The Experimental Application of Group Counseling Self-Management Techniques for Adolescent Internet Addiction for Their Mental Health
This research aims to determine group counseling treatment with self-management techniques for teenagers to reduce internet addiction in teenagers in Sumber Village, Sumber District, and Rembang District. This type of research is a quantitative experiment category with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling technique. The data analysis technique uses a paired sample T-test with the help of SPSS version 23.0. The results of this research show, firstly, that there is a significant difference in internet addiction in teenagers before and after being given treatment through group guidance activities. The difference in the average pretest score is 124.3056, and the difference in the posttest is 112.4306. Second, the implementation of group guidance is considered effective in reducing internet addiction in teenagers, with an average difference of 11.875. Third, the highest and lowest scores between the pretest and posttest test results are in the very high category, with a score range of 140–150 and a high of 130–139. After being given treatment, there was a decline in the moderate category with a score range of 120–129 and the low category with a score range of 110–119 and a probability value of 0.000<0.05. This means that group guidance activities were rated as effective in reducing the level of internet addiction
The Relationship Between Parental Rejection and Self Handicapping in Terms of Students' Socioeconomic Conditions
This study explored the relationship between parental rejection and self handicapping, considering the moderating role of socioeconomic status. The study population included students from 2016-2019 with a total of 1,238 students. The study sample consisted of 270 students selected by simple random sampling method, with an additional 25 respondents making a total of 295 respondents. The method in this study was carried out by collecting data using a Likert scale tested on the parental rejection scale and the self handicapping scale and analyzing the data using the Hayes model 1 regression technique. The results showed a positive relationship between maternal rejection and self handicapping (p=0.001, p<0.05), indicating that the higher the level of rejection from the mother, the higher the level of self handicapping in individuals. While there is no positive relationship between paternal rejection and self handicapping. Furthermore, socioeconomic status moderated the relationship between parental rejection and self handicapping, especially in the high (p=0.011, p>0.05) and very high (p=0.027, p>0.05) socioeconomic status groups. This indicates that the higher the socioeconomic status of the individual, the greater the influence of parental rejection on increasing self-handicapping behavior
Caring for the Mental Health of Patients at Aisyiyah Hospital through Spiritual Guidance
Caring for the mental health of patients receiving treatment in hospitals is an urgent matter to be implemented. This research discusses the process of spiritual guidance for patients, therefore the aim of this study is to analyze the process of spiritual guidance in caring for the mental health of patients at Aisyiyah Hospital during their stay in the hospital. This study is a qualitative research. Data collection was done through observation, interviews, and documentation. In this case, information was sought from the spiritual guidance department. The data analysis used in this study was through data reduction, data display, and verification. The research result shows that the role of spiritual guidance for patients at the hospital is an important activity to be implemented as it can accelerate the healing process when patients have a healthy mindset. The challenges faced by the spiritual guidance department can be minimized by collaborating with religious organizations that have many experts in the field of religion, taking into account the expertise of these experts
Sufi Psychospiritual Practices as Islamic Counseling Approach for Enhancing Student Spiritual Well-being in Pesantren
This research investigates how Sufi psychospiritual practices function as an Islamic counseling approach to improve the spiritual well-being of students in Pesantren. Focused on three Pesantren in Salatiga, Central Java, where students are deeply involved with Islamic teachings, this research aims to understand the contribution of these practices in shaping students' spiritual well-being across four domains, namely personal, communal, environmental, and transcendental, as outlined by Fisher's theory. Sufi Psychospiritual Therapy aims to assist individuals in achieving spiritual growth, emphasizing repentance, asceticism, patience, and trust (redha). Utilizing qualitative research methods, including observation, interviews, and documentation, data were collected and analyzed following the model of Miles et al. Research findings reveal the significant impact of Sufi psychospiritual therapy on the spiritual well-being of students in selected Pesantren. Students report feeling calmer, gaining clarity about life goals, and outlining steps to achieve them. This underscores the effectiveness of integrating Sufi practices into counseling to encourage holistic student development in Pesantren. In essence, this research emphasizes the importance of recognizing and utilizing the spiritual aspects of student well-being in Pesantren and demonstrates how Sufi psychospiritual practices can positively influence students' overall growth in this context. Further research is recommended with a larger and more diverse sample, incorporating quantitative methods to offer a more comprehensive understanding of how Sufi psychospiritual practices impact the spiritual well-being of students in Pesantren
