UNDERSTANDING THE MEANING OF HUMAN TOUCH MANAGEMENT
Abstract. According to the Oxford Dictionaries, a leader is the person who leads or commands a group, organization, or country. A leader needs people [followers] who want to follow and listen to him. Being in charge of a group of people is not just about leading and commanding but it means inspiring people and encouraging them to become better ones. When a leader does those things, he could finally be called as a good leader. The researcher found a CEO who can be stated that he is a good leader based on that definition. The CEO of XXX Company was the one the researcher found. Although he had different cultural background he has been doing his job well and known for his leadership called Human Touch Management. Even if it was one of the factors that lead him to be successful in his career and helped the company to grow, there was not enough information about Human Touch Management. Therefore the researcher decided to study about it and get more information about HTM. In this research, the researcher discussed about what Human Touch Management (HTM) means and what leadership style it belongs to. In order to define what HTM is, the researcher had visited the XXX Company to observe, meet the CEO who created it, and did in depth interview. The researcher could define that Human Touch Management is the leadership style which thinks employees as the most important asset of company and it is human-oriented leadership. It requires leaders to study about human including psychological, physical, and mental factors. By studying about human, the leader can understand why and how human being behaves, thinks, and says. Then, it helps him to know how to develop himself and understand his employees better. Based on those outcomes, the researcher concludes that Human Touch Management can be stated it belongs to Principle-Centered Leadership and Servant Leadership. EXPLORATORY ANALYSIS TO DEVELOP BATIK LIMBASARI AND ITS COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE
Abstract. Batik is one of the popular fashions in Indonesia which has been acknowledged by UNESCO as original cultural heritage from Indonesia. In certain regional such as Purbalingga city, there is original written batik named Batik Limbasari that had been claimed by Purbalinga government as competitive commodity in Purbalingga. Batik Limbasari industry had undergone the rise and the fall through its development. Michael Porter introduced the theory Diamond Model of nation competitiveness consists of four segments which are firm’s structure, demand condition, supporting industry, and factor condition. Through this research, the author analyzed the current condition of Batik Limbasari industry. The research has an objective to give clear figure of the industry conditions and come up with some steps or applicative strategies recommended in order to develop the current industry. This research had been conducted in qualitative method by doing in-depth structured interview with the batik artisan, government, and PokDarWis Limbasari with the validation methods of triangulation to draw the repetitive results from the respondents. Prior to analyzing the internal and external environment of Batik Limbasari industry by doing environmental scanning, SWOT analysis, and Porter’s Diamond Model analysis. The result of this research revealed Batik Limbasari industry was still lack behind in several points. The difficulties to do regeneration combined with the low level of innovation decreased the interest of batik fashion especially to youth. Then, the demand condition was low due to the lack of marketing activities. The findings urged Batik Limbasari industry to develop its business process to be more innovative and responsive to market, also to strengthen the current domestic market. VALUE FOCUSED THINKING TO DETERMINE ALTERNATIVE STRATEGIES IN BERKAH JAYA FLORIST BUSINESS
Abstract. One of the products that Indonesians typically use to reward certain moments is a flowered board. The flower giving of the board itself, is actually has a meaning as a symbol of appreciation of an achievement (Twsflorist, 2016). Berkah Jaya is one of the flower board company located in Bandung that was established in August 2017. According to Berkah Jaya owner, Mochamad Ramdhani (2017), Berkah Jaya implements several strategies in dealing with the tight flower market competition. One way is to modify the display of flower board products. Since its establishment, the demand for Berkah Jaya order has continued to increase. High demand orders are a promising business opportunity. But every month, Berkah Jaya on average is only able to do half of the number of incoming orders, because the conditions experienced Berkah. Therefore Berkah Jaya has not gained maximum profit. Based on the results of the Cost Benefit Analysis that has been done, it can be concluded that there are several possible alternatives to be applied by the company to achieve company objectives. EFFECTS OF MULTICHANNEL RETAILING TOWARDS PURCHASE INTENTION OF HOUSEHOLD TEXTILES
