The Influence of Supervisor and Co-Worker Social Support Towards Resilient Self-Efficacy of Psychiatric Hospital Nurses
The standard and complexity of nurse job tend to create heavy burden for nurses in performing nursing duties. The current study aimed to examine the influence of social support from supervisors and co-workers towards the resilient self-efficacy of psychiatric hospital nurses. The participants were 70 psychiatric hospital nurses in Surabaya. The study used Social Support Scale and Resilient Self-efficacy Scale. Multiple linear regression analysis showed that supervisor and co-worker support simultaneously had a significant influence on psychiatric hospital nurses’ resilient self-efficacy (F = 32.837; p 0.05). However, co-worker social support significantly influenced psychiatric hospital nurses’ resilient self-efficacy even when given separately (r=0.558; p < 0.05). This study concluded that compared with supervisor social support, co-worker social support significantly influenced psychiatric hospital nurses’ resilient self-efficacy
Adaptation of Gratitude Questionnaire-6 (GQ–6) in Indonesian Context
Adaptation of a psychological instrument is essential due to cultural difference and context. This study aimed to adapt the Gratitude Questionnaire-6 (GQ-6) in an Indonesian context. The initial steps included back-to-back translation, focus group discussion, expert judgements, and pilot study. From this procedure, five additional items were added to the original GC-6. The eleven final items were tested to 404 undergraduate students aged 18-24 years-old from several universities in Jakarta. The reliability test, the internal consistency, was examined by the Cronbach’s alpha coefficient, while the validity test, construct validity, was examined using exploratory factor analysis (EFA). The result of analysis showed good validity and reliability (Cronbach’s alpha: 0.789). This study concluded that 11-item gratitude questionnaire consistently measured gratitude in adolescents based on two factors: appreciation to the constant experience of life and appreciation towards individuals that take part in one’s life
The Role of Sexual Self-Control as Moderator between Sexual Desire and Premarital Sexual Behaviors
Sexual desire can be one of the antecedents for individual premarital sexual behavior. Otherwise, sexual self-control can prevent individuals from engaging premarital sexual behavior. This study aimed to examine the role of self-control in moderating the relationship between sexual desire and premarital sexual behavior. This study involved 209 emerging adults (18-25 years old) who were dating and not undergoing a long-distance relationship. The current study used Premarital Sexual Permissiveness measurement, dyadic sexual desire subscale from Sexual Desire Inventory-II, general sex-drive and stimulus-elicited sex-drive subscales from Perceived Sexual Control to measure premarital sexual behavior, sexual desire, and sexual self-control respectively. Results of regression analysis showed that sexual self-control did not moderate the relationship between sexual desire and kissing (∆R2 = 0.006, p > 0.05), as well as sexual desire and petting (∆R2 = 0.001, p > 0.05). However, self-control could be a moderator in the relationship between sexual desire and intercourse (∆R2 = 0.027, p < 0.01)
The Use of the Partner Surveillance Scale in Instagram: Psychometric Evaluation Based on the Graded Response Model
The use of social media, especially Instagram, has become an increasingly powerful form of daily activity. This social media affects the romantic relationship of people, where people in relationships can conduct surveillance on the behaviors of their partner. This study provides an analysis of the psychometric properties of the Indonesian version of the Partner Surveillance Scale which contains 15 items and used a 4-point Likert scale format. The study recruited 214 female university students aged 17-23 years old, who used Instagram. The Graded Response Model (GRM) method was applied. As a result, the Indonesian version of the Partner Surveillance Scale was proved to have good psychometrics properties and had good fit to the GRM. All assumptions of GRM were met and the scale had high reliability. But, it should be noted that some items did not fit well with the model. The results of this study also provide an alternative to the use of Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) in analyzing polytomous data with GRM. This study concluded that the psychometric properties of the Partner Surveillance Scale were good.
