German and Georgian Phraseological Units Reflecting Colour Symbolism
No full textDie Farben spielten in jeder Zeit und Kultur für das Leben des Menschen eine bedeutsame Rolle. Kein Wunder, dass die Farben auch in unserer Sprachen ihre Spuren hinterlassen haben. Die meisten indogermanischen Sprachen unterscheiden klar zwischen grün und blau. Die anderen Sprachen dagegen haben nur ein Wort für beide Farben. In der georgischen Sprache ist das Wort für eine bestimmte Farbe verfügbar. Die Farben sind Träger verschiedenartiger Symbole. Zum Beispiel die blaue Farbe symbolisiert in der deutschen Sprache die Täuschung; in der georgischen Sprache ist diese Farbe jedoch nicht mit der Täuschung verbunden. Grau ist eine wirklich ausgewogene Farbe, aber grau ist oft mit Pessimismus und mit düsterem Wetter verbunden. Grün ist mit der Natur und der Erde verbunden. Gelb ist ein Symbol für Energie und Wärme. Die Symbolik findet mehr oder weniger ihren Niederschlag in den festen Wendungen, deren Kontrastive Forschung immer aktueller und wichtiger im Bereich der Phraseologie ist. Das Ziel der vorliegenden Arbeit besteht darin, am Beispiel der oft gebrauchten Phraseologismen mit Farbsymbolik blau, gelb, grau und grün, die kulturelle Spezifik der Farben in Deutschen und Georgischen Phraseologismen zu thematisieren und ihre Äquivalenzbeziehungen zu skizieren. Es werden von uns festgestellt, mit welcher Farbe die symbolische Bedeutungen in beiden Sprachen zusammenfallen und inwieweit diese Phraseologismen nach dem positiven und negativen Sinn in beiden Sprachen in Übereinstimmung kommen.Colours play an important role in human life in all periods and in all cultures. Therefore, it is not surpsrising that colours have left their marks in languages. The aim of the paper is to analyse common phraseological units with constituents which carry symbolical value, i.e. blau ‘blue’. gelb ‘yellow’, grau ‘grey’ und grün ‘green’ from a linguo-cultural perspective on the example of German and Georgian phraseological units. The majority of Indogermanic languages differentiate between grun¨ and blau, while others have one word for both colours. The colours carry symbolic values, for instance, blau symbolises deception in the German language; in Georgian, this colour is not connected with this phenomenon. Grau is balanced, but it is often associated
with pessimism and gloomy weather. Grun¨ connotes nature and the earth. Gelb ist the symbol of energy and warmth. To some extent, the symbolism is reflected in fixed expressions, whose contrastive research is of great importance for phraseologi cal studies. The role of intercultural education in creating the culture of peace in a multicultural context
No full textThe author of the article argues that these days we shape our identities in the dynamically changing multicultural context. The identity is understood as a creative effort of each human being in the process of self-development, and, consequently, in the process of shaping the culture of peace, which is directly related to the quality of intercultural education. The author presents the principles that govern intercultural education in a multicultural context, analyzing ideas and attitudes informed by the spirit of tolerance, and the values attached to dialogue carried out both in the domestic and foreign spheres. Such a mindset enables one to acquire the so-called multicultural competence, and to reject dogmatism, xenophobia, or nationalistic stance.Jerzy Nikitorowicz – prof. dr hab., profesor nauk humanistycznych, w latach 2005–2012 rektor Uniwersytetu w Białymstoku. Talented or disordered, ordinary or unusual, i.e. how to work with a preschool child

The article focuses primarily on the situation of a talented, unusual child often treated as the difficult one. Нарратив “Польской угрозы” Беларуси в российских пропагандистских СМИ (на примере Sputnik.by)
No full textВ статье, на примере сайта Sputnik.by, показаны основные антипольские пропагандистские нарративы; проанализированы количественные и качественные показатели рассмотренного ресурса; определено способы, инструменты и цели подачи главных тезисов пророссийской пропаганды в Беларуси. Отмечается, что риторика, звучащая в данном СМИ, призвана формировать негативный образ Польши в Беларуси. Указывается, что использование нарратива о “польской угрозе” для Беларуси направлено на создание образа врага в белорусском обществе.On the example of the site Sputnik.by, we showed the main anti-Polish propaganda narratives. Analyzed the quantitative and qualitative indicators of the considered resource. Determined the ways, means and goals of presenting the main theses of pro-Russian propaganda in Belarus. Noted that the rhetoric in this media intended to form a negative image of Poland in Belarus. Importance of the Internet for researcher reputation management
