Strategy to Improve the Quality of PJOK Teachers and ISORI Administrators to Improve Sports Education in Tanah Datar
Improving the quality of physical, sports, and health education (PJOK) is an important factor in the formation of a healthy and competent young generation. In Tanah Datar Regency, PJOK teachers and the management of the Indonesian Sports Scholars Association (ISORI) play a strategic role in advancing sports education. However, there are obstacles in the implementation of routine training, the use of learning technology, and the limitations of adequate sports facilities. This study aims to analyze efforts to improve the quality of PJOK teachers and ISORI administrators in Tanah Datar Regency, with a focus on education, training, the role of administrators, sports facilities, and their impact on students. Methods This research uses a quantitative approach. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, direct observations, and documentation studies to get a comprehensive picture of the quality of PJOK education and the role of ISORI administrators. The results show that most PJOK teachers have participated in the training, although the implementation is less structured and the use of technology is still low. ISORI administrators are actively holding trainings and seminars, despite coordination and resource constraints. Most schools have adequate sports facilities, but some still need the government's attention. Improving the quality of teachers and the ISORI program has been proven to increase student motivation, participation, achievement, and encourage a healthy lifestyle. In conclusion, improving the quality of PJOK teachers and ISORI administrators plays an important role in advancing sports education in Tanah Datar Regency. Continuous training, improved coordination, and the provision of adequate facilities are needed to achieve this goal. The impact is not only seen in the improvement of student achievement, but also in the formation of a sustainable healthy lifestyl
Project-Based Indonesian Language Course Innovation to Improve Student's Critical Thinking
This research aims to develop and assess the feasibility of project-based Indonesian language textbooks in enhancing critical thinking among Medan State University students. Following the 4-D model of Research & Development, the process involves analysis, textbook design, material development, and dissemination. Needs analysis includes front-end and material design analyses to formulate learning objectives. The design stage entails compiling project-based learning materials, selecting media, and designing the book's specifications. In the development stage, textbooks are produced and validated by experts, with validation results exceeding 87% for both material and media. Dissemination involves distributing the textbooks to students to test practicality, resulting in a practicality test score of 87.74%. Validation and implementation scores indicate "very feasible" status without the need for revision. Consequently, the project-based Indonesian language course innovation is deemed "valid" and eligible for use as the primary teaching material at Medan State University, promising to enhance students' critical thinking skills
Optimization of Science Learning Outcomes for Series and Parallel Electrical Circuits Through Project-Based Learning Methods for Grade VI Elementary School
This study aims to improve student learning outcomes in the subject of series and parallel electrical circuits in Class VI of Inpres Seringgu Elementary School in the 2023/2024 academic year by implementing a project-based learning methodology. This method was chosen because it can activate direct student involvement in the learning process, provide practical experience, and encourage the development of critical and collaborative thinking skills. In this study, students were invited to design and build simple projects related to electrical circuits, such as lamps that can be turned on through series and parallel electrical circuits. This research was carried out as a class action consisting of two cycles. Each cycle includes planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and assessment of learning outcomes. The results of data analysis showed a significant increase in student learning outcomes. The average score before the application of the project-based method was 65, which increased to 80 in the first cycle and 90 in the second cycle. In addition, student involvement during learning also increased, as seen from the enthusiasm and active participation in discussions and practical activities. Therefore, the application of the project-based learning methodology has shown its effectiveness in improving student learning outcomes in the concept of electrical circuits. This study advocates the application of analogous strategies in other subjects to enhance conceptual understanding and enhance students' practical abilities. This research makes a constructive contribution to improving pedagogical approaches in primary education, with a particular emphasis on the field of scienc
Enhancing Speaking Proficiency Through Interactive Video Media: Material Development
The purpose of this study is to assess the needs of students and teachers for improving speaking abilities and to validate the usage of interactive video in the classroom. The ADDIE model's research and development (R&D) methodology was employed in this study: analysis, design, development, implementation, and assessment. As a result, it validated the teacher's material requirements while also analyzing the students' demands. Three English teachers and 18 secondary school students from MTS Miftahul Ulum Lumajang participated in this study. Data for this study were gathered through class observation, interviews, and questionnaires. An interview, however, revealed that the teacher frequently experienced difficulties developing English material for the junior high school class, notably for the eighth grade, due to students' questions and opinions. A questionnaire survey found that the majority of teachers (66.7%) had trouble improving pupils' speaking abilities by asking and providing opinions. According to this survey's findings, most students (72.2%) struggle to improve their speaking skills through questioning and replying. As a result, interactive video must be used. This study has given the majority of teachers a favorable impression of the efficiency of interactive movies in improving speaking proficiency
Developing an English Grammar Online Discussion Forum with Students as Contributors Using ADDIE Model
This Research and Development (R&D) study addresses the issue of grammar proficiency among English Education students at Universitas Negeri Medan. The solution proposed is the development of a learning media in the form of a web-based English Grammar forum. The development involved the application of the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) model. This systematic framework led to the development of an innovative online discussion forum. In this forum, students take on the role of contributors, where they educate their peers on English grammar concepts, aligning with the "Learning by Teaching" method. In the evaluation stage, contributors' experiences were assessed, revealing that rigorous questions and an active community fostered an engaging and motivating learning environment. Users reported improved language skills and a deeper grasp of grammar concepts. The development of an English Grammar Online Discussion Forum, following the ADDIE model, showcases its potential as a learning media that is able to improve the grammar learning experience of the students
Development of Muara Takus Temple Augmented Reality as a History Learning Media to Improve Reading Skills in Historical Sources
This research aims to develop learning media based on Augmented Reality (AR) which helps students improve their reading skills in historical sources. This research uses the 4D research and development (R&D) method which consists of four stages, namely define, design, develop and disseminate. The sample of research subjects consisted of 3 material, media and language validator experts, 2 teachers, 60 and 120 class X students who assessed the practicality and effectiveness of the product being developed. Data was collected through expert validation, interviews with teachers, teacher and student response tests, and tests on students. while the N-Gain test is to evaluate media effectiveness. Expert validation results show that the criteria are very valid with an average score of 3.78. The teacher and student response test showed an average score of 3.90, which shows that AR media is practically used for learning history. The N-Gain Test score of 75% shows that students' ability to read historical sources is increasing. Therefore, using AR to develop historical source reading skills is feasible, practical, and useful
Exploring Analysis Teaching Materials Needs On Optimalizing Natural Science Learning
In learning, teachers must prepare teaching materials to support the implementation of learning, it is necessary to analyze the needs of teachers for teaching materials that support their routine activities. The participants were 144 natural science teachers’, using random sampling techniques. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire are distributed via google form links with WhatsApp groups. An descriptive statistics, by describing the preferences of analysis teaching materials needs on 11 statements: current natural science learning system, support for teaching materials, types of teaching materials, current natural science teaching materials, level of difficulty of materials in teaching materials, development of teaching materials, contextual teaching materials, teaching materials based on local wisdom, smartphone-based teaching materials, development of electronic modules based on local wisdom, and plans for science materials integrated with local wisdom. This research contributes to explore initial data related to teachers' needs for relevant teaching materials that can be used as a basis for developing further teaching materials
