    The Principles of Islamic Guidance Counseling in Al-Qur’an Surah of Yunus Verse: 57 (Study of Al-Maraghi’s Thoughts)

    This article was written with the aim of exploring Al-Maraghi's thoughts on the principles of Islamic guidance and counseling in Al-Qur’an surah Yunus verse 57. This article is the result of an exploration of reading sources related to the principles of Islamic counseling guidance that counselors refer to. The analytical method used in the literature review is the content analysis method. This article is the result of Al-Maraghi's interpretation of the surah Yunus verse 57. The results showed that counselors in conducting guidance and counseling must refer to four principles. First, the counselor must provide advice and direction to clients in good words that can soften the client's heart so that it can inspire clients to take the positive actions and leave the negative actions. Second, the counselor tried to treat clients from various diseases of the heart such as shirk, nifaq and other diseases of the heart that could make the client's heart restless and problematic. Various diseases of the heart that must be treated are indecisive in belief, quarrelsome, abusive behavior and disliking what is right and good. Third, the counselor must direct the client to the right path and beliefs so that he can avoid wrong beliefs and actions. Fourth, the counselor must internalize the values of rahmah or client affection so that clients are happy with something good and willing to help difficult and weak people.     Today, the social needs of today's teenage generation need to be addressed responsively. The accelerating civilization of technology can be an opportunity and a deep concern both in terms of activity and social aspects. The tendency of today's generation of teenagers dissolves with their respective worlds and makes individuals less concerned with their environment and what happens to others. Dzikir activities carried out by teenagers in Bengkulu can be adopted as an effort to maintain balance between Hablum minallah and Hablum minannas. The purpose of this study reveals the elements that become content in social sensitivity through the application of dzikir activities from the book of Al-Barzanji. This study uses a design of types of symbolic interactionism, namely researchers interpret interactions between individuals and symbols that appear to be, language, rhythm-words, word suppression, posture, gestures, mimicry of interactions that occur in dzikir activities. The results showed that dzikir activities in the book of Al Barzanji can be a method of islamic guidance and counseling in the social field because it upholds the principles of activeness, dynamism and collaborative

    Marriage of Different Islamic Community Organizations (Ormas) and Its Implications for Household Harmony: A Review of Sigmund Freud's Psychoanalysis

    In this study, the author wants to answer the formulation of the problem, how the reality of the household life of couples with different religious organizations and how the implications for domestic harmony using Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic review. The object of the research is a couple who married different religious organizations in Sirau Village, Kemranjen District, Banyumas Regency. In this study, the author uses a descriptive-qualitative approach, and this research is classified as field research. In data collection techniques, the authors use interviews, observation, and documentation. From the study conducted, it can be seen that first, the reality of the married life of married couples Marriages with different religious organizations in Sirau Village, Kemranjen District, Banyumas Regency can be classified into two types, those who are able to foster household harmony and those who are unable to foster household harmony. Second, the people of Sirau Village who do marriages with different organizations have an awareness that marriage is a nature (fitrah) for humans and can bring good (Id). In the midst of this awareness, they are then faced with organizational differences that can potentially lead to household harmony (Ego). However, the couple's ego is also influenced by several factors such as sublimation or shifting the gaze to something acceptable, for example, good looks—both husband and wife; reaction of formation or opposing attitudes experienced by fantasy until such as optimism for personal maturity so that potential conflicts based on organizational differences can be minimized. Negotiations that occur at the ego level in the next phase are then realized by getting married (Superego). Third, figures from each Islamic organization (Ormas) in Sirau Village have different views regarding marriages of different organizations. Based on Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theory, it can be seen that the NU personality structure Ego or Das Ich tends to reject based on facts on the ground who are unable to foster household harmony, while the Muhammadiyah character Ego or Das Es personality tends to accept it

    Premarital Guidance During Covid-19 Pandemic

    Revitalization of premarital guidance has been conducted by the Director-General of Islamic Community Guidance of the Ministry of Religious Affairs since 2017. The program is a solution to high cases of divorce, child marriage, and domestic violence. The main priority of this program is implemented in districts/cities with high divorce rates. Semarang as the provincial capital could be a portrait representation of this program, let alone it is recorded as the city with the highest divorce rate in Central Java. The target for 2018-2019 could be achieved well and maximum. The COVID-19 pandemic brought its problems for the fulfillment of this targeted activity. This descriptive qualitative study illustrated how the implementation of pre-marital marriage guidance during the COVID-19 pandemic at the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Semarang. The results showed that the COVID-19 pandemic gave technical changes in implementing premarital guidance that should be under the health protocols such as reducing the number of participants for face-to-face premarital guidance, eliminating premarital guidance for teenagers, and improving independent premarital guidance. Also, there was a decrease in the target activity caused by the low number of marriage applicants.