No full textThe article aims at drawing attention to opportunities of reputation management by researchers using new media, considering the importance of internet tools for image creation and identifying opportunities and threats. The research problem of the article focuses on answers to the question formulated as follows: What might the possible importance of the Internet for reputation building be? The problem relates to the issue of researchers’ active participation in creating and shaping their reputation online. The presented considerations have been based on literature and studies on the subject. The article attempts to clarify the distinction between the concepts of identity, image, and reputation. It discusses image-creating factors and refers to the question of immanent credibility and guise in research. The author describes examples of internet tools and points to their importance for reputation management, which concerns the sum of partial images accumulating over time. Communication plays an important role in building reputation. Owing to its availability, interactivity and variety of forms, as well as the speed of information transfer, the Internet has become an indispensable channel of communication. All researchers should recognise the fact in order to build their reputation thoughtfully. Their reputation involves a multitude of accumulated images formed as a result of interactions between factors associated with the subjects themselves, information the recipients obtain, and factors relating to the recipients. The conclusions of the study point to the necessity of reputation management by planned and deliberate actions taking advantage of internet tools. Inversion, ring formation and randomness testing of different extensions of the Langton's ant algorithm on multidimensional tori for the creation of Langton's ant-based cryptosystems
Get PDFA test tool for Langton's ant-based algorithms is created. Among other things, it can create test files for the NIST-Statistical-Test-Suite. The test tool is used to investigate the invertibility, ring formation and randomness of 7 created models which are extensions of Langton’s ant. The models are examined to possibly use them as pseudo-random generator (PRG) or block cipher. All models use memories which are based on tori. This property is central, because this is how rings are formed in the first place and in addition the behavior of all models at the physical boundaries of the memory is clearly defined in this way. The different models have special properties which are also investigated. These include variable color sets, discrete convolution, multidimensionality, and the use of multiple ants, which are arranged fractal hierarchically and influence each other. The extensions convolution, multidimensional scalable and multidimensional scalable fractal ant colony are presented here for the first time. It is shown that well-chosen color sets and high-dimensional tori are particularly well suited as a basis for Langton's ant based PRGs. In addition, it is shown that a block cipher can be generated on this basis

Get PDFDas Ziel dieser Bachelorarbeit besteht in der Konzeption und Umsetzung eines CSS-Frameworks auf der Basis von Disneys zwölf Prinzipien der Animation. Dazu wird die folgende Forschungsfrage gestellt: Welche Relevanz haben Disneys zwölf Prinzipien der Animation im Kontext von UI-Animationen und wie lassen sie sich auf Elemente im Bereich Web umsetzen? Um diese Forschungsfrage zu beantworten, wurden die Prinzipien analysiert und in einem UI/UX-Kontext betrachtet. Dabei wurden potenzielle Einsatzmöglichkeiten für die Verwendung der Prinzipien und deren mögliche Auswirkungen auf die User Experience beschrieben. Um zu demonstrieren, wie eine Umsetzung der Prinzipien für gängigeElemente im Web aussehen könnte, wurde die Konzeption und Implementierung eines CSS-Frameworks durchgeführt. Dabei konnte festgestellt werden, welche Prinzipien für UI-Animationen geeignet oder ungeeignet sind und wie diese mithilfe von CSS und JavaScript implementiert werden köonnen. Silent Cyber in Reinsurance – Challenges and Opportunities
Get PDFThe ‘cyber’ threat is regarded as a growth area in the
primary and reinsurance sectors worldwide and for the past five years has been developing more dynamically than any other hazard. This major topic concerns both primary and reinsurance companies in all areas, whether in property, liability, transport or accident insurance. Services (prevention, risk-based pricing models and claims processing, for example) present a global growth market for the reinsurance industry. The complexity of the cyber threat and the evolving nature of the risk involved present a host of challenges for the design of insurance products, for underwriting, for risk management and for cumulative control – for both primary and reinsurance companies. Correct assessment of cyber risk is therefore indispensable, and the right approach must always be developed further. Special attention needs to be given to the variety of forms a cyber event can take. Thus, primary and reinsurance companies can incur not only the costs of data loss, but also the costs of
reconstructing IT infrastructure, the costs of network and business interruptions, costs of crisis management, costs of reputational risk, and the costs of third-party liability claims