Abstract. Retail business has changed drastically in the past decade due to the latest development of information and communication technology and emerging online market. In general, consumers have respond enthusiastically with online retail continues to grow significantly for the past 20 years. Multi-channel retailing is seen as the way to go for retail businesses. The author intends to study what characteristic of multi-channel retailing that influences the consumer’s purchase intention towards household furniture textile products and how the characteristic of multi-channel retailing influences consumer’s retail decision to purchase household furniture textile products. The research is implemented within the scope of 95% confidence level, 7% precision interval, focus on household furniture textile, and respondents of Indonesian origin, 21-60 years old, and living in West Java and DKI Jakarta. THE ANALYSIS OF EXTERNAL FACTORS EFFECT ON ONLINE CONSUMER BEHAVIOR TOWARDS ONLINE COSMETICS SHOPPING IN DKI JAKARTA
Abstract. As online shopping is getting popular in Indonesia, the number of online shoppers in Indonesia is increasing. The population is dominated by female due to the increasing of purchasing power of female shoppers. With this phenomenon, bigger opportunities occurs for many women necessities industries to rise including online cosmetics industry. Despite the opportunities, the phenomenon also trigger bigger competition. In order to be the one who gives the best services, online cosmetics businesses must understand their consumers behavior. To understand the behavior, it is become a challenge for the businesses since the behavior is changing along the time. This research aim to to identify and analyze the effect of the external factors (perceived risks and trust & security factor) on online consumer behavior towards online cosmetics shopping. Through this research, the researcher also wanted to find out which factor is the most significant among the external factors. This research will be using quantitative approach and the data will be asses using path analysis on AMOS.The research revealed that all the external factors have negative effect and significant influence on online consumer behavior towards online cosmetics shopping. Moreover, time risk is proven to be the factor which gives the most significant effect among the others. The finding also revealed that there are actually linkages between the independent variables. DESIGNING BASIC SALARY TO IMPROVE EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE IN AYAMAYAMAN.COM
Abstract . Indonesia is one of the developing country in Asia that has many potentials in its food and beverage industry. It gives the biggest contribution for Indonesia non-oil and gas GDP. Restaurants are part of this industry and the number of it being established is increasing each year, especially in Bandung. Ayamayaman.com is one of the restaurants that operating for 24-hours in Bandung. However, the dining in restaurant itself has not been running long and it performance is decreasing. Interview and questionnaire conducted in Ayamayaman.com showed that the decreasing performance caused by employee dissatisfaction toward the compensation system. This research aims to improve employee performance at Ayamayaman.com by designing compensation system based on the competency to determine the basic salary. Current job description was used to be made into job analysis which consists of job description and job specification. Job specification was made by generating competency from compensable factor that describe the requirement for someone to fulfill a job. Point method was used in the next step to calculate the job value from each competency. Salary benchmarking was done next to plan salary that competitive enough in the industry. Validation from the owner is necessary for all of the step conducted in this research. The result of proposed salary was compared with current salary. There are some positions that being paid higher rather than its competency or the opposite. A STUDY OF NARCISSISM AMONG THE BUSINESS STUDENTS AND INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING STUDENTS
Abstract. As one of the top universities in Indonesia, Intitut Teknologi Bandung is expected to produce graduates who are competent, with qualified skills. As previously mentioned by Satrio Madigondo, a head hunter who had observed the personality trends in ITB graduates for four years, he assumed the ITB graduates he ever met were having a high tendency towards narcissism compared to the other graduates from two other top universities in Indonesia such as Universitas Indonesia and Universitas Gadjah Mada (http://thriea.blogspot.com/2012/01/kata-mereka-tentang-itb.html?m=1). He also added that it is quite striking and disrupting the recruitment process. This research aims to become one of the more explicit studies on narcissism levels among students in Institut Teknologi Bandung and also to analyze whether narcissism reflects their career expectations in the future. There are four aspects of narcisism, Exploitativeness / Entitlement, Leadership / Authority, Superiority / Arrogance, and Self-Absorption / Self-Admiration, as for the indicators of career expectations, they are ease of finding a job, income expectations, and promotion expecations. This research sampled students of business and industrial engineering. Based on the previous research , it is found that narcissistic tendencies such as materialistic values and money importance tend to be