The emergence of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) has brought abundant potentials and challenges to the educational sector. This study explores the acceptance and adoption of GenAI in English language and its pedagogical affordability for EFL instructors in tertiary level institutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. An exploratory sequential mixed method was utilized in this study to gain in-depth insights into the quantitative findings. The first quantitative phase recruited 256 EFL instructors in Saudi Arabia while the follow-up qualitative phase incorporated 17 interviewees. The findings of this study indicate that anthropomorphism, trust, ethics and regulations, and pedagogical affordability are significant determinants of instructors’ acceptance  of GenAI. Conversely, instructors’ acceptance was not significantly influenced by communication capability of GenAI. Yet, there was no evidence of significant differences in GenAI acceptance or adoption due to demographic variables such as gender, age, and degree. The pedagogical affordances of GenAI appears to be the most acceptance factor specifically the productivity and efficiency that GenAI afford for instructors. The study recommends establishing ethical guidelines and embracing transparency and accountability to maintain academic integrity

Character Development Through Physical Learning For Elementary School Children

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Physical Education (PE) learning in instilling and familiarizing positive character values in elementary school children. Character education is becoming increasingly important in the challenging era of globalization, where the flow of foreign cultures and the influence of social media can hinder the development of children's character. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach involving 20 students, 5 parents of students, 2 teachers, and 1 principal at Elementary School Angkasa I Lanud Sutan Syahrir Padang. Data were collected through observation, unstructured interviews, and documentation studies. The results of the study indicate that PE activities are an effective medium in instilling character values such as discipline, cooperation, and responsibility. Teachers act as role models in teaching these values, while parental support strengthens character habits outside of school. Although effective, there are several challenges in its implementation, such as time constraints and lack of training for teachers. This study conveys that PE has great potential to contribute to the formation of a young generation that is not only physically healthy but also strong in character

Applying Diagnostic Assessment with Rasch Analysis to Measure Students' Basic Understanding of Economics

Reviewing student understanding can be done through the diagnostic assessment process. However, many teachers have difficulty in conducting assessments. Based on the results of the theoretical study, Rasch Model Analysis can make it easier for teachers to conduct diagnostic assessments. Rasch model analysis can be used to measure the effectiveness of items on test instruments, the level of ability of respondents, and detecting differences in ability and item bias. For those reason, researchers conducted a diagnostic assessment to 330 students in 10th grade from three different High Schools in Gorontalo City. The test results processed and analyzed using Rasch modeling. The results was described in this study with a Quantitative Descriptive approach. The purpose of this study is to measure the effectiveness of the test instrument in the diagnostic assessment process, the level of student understanding, and to determine whether there are differences in ability based on gender and school category. This research found that: 1) the test instrument has good validity and reliability; 2) Students' concept understanding ability was divided into: 6% very high, 25% high, 29% medium, 25% low and 15% very low. 3) There was a significant difference between students' understanding based on school origin criteria. The findings of this research are expected to serve as recommendations for future teachers and educational practitioners to integrate diagnostic measurement with the Rasch model in evaluating student understanding

Psychology and sociology analysis of eating disorder factors among athletes: age-based perspectives

Eating disorders are prevalent among athletes, impacting their physical and psychological health. This study examines the influence of psychosocial factors—specifically stress and social support—on eating disorders among senior and junior athletes. A descriptive quantitative approach was used, with taekwondo athletes from SLOMPN UPI and the West Java Taekwondo Team selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using three validated questionnaires: the Eating Disorder Screen for Athletes (EDS-A), the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS), and the Athletes Received Support Questionnaire. Statistical analysis, including Two-Way ANOVA and descriptive statistics, was performed using IBM SPSS Statistics Version 25. Results showed a significant impact of psychosocial factors on eating disorders for both senior and junior athletes (p < 0.05). Senior athletes exhibited higher mean scores for eating disorders (20.53), stress (33.62), and social support (70.14) compared to junior athletes, who had mean scores of 18.94, 28.91, and 64, respectively. Despite receiving more social support, senior athletes experienced higher stress levels, which correlated with a greater risk of eating disorders. Conversely, junior athletes with lower stress levels showed a reduced risk of eating disorders, highlighting the importance of strong social support networks. These findings suggest that interventions should focus on enhancing social support and stress management tailored to different age groups. Future research should explore gender differences in psychosocial factors affecting eating disorders to develop more targeted interventions