The Islamic Counseling Values in Saman Dance Poetry Among Gayo Society
The Saman dance, a cultural heritage of the Gayo community, is not only an artistic expression, but also reflects the Islamic counseling values that this community firmly holds. This research aims to explore the Islamic counseling values contained in the Saman dance poetry and how these values are applied and lived by the Gayo community. This study uses qualitative research methods with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and text analysis of Saman dance poetry. The results of the research show that the Saman dance poetry consistently depicts Islamic values such as piety, morals and social values. The Gayo community applies these values as a guide for Islamic counseling in everyday life, strengthening social and spiritual ties within the community. By highlighting the relationship between traditional art and Islamic values, this research provides further insight into how art and culture can be an effective means of conveying Islamic counseling messages and strengthening moral values in local communities. The implications of these findings can help in the development of Islamic counseling programs that are integrated with cultural heritage in various communities
The Application of Islamic Counseling to Overcome Post-Suicide Attemption in Female Adolescent with Minor Depression
Suicide is an act of recklessness to end one's life so that someone dies. The main cause of suicide is depression, a condition of psychiatric pressure characterized by disappointment, anxiety, hopelessness, loss of meaning in life and thoughts of suicide. This study aims to analyze the application of Islamic counseling to overcome post-suicide attempts in young women who experience minor depression. The research used a qualitative-descriptive approach with a focus on case studies on 3 young girls who had attempted suicide. Sampling technique with purposive sampling. Retrieval of data using interviews, observations and documentation records. Data analysis using a thematic approach. The results of the study show that the application of Islamic counseling is effective in dealing with post-suicide attempts in female adolescents who experience minor depression. In general, before attending counseling, adolescents experience depression and suicidal thoughts, but after attending counseling, adolescents feel relieved, happy, repent and return to the right path according to religious teachings. The application of Islamic counseling is able to provide positive changes from the spiritual, cognitive, affective and conative dimensions, so that the counselee has a psychological and spiritual health condition (mental health and spiritual health)
Traumatic Counseling with Play Therapy Techniques to Handle Children Victims of Domestic Violence
Traumatic counseling with play therapy techniques can be a solution for children victims of domestic violence. This study aims to describe the application of traumatic counseling with play therapy techniques to treat children victims of domestic violence. This research is qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. Primary data sources were the head of UPTD PPA (Regional Technical Service Unit for the Protection of Women and Children) Samarinda, child psychologists, and case handling staff. Secondary data sources were documents of UPTD PPA. Data collection techniques were observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed by employing Miles, et al. model covering data collection, data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing or verification. The data validity testing included increasing persistence, using reference materials, and triangulating sources and techniques. The study results show that the counseling place is representative of all the facilities. The counselors are certified psychologists who have licenses from relevant ministries and are experienced. The counseling phase begins with the assessment. The counseling session is carried out systematically with play therapy techniques in the form of rapport first, then doing an active and fun approach to children, getting to know children better, then trying to direct children to talk while playing
The Use of Islamic Creative Art Therapy (I-CAT) in Individual Counseling to Overcome Personal Problems at Kaunseling Center Majlis Agama Islam Negeri Sembilan (MAINS) Malaysia
