The purpose of the research are to describe the types of students’ errors based on Watson's criteria assessed from their mathematical ability and gender, and examine the causes of students’ errors. This type of research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. Data collection methods used are observation and interviews. The subjects of the study were 6 students consisting of 3 male students and 3 female students of class VIIIB of SMP 4 Jember which each students represented a high, medium, and low level of mathematics ability. Based on the results obtained, many students experience errors when working on the Two Variable Linear Equation System problem, both for male and female students at the level of high, medium, and low mathematical abilities. Each type of error has a cause of error.  Keywords:  errors, gender, mathematical abilities, Watson's criteria, Two-Variable Linear Equation Syste

This study aims to describe the profile of problem solving students based on the Polya stages in terms of cognitive style. The problem solving profile is a general description or description of the activities of solving mathematical problems carried out by students using previously acquired knowledge. The description is related to the psychological cognitive style possessed by students. Psychological cognitive style is divided into 2, namely the independent and field dependent cognitive style fields. Analysis of students' answers in the problem of the Two Variable Linear Equation System based on the 4 stages of the Polya consists of understanding the problem, making a plan of completion, implementing the completion plan and checking again. The instruments used were GEFT test, problem solving test, Two Variable Linear Equation System, and interview. The subjects of the study were 6 VIIIE class students at Genteng 2 Public Middle School. In general, field independent students are better at solving problems than field dependent students. Keywords: Cognitive Style, Problem Solving, Polya Stage, Profile

Optimization is the best decision making activity that can be carried out by the company related to the industry in question within existing limitations by involving limiting determinant variables. The problems faced by UD Pastijaya are the limitations that exist in an effort to maximize the production of roof tiles by optimally using the variable variables available to obtain an increase in tile production. The solution that can be done is to use the Goal Programming method which is the development of the Linear programming method. This method is used to solve the problem of determining the amount of optimal production with limited resources as targets to be achieved. The optimization results are carried out by using the POM-QM assistance application. The number of tile production has increased in several types of tiles including coral reefs as many as 52425 units, press as many as 51955 units, morando as many as 12441 units, and wuwung as many as 9310 units. This type of research is qualitative research with ethnographic approaches. The data collection methods used are observations, interviews, and documentation. The object of this research is engklek (Javanese traditional game) with the speaker by head of Cultural division from Department of Education and Culture in Bondowoso district. Based on the results of this study, it can be noted that engklek (Javanese traditional game) has mathematical elements. The mathematical elements that found are planes, counting, nets, congruent, reflection, opportunity, and mathematical logic. This research focuses on several objects, including the tile, players, gaco, and the rules of the game. The tiles contain planes, reflections, congruent, nets, and counting. Players of engklek contain counting and opportunity. Gaco from engklek (Javanese traditional game) contain planes, meanwhile rules of the game contain mathematical logic. The teaching materials obtained in this study are the worksheets of students with the material planes for class VIII and the material congruent for class IX.  Keywords: Ethnomatematics, Engklek (Javanese Traditional Game), Geometr

PEMODELAN MATEMATIKA ALIRAN DARAH PADA ARTERI KORONER AKIBAT PEMASANGAN STENT

Coronary heart disease is a disease caused by accumulation of cholesterol that forms plaques on artery walls for a considerable period of time. Over time, this disease can cause the heart muscle to weaken, and cause complications such as heart failure. One of ways to treat coronary heart disease is the stent installation (rings) or commonly called angioplasty. Angioplasty aims to make the blood vessels narrow to open so that blood flow flows better. The emergence of mathematical modeling as a new science is one alternative to solve these problems. With mathematical modeling, practitioners can make a form of a formula that describes the state of blood flow in the coronary arteries according to actual conditions without ignoring important factors in the system. In this study a mathematical model was built based on the above problems to determine the effectiveness of stent installation or angioplasty in the process that occurs in coronary arteries. This study aims to identify students’ misconception in terms of mathematics anxiety level. The type of this study was descriptive research with qualitative approach. The methods of data collection in this study used questionnaire, test, and interview. The subjects of this study were VIIIA grade students of Islamic Junior High School 2 Banyuwangi. Students’ test results are analyzed using  four-tier diagnostic test to determine students understand the concept, do not understand the concept, and misconception. All students who have low mathematics anxiety level tend to understand the concept, students who have high mathematics anxiety level tend to do not understand the concept, while students who have middle mathematics anxiety level identified as misconception, but there were some who do not understand the concept and also understand the concept. Students’ tes results who identified as misconception were analyzed according to indicators of misconception. In this study the percentage of each form of students’ misconception to solve TIMSS problems with the total 31 students, 29% translation misconception or as many as 9 students, 16.1% of operation misconception or as many as 5 students, 29%  of calculate misconception or as much 9 students, 16.1% systematic misconception or as many as 5 students, 12,9% concept misconception or as many as 4 students, and 22.6% of strategy misconception or as many as 7 students. Abstract. This research purpose to analyze students error problem solving math story on the subject SPLDV in class X APH 2 SMKN 5 Jember, using Newman’s Error Analysis (NEA). The analyze will be related to the kinesthetic learning style. The research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection was done by tests, questionnaires and interviews. Based on the result of this research, kinesthetic students tend to make error on comprehension, transformation, process skill and encoding. Each students has their own unique way in solving the problem at every stage Newman. However, in general, students with kinesthetic learning style tend to solve problems with trial and error strategies and often misconceive because they do not understand what they mean when imagined. Ethnomatematics is the application of mathematics in cultural life. The purpose of this study was to describe the ethnomatematic activity of the Jejer Jaran Dawuk Banyuwangi dance in Sanggar Jingga Putih Banyuwangi. The product produced in this study is in the form of geometric teaching materials, namely the test problem Package with the topic of Ethnomatematics. This type of research is qualitative with an ethnographic approach. Data collection methods used are observation and interviews. The research subjects were 3 peoples Banyuwangi Culture, dance teacher, and dancer Jejer Jaran Dawuk Banyuwangi. Ethnomatematics is seen when dancers dance a dance to measure, calculate, and design activities. At the time of the process of determining the time to start the dance and the time of change of movement appeared the concept of counting. When determining the distance between dancers, the concept of measuring distance using nonstandard size appears. When performing dance moves and floor patterns, the concept of designing lines, angles, and waking up appears flat. The results of the study are geometry teaching materials in the form of test packages. The test package is intended for junior high school students of class IX. The test package consists of 3 questions level C5 and 1 question level C6. Keywords: Ethnomatematics, Jejer Jaran Dawuk Dance, Geometr
