PERSON-BUSINESS FIT ANALYSIS: A STUDY OF SBM-ITB ENTREPRENEURSHIP STUDENTS BATCH 2018
Abstract.The low level value of congruence between personality and the characteristics of a career field is one of the main reasons why many researchers studied about the personality congruence topic. Entrepreneurship, as one of the career field choices becomes the main discussion in this study. There have been many studies that explained about the congruence between personality and career field to find out how matched the personality with its work environment, and how the result affects their interest about their career field choice. The main goal of this study program is to create a generation of young and innovative entrepreneurs. However, almost half of the Entrepreneurship SBM-ITB students did not want to continue their own business after graduate from this school. The author tried to explore whether the personality of each students are congruence with their business field that had been chosen before based on Holland’s theory. The subjects of this research were 60 students who were studied in Entrepreneurship study program. The instrument used in this research was the Holland’s Self-Directed Search (SDS). The author also used the clusters from business field categories that have been converted into the Holland codes. The results of this research showed that the value of congruence between personality and business field that had been chosen by the students have a relatively low score. The results also showed that there is significant difference in personality between students who want to continue and those who do not want to continue their business. DETERMINANT ANALYSIS OF HIGH QUALITY ASSET RATIO USING BANK-SPECIFIC VARIABELS OF 19 COMMERCIAL BANKS IN INDONESIA (2008-2017 PERIOD)
Abstract.According to (Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, 2013) the financial crisis that started in 2007 is caused by the poor management of the banks’ liquidity and if not solved with a contingency plan regarding liquidity, could cause them to collapse. This further stresses out the importance of liquidity especially in banking industry. And due to the recent highlight of new regulation issued by the Basel III committee, the liquidity of a bank will be measured with the Liquidity Coverage Ratio, which illustrates the condition of a bank’s liquidity measured by its high quality liquid asset divided to its net cash outflow in 30 days. This is used to measure the bank’s ability and liquidity in times of distress. This regulation showed the importance of banks to hold into their high quality liquid assets. This study uses bank-specific variables such as CAR, NIM, NPL, LDR, and SIZE to examine its relationship towards High Quality Liquid Asset Ratio as the dependent variable. The data used in this research are obtained from quarterly published financial statements of 19 commercial banks in Indonesia from 2008Q1-2017Q4. This research used Fixed Effect model on regression test, and EGLS Panel (cross-section weight) method is used in processing the data used in this research. The result of regression test showed that out of five independent variables, which are CAR, NIM, NPL, LDR, and SIZE, the only variable that does not have a significant effect towards the dependent variable, High Quality Liquid Asset Ratio is CAR. Then, out of the four remaining independent variables, which are NIM, NPL, LDR, and SIZE, the only variable that has a significant negative effect towards High Quality Liquid Asset is SIZE. Other independent variables, NIM, NPL, and LDR resulted in a significantly positive relationship with the dependent variable High Quality Asset Ratio.Keyword: : Liquidity, High Quality Liquid Asset Ratio, Fixed Effect Model RegressionÂ
FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE AND CSR IN SOUTHEAST ASIA COUNTRIES LISTED BEVERAGE FIRMS
Abstract. The present world conditions are based on a report from the UN development goals of 2017, improving both on water quality and world energy use to achieve sustainability goals by 2030. Corporate sustainability reporting provides important information for investors including the company\u27s views on environmental issues and sustainability as well as environmental and social mitigation strategies and opportunities to take advantage. Can also be presented influence on financial performance (Krechowicz & Fernando, 2009). This research analyze is there any correlation between corporate sustainability especially on environmental issues (material, water and energy) and financial performance (Stock price, EBIT, NOPAT, and Tobin’s Q) of southeast Asia stock market (Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines and Vietnam). This research gives insight and recommendations for the investors in choosing stocks for investment based on environmental performance in materials, energy and water used of the beverage companies. This thesis has scope in Southeast Asia include Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Philippines. According to the result of the regression estimation, Total CSR Score is positively significant to Stock Price, EBIT and NOPAT of beverages companies in southeast Asia. It is accordance with (Pettenella, 2010) that said CSR can reduce direct cost that will impact company’s earnings and CSR have significant effect to company’s stock price (De Klerk, de Villiers, & van Staden, 2015). IMPROVING LAYOUT DESIGN TO MINIMIZE DEFECT STOCKS IN PT. XYZ