The Use of Islamic Creative Art Therapi (I-CAT) in Individual Counseling to Overcome Personal Propblems at MAINS Malaysia. The phenomenon that not all counselees can express what the counselees feel verbally, therefore the use of I-CAT is effective for counselees who have problems verbally in conveying problems. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with the aim of describing the stages of using I-CAT in individual counseling to overcome personal problems at the MAINS Malaysia Counseling Center. Data collection methods include observation, interviews and documentation. The subjects of this research were PK MAINS Seremban branch counselors who were counselors with counselee who had personal problems who used I-CAT in individual counseling.The results showed that there are five stages in using I-CAT: (1) opening session (initial stage), (2) release session (expressing feelings stage), (3) exploration session (exploration stage), (4) conversation session (discussion stage), (5) formulation session (problem solving stage). Basically, the use of I-CAT in individual counseling is almost the same as individual counseling in general, but the difference is that in individual counseling, I-CAT is used to explore problems using image media to make it easier for clients to convey existing problems, and in the process of sharing experiences between counselors. and the counselee, the counselor includes religious values as a reflection in the counseling
Moral Education of Muslim Children in Islamic Minority Countries (Phenomenological Studies in Germany and the Netherlands)
Moral education is an element that must be embedded from an early age, where true morals originate in a healthy soul, and are supported by a strengthening spiritual element, to give birth to children with positive morals. Moral education should ideally be taught in any condition and situation, both in Muslim-majority and Muslim-minority countries. This study aims to determine how moral conditions, problems experienced by parents in educating Islam-based morals, and the process carried out by parents in educating their children's morals in non-Muslim countries. Germany and Amsterdam were used as research sites because both countries are known as Islamic minority countries. This research uses phenomenological research methods with a qualitative approach. Participant data came from parents who had the following criteria have lived in Germany or Amsterdam for at least 2 years, Indonesian parents who are Muslims, and parents who educate their children directly related to morals and are not represented by caregivers / domestic assistants. Research data were obtained from interviews and observations and then analyzed using phenomenological study techniques. The results showed that parents apply authoritarian and democratic parenting. The efforts made by parents in educating children's morals include storytelling methods, role models, direct learning, and reward and punishment. Obstacles faced by parents include internal and external obstacles, namely the lack of academics or facilities to obtain sources of Islamic knowledge as well as the busyness of parents. The pattern of moral education of children for Muslim minorities is carried out through faith-based private schools (Islam), informal homeschooling, colleges (universities and colleges), mosques (Islamic centers), and Islamic organizations
The Analysis of Islamic Guidance and Counseling’s Management from the Perspective of Graduate Students
This study aims to study and analyze the function of management guidance and counseling as a whole and from the perspective of the 2020 Islamic Education Management (Managemen Pendidikan Islam) students, Tarbiyah, and Teacher Training Faculty, UIN Walisongo Semarang. This research belongs to field research with a qualitative approach. The subject of the study was graduate students of Islamic Education Management year 2020. The focus of this study includes the meaning of management guidance and counseling, planning of guidance and counseling, organizing of guidance and counseling, implementing of guidance and counseling, controlling of guidance and counseling, and evaluation and follow-up of guidance and counseling. The method used to collect the data was a questionnaire, interviews, and documentation. The triangulation method was used to find out the validity of the research. To analyze the data, the method used was data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusion method. The research analysis showed that 83% of the students had understood the meaning of management Guidance and Counseling, moreover 100% of them were able to write the Qur’an verses related to it. Although half of the students had included the text of Qur’an’s verses related to it, while the other only shared the translation of it. 83% of the students were able to explain the planning / outlining of the management Guidance and Counseling correctly. 50% of them shared the text of Qur’an verses related to it, 34% of them only shared the translation related to it, but 17% of them shared the verses in the Qur'an related to it without giving additional information from which verses it was taken. Other than that, 100% of the students understood and were able to show the verses for the organization of Guidance and Counseling correctly. Related to the implementation of Guidance and Counseling, 100% of the students understood and were able to show the verses related to it. So did the controlling of guidance and counseling. Meanwhile, related to the evaluation of Guidance and Counseling, 100% of the students understood about it but did not understand the follow up of it. However, they were 100% able to share the Qur'an verses related to evaluation and follow-up of Guidance and Counseling.