enhanced in business students (e.g., Robak et al., 2007; Vansteenskiste, Duriez, Simons, & Soenens, 2006) and the sampling of industrial engineering students seem particularly relevant since business school grew out of the Department of Industrial Engineering. A quantitative approach was applied by spreading online questionnaire to business and industrial engineering students in Institut Teknologi Bandung. Overall, 445 were collected. The datas were assessed using Independent Sample T-Test, One Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), Two Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), and Multivariate Analysis Covariance (MANCOVA). The findings revealed that the business students in Institut Teknologi Bandung have significantly higher levels of narcissism compared to industrial engineering students, even after controlling for gender and place of origin. INVESTIGATING SPIRITUALITY AND MATERIALISM IN AN IT-BASED COMPANY
Abstract. The information and technology systems or simply said as IT take a big part of peoples in the daily activities. One of IT development company is through CV DST. Based on the preliminary study, CV DST is facing problems at human resources where the managers (board lines) do not understand the appropriate ways to approach their employees. Later on, the managers focus on the material facilities of their employees and not really pay attention to the spiritual facilities. After that, there is an issue occur that said if the employees are not motivate enough to do their job. The purpose of this research is to analyze the dominant psychological disposition of CV DST employees‘ which is spirituality or materialism based on their profiles and how it reflected in employees‘ behavior to be relevant on the business environment and support the organization to reach the goals. Psychological disposition analysis is done by doing quantitative approach that includes of distributed questionnaire. Then, in order to analyze the psychological dispositions related to self-perceived motivation, self-perceived performance, self-perceived satisfaction and self-perceived engagement is done by doing qualitative approach which is in-depth interview. The result of psychological analysis describes that spirituality have dominant position compared to materialism. However, this result still has to consider additional information such as employees‘ age so it can get the details of employees‘ psychological disposition distribution. If it‘s related to self-perceived motivation, self-perceived performance, self-perceived satisfaction and self-perceived engagement known that employees want to get more attention in their spiritual things. DESIGNING JOB ANALYSIS TO INCREASING EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE IN KOPI ENCUS
Abstract. Culinary industry is one of the strategic sectors for economic development in Indonesia. One of the culinary businesses that has become attractive for businessman and youngsters is coffee shop. Association of Indonesia Coffee Exporters and Industries (AICE) stated that coffee consumption in Indonesia is increasing every year (AICE, 2016). Kopi Encus is one of Bandung\u27s cafe located in Sukajadi Street, Bandung. no clear rules about work distribution so employees faces unclear work while doing their work or unclear job description, because of that employee performance decreasing. To prevent that, job analysis is needed. Job analysis is used to obtain information about the job, which includes both job descriptions conducted in the workplace and the specificity of the skills required to perform the job. Job analysis can help Kopi Encus to create a system by managing job description and job specification. Conducting job analysis can make the employee know about their responsibilities clearly and avoid the overlapping. Therefore, the researcher did the job analysis in Kopi Encus to solve the problem. THE IMPACT OF ONLINE PRODUCT REVIEW ON YOUTUBE TOWARD PURCHASE INTENTION OF SMARTPHONE
Abstract. YouTube is one of the largest social media in the last 5 years. Website that provides the means of watching videos and users who can upload their own video is quite a lot of attention of the people of Indonesia. Became the third order as social media visited by Indonesian average as much as 14,5 billion people watch this every single day (APJII, Indonesia Internet User, 2016). One kind of video that is quite often seen is an online video review product. Online video review product is a kind of video that experience the buyer about some product. This research will discuss about how the effect of online video review on YouTube to purchase intention someone who has seen the video review. Some variables of video like quantity of post, views, likes, comment, and review, perceived risk, perceived credibility, and special attention toward YouTube itself will be the main focus in conceptual framework research. Statistic method to be used in this research is Pa rtial Least Regression (PLS) which will describe the relationships that exist on each variable. In conclusion after do some several phases in this research, researcher can answer the question of the research. In conclusion, this research find that variable in the conceptual framework have a significance effect on purchase intention of smartphone.
