    This research is a research of class action. The purposes of this research are 1) to know about the motivation increasing from student to learn mathematic after learning applied using recitation method with LKS on standart topic on Cube and Beam in grade VIII E SMPN 11 Jember year 2013/2014; 2) To know result learning about the increasing from student to learn mathematic after learning applied using recitation method with LKS on standart topic on Cube and Beam in grade VIII E SMPN 11 Jember year 2013/2014. The research subject is students of SMPN 11 grade VIII. This research consists of 2 cycles. The data collecting method is observation, questionnaire, interview and test for every end of cycle. Based on the analysis result from the motivation questionnaire students in studying mathematic, the average from cycle value and interview about motivation increasing by the students to learn mathematic after using recitation method. The result is shown by 1) The data from questionnaire students in learning mathematic is getting increasing from the first reflection to the cycle I and to the cycle II is 57,15% becomes 69,87% and in cycle II becomes 76,5% with the high  cathegory; The average from the test result is getting increasing, the average in cylce I is 68,37 becomes 81,13 in cycle II.     Abstract. Creative thinking ability is the ability to generate ideas or new ways to produce a product Creative thinking ability can be raised by giving the problems that have more than one solution in various ways or also called divergent problems. This research aimed to describe the student’s creative thinking ability in solving the divergent problems of triangular and quadrilateral subjects based on mathematical ability. The type of this research is descriptive qualitative research with the subject of students class VIII SMPN 1 Jember amounted to 10 students who have categorized the ability of mathematics. Methods of data collection in this research are documentation, tests and interviews. Based on the results of the test of creative thinking ability and interview, the ability of high mathematics students belong to the third level that is creative, the ability of mathematics students are classified at several levels, namely level 1 (less creative), level 2 (creative enough), and level 4 (very creative) , And the ability of low mathematics students also belong to several levels, namely level 2 (creative enough), level 3 (creative), and level 4 (very creative). The ability of students' creative thinking in solving divergent problems based on the ability of mathematics is varied and does not depend on the category of mathematical ability possessed.     Abstract. Mathematics communication ability is the ability to present ideas to other people. Mathematics communication ability can be written and verbal. This research aimed to describe the student’s mathematics communication ability in understanding quadrilateral problems. The type of this research is descriptive qualitative research with the subjects of students class VIII SMPN 1 Jember amounted to 9 students who have categorized the ability of mathematics. Methods of data collection in this research are documentation, test and interviews. Based on the average from the test of written mathematics communication ability reinforced by interviews and tests of verbal mathematics communication ability, the ability of students' mathematics communication in understanding the quadrilateral problems are varied.. There are 4 students who have high mathematics communication ability, 2 students who have medium mathematics communication ability and 3 students who have low mathematics communication ability. Students who have high mathematics communication ability are able to fulfill 2-3 indicator of written mathematics communication ability (expressing and understanding mathematical ideas and use mathematical terms/notations) and 2-3 indicator of verbal mathematics communication ability (expressing and understanding mathematical ideas and use mathematical terms/notations). Students who have medium mathematics communication ability are able to fulfill 2 indicators of written mathematics communication ability ( understanding the mathematical ideas even if there are errors and use mathematical  term/notations) and 2 indicators of verbal mathematics communication ability (expressing mathematical ideas and understanding mathematical ideas although there are still errors or using mathematical terms/notations). Students who have low mathematics communication ability are able to fulfill 1-2 indicator of written mathematics communication ability (understanding the mathematical ideas even if there are errors and use mathematical terms/notations) and 1 indicator of verbal mathematics communication ability (understanding mathematical ideas or use mathematical terms/notations even if there are errors).   Keywords: Mathematics Communication Ability, Mathematical Ability, Quadriaterals &nbsp

    ETNOMATEMATIKA PADA PENANGGALAN JAWA TERKAIT ARITMETIKA DI DESA YOSOMULYO

    Abstract. This research aims to describe the form of the etnomathematics in calculation of Javanese calendar related to arithmetic used in cultural activities and daily activities in the Yosomulyo village. This research’s type is descriptive research with qualitative approach to etnography. Data collection methods which are used in this research are observation and interview. Subject for this research are community leaders as much as two people and communities as much as five people who understand in calculation of Javanese calendar. The results showed that calculation of Javanese calendar count the cultural activities and daily activities associated arithmetic modulo systems, activities that appears are calculation of the day and the pasaran, calculation of the ceremony commemorating the death and the pregnancy, as well as determine the day and the right plants in the farm. Modulo is used modulo 3, 4, 5, and 7. the calculations use modulo 3 is calculation in determining the day of wedding. Calculations using modulo 4 is calculation to determine the day and the right plants in the farm. Calculations using modulo 5 is calculation to determine pasaran an activity.     Abstract. This research aims to describe the creative thingking profile boys and girls in eighth grade  of SMP Nuris Jember in solving story question about rectangle. This research’s type is descriptive research with qualitative approach. Data collection methods which are used in this research are test and interview. Subject for this research are three boys student and three girls student of class VIII C SMP Nuris Jember. The characteristics of creative thingking are fluency, flexibility, and novelty. In real problem there are four steps to solve the question is understand the problem, make a plan to solve the problem, implement the resolution of problem, and checking back the answer . The results of this research showed that the boys student can explain the problem and the resolution verbally but less able to explain by writing.     Abstract. This research is conducted to describe the process of learning media development and to know the product learning media development of mathematic interactive Schoology software Geogebra based on transformation geometry at class XI SMKN 2 Jember. This research is research of development based on development model 4D that describe by Thiagarajan wich consist of 4 stages, namely define, design, develop and disseminate. Subject of this research is students of class XI at SMKN 2 Jember at Multi Media with 1 thep students number are 32 students. Data collection in this research used validation sheets model from 3 validators, teachers interview, user quetionair and students score test. The result was analysed in descriptive form the result of research, the result of the media’s validity level is 93% or in other words the prevalence level is in the “High†category, the practical level is seen from students activity quetionnaire researching 84,2% or can be categorized as “Good†and the effectiveness level of 81,25% is in the “Practical†criterion, so it can be said that developed learning media worthy to be tested.   Keywords : Geogebra, Learning Media, 4D Thiagaran Models, Schoology. &nbsp

