Meet Cute in American Narrative Film: American Beauty (1999), Carol (2015), La La Land (2016)
Full text linkBakalářská práce zkoumá narativní prvek zvaný meet cute, což je termín používaný pro první
seznámení dvojice, která spolu v budoucnu naváže romantický vztah. Prvek zkoumá na vzorku
tří amerických klasicky narativních děl a snaží se přijít primárně na jeho funkci, formu a také
pojmenování co jednotlivé scény ať už spojuje, tak odlišuje. Prvním zkoumaným filmem je
drama Americká krása (1999), kde je scéna prvního seznámení výjimečná v použití prvku male
gaze, a je tak klíčová pro pochopení vzájemného vztahu hlavních postav a mimo jiné hlavního
tématu filmu. Následuje analýza klasického melodramatu Carol (2015), kde je první seznámení
podáno jako osudové setkání, z kterého se stane ve filmu opakovaný narativní prvek a přispívá
tak k emocionálnímu a tematickému obsahu. A posledním zkoumaným dílem je muzikál La La
Land (2016), kde se ve scéně prvního seznámení hlavních postav střídají civilní prvky se
stylizovanými, což ostatně předznamenává i pojetí celého snímku. Bakalářská práce každý
film podrobuje neoformalistické analýze, přičemž se zaměřuje na několik klíčových aspektů.
Nejprve každý snímek představí v rámci jeho základního narativního rámce, poté rozebere
scénu meet cute z hlediska výrazových prostředků, a nakonec scénu uvede do širšího kontextu
celého narativu. Bakalářská práce tak poskytuje komplexnější, průřezový pohled na roli a
význam prvku meet cute ve filmovém vyprávění a jeho vliv na narativní strukturu, téma a styl
jednotlivých filmů.The bachelor's thesis explores the narrative element known as the "meet cute", a term used to describe the initial meeting of a couple who will later enter into a romantic relationship. The thesis examines this element across a sample of three American classic narrative works, aiming primarily to identify its function, form, and the elements that either connect or differentiate these scenes. The first film analyzed is the drama American Beauty (1999), where the meet cute scene is notable for its use of the male gaze, making it crucial for understanding the relationship between the main characters and, among other things, the film's central theme. This is followed by an analysis of the classic melodrama Carol (2015), where the first meeting is portrayed as a fateful encounter that becomes a recurring narrative element, contributing to the film's emotional and thematic content. The final work examined is the musical La La Land (2016), where the initial meeting of the main characters blends realistic elements with stylized ones, which foreshadows the overall approach of the film. The bachelor's thesis applies a neoformalist analysis to each film, focusing on several key aspects. It begins by presenting each film within its basic narrative framework, then dissects the meet cute scene in terms of stylistic devices, and finally places the scene within the broader context of the entire narrative. The thesis thus offers a comprehensive, cross-sectional view of the role and significance of the meet cute element in cinematic storytelling, as well as its impact on the narrative structure, theme, and style of the individual films

Full text linkBakalářská práce s názvem Kniha a loutka prozkoumává specifický druh ilustrace, která je vyobrazená pomocí fotografií, které zachycují instalované loutky nebo předměty aranžované v prostoru. Autorka pojmenovává tento typ ilustrace jako loutkovou fotoilustraci. Text si klade otázku: jaká jsou specifika loutkové fotoilustrace oproti jiným ilustracím a prozkoumává také propojení s animovaným filmem. Autorka dále pátrá v historii loutkové fotoilustrace a analyzuje pravděpodobně první knihy s touto technikou na českém území. Součást textu je také autorčina zkušenost při tvorbě vlastní knihy, která využívá tuto metodu. Následně v dalších kapitolách autorka popisuje všechny jí známé výtvarné knihy, které využívají tento přístup k tvorbě ilustrace.The bachelor's thesis entitled Book and Puppet explores a specific kind of illustration, which is depicted using photographs that capture installed puppets or objects arranged in space. The author names this type of illustration as puppet photo illustration. The text asks the question: what are the specifics of the puppet photo illustration compared to other forms of illustration and also explores the connection with the animated film. The author also researches the history of puppet photo illustration and analyzes probably the first books with this technique in Czech history. Part of the text is also the author's experience in creating her own book that uses this method of illustration. Subsequently, in the following chapters, the author describes all art books known to her, which use this approach to illustration creation
The profession of a cellist - mental and physical stress and its compensation