Abstract. Defect problem is an important issue that happens in the warehouse as it can be the result of minimizing the profit of the company. PT. XYZ, one of the companies that have the large warehouse for supporting their business operation have a defect problem in their warehouse. PT XYZ is a company that produces fertilizer on a large scale, the market is one of the provinces in Java and the main product of PT XYZ is Urea Fertilizer. During the year 2016, the company suffers 12,100 tons defect stock of urea fertilizer or equal to 1.3% from their total production. This research aims to analyze the effects of the defect problem, find the cause of the problem and develop the possible solution to improve or minimize the defect stock problem in the warehouse of PT. XYZ based on the operational management theory. After the Data collected from several of observation and interview, then the effect from defect problem was identified that is adding salary of employees, adding machine costs, the loss from disposal of broken sacks, and the loss from disposal of unfeasible fertilizers. The total cost and loss resulted from this effects are amounted to Rp. 807,340,000. The root cause analysis was conducted to find the core cause of the problem. In this research, Current Reality Tree tool was used to find the root cause. After passing through the several phases then got the cause of the stock defect that is less optimum design layout on the warehouse in PT XYZ. The possible solution that has been made is to re-design the warehouse layout at PT XYZ because it is related to the problem of causing stock defect and need to be evaluated. In redesigning the layout, the researcher using the framework of previous research. ANALYZING THE IMPACT OF CORPORATE DECISION WITHIN MULYONO’S BRAND COMMUNITY
Abstract. Mulyono is a Community based event organizing brand that is currently struggling to survive due to the fact that it is lacking any sort of income, but making a decision in Mulyono is not that simple, since it is known by the Brand Community (as their main customers) as a deeply independent brand. This research evaluates the performance of Mulyono’s events through its community while validating prospects of income, using descriptive analysis based on the 7P of marketing mix (Booms, Bernard, and Mary Jo, 1981) survey that is analyzed using frequency, factor and Logistic regression analysis. The results from this research shows that there is no significant influence towards the decision based on the regression model. ANALYSIS OF INVENTORY MANAGEMENT OF PHARMACEUTICAL PRODUCTS AND CONSUMABLE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT IN KASIH BUNDA PUBLIC HOSPITAL
Abstract. For several recent years, Indonesia’s healthcare spending is continually growing year by year along with increasing in Indonesia’s Gross Domestic Product. In the most of Indonesian hospital, pharmacy plays a vital role because it takes high contribution of total hospital expenditure. The reason is because pharmacy should procure and handle many pharmaceutical products and consumable medical equipment, which are critically important to patient’s life. While hospital expenditure is continually growing year by year, hospital pharmacy is required to provide good service in delivering pharmaceutical products and consumable medical equipment to patients. Consequently, pharmacy supply chain is expected to be done effectively and efficiently in order to decrease hospital expenditures while maximize their customer service level. This research aims to verify overstock and understock issues of pharmaceutical products and consumable medical equipment in Kasih Bunda Public Hospital which directly related to  hospital’s customer service level. Secondary data about current inventory management was collected from hospital’s document during January 2017 until March 2017. This research uses continuous review policy to determine current inventory status by comparing average inventory level between actual and ideal scenario. Cycle Counting based on ABC Classification is also used to check inventory record accuracy in daily basis with aims at increasing productivity while decreasing inefficiencies. From the analysis, author found that most of pharmaceutical products and consumable medical equipment in Kasih Bunda Public Hospital are enduring excessive inventory. By using continuous review policy, Kasih Bunda Public Hospital has money saving potential as much IDR 542,857,077 which result from overstock value or about 48% of the total actual inventory value. Keywords: AIL, Continuous Review Policy, Cycle Counting, Inventory, Pharmac
GAP ANALYSIS COMPARISON USING THE SERVQUAL MODEL FOR GO-RIDE SERVICE IN JAKARTA AND BANDUNG
Abstract. Initial observation capture the opinion that there is service inequality of GO-RIDE service between Jakarta and Bandung and the fierce competition between the ride-hailing applications are the trigger for the researcher to conduct a service quality measurement. The use of SERVQUAL model by Parasuraman (1985) is used to capture the customer’s expectation and perception in both cities. A questionnaire of 69 items is distributed to the respondents who have experienced the GO-RIDE service both in Jakarta and Bandung and they are asked to assessed GO-RIDE service using the 7-likert scale three times, based on their expectation in general, their perception in Jakarta, and their perception in Bandung. From 385 respondents, the average score of customer’s expectation is 5.120, and perception in Jakarta and Bandung scores 4.799 and 4.806 respectively. The average score of customer gap is -0.321 in Jakarta and -0.314 in Bandung and 0.023 for the overall gap difference. All gaps are negative except for one item per each city. But the average of the overall gap and per dimension shows negative result, thus GO-JEK still needs to improve their quality of. The biggest contributing dimension to the gap is the Tangibles. REDESIGNING JOB DESCRIPTION AND JOB SPECIFICATION OF DIKLAT DEPARTMENT IN PT TRANS INDONESIA FOR INCREASING STAFF AND SUPERVISOR PERFORMANCES FINAL PROJECT