Trust and Trustworthiness of Friendship Relation In Yogyakarta and Makassar
Previous research conducted by the same authors found that personal attributes (benevolence, integrity, competence) and the relational attributes (closeness, support, and reciprocity) influence trust and trustworthiness. This paper aimed to test the proposed trust model on a new dataset while also testing for gender and regional differences. This research involved a collaboration between Universitas Gadjah Mada as a representative from Yogyakarta and Universitas Negeri Makassar as a representative from Makassar. There were 420 students that participated in this study; 157 (37.4%) men and 263 (62.6%) women. Regression analyses indicated that 42% of trust was formed by personal and relational attributes. Contrary to expectations, there were no differences in trust (p> 0.05) between females and males. However, there was a significant difference in trustworthiness (p0.05). This study provides an understanding on the importance of trust and trustworthiness in efforts to maintain pluralism, as a form of citizenship identity
Indonesian Adaptation and Psychometric Properties Evaluation of the Big Five Personality Inventory: IPIP-BFM-50
The big five personality traits are the best acknowledged and most commonly used the model in psychology. Therefore, many personality scales are developed based on this personality model. IPIP-BFM-50 is one of the open-source scales measuring big five personalities that is widely used by world researchers. This study aimed to adapt IPIP-BFM-50 into Indonesian and evaluate its psychometric properties. The adaptation was done by following the guidelines of the International Test Commission (ITC). The result shows that IPIP-BFM-50 Indonesia has Aiken's V index ranging from 0.71 - 0.98. Alpha reliability with n = 502 ranges from 0.762 (agreeableness) to 0.862 (emotional stability). Factor analysis shows that the items are well-grouped according to their dimensions with loading factor ranging from 0.34 to 0.75 on the factors measured. Thus, IPIP-BFM-50 Indonesia has satisfactory psychometric properties and can be used to measure the Big five personality
Padjadjaran Interest Inventory:Evaluation of Psychometric Properties
This research aims to evaluate the psychometric properties of a new instrument for measuring vocational interest: Padjadjaran Interest Inventory (PII). There were 2,648 participants in this study, consisting of workers, high school, and university students, with gender proportion of 1,014 (38.3%) males and 1,634 (61.7%) females. This research used descriptive statistic test, t-test and MANOVA for gender differences, reliability coefficients and validity evidence by using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). The results showed that PII has good psychometric properties: it has good reliability and valid internal structure; it is standardized by gender, and it is applicable for large groups with relative ease. PII can be used for career exploration. Limitation of this study was discussed for future research

Three scales were used in this study, namely the parent mediation scale, the anonymity scale, and the cyberbullying scale. Data analysis used was multiple regression. The results showed that parental mediation and the perception of anonymity had a role in cyberbullying behavior (F = 10.264; df = 2.156; p <0.01). The effective contribution of the two independent variables to the dependent variable was 11.6% with parent mediation variable contributing 5.83% and the perception variable contributing 5.78% to anonymity
Data-Focused Approach: Developing A New Intervention Method In Applied Psychology
This study aimed to compare the newly developed psychological intervention method by the first author, named data-focused approach, to the more classical process-oriented approaches, i.e., gestalt, psychodynamics, and interactional group psychotherapies. A pretest-posttest design was used. Twenty-one participants were assigned into four experimental groups. Measures used were self-regulation, emotional awareness, and meta-emotion scales as well as stated agenda on interpersonal relationships. They were administered before and after therapy sessions. Results indicated that the new method was evidently compatible with the classical psychotherapy approaches. Specifically, participants in the data-focused approach were satisfied with the aiming of behavioral change in their interpersonal relationships. The new approach is effective to be applied in group processes. Thus, this new method is also recommended to be studied in other settings. Using the simplified procedure, it is hoped that other professionals, like medical doctors, nurses, midwifes, women activists in public health centers may use it to provide better service for the community
Psikologi Peluang Kewirausahaan: Proses Kognitif Pengusaha Startup Digital dalam Opportunity Recognition
Developed countries have at least 2% of entrepreneurs from the total population of the country. However, Indonesia has a very low number of entrepreneurs as well as an increasing unemployment rate over the years. Recently, the development of entrepreneurship in Indonesia dominated by the growing number of digital startup. Moreover, Indonesia is a country with the largest number of a digital startup in Southeast Asia. Initial psychological studies on entrepreneurship are focused on the personal characteristics of the entrepreneurs. However, conclusions from more than 30 years of research indicate that there are no special personality characteristics of entrepreneurs and non-entrepreneurs. In essence, the heart of entrepreneurship lies in the ability to recognize an opportunity. Opportunity recognition is a mechanism that happens in an individual’s cognitive process. Therefore, this study intended to reveal the cognitive processes that take place when entrepreneurs, in particular, the founders of digital startups, in the identification of entrepreneurial opportunities. This research uses the think-aloud protocol method with protocol analysis. Based on this research, we found that in the process of opportunity recognition, entrepreneurs focus their cognitive efforts on the market (demand) and technology (supply) as well as build relationships and meaningful patterns in these two aspects through structural relationship processing. This study provides an in-depth description of the cognitive processes that occur when entrepreneurs recognize entrepreneurial opportunities through structural alignment processes