Full text linkTato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na profesi violoncellisty, konkrétně na psychickou a fyzickou zátěž spojenou s touto náročnou činností a na způsoby její kompenzace. Práce zahrnuje historický vývoj hry na violoncello, požadavky na mentální připravenost, identifikaci stresových faktorů a analýzu fyzických nároků na hráče. Pomocí dotazníkového šetření a rozhovorů s odborníky byly zjištěny klíčové problémy a efektivní kompenzační metody. Hlavními závěry jsou potřeba zvýšení odborné péče a vzdělávání hudebníků, integrace fyzioterapie a psychologické podpory do vzdělávacích programů, a podpora zdravého životního stylu. Výsledky této práce mohou přispět ke zlepšení kvality života violoncellistů a udržení jejich dlouhodobého úspěchu v profesi.This master's thesis focuses on the profession of cellists, specifically on the mental and physical stress associated with this demanding activity and the ways to compensate for it. The thesis includes the historical development of cello playing, requirements for mental readiness, identification of stress factors, and analysis of the physical demands on players. Through surveys and expert interviews, key issues and effective compensation methods were identified. The main conclusions highlight the need for increased professional care and education of musicians, the integration of physiotherapy and psychological support into educational programs, and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle. The results of this work can contribute to improving the quality of life for cellists and maintaining their long-term success in the profession
Synergy of Art and AI: Exploring the Role of the Artist
Full text linkTato diplomová práce se zabývá integrací umělé inteligence (AI) do umělecké tvorby a zkoumá její dopady na kreativitu a definici umění. Práce sleduje historický vývoj technologií, které automatizovaly uměleckou tvorbu, a porovnává jejich přijetí ve společnosti s moderními AI systémy. Hlavní pozornost je věnována současným technologiím AI a jejich aplikaci ve vizuálním umění. Diskutuje také etické a filozofické otázky týkající se pojmu autorství, stejně jako problematický obsah datasetů, na kterých se AI učí a implikace předsudečnosti na tvorbu samotnou.
Praktická část práce se soustředí na případovou studii procesu vzniku filmu Time Metallurgist a Polar Nights. Teoretické otázky a problémy jsou zde demonstrovány na konkrétních případech z tvorby obou filmů i s možným řešením problémů.
Cílem studie je poskytnout komplexní porozumění vztahu mezi AI a kreativitou a nastínit budoucí vývoj umění v digitálním věku. Výsledky ukazují, že AI může výrazně rozšířit kreativní možnosti umělců, avšak vyžaduje od nich aktivní přístup.This thesis explores the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into artistic creation and examines its impact on creativity and the definition of art. It traces the historical development of technologies that have automated artistic creation and compares their societal acceptance with modern AI systems. The focus is on current AI technologies and their application in visual arts. It also discusses ethical and philosophical questions concerning the concept of authorship, as well as the problematic content of datasets used for AI training and the implications of biases on the creation process itself.
The practical part of the thesis concentrates on a case study of the creation process of the films "Time Metallurgist" and "Polar Nights." Theoretical questions and issues are demonstrated through specific examples from the creation of these films, along with potential solutions to the problems encountered.
The aim of the study is to provide a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between AI and creativity and to outline the future development of art in the digital age. The results indicate that AI can significantly expand the creative possibilities for artists, but it requires an active approach from them

No full textVe své bakalářské práci se zaměřím na operní tvorbu slavného českého skladatele Bohuslava Martinů. V rámci této části jeho tvorby se zaměřím zejména na opery krátké a jednoaktové, kterým není věnována taková pozornost, byť rozhodně mají své místo v rámci skladatelovy tvorby. Ze všech jednoaktových oper se budu nejvíce zabývat operou Slzy nože, se kterou jsem měl možnost se setkat i interpretačně v rámci studia na AMU. Rozeberu ji nejen po obsahové stránce, ale také po stránce pěvecké. Na závěr své práce položím několik otázek režisérce naší produkce – Vilmě Bořkovec, týkajících se zejména její interpretace tohoto nevšedního hudebního díla. Věřím, že svou prací přispěji k většímu zájmu o hudební tvorbu Bohuslava Martinů, zejména pak o jeho jednoaktové opery.In my bachelor's thesis I will focus on the operatic works of the famous Czech composer Bohuslav Martinů. Within this part of his oeuvre I will focus mainly on short and one-act operas, which are not given as much attention, although they certainly have their place within the composer's oeuvre. Of all the one-act operas, I will be most concerned with the opera Tears of the Knife, which I had the opportunity to encounter and perform as part of my studies at the Academy of Performing Arts. I will analyse it not only in terms of content, but also in terms of singing. At the end of my thesis I will ask a few questions to the director of our production - Vilma Bořkovec, especially concerning her interpretation of this extraordinary musical work. I believe that my work will contribute to a greater interest in the musical works of Bohuslav Martinů, especially his one-act operas