    Abstract. This research aims to develop and produce creative character-based learning device in the rectangular and square sub chapters at seventh grade of junior high School (SMP) which have valid, practical and effective criteria. Learning device developed among them is the implementation plan of learning and student worksheets. Development of this learning device using the model of Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) which consists of 5 stages including riview, development, cooperative work, independent work and projects. Learning device were developed based on the modified 4-D development model by Thiagarajan, Semmel, and Semmel. The development of this learning device consists of defining, designing and developing phases. The subject of this research is the students of class VII A SMPN 1 Silo. The instruments of data collection from this research are: validity sheet, student worksheet, teacher activity observation sheet, student activity observation sheet, teacher questionnaire, and reader sheet of student worksheet. Based on data analysis, this study has three results. First, the learning divice developed have valid criteria. Secondly, the learning device developed have practical criteria based on teacher activity observation sheets and teacher response sheets.     Abstrak. This research aims to (1) analyze the development process of mathematics learning media with discovery learning model by paying attention to cognitive load in trigonometry subject at tenth grade of vocational high school; (2) analyze the development result of mathematics learning media with discovery learning model by paying attention to cognitive load in trigonometry subject at tenth grade of vocational high school. Mathematics learning media that were development are Lesson Plan and students’ worksheet. This research took place at tenth grade KIA 2 of vocational high school 5 jember with consists 36 students. This research is development research. Process and result from development were (1)the development process of using modified thiagarajan model which consists of 3 stages; (2) development result were validation test from validation sheet analysis that scored 3,80 for Lesson plan validatiy coefficient and 3,83 for Student work sheets validatiy coefficient with valid category, practicality test from teacher’s activity analysis scored 89,74% for the first meeting and 94,87% for the second meeting with good category, and efectiveness test from students activity analysis, Learning Result Test and students’ questionnaire analysis with effective result. Result of this mathematics learning media development showed that discovery learning mathematics learning media by paying attention to cognitive load fulfilled validity, praticality, efectiveness so that it can be used well for learning.   Keyword: Development, Media, Cognitive Load Theory, Trigonometr

    PROFIL SISWA MEMAHAMI KONSEP BARISAN DAN DERET BERDASARKAN TAHAP BELAJAR DIENES DI KELAS IX-C SMP NURIS JEMBER

    Abstract. This study aims to describe the students understanding in concept of sequence and series based on the Dienes learning stage in class IX-C SMP Nuris Jember. Type of this research is descriptive research with qualitative approach. The subjects in this study were 35 students of class IX-C who have completed the question oftest understanding, then selected 8 students as representatives of each category to be interviewed that is 2 students with an understanding of the concept of high, 3 students with an understanding of the concept of medium, and 3 students with an understanding of the concept of low. Data analysis based on test and interview. Students with an understanding of the concept of high tend to fulfill all stages on arithmetic and geometry sequence. But on the arithmetic and geometry series tend to fulfill 5 stages. Students with an understanding of the concept of medium tend to fulfill 4 stages and only 1 indicator for fifth stage. Students with an understanding of the concept of low tend to fulfill 4 stages in sequence and series arithmetic, and fulfill 2 stages of the sequence and series geometry.   Keywords : Sequence and Series, Understanding The Concept, Dienes Learning Stage

    Abstract Education is a necessity for every human being. There are many components that support, among others: teachers, students, curriculum used and others. Teachers are the determinants of the success of a learning system. Therefore, teachers should understand the model, method, setrategi, or approach of learning. One of the learning model that can be applied is cooperative learning model Round Table type. The purpose of this research is to improve students activity and learning achievement for the triangle subject in VII-D SMP Negeri 2 Pasirian. The result showed that the percentage of student activity from 74,70% in cycle I to 86,97% in cycle II. The result of student learning showed an increase from 60,60% of students who completed in cycle I to 75,76% student which complete in cycle II. From these results indicate that the implementation of Round Table can improve student activity and learning outcomes and can be used as an alternative method of learning in the classroom.