Abstract. The transportation industry in Indonesia is the most important industry. It is because Indonesia is the largest archipelago country in the world. Therefore, the transportation industry needs to be maintained and developed. One of the ways is through PT Trans Indonesia which engaged in the transportation industry. However, based on preliminary study, PT Trans Indonesia is facing problems at staffs and supervisors level in Diklat Department. Where Diklat Department has 1 manager position, 3 supervisor positions, and 4 staff positions. The symptom in Diklat Department can be seen from main responsibility that can not be fully handled, unfair compensation, ineffectiveness and inefficient job description\u27s presentation, and less maximize the opportunity to fulfill job holder\u27s job. After done Problem Tree Analysis was known that the root of the symptom lies in the need for restructuring job analysis to obtain an updates job description and job specifications. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to improve job descriptions and job specifications at the staff and supervisor level. Restructuring is done by doing qualitative approach that includes of questionnaires and interviews. In analyzing the need for restructuring, researchers also use scondary data. The result of restructuring describes the change of content and format on job description and job specification. The amendment is based on adjustments to the needs and circumstances for addressing fairness compensation, less informative job description, and dealing with the number of employees who reduced. So, this research can achieve the existing problems to improve employee performance, especially for staff and supervisor in Diklat Department in PT Trans Indonesia.Keywords:Â Job Analysis, Job Description, Job Specificatio
DETERMINANTS ANALYSIS OF NON PERFORMING LOAN USING BANK SPECIFIC VARIABLES AND MACROECONOMIC FACTORS OF 19 COMMERCIAL BANKS IN INDONESIA
Abstract. Bank’s main activity in generating income is by spreading credit. The credit given by the bank might become Non Performing Loan (NPL), which is a condition when the interest payment is delayed by the agreement. Thus, credit risk is one of the most important risk that are faced by the bank. This research intended to find the relationship of banks specific variables: Bank Size (LNSIZE), Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR), Return on Asset (ROA) and Net Interest Margin (NIM) and macroeconomic factors: Inflation Rate (INFL), Interest Rate (INTR) and Growth Domestic Product (LNGDP) toward Non Performing Loan (NPL) in 19 commercial banks in Indonesia which is included in BACB 3 and 4 in the period of 2012-2016. The data is processed using panel data regression with Random Effect Method. The result shows that CAR, LDR, NIM and LNGDP have positive significant relationship to NPL while LNSIZE and ROA have negative significant relationship to NPL. On the other hand, INFL and INTR have no significant relationship to NPL. According to the result, the author recommend commercial banks in Indonesia to be more careful in spreading the credit using the funds that have been generated by the bank to improve the credit quality and monitor the significant variable so the amount of NPL can be decreased. Keywords: Non Performing Loan, Bank Specific Variables, Macroeconomic Factors, Indonesia
THE IMPACT OF FAMILY INTERNAL CONFLICT TOWARDS FAMILY BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT (CASE STUDY OF FAMILY BUSINESS PEMANDIAN AIR PANAS CIPANAS – CILEUNGSING)
Abstract. The phenomenon of family business shows a significant influence on the business development of a country including Indonesia. In addition to the results of a survey conducted by KPMG through the European Family Business Trends, almost 80% - 98% of companies in the world are controlled by family companies, 70% of its companies are located in Asia - Pacific where 85% of these companies are family businesses.  According to Kompasiana (2002) report, 90% of entrepreneurs in Indonesia are executives running a family business. Despite these facts, APIndonesia (2009) states that in fact most of the family businesses do not have longevity caused by transitions between generations that are not working properly where about 70% of family companies fail in the second generation. Therefore, this study was conducted to analyze the impact of internal family conflicts on the development of the family business itself and find solutions to the problem. This research uses descriptive qualitative method by focusing on coding data obtained from interview and observation. Therefore, the researcher recommends deliberation and compromise to solve the problems incurred in the family while for business interests by implementing a clear business management system and making short and long term plans