    Recently, the world experiences a striking process of modernization that provokes dehumanization phenomena. Consequently, modern society encounters a spiritual crisis (azmah ruhaniyah), primarily caused by greediness rationalism mind-set as the consequence of technology hegemony. Particularly, in the industry 4.0 revolution era, its prevalent challenge is the appearance of disruptive technology that affects almost every aspect of life, including the spiritual aspect. This spiritual crisis affects the formation of soul-sick (qalbun saqim). One of the examples is the pseudo happiness that has become an epidemic in various kinds of social media like WhatsApp (WA), Instagram (IG), Facebook (FB), Twitter, and so forth. Social media users share happiness content without being accompanied by their real emotions. These emotions are illustrated as pseudo happiness, which is the fake happiness acknowledged by the people. In this study, the researchers formulated happiness literacy by using the detection and education method to realize authentic happiness. The detection of pseudo happiness refers to the indicators built based on the universal values of the Quran.     Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to Parents of Street Kids at the Jakarta Rumah Alif Community Foundation

    The problems faced by street kids are quite numerous and varied. Such as living at inappropriate places, poor family income, unmet living needs, and lack of relationship with parents. Most of their parents do not have a proper educational background, so in educating children they still use patterns of violence without considering the psychological effects on the child. The problems faced by street children cannot be separated from the influence of their parents, so need to involve their parents as the main educators. The purpose of this study is to apply a Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) approach in order to provide understanding to parents of street children at the Rumah Alif Community Foundation in educating and building good relationships with children. SFBT is carried out with an individual approach and strengthened with group counseling. This approach is appropriate because SFBT only takes less time and resources for treatment. Through a qualitative research approach with an interview and observation methods, results described that SFBT can help parents to understand their child's problems, find various alternative solutions and pay attention to the child's psychological side.     The Character of Adolescents In The North Aceh Coastal Area: An Impact of Authoritarian Parenting Style

    Parenting style is an activity of guiding, educating, and raising children. There are three types of parenting styles, i.e., authoritarian, authoritative, and permissive. This study investigates the effects of authoritarian parenting on adolescents' character in the coastal community at North Aceh. It is a qualitative study in which the participants were fifteen fishermen who have adolescent children between 12-18 years old. The data were obtained through interviews and observations, which were subsequently analyzed qualitatively. The results showed three negative effects of authoritarian parenting on adolescents' character, i.e., disobedience, impudence, indiscipline, and irresponsibility. Negligence of these adverse effects may lead to criminal acts in adolescents and affect their future mental development.

    Spiritual Emotional Freedom Techniques as an Islamic Counseling Approachin Reducing Depression in Elderly Women

    This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the implementation of SEFT as an Islamic-based traumatic counseling therapy in reducing depression in elderly women, and how these elderly women are a vulnerable group to depression. This study used an experimental method with a Single-Subject Research (SSR) with an ABA design that aims to determine the use of SEFT therapy to treat depression in the elderly. The measurement of depression levels was carried out with Geriatric Depression Scale, scale of 0 to 15. The population of this study was 14 elderly patients in the RPSBM of Pekalongan. The sampling was done by purposive sampling, through various considerations, taking a sample of the elderly who are physically healthy, and not senile, with a total sample of 5 elderly women. Data analysis used descriptive statistics and the Wilcoxon test. The results of this study show that the majority of the elderly in RPSBM experience depression due to unpleasant experiences. The treatment carried out through Traumatic Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT) significantly effective in reducing depression in elderly women, seen from the Wilcoxon statistical test that the probability value is below 0.05, namely 0.0195 <0.05. The reduction in depression in the elderly ranged from 40% to 56%. Some indications of a decrease in the level of depression in the elderly can be seen from physical and psychological changes.     The Implementation of At-Tawazun Counseling for the “Pesantren Tangguh” Program in the New Normal Era

    In the new normal era, several pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) in East Java had the “Pesantren Tangguh” program initiated by Polda (the regional police unit at the provincial level) East Java. The research objective was to describe the application of At-Tawazun Counseling (pesantren-based counseling) which was implemented by the counseling division of the “Pesantren Tangguh” program at Pondok Pesantren Salafiyah Syafi'iyah Sukorejo Situbondo. This study used a service-learning approach involving the students of Islamic Guidance and Counseling (BPI), the Faculty of Da'wah, Ibrahimy University, and the ustadz in the pesantren. The results of this study indicate the application of the At-Tawazun Counseling technique by balancing (at-tawazun) between the lahiriyah (visible) and batiniyah (invisible) namely: techniques:  1) uswah hasanah (social model), (2) mauidhah hasanah (psychoeducation), (3) targhib-ta’zir (reinforcement-punishment),  (4) art, (5) ‘uzlah (self-quarantine), dan (6) gerbat (prayer).     Pro-Session (Self Compassion Program) in Improving Academic Resilience of Muslim Students

    Muslim students need academic resilience in overcoming difficulties during the educational process. Positive emotions; self-compassion influence the academic resilience of Muslim students. Self-compassion will help Muslim students to come to terms with their conditions and themselves when experiencing problems which will facilitate the academic resilience of Muslim students. Self-compassion in improving the academic resilience of Muslim students will be provided in the form of training called PRO-SESSION (Self Compassion Program). The type of research used is quasi-experimental research. The experimental research process involved 35 research subjects who were students of UIN Sunan Ampel divided into two groups, the experimental and control groups. Based on the results of the Mann-Whitney U-test analysis, it was found that the value of sig. 0.034 (p < 0.05) with the average value of the experimental group experiencing an increase in academic resilience scores after giving a treatment by 2.25 and the control group experiencing a decrease in academic resilience scores by 0.7. This means that there is a significant effect of PRO-SESSION in increasing the resilience of Muslim students. Thus, it can be concluded that self-compassion is effectively used to increase the resilience of Muslim students