První část je zaměřená na křesťanské náboženství obecně, jeho vznik, Bibli a evangelium, další související pojmy a historický postoj církve k tanci. Téma je následně zasazeno do doby mezi lety 1900 a 1950 a orientováno na tvůrce, kteří se tématu křesťanství v tomto období nejvíce věnovali. Závěrečná část podrobně rozebírá tři vybraná díla jak z taneční, tak baletní moderny na území Evropy a Spojených států amerických. Práce sleduje jak průběh a okolnosti vzniku jednotlivých choreografií, tak poselství, která přinášejí. Cílem této práce je přiblížit téma křesťanství skrze vybraná taneční díla z období moderny.The bachelor thesis deals with the relationship between dance and Christianity, especially in the first half of the 20th century. The first part focuses on the Christian religion, on its origins, on other related concepts, and on the historical attitude of the church towards dance. The theme is then set in the period 1900 - 1950 and focused on the creators who were the most devoted to the topic of Christianity during this time. The final part discusses in detail three of selected works form both dance and ballet modernism in Europe and the United States of America. The work follows both the course and circumstances of the creation of individual choreographies and the messages they bring. The aim of this work is to bring the topic of Christianity through selected dance works from the modern period
Specifics of ensemble playing and literature for flute quartet
Full text linkDiplomová práce slouží jako příručka pro hráče, pedagogy a umělecké vedoucí souboru čtyř fléten. Na základě literární rešerše je nastíněn historický vývoj souboru a repertoáru. Soubor čtyř dechových nástrojů stejné nástrojové rodiny, včetně čtyř fléten, má základy v renesanci. Během baroka a klasicismu se kvartety téměř nepsaly. Na konci 18. století Antonín Rejcha vytváří několik kompozic pro čtyři flétny, čímž pokládá základy flétnového kvarteta. Během 19. století je soubor čtyř fléten oblíben především v Itálii. Skladby jsou koncertantního charakteru a zpravidla je píší sami flétnisté. Trend pokračuje během 20. století až do současnosti, zároveň se objevují kompozice renomovaných skladatelů: Eugène Bozza, Sofia Gubaidulina, Jacques Casterède atd. Do kvartetů se promítá mnoho stylů a moderních technik 20. století.
Na základě literární rešerše a vlastních zkušeností dále uvádíme jakýsi návod, jakinterpretovat flétnová kvarteta a jaká jsou interpretační specifika tohoto obsazení. Důležité je přehánět veškeré dynamické kontrasty, sjednotit zvuk fléten a vibrato a jasně artikulovat.
Na závěr uvádíme přehled stěžejních kompozic pro tento soubor. Soupis skladeb zahrnuje přes 170 kompozic čtyř hráčských úrovní: od začátečníky, přes studenty uměleckých škol až po profesionály.The thesis serves a handbook for players, teachers and artistic directors of an ensemble of four flutes. Based on the literature research, the historical development of the ensemble and its repertoire is outlined. An ensemble of four wind instruments of the same instrument family, including four flutes, has its roots in the Renaissance. Quartets were hardly written during the Baroque and Classical periods. At the end of the 18th century, Anton Reicha creates several compositions for four flutes, thereby laying the foundations of the flute quartet. During the 19th century, the flute quartet is a popular ensemble especially in Italy. The compositions are based on concertante style and they are written by the flutists themselves. The trend continues during the 20th century to the present day, with the appearance of compositions by well known composers: Eugène Bozza, Sofia Gubaidulina, Jacques Casterède, etc. Many styles and modern techniques of the 20th century are reflected in the quartets.
On the basis of literary research and own experience, we are also serving instructions how to interpret flute quartets and what are the interpretation specifics. It is important to exaggerate all dynamic contrasts, to unify the sound of the flutes and vibrato, and to articulate clearly.
An overview of core compositions for the ensemble is served by the end. The composition list includes over 170 compositions of four player levels: from beginners, through art school students to professionals

No full textTato práce se věnuje obecnému shrnutí problematiky generativní umělé inteligence. Jelikož se jedná o velmi široký fenomén, jehož kritická reflexe zasahuje do spousty teoretických odvětví, tak i tato práce volí komparativní a multidisciplinární přístup pro získání nadhledu. Zabývá se tématy environmentálními, jako je spotřeba energie a extrakce nerostů. Etickými jako jsou autorská práva nebo zaujatost dat. Ekonomickými a sociálními jako jsou trh práce a proliferace dezinformací.
Cílem práce je skrze veškerá zmíněná témata utvořit celistvý a kritický pohled na generativní umělou inteligenci, přesahující jednu disciplínu a senzacechtivé titulky. Na závěr by tato práce měla nabídnout kritický pohled na to, co generativní umělá inteligence je a čím je podmíněná.This thesis is dedicated to a general summary of generative artificial intelligence. As it is a very broad topic and its critical reflection spans many theoretical fields, this thesis adopts a comparative and multidisciplinary approach to gain insight. It deals with environmental topics such as energy consumption and mineral extraction. Ethical ones such as copyright and data bias. Economic and social issues such as the labour market and the proliferation of misinformation.
