedia mobile shopping application users. The analysis method used in this study is Mann Whitney to analyze the differences of two independent samples. Results indicate that there is no significant difference on Contact, Responsiveness, Fulfillment and Efficiency dimension between Shopee and Tokopedia. Whereas, there is significant difference on Privacy dimension between Shopee and Tokopedia. This study arrives to a recommendation that Tokopedia should improves privacy dimension on the mobile shopping application in order to compete with Shopee as the most used mobile shopping application in Indonesia.Keywords: Mann Whitney, Mobile Service Quality, Mobile Shopping Application, Shopee, Tokopedia Â

    COMPARING ATTITUDES TOWARDS BRAND FOR SPONSORED POSTS AND PAID PARTNERSHIPS ON INSTAGRAM IN INDONESIA

    Abstract. Background: Digital advertisements are more commonly used in this age of technology, with Native Advertisements being examples of the more popular forms of digital advertising that is usually encountered on social media. Social media has proven itself to be a useful tool for building brand awareness, however, it has a greater risk of damaging the company reputation which can affect overall consumer’s Attitudes towards Brand. The amount of Instagram users has exponentially grown over the past few years and its overall stability compared to other social media platforms shows its potential as an advertising platform. With companies spending more on Native Advertising, especially on social media, it is important to know the advertising value for using Native Ads and its relation and effect on Attitudes towards Brand. Thus, this research aims to explore the advertising value of Paid Partnership and Sponsored Post and its relationship and effect on Attitudes towards Brand. Methods: The most commonly applied theory to measure advertising value and Attitudes towards Brand is the Ducoffe Advertising Theory which is used in this research. Quantitative method is applied by spreading online questionnaire to 350 Instagram users based in Indonesia. The data is analyzed using Partial Least Squares (PLS) method and Paired Sample t-test. Results: The results show that the Ducoffe Advertising Value theory can be applied to Paid Partnership and Sponsored Post on Instagram and there is a significant positive correlation between advertising value and Attitudes towards Brand. Conclusion: While overall results shows that Paid Partnership generates more positive Attitudes towards Brand compared to Sponsored post, only one out of five constructs of attitudes towards brand is statistically significantly different and subsequent analysis using several subsamples obtained in this study shows that several subsamples prefer Sponsored Post over Paid Partnership.     ETHICAL KNOWLEDGE AND RESPONSIBLE INVESTMENT DECISION: A STUDY OF UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS

    Abstract. In the current investment boom, there is an increase in the number of demand from certain who considered not only that their investments are profitable, but they also meet certain non-financial criteria. From the available literature, it appears that there is a lot of disagreement among investors, firms, NGOs, and academicians about what ‘ethical investment’ is. It has been widely observed in many studies that financial motives encourage investment decision with an intensity much greater than the moral values that they may have. Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) has emerged as an important issue and drawn the attention of a large number of investors. These investors seem to be guided by a sense of moral duty to balance the pursuit of wealth with ethical or environmental concern. Business school has some responsibility for developing students’ ability to discover and apply values that can improve the future of our world. School of Business and Management, Institut Teknologi Bandung (SBM ITB) as a business school has critical roles in order to prepare leaders to make financial successful and driven by ethical values since ethical knowledge found as foundation of responsible investment. However, the factors that lead the student to invest socially responsible are not well understood, especially in SBM ITB. This study aims to analyze the investment pattern of the student towards the firms engaged in manufacturing ethical and unethical practices across the different demographics factors and to find out the factors that significantly affect ethical investment decision. The primary data gathered by distributing a survey through online questionnaire. The total numbers of respondents in this research are 100 respondents. For the analysis technique, this study performed descriptive, ANOVA, ordinary least squares regression, and logistic regression. Findings show that 69% of SBM ITB undergraduate students consider to invest socially responsible. The study found that class or batch and gender significantly affect ethical investment decision.     Abstract.Economy Creative (Ekraf) is one of the expected sector that can be a new power of national economy in the future. Start-up business in Economy Creative Industry have to possess high creativity and can create uniqueness in their products or services like in event organizer Industry. However, as a start up business industry face similar problem commonly which is marketing problem. Majestic Organizer is still a start up business and still growing in Bandung. Majestic Organizer have a big market that never run out, because most of people will seventeenth years old which means new every year. But Majestic Organizer not yet maximizing their pontetial market and still stuck in sales. Since in event organizer industry is a free industry for everyone can join to this industry so Majestic Organizer should have a good marketing communication to compete and gain market share. From marketing mix, promotion is the part of marketing mix that can be used to raise awareness about the company. Moreover the purpose of this research is to analyze the relationship of promotional mix with purchase intention for Majestic Organizer. The data for this research was collected using quatitative approach through online questionnaire to 201 respondents. The data is analyzed using multiple linear regression to see the relationship between promotional mix and purchase intention.     Abstract. The rapid development of technology causing a demand to get access to get information quickly and as the result smartphone emerge as one of the solution to meet the demand. As the result of the increasing acceptance of smartphone usage worldwide with 93% of internet user in Indonesia accessing their internet via smartphone, mobile apps becoming a potential business in Indonesia. One of the local mobile apps that emerge is GO-JEK, an online transportation app with the concept of ridesharing. With this app user can meet with the owner of vehicle to get a ride to their destination. In this app category GO-JEK is the only local online transportation app compared to their foreign online transportation app competitor like Uber & Grab. All those apps expanding their features and products and slowly minimize the difference between them. The purpose of this study is to find out the factors influencing an online transportation app and focusing on what factors influencing consumer to prefer GO-JEK over its competitors. Attributes tested are Price Consciousness, Coupon Redemption, Innovativeness, Practicality, Safety, Trust, Comfort and Consumer Ethnocentrism. This study is a quantitative study and using convenience sampling as sampling techniques. There are 300 participants in the questionnaire coming from Jakarta and Bandung. The data then will be analyzed with Reliability Study, Descriptive Analysis and Logistic Regression.     Abstract. Bakery themed café is the type of café, which also sell bakery products. By the fact of the changing in the food and lifestyle preferences of people who lives in Bandung, the development of bakery themed cafés are also rapidly happened. Therefore, the factors that affected customers’ purchase intention of bakery themed café in Bandung is need to be analyzed. Service is the key influences of forming customers’ purchase intentions in service environments. This research attempts to investigate the customers’ current perception and to identify the relationship between service quality and customers’ purchase intention of bakery themed café in Bandung. Online questionnaires using Likert Scale designed for 200 respondents with judgmental sampling method. Multiple Regression Analysis used to measure the relationship between service quality with customers’ purchase intention. The result shows that service quality is having the positive relationship with customers’ purchase intention of bakery themed café in Bandung. The service quality also significantly impact purchase intention of bakery themed café.
